Where are you going, kid?
I'm going to school?
Give me your lunch money you baby caliber!
Please do not do this.
Come on guys SCRAM!
Hi everyone I am Darko and you are watching a new episode on DumDum Channel.
This time we present you a revolver. Zastava M83 in .357 magnum.
Double Action on this is the worst thing I've ever felt.
Do not know if brass jams the rotation or ...
Watch this.
No chance.
Only when you push the cylinder with hand.
He gave it to the gun or M83 model, but it is bullshit.
It can fire accidentally
if you drop the hammer
Only if you help the cylinder to rotate.
Now it functions. I do not know.
I do not know what it is, but double action is very hard when the revolver is loaded
It's OK when the gun is empty.
What seams to be the problem, I really do not know.
But if it is like this on every M83 model, then the revolver is garbage.
See when you pull the trigger quickly, it never gets stuck.
As we see all fired.
The problem is when you slowly pull.
Not good synchronization between the notch here, and the notch that moves the cylider.
See.
Because this does not drop sufficiently and this moves to push the cylinder and the two interlace.
That seams to be the problem.
Came up to here and stops.
it jams.
This is probably falt on this specimen, not on all M83 revolvers.
Just on this one.
Before we start with the description we want to thank our buddies
from YouTube channel Polenar Tactical from Slovenia who sent us this t-shirt that I'm wearing today.
Zastava M83 is a revolver chambered in .357 magnum and .38 special.
It was produced by factory Zastava Arms.
Revolvers in this region enjoy great popularity as powerful weapons that, realistically, they are.
For their popularity are to blame westerns as well as films such as Dirty Harry.
Due to the popularity Zastava in the mid eighties launched their first
.357 revolver, and named it P-83, although the model name is M83.
Revolver was made in K frame.
Drum capacity 6 rounds. Can fire ammunition .357 and .38 Special.
With an appropriate adapter, by replacing the drum, it could fire a 9mm Luger.
This is because the diameter of .357 and .38 ammunition corresponds approximately to 9mm ammunition.
Here we test the effect of .357 magnum to ballistics gel.
We use two types of bullets, FMS and HP, that is ideal for self--defense.
Let's see. First FMS.
Wow, this carries great striking power, this hollow point.
Cool, let's take a look.
We tried to capture both bullets with this water bottle.
However both of them have passed and ended somewhere in the backstop.
.357 carries a lot of energy.
As we can see here. This pointed FMS bullet.
Here's where it came out.
It entered here. So it made a considerable damage. What you see here.
That's all from it.
See the wound.
Now we see down the hollow point bullet.
Look at that.
Look at that huge wound.
These channels are 3cm in diameter.
Look at that depth.
And then when it lost all the power it just came out.
and made a smaller channel forwards.
These are pieces of lead.
But here again at the beginning.
This is the FMS and this is down from HP.
Look at those wounds.
A mess.
First some technical information about this revolver.
Zastava M83 is 225 mm long.
Barrel length is 4 inches or 100 mm.
A weight varies depending on the barrel.
There are variants of the 2.5 inches barrel, 4 inches and 6 inches.
Weight of this model is 1 kg.
One of the disadvantages of this revolver is that does not have second drum lock.
Also a major disadvantage is extremely heavy double action.
First, of course, check that there are no bullet in the cylinder.
Pulling the trigger on a double action is very, very difficult.
We do not have anything to be able to measure how much force is neaded.
But on the Internet, people who measured, say it is around 7 kg.
Very heavy.
On single action. The trigger is excellent.
When we take a look at the revolver, up on the top we see rear sight milled in the frame.
We have these serations that prevent glare when shooting.
and front sight.
They are very small. And it's very difficult to aim.
Although in time you can get used to them.
As we have already mentioned grip, for people with slightly larger hands is quite small.
Let's try and precision of M83 at 10 meters shooting PPU FMS bullet.
Only single action.
That's it.
Here we can see the precision at 10 meters with Zastava .357 revolver.
Excellent.
This gun is known for being accurate.
Here we have 6 holes all in a group of around a little less than 10 centimeters. What is great for revolver.
We also noticed.
The more we shoot this revolver during this review
Now it functions perfectly
It does not jam as it had at the beginning.
It is possible because this is a new gun,k old but not used.
Since it was bought it only fired 6 rounds.
So far wer fired around twenty round so maybe we broke in the revolver.
We'll see further on.
When we reviewed Vis 35 we tested penetration of 9mm on copy paper.
Many of you asked us to repeat the test with other calibers.
Let's see what the .357 magnum will do
If I remember correctly 9mm went through about 300 pieces.
Let's see .357.
We can already see that the .357 went through all 500 sheets of paper and stopped here in the board.
And it's pretty tight. Well not exactly tight. But behold, here it is.
There is no need to open the papers we see it got through all 500 pieces. Uh, it's pretty hot.
And here's whats left of the FMS bullet.
One of the bad things after which are the revolvers known for is Russian roulette.
Do not try this at home, we're doing this in a controlled environment for the sake of science.
When you do not know when will it fire, it is tricky.
This cabbage is a lucky one.
It FINALY ran out of luck.
For cleaning the revolvers are very grateful because no need to disassemble
Take out the cylinder, and the gun is practically ready for basic cleaning after shooting.
You have access to a drum to clean. Access to clean barrel.
Of course, you can use tooth brush to clean this part here and around the mechanism.
And no need to further disassemble and assemble the gun for a basic cleaning and maintenance after the shooting.
Aa, a miss.
Now we have no more jaming as we had at the beginning with this revolver.
So it seems to me we have broke in the revolver it now works flawlessly.
As always, be safe!!
When using firearms safety first.
In this case, when using the revolver.
and take it off the table or from the safe, assume that the gun is loaded.
First, keep your finger off the trigger.
Move this forward and pushing with other hand, drop the cylinder.
Looking visually whether there is no ammunition.
We return the cylinder.
And only now we are safe.
We take ammunition.
Putting in.
We're closing.
Cocking the hammer we prepare the revolver for shooting because it is very difficult on single action.
When we grip the revolver. It's not like pistol, to grip like this.
We block the cylinder rotation. Second here hot gases escape that may injure the finger.
We're griping up here and descend the thumb down
How these gases may cause physical injury to the shooter, we can now see
Ivan, please.
Look. Injury gurantied .
If you do not want to continue to shoot. We still have ammunition in the cylinder.
Opening. On this arm here we push and drop the ammo.
Close the cylinder, and the revolver is safe
People mostly procure revolvers for self--defense.
This one is of course acquired with that purpose.
But the owner of the revolver put in a drawer and there it was laying.
As we saw at the beginning of the video after certain amount of ammo fired, revolver
did not work properly.
As the test progressed, the it started to function.
So if you buy it for self--defense and put in a drawer, you can not expect to be 100% reliable.
You should take it to the range and shoot it. The same applies to pistols and rifles.
.
In the opinion of many experts, the main drawback of this revolver is that it has a weak frame.
for "strong" bullet, as well as the excessive loss of gases beatwen cylinder and barrel.
Another M83 drawback is a small grip handle, at least for me.
However in my opinion for the money for witch can be found used, Zastava .357 magnum is excellent revolver.
Of course it could not par with Smith & Wesson and Ruger, but its price is ten times smaller.
In addition to self--defense it is excelent.
I say this because of the fire power and reliability of the system.
It is impossible, of course, after some period of break-in,
it is impossible for revolver to jam.
However I would not recommend it for beginners as the first weapon
because the firing one, for the most inexperienced shooters, is trauma.
Kickback and strength of the shot suprises meny, which are much stronger,
then with the pistol.
However after spending some time with revolver at the shooting range,
you realize that it is something special :) 173 00:20:01,140 --> 00:20:03,400 This was another episode on DumDum Channel.
