Youtube daily report w Jun 7 2017

Sclerotinia was quite severe last year, basically due to prolonged wet and humid conditions

that made the disease really aggressive last year.

If the disease is left uncontrolled, it can cause from 20% up to 50% yield loss.

Currently growers manage this disease using a range of practices, such as they avoid sowing

close to last year's paddocks which were effected by sclerotinia and more important

than that they avoid sowing into paddocks that have a history of sclerotinia and they

can also use fungicide spray applications if the risk of disease is moderate to high.

There are several products with different actives registered at the moment for sclerotinia

control in WA.

These products which contain iprodione, prothioconazole and tebuconazole-procymidone.

The first line of defence against sclerotinia for growers can use are to avoid sowing into

paddocks which have a history of sclerotinia.

They should also avoid sowing close to the paddocks that have a history of sclerotinia

in the previous two years and also they need to use fungicide application if the risk of

disease is moderate to high.

We have been working on a GRDC funded national project to manage sclerotinia in Western Australia.

Over the last few years we have been actually looking at timings of fungicide application

and also one spray versus two spray program.

So our data for the last two years suggests that in a normal season when you have normal

rainfall events, under those circumstances one well-timed spray application is all you

need to control sclerotinia.

But if the system is extended as we experienced last year with continuous wet conditions during

flowering, under those circumstances two spray applications are really economical and ensure

better disease control as well.

The ideal timing in that circumstance is to spray your crop between 30% and 50% bloom.

So if the disease does happen late in the season, for example if the spore release is

delayed due to lack of rain during early flowering period, then under those circumstances you

can still spray your crop at 50% and beyond that, up to three weeks after 50% that can

also give you an economic response to control this disease.

If you have conducive conditions before and after the imitation of flowering surely our

trial data suggests that you will definitely get an economic response from a well-timed

single application if the conditions and rainfall events are normal.

But in the case of extended rainfall conditions, surely you need to have two split applications

to get best economic response of fungicide applications.

We are looking at some other alternatives means of controlling this disease, mainly

because we want to reduce our reliance on fungicide usage.

So to investigate that we've been looking at widening or expressing in combination with

lower plant densities but unfortunately what we have found is that none of these practices

are really effective in reducing the disease levels, so basically the fungicide application

is still required in order to eliminate losses from sclerotinia.

In 2017 we will be mainly focusing on investigating time of sowing and fungicide interactions

in different environments of Western Australia.

We will also continue to fine-tune the timing of fungicide application especially in the

southern region as we don't have much data from growers in that region and also my major

emphasis will be to validate the environmental factors that we identified in our previous

research if they are accurate and they are applicable in a range of environmental condition

in Western Australia.

Hello everyone, welcome to E-mail Picks. Today on our menu is confirming details

of an e-mail you received. So here's the situation:

A manager working overseas, Elisa, is coming to visit us here in Japan and so

I've requested her flight schedule from her assistant, Risa, and she immediately

wrote me back. She immediately sent me an email. Let's take a look

it says: Dear Kyota, greetings to you and your colleagues! Here are the dates for

Elisa's business trip to Japan: arrival is July 5th, Monday, 3:50 PM and

departure is July 11th, 10:35 AM. Let me know if you need to know anything else.

Risa. Okay, so it's a very simple email but there is one thing I'm not 100% sure.

She wrote that the arrival date is July 5th -- a Monday, but when I look at the

calendar, July 5th is actually a Wednesday.

Well probably she's just confusing this month and next month because this month in

June, the 5th is a Monday; next month in July, the 5th is a Wednesday so it's a

small thing but I don't want to get this wrong. So I'm going to quickly confirm

with Risa if she meant to say Wednesday by e-mail. So here's what I'm gonna write:

Dear Risa, Thank you for sending me the information

I had requested. I'd like to double-check: did you mean the arrival day was

Wednesday the 5th? I wanted to make sure, just in case. Please let me know at your

earliest convenience! Kyota. OK, so I'm double-checking a very

small detail but I'm trying to keep it light -- a light message by writing "I wanted

to make sure, just in case." And finally I'm in no rush, so I wrote:

"Please let me know at your earliest convenience."

So there you go, a simple e-mail to confirm details.

Well, everyone mixes up dates all the time, so I hope this helps you too. Anyway,

that's it for today, thank you for watching and see you next week.

USA says it dont want INDIAs help in Paris Climate agreement - Duration: 4:18.

Hello Everyone This World Conspiracy Daily

WC Daily

USA says it doesnt need Indias help on Paris climate agreement.

The US does not need India, China and France telling it what to do on the issue of Paris

Climate agreement, American Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley has said, strongly supporting

the controversial decision of President Donald Trump to withdraw from the landmark accord.

Trump last week withdrew the USA the second largest polluter after China, from the Paris

Agreement.

He said that India would get billions of dollars for meeting its commitment under the 2015

Paris Agreement along with China and gain a financial advantage over the US.

He had put the US in league with two other nations - Syria and Nicaragua - who have not

signed onto the deal agreed by over 190 other nations.

"I think the rest of the world would like to tell us how to manage our own environment

and I think that anybody in America can tell you that we're best to decide what America

should do.

We don't need India and France and China telling us what they think we should do," Indian-American

Haley was quoted as saying to a News Report.

Responding to a question on global reaction to Trump's decision, Haley said countries

should continue doing what's in their best interest.

"They should continue doing what's in the best interest.

And if the Paris agreement was something that works for them, that they can achieve, they

should do that," Haley said.

Haley defended Trump's decision saying business could not be run under the kind of regulations

imposed by the Paris Climate deal.

"There's a reason that President Obama didn't go through the Senate to get this cleared,

because he couldn't.

The regulations were unattainable.

I mean you could not actually have a business run under the regulations that we had," she

said.

She said that the US is conscious about the environment and it will continue to do its

part in protecting climate change.

"We know that there are issues with the environment.

We know that we have to be conscious of it.

But we can't sit there and have Angela Merkel telling us to worry about Africa.

She should continue doing her part.

We're going to continue doing our part.

We're going to continue encouraging other countries to do what they think is in the

best interests of them.

But American sovereignty matters," Haley said.

The top American diplomat said that Trump believes the climate is changing, and he does

know that pollutants are a part of that equation.

"He believes that climate is changing and he believes pollutants are part of that equation.

He is absolutely intent on making sure that we have clean air, clean water, that he makes

sure that we're doing everything we can to keep America's moral compass in the world

when it comes to the environment," she said.

"We've done that in the past.

We'll do it in the future.

It's what the US does.

It's what we'll continue to do," she added.

So what do you think of Halley's comment and the support Donald Trumps withdraw from US

and condemning India and China France on Paris Climate Agreement.

AIDS and The HIV Virus - Meet the Patients1 - Duration: 4:06.

On November 19th, 2014,

our fim crew

began an unusual film journey.

The goal of this trip was

to visit patients who had contracted

the AIDS virus 10 years ago.

We`ve heard that

people died almost every day in this village 10 years ago.

A decade has passed.

How are these patients?

How are their living conditions?

As our car gets closer to the village

our journalist gets more and more nervous and anxious.

Accompanied by an employee of

the State Administration of Traditional chinese Medicine of the PRC,

we entered a village in Weishi County, Henan.

Also, on this trip are specialists from the TCM treatment of AIDS specialists group of Henan.

for ten years

the have lost track of how many times

they have traveled back and north along this path.

For the patients in the village,

the arrival of this group

is just another ordinary event.

As soon as I wash them,

it stings like there`s a pepper there.

My muscles contract,

and my veins twitch,

and I can`t sleep.

Can you see your muscles twitching?

I can feel it.

You can only feel it?

Your dorsalis pedis artery is fine.

When we came in 2004,

there was the situation

of people in the village

dying and being buried every few days,

so when I first arrived,

every time I finished my medical visit and went home,

I had to soak all my clothes

in disinfectant,

I entered my house, I took off my clothes

and soaked them for long before washing them.

Mr. Zhu is 46 years old

and an AIDS patient.

In 1994,

during a flood of paid blood donation,

both he and his wife contracted AIDS.

In 2003, the onset of his disease nearly killed him.

Have you been alright recenty?

I had some herpes at first--

hives all over my body,

and I started treatment,

but before they were even treated,

I had a fever.

I was so feverish

that I had a lung infection.

I thought of everything.

I even told my wife and children

to prepare for my funeral.

I was bedridden for three days.

I didn`t even drink water.

I climbed out of the heap of the dead.

After he came,

he couldn`t even drink water.

I cut open an infusion set

and put one end in a glass of water,

and one end in his mouth,

and held it,

and told him to drink some water,

then I started prescribing him

medication for his symptoms.

At that time, his family had even prepared his coffin,

when Mr. Zhu was on death`s door.

In early 2004,

China Implemented

the `four free services and one aid program policy,

The first batch of free medicine

to treat AIDS was distributed.

After taking the medicine,

Mr. Zhu`s health quickly improved.

But the good times were not to last.

Like other patients,

after Mr. Zhu took his antiviral medication,

he also had a severe toxic reaction.

His face began to atrophy and distort,

and he also felt numbness

in the peripheral nerves of his legs.

You couldn`t even control how you walked.

You wouldn`t even know if you lost a shoe.

When we first arrived,

many of the patients couldn`t walk

some had ascites,

some had hydrothorax

and some had numbness in their peripheral nerves--

after they took the antiviral medication,

it caused a reduction of blood cells.

After an incubation period of 10 years,

the villagers

who took part in the paid blood donation back then

began noticing the disease around 2004.

At the time,

this village had 161 infected patients,

of which 108

were in their periode of disease.

Although antiviral medication

had suppressed the development of the diasease,

the toxic side effects

began to appear shortly after,

and panic enveloped the village.
