I have heard that there is a girl in Rwamagana
rides a bicycle as fast as the wind.
This girl goes so fast that no boyfriend can follow her.
She has fight in her,
she rides for a purpose.
She has the capacity
to change so many lives in Africa.
I was praying to God...
..because she was born with my father's looks,
I named her Jeanne D'Arc.

My training starts at 9am.
We stop at 12...
..and have lunch at 12.30.
After lunch we take some time to relax.
I definitely remember when she first came here.
She is shorter than me
and she has a 5cm higher seat than I do.
She's all femur.
Her test did very well,
I was actually very impressed with her test.
I was not looking at finding a woman cyclist
with as strong qualities as she has.
When she was five years old...
she started riding a bike, falling off,
she didn't give up.
At the age of 12, she started carrying people,
sometimes a bag of stones.

Later she started carrying children.
I tried to forbid that but she wouldn't obey me.
The first time I won a race my mum was happy.
She told me that it was in our genetics
because we have a runner in our family.
She is an incredible time triallist,
she got second in the Continental Championships
this year alone, only after two years of racing.
She has the potential to be on a world tour team,
and with that she will be
one of the first black African riders
that will excel in Europe and USA.

I want to be stronger, to help other people.
It was just a dream to ride a bike.
Do you know about Jeanne D'Arc?
We met in a competition in Nyamirambo (Kigali).
She was faster than all of us,
we finished 30 minutes after her.
Culture of cycling for women is simply women don't ride bikes.
She's so much higher than the level of women cyclists here
in Rwanda that we try to bring in people
that she can compete with.
It gives her an idea of where she can be.
Our goal, our vision is to field
the first all-black African professional women's team.
This is just the start, you don't see women cyclists
other than South Africa, it's pretty exciting.
I think Rwanda is just beginning in cycling,
ten years ago when I came here it was really almost nothing.
For Team Rwanda, I think of Team Rwanda
as still in its infancy.
We've learned a lot, especially over the last couple of years,
we've started to have success,
but now it's morphing into Team Africa Rising,
that we're helping more and more countries,
realising that Rwanda can be the catalyst.
I don't have the energy and power that you have,
but I would love to reach your level.
I started just like you, if you are talented,
nothing can stop you.
I took advice from different people,
for example Adrien Niyonshuti.

It would be great for Rwanda.
It was great in 2012 when Adrien Niyonshuti
became the first Rwandan and the first black African to
ever finish the cross-country mountain bike race.
That was epic.
Jeanne D'Arc being in the 2020 Olympics,
that would be epic for sure.
For her career, it's not the end-all be-all.
They will be the next generation that helps foster
the sport of cycling in their country and coming
from people who have done it, Rwandans who have done it,
its going to be so much more powerful.

After I started cycling I decided myself

Cycling is growing very fast in Rwanda.

We started out on these simple bikes, even worse than these.
The standard of cycling we have today
came from taxi bike riders.
The local district encouraged cycling clubs
to organise small races
and that is how they identify the best.

All over the world, to win a competition,
you have to be crazy.
You fight...no jokes.
You can see the riders
fight to the final line until they fall down.
There is no country in Africa where you see
as many taxi bikes and transporters.
You know, nine years ago, professional cycling
was really not even here in Rwanda.
It's kind of odd that they didn't have
a developed racing culture, and it actually makes
my job testing riders much easier because 90%
of our riders come from taxi bikes.
And I think it even gave more value to
these taxi bike riders because
in the past they've been kind of, the low level,
they're just taxi bike riders.
But now you got these taxi bike riders,
that all of a sudden are going to the Olympics.

And that's pretty remarkable, and it's an amazing story

Tesla: Supercharging Peak Battery Temperature Part 1 - Duration: 12:36.
ok so we're super charging right now and
I wanted to test a little theory so
we're at 94 kilowatt charge rate which
is about the maximum for my 9th ed due
to lots of software changes by tesla and
i should say we're not even going to
test the theory we're going to see at
what point the car starts tapering down
the charge due to temperature now i
should be able to maintain a 94 kilowatt
charge rate to about sixty percent right
now we're at 51.9 and it's going up
quick max temperature is at one hundred
and seven point nine degrees Fahrenheit
minimum is 104.4 max is now 108 charge
rates still holding good at 94 kilowatt
take a peek at the cells right now and
those soils are really out of balance at
the moment 36 millivolt difference while
yes we could also see what the max
temperature for the car is right now
cooling fans have kicked in but the air
conditioning compressor has not adhered
now the scroll compressor for the
cooling is kicking in so we must be
reaching the upper thermal limit for the
pack we're at fifty three-point-seven
percent state-of-charge still holding at
94 kilowatt not bad how if I would have
started the charge at a lower state of
charge i started it at 106 miles in the
pack we're at 145 now so but if I would
have started it lower like around 20 or
30 miles left in the pack we would have
gotten limited to about 65 or 70 quite a
while ago just due to the inability of
the car too cool fast enough to keep
those charge rates we're still at 94
kilowatt max temperature so the hottest
bank of cells is now at 109 point 4
degrees now in general the rule of thumb
is 113 degrees is usually going to be
your thermal cutoff where you don't
really want to get them too much hotter
than that while charging otherwise you
get accelerated degradation actually
holy crap charge rate just went up we
just went up to 95 kilowatt charger e
and this is at a fifty five point six
percent state of charge maybe it's this
new firmware
we're now at 110 degrees Fahrenheit
it's a beautiful 55 degree day 100 in to
roll my window
just drove to my Chicago and gotten
banker at the plus and ferry
supercharger
110.5 now when we just saw a drop or now
294 kilowatt but we're borderlining as
we're reaching a sixty percent state of
charge I will also be seeing the drop in
charge rate due to the backpack filling
up let's just take a look at ourselves
at the moment we have our highest
voltage cell is 4.07 four volts of 37
millivolt spread 100 10.9 yet it seems
to be holding at that a bit now we're at
92 kilowatt
111 point one now the air conditioning
doesn't seem to be going full blast
either 11.2 still at 92 k 1 i'd say
anything over 90 is excellent for my
ninth ed pack my original model s 60
kilowatt malice had charge rates up to
115 kilowatt the highest I've ever seen
my 90 was about a hundred and four and
that was on firmware seven one of the
last flavors of firmware seven once they
switched to firmware eight we lost a lot
of our high charge charge rates so now
we're at one hundred and eleven point
five sixty percent state of charge and
we just dropped 290 kilowatt
four point zero eight seven volts on the
highest voltage cell 11.7 degrees
11.8

sixty-two percent state of charge

degrees my theory is if we hit 113
degrees is when the charging or the
cooling system is going to start going
full blast but our charge rate destruct

should start dropping a lot quicker now
looks like I'm going to have to try this
again at a much lower state of charge so
that way I can completely rule out
charge taper 112 point2 I'd still be
interesting to see what the thermal loan
falta thermal limit is where the car
does whatever I can to cool the pack
let's check voltages 4.1 02 volts on the
highest level cells 4.0 69 4.0 70 on the
lowest 112 point 3 volts
84 kilowatts at 64.6 see how that just
starts dropping 83 now in a hundred and
twelve point 4 volts
this cameras getting heavy in 12.5
for some reason I always have a
temperature spike on that one bank of
cells right there that one for some
reason always reads quite a bit higher
than the rest I don't know if it's a
faulty temperature sensor

again at a lower state of charge but

TO THE DECREE OF ALMIGHTY GOD AND THAT INDIVIDUAL STATES
SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO MAKE THEIR OWN MARRIAGE LAWS.
KNOW, INDIVIDUAL STATES SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO MAKE
THEIR OWN MARRIAGE LAWS BECAUSE IT IS A CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE AND

Top 12 animals with the most amazing opposable thumbs – plus an honorable mention - Duration: 9:21.
In honor of Opposable Thumb Day, I've put together a list of the top 12 animals with
the most amazing opposable thumbs – plus an honorable mention that I won't mention
quite yet.
We all know opposable thumbs are awesome. Look at your hand and think of all the things
you couldn't do if you didn't have an opposable thumb. Eating, writing, texting,
the list is enormous. But did you know – humans haven't cornered the market on opposable
thumbs? In honor of national opposable thumbs day, I'm going to count down the top animals
who have achieved opposable thumbs!
Gorillas are gentle apes that live in Africa. You'll recognize them by their stocky bodies
and long, long arms. You might also remember the brownish hair that covers most of their
body but weirdly, not their fingers, palms, face, or armpits – that might put them one
up on humans right there – no pit shaving.
Beyond all that - Gorilla's have hand a lot like a humans with five fingers and an
opposable thumb. They have one up though in that they have an opposable big toe too! This
allows them to grasp things with both their hands and their feet!
Like the gorilla, orangutans are large apes with very long arms. Unlike the gorilla, they
live primarily in Asia and spend most of their time in trees. Given a name that means man
of the forest, its no surprise that Orangutans have hands a lot like a human .
They have four long fingers and an opposable thumb they use to grasp things just like you.
Again, getting a step one up on the human so to speak, orangutan's also have four
long toes with an opposable big toe that lets them be as effective at grabbing with their
feet as they are with their hands.
Amongst the most adorable of the great apes with an opposable thumb is the chimpanzee.
Native to the Congo Jungle in Africa, chimps are well known for their intelligence, their
social attitudes and their adorable personalities but less known is that they not only have
opposable thumbs but studies indicate their thumbs might actually be better than a humans.
Chimps are known for using tools and its possible that their need to survive made them better
at grasping than humans. Having extremely dexterous thumbs lets the chimp gather food
more efficiently and may be one reason they have survived and flourished as well as they
have in this ever changing, rapidly humanizing world of ours.
Very similar to the Chimpanzee, the Bonobo also made our top 15 list. The bonobo is sometimes
called a dwarf chimpanzee but it's a different animal all together. Also hailing for the
Congo, the Bonobo is smart and sports and amazingly opposable thumb that they have proven
efficient at using in some of the same ways as people.
They use their thumbs as part of communication, to gather food, to play musical instruments,
and even to use tools.
The Lar Gibbon and the White Cheeked Gibbon are another species of ape. Hailing from Asia,
gibbons spend most of their lives in trees where their slender build and long arms allow
them to be acrobats of the forest. A gibbons hands are a lot like a humans with four long
fingers and a smaller, opposable thumb but like some other apes, they step it up a little
with four long toes and an opposable big toe.
Gibbons put their hands and feet to good use and are able to grasp and carry things with
any of the four while using one of the other opposable hands or feet to grasp tree branches
like a hook as they swing along – hardly ever touching the ground.
No surprise, the Macaque an old world monkey that has managed to spread into many regions
of the world including Japan, India, North Africa and Southern Europe make the list.
There are 23 species of macaque and they all look and act a little different from each
other but one thing they all have in common is their wonderfully dexterous hands that
allow them to feast on tiny seeds, strip plants free of leaves and flowers and play their
funky monkey games.
Some macaques are kept as pets, many live in zoos around the world and a few, like the
Liontail Macaque in Southeast Asia, have even been trained to put those thumbs to use doing
jobs like picking coconuts for humans.
And finally to finish up the primates we have the Grivet also known as the African Green
Monkey. Its not really green, but clothed in shades of brown fru with white tufts of
hair on the sides of its face and black hands, feet, and facial skin.
The Grivet spends its life hanging in the savanna woodlands and is known to put its
thumbs to good use grooming its fellow grivets, climbing and most importantly, playing. Play,
including play fighting, makes up a lot of the Grivet's day and is really important
to its survival as Givet's are social creatures that travel in packs and they need to prove
their worth to ensure they keep their positions in the pack.
Perhaps the most obvious noted use of a thumb is the use of both hands to carry food, young,
and anything else they decide is worth hanging onto.
But monkeys aren't the only ones with thumbs!
Number 8 on our list is the opossum. While some people consider the possum an ugly rat
like critter, they are actually pretty cool. The only marsupial in North America, the possum
prefers woodland habits with a stream, river or marsh nearby but its also a highly adaptable
creature who is more than happy to live in your yard if the opportunity arises.
The possum spends its night on a constant search for food and puts its thumbs to amazing
use rummaging through your trash can, stealing whatever they want and even opening containers
if you leave them out and unattended. Beyond their thumb, the possum has a prehensile tail
they use sort of like an extra limb.
What does that mean? It means watch out for the possum because between its opposable thumb
and its tail it can get into 5 times the trouble as an average critter.
Next up is the awesome Giant Panda Panda's are well known for their habit of spending
14 to 16 hours a day eating bamboo but did you know they have adapted a unique thumb
just for the purpose of eating? Now that's some dedication to fine cuisine.
The panda thumb is actually a modified wrist bone that scientists believe developed thumb
like skills because pandas are actually meant to be meat eaters and only absorb about 20-30%
of bamboo nutrients compared to the average plant eaters 80% absorption abilities.
What this means in a nutshell is the panda isn't actually meant to be a plant eater
and because they have adapted to the vegetarian lifestyle they have to eat a LOT of food – up
to 100 pounds a day in the spring so they need the thumb adaptation to speed things
up or they would starve.
Number 10 on the list is the Koala – not koala bear since these little cuties aren't
actually bears at all but marsupials or animals that carry their young in a pouch and are
actually most closely related to the wombat of all things. That's not the weird thing
though Koala's not only have a thumb, they have two!
The first two fingers on a koala's hand are both like thumbs. These appendages wrap
around branches and give the Koala, who spends so much time in the tree they grew fur butt
pads to protect themselves from pain, a firm grip so that they can eat, sleep and pretty
much spend their whole lives in a tree. Without thumbs, the Koala would have to be a very
different creature.
Quite a few frogs have thumbs but my favorite is the Waxy Monkey Frog – really its just
that its name makes me laugh. Anyway, these frogs are among the 30 or so tree frogs that
secrete a waxy substance that helps them avoid getting all dried out and nasty.
As with many of the frogs in this family, the Waxy Monkey Frog spend their lives in
trees and have opposable thumbs that they use to grip the branches so they don't take
a nasty fall. Waxy Monkey Frogs are also somewhat popular in the pet industry so do some searching,
maybe you can see those thumbs in action for yourself and have the pleasure of saying,
I have a waxy monkey…frog that is.
Next up is the Loris, a primate from India and Asia that can be found hanging in the
tropical rainforest, scrub forest, swamps and even suburban gardens. The loris is an
adorable little thing with huge eyes, amazing vision something like a cats, but dare I say
it, even better!
The loris is an omnivore with a unique feature beyond the opposable thumb that helps it grip
prey and branches alike. The loris is a poisonous primate. Yeah, you heard right. It has this
weird patch inside its elbow that is filled with venom. When danger approaches, the loris
licks the inside of its elbow to coat its teeth with venom giving its bite a little
extra nasty.
If the thumbs and unique venom pouch aren't enough to freak you out – the loris actually
poisons its own kids. A mommy loris will coat its young with venom to keep predators away
while its off using those opposable thumbs to snatch up some food.
That's my list of the top 12 animals with the most amazing thumbs but I'm not quite
done for the day. One special creature deserves an honorable mention. The Aye Aye.
The Aye Aye, a species of Lemur that some consider the ugliest animal ever but I think
they are rather cute.
The Aye Aye is not only the largest nocturnal primate, but as I said, its one of the weirdest
looking of them all with a long tail, shaggy dark colored fur and white guard hairs on
its face. And oh that face. Its got huge eyes, a pink nose and rat like teeth that grow continuously
throughout its life.
Aye Ayes spend their lives in trees, though they can come down if they want, they almost
never. This list is supposed to be about thumbs but the aye ayes middle finger deserves a
mention since there is nothing else quite like it in the animal world.
The aye aye has a long middle finger that sits on a ball and socket joint – like your
shoulder.
This long, weird finger can rotate 360 degrees and ends n a specialized claw that acts sort
of like a hook and the aye aye puts these two features to good use in keeping itself
fed. It taps the trees where it lives to find grubs then gnaws a hole in the wood then stuffs
its long middle finger into the hold and swivels until it catches itself some grub literally.

This Is Not What Space Looks Like - Duration: 3:40.
There are so many incredible images of space floating around out there.
But is this what space really looks like?
Well, kinda…
Let's start with these big, sweeping images of nebulas and star-forming regions.
We can't talk about these space images without taking a quick look at the electromagnetic
spectrum.
We can only see this narrow band of visible light.
But on the shorter end tending towards x-rays and the longer end tending towards microwaves,
there is still a lot of information for scientists to glean, so they use telescopes that can
see in these wavelengths that are invisible to our eye.
Astronomers take that data and shift the colour information to frequencies that we can see
while keeping relative colours constant.
This doesn't mean they're not real… it's sort of like changing the key of a
song — it sounds different but still the same.
Let's take Hubble as an example.
Hubble can see in visible light like we can, but using specialize instruments it can also
see in ultraviolet and infrared light.
Light information hits the digital camera sensor as a greyscale image -- yep, those
amazing hubble images have no color.
Then astronomers add colour data and adjust for known wavelengths, adding corresponding
colours and patching different shots together to give a complete picture.
A great example is these two images of the Pillars of Creation… three columns of cold
gas in a star-forming region of the Eagle Nebula.
The one on the left is seen in visible light and the one on the right is seen in infrared
light.
Looking in the infrared, Hubble could see through the gas and dust -- that blocks our
vision -- to show stars forming inside the pillars.
So space sort of looks like both of these images, but it also doesn't… it takes
processing and adding colour data to get this kind of rich detail.
But there's another type of space image: the artist's rendering.
These are some of the most exciting images, and also the ones that demand the most guesswork.
Let's take this image of Trappist-1f as an example.
Trappist-1f is part of the Trappist-1 system, we have a video on it.
So, how do we know what the surface looks like?
Well, we don't.
Because this is what the data looks like.
But artists consulted with scientists to make this image.
First, astronomers used the Spitzer telescope to estimate of the mass of the planet, and
its density; from this information, the scientists figured out that 1f is likely a rocky planet.
Then, from transit measurements astronomers know the planet orbits close to its star,
way closer than Mercury does our Sun, so the star would look big in the sky.
But that star is an ultra-cool dwarf, so it's possible for liquid water to exist on the
surface of the planet!
So they put that in the image too.
And, finally, because the other planets in the system orbit close to 1f, the scientists
think you might be able to see them in the sky.
Et voila!

So, even if these images aren't exactly what we'd see if we were to visit the Pillars
of Creation (which are gone now, by the way) or Trappist-1f…
These images not only give us vital information, they kind of remind us how exciting it is
to find new things in space.

creature in nature, known by many only because of how unnaturally fugly it is.
So, why wouldn't you want a plushy version of it?
It's not going to serve too much of a purpose, except maybe make you feel better about your

You know you're going to wind up purchasing one of these pink, big-nosed plushes, but
you also know within 14 days, it's going to be covered in dust or become your dog's
new love toy.

Beyond looking like a fool, there's no purpose for this inflatable T-Rex costume beyond Halloween,
but that's not going to stop you from dropping a little of your hard-earned cash on it.
It's become an internet sensation, to the point where it's already been overused and
has lost its charm.
With that said, you can still use it to torture friends and family and lounge around in while
you watch Jurassic Park – and that seems more than worth the purchase.

Ash Ketchums Top 5 BEST Battles in the Pokémon Anime - Woopsire - Duration: 5:48.

As long as there have been pokemon games, there has been an anime to follow with it.
While I've never been a diehard fan, i did check it out before going to school in the
mornings.
I think my favorite things to watch would have to be Ash's major battles in the series.
They were always the most action packed and very thrilling things to watch whether it
be because of the fast paced action or the raw power ash was forced to face.
Whether by luck or the skin of his teeth, sometimes Ash was able to pull out a victory
and sometimes he just fell flat on his face.
Lets go ahead and take a look at some of these awesome battles.

Remember when I talked about Ash falling flat on his face?
Of course you do it was only like 20 seconds but to call this battle that would be a complete
understatement.
Tobias totally mops the floor with ash and I think that's why I love this battle so much.
I also love how it showcases Darkrai's power and strength, as it almost singlehandedly
took down ash.
I might also be a little bit biased as Darkrai is one of my favorite legendary pokemon but
that doesn't matter.
Although I have to give Ash and Sceptile props, as ash was able to pull sceptile from the
void and that takes some skill.
I would've really liked to see just what pokemon Tobias was able to recruit to his
team though, since i'm sure if he had a Darkrai and Latios then he had to have an incredibly
powerful arsenal backing him.
I will give Ash props where it is deserved however, since he managed to technically take
out tobias's latios and darkrai.

Ash vs Gary is a very nostalgic battle and there was no way I couldn't include it here.
I think the cool thing about this battle specifically is how much it meant to Ash and Gary.
It's like the peak of their rivalry, and everything they've done and experienced up to that
point has led up to it.
Also the fact that both Ash and Gary both kept their piece of the pokeball they fought
over before the start of their journeys is true friendship goals.
It's also pretty action packed, especially the classic charizard vs blastoise battle.
In a fight that in game would clearly go to blastoise in pretty much any situation Ash
was able to pull through with Charizard by breaking out the strategies.
Something I really like about watching the anime battles is that it's not just a case
of power vs power, it takes raw strategy sometimes to pull off a victory.

Fast forwarding a few seasons to the xyz anime, which side note is probably the best season
of pokemon yet, we have Ash vs Alain.
Not only was this beautifully animated with the gorgeous fight scenes but it was also
the premier of the clash of 2 crazy strong mons.
On top of that my favorite regular battle would probably be the epic sky battle between
unfezant and talonflame.
The real reason this fight was so epic was the clash between mega zard x and ash greninja.
These two forms going toe to toe made for an epic clash of giants and again the animation
made it so much more amazing.
The scene was just awesome and is one of my favorite fights in all of the anime.

Next up is Ash vs. Drake.
No not that drake, this one, from the orange islands.
This featured another full 6 on 6 battle featuring some unique pokemon that I feel most champions
wouldnt have.
His team featured a Ditto, Onix, Gengar, Venusaur, Electabuzz, and of course his powerful ace
Dragonite.
This is another action packed battle that actually puts ash ahead at the start, only
for Drake to send out his dragonite and sweep half of Ashs team while even pausing to send
team rocket flying.
Another reason I actually really like this battle is because its one of the two league
championships hes won, the other being the battle frontier and its all around just an
epic display of skill on both sides.
Except for this comment here *play the ditto clip* that really bugged me, silly ash

And finally my all time favorite battle ever has to be Ash vs Paul.
It reminds me a lot of Ash vs Gary but its 10 times better.
While being action packed with a full 6 on 6 battle, raw power isnt going to be enough
to get a victory in this battle.
What I love so much about this is that it takes strategizing to a whole new level, transcending
anything that could be accomplished inside of a video game.
Such as infernape digging under the arena and using a powerful flare blitz to get rid
of the toxic spikes.
Not only the battle was amazing, but so was the entire series.
Getting to see Pauls character development over time and seeing him grow as a trainer
all felt like it was leading up to this moment.
He goes from having the mentality that pokemon are tools to seeing them as friends.
Also I feel it is an important battle for Infernape as well, as Paul wasnt exactly the
nicest to chimchar.
All in all this is just an amazing match, one might even say
that its the best.

Is Science and Math Important in Med School? | Snapchat Q&A Session about Medical School - Duration: 7:50.
Hi everyone!
So today I'm gonna be doing another Q&A.
This time I got some questions from snapchat as well as some of the most frequently asked
questions on YouTube.
Let's get started!
Question: Hi Jamie, I would love to know what was your hardest class in your first year
of medical school?
Is it like gross anatomy or histology?

So my hardest class in first year of medical school.
I wanna say the hardest class to study for was probably BMS--basic medical sciences,
so a lot of biochemistry and the things that you have to learn to do well in MCAT, just
because I didn't really wanna study for those things anymore but you still have to learn
it.
The hardest class in terms of exams I thought was probably cardiology because there was
a ton of physiology and the way the questions were written in the exams were really tricky.
There was one exam where I wasn't sure how I did, so I think that was the hardest exam
that I studied for.
But BMS was the hardest class to study for.
Next question!
Question: If you know you wanna be a doctor but you don't like sciences and math.
Is it still worth going through all those years of science and math so that you can
become a doctor?
So, it really depends on science and math.
There is science in medicine.
There is a little bit of math in medicine.
If you really hate all of science and all of math then maybe it's not worth it.
But that said, a lot of the tedious details of basic science and math isn't really used
all that much once you get to a certain level in studying medicine.
So for example, up until first and second year of medical school and up until you take
your first board exam (step 1) you do have to know basic things like glycolysis, kreb
cycle and all that but once you take Step 1, starting Step 2 and Step 3 there is a lot
less of that basic science and a lot more clinical, medical knowledge.
So it becomes a little more fun if you're interested in learning actual medicine and
learning how to take care of patients.
When it comes to math, I wanna say--I don't know what the requirements are for taking
MCAT and applying to med school these days but I took up to Calculus and I can tell you
right now that you don't have to use Calculus in med school.
I think the hardest math that you probably have to do is maybe calculating pH and some
of that chemistry math.
But there's not a ton of advance math.
Next question: Hi Jamie!
My question is in regards to your residency, what are you most excited about and what are
you most afraid of?
I think for residency, the thing that I'm most excited about and the thing that I'm
most scared of is probably the same thing: responsibility.
It's exciting to apply everything that you've learned in medical school and to actually
be responsible for patients and come up with different plans to make your patients better.
But I think that's also the scary thing.
Luckily in residency, you have a lot of checks and balance.
There's always somebody checking your work and making sure you're not making a mistake
but I think as you go further and further in residency and when you become an independent
physician there is less of that so I think if you make a mistake you can directly impact
your patient care.
So I think that's something that is exciting and scary at the same time.

So I did!
I did actually consider getting lasik surgery before starting medical school.
I had actually gone to the accepted students or the info session and I asked the medical
students "oh do you know anybody who got lasik surgery?" and they said they had.
But just from hearing experiences of people who have gotten it.
I heard that very few percentage of people sometimes get like blurry vision or night
time vision changes so I didn't wanna quite get it before med school just in case I wanna
go into something like surgery and I really need that visual acuity so I didn't get it
but I did think about it.

Defund the NEA and PBS? That's Criminal. | Tribeca Film Festival Co-founder Jane Rosenthal - Duration: 4:37.
When we started the Tribeca Film Festival, which we announced in 2001 right after 9/11
to really bring people back to our neighborhood, our goal was to just bring as many people
back downtown as possible.
When we announced the first film festival we asked Nelson Mandela to come and speak.
Our city had been devastated.
Our country had been devastated by 9/11.
And as filmmakers we didn't know what to do other than literally to put on a show and
to try to give our neighborhood a new memory, to try to give New York a new memory.
And you just couldn't go like start running movies.
So Mandela came and he talked about when he was in Robben Island, when he was in prison;
That the one night that he and his jailers all looked forward to was movie night.
It's when they could come together and they could laugh about the same thing, they could
cry about the same thing and they were one.
It was finding their similarities, finding what was human about each of them, no matter
what side of the door either one was going to end up at at the end of the night.
And I always think back to that, and the sense of community of coming together as a community
to watch something is actually extraordinary.
When you look at the NEA and potential cuts to the NEA and you look at what would happen
to PBS, it's criminal.
The arts reflect what a country is.
The arts reflect who we are as a people.
And to lose that is losing part of our soul.
You know, the NEA has been – there have been other administrations that have tried
to cut the NEA before, but it's such a small amount in the budget.
And it is again a reflection of who we are as a people.
No matter where you are in the ecosystem of being a filmmaker, a producer, an actor, it
is always hard to get your project made.
Sometimes it happens very quickly but for the most part it's never easy.
Will artists get by?
Will we find a way to make it work?
Yes, but when I look and I talk to my friend Whoopi Goldberg some of her early work was
funded by the NEA.
There is a wonderful piece on YouTube of Mr. Rogers talking to Senator John O. Pastore
explaining what he did as Mr. Rogers on PBS.
And it's just so charming to listen to that, and you're going, "How can you cut that?"
One of the things is that our best exports becomes our shows, our entertainment.
And I remember reading a piece after I think it was Nick Kristof writing about how when
they first went into Afghanistan in the 90s and people were digging up their old VRs after
the Taliban had left at that time.
They were going into their backyard and digging up VRs and they were coming with their dirty
old VRs that they had buried, and the Titanic—And cassettes of the Titanic.
I mean they love our movies.
They don't always love us, but movies do remain — and I mean stories, our stories
become— one of our most valuable exports.

topic of this video I just want to say
thank you to all of the lovely people who
left comments on my last video. I was
feeling pretty bad, um, I am feeling much
better, nothing has actually changed in
my life, but I feel better. such is the
nature of depression sometimes, so... you know,
thank you for your support. so, comparing
yourself to others: some people say just
don't do it, which I think is just about
as helpful as telling someone with
anxiety "just don't be anxious!" or someone
with depression "just don't feel bad"
so helpful, thank you, I never would have
thought of that. it is so easy, especially
these days with the internet and social
media to find examples of people who are
your age or even younger who are
"successful" in life, or who have some
great accomplishments when you feel like
you haven't done anything. and it is so
easy to make yourself feel bad because
you haven't become rich or famous or
"successful" or because someone else seems
prettier or smarter or more popular than
you. I personally wouldn't say just never
compare yourself to others because it
can be a great source of motivation and
inspiration to better yourself, to better
your life, that's a good thing. it just
becomes unhealthy when the main reaction
you get out of it is that you're not
good enough. and obviously the reason why
people say just don't compare yourself
to others is because you are good enough,
and at lot of at the time you're comparing
apples to oranges. like age isn't the
only factor here, it's not a race where
the first person to the finish line is
the one person who becomes successful
there's no finish line in life. ...well I
guess there's death? because you're,
you're pretty much done once you're dead.
...this is not the way I was planning to
talk about this. anyway, for example, I am
22. I will be 23 in a few days. I haven't
started my career yet. out of all the
people I graduated with, I'm the only one
who hasn't found a job in our field. and
it weighs on me sometimes, but you know
what? I don't compare myself to them
because I know it will only make me feel
bad. and obviously that's not helpful,
to just be like "don't compare yourself, the
end, I fixed everything." so here's what
helps me. my brain is very logical so I think of
reasons why it doesn't make sense to
compare our situations. I've been dealing
with my own stuff since graduation with
my family, with my health. I'm the only
one who's trans so that does make it
more difficult to find a job. and I had
the most financial challenges right off
the bat, going into school, so I was the
only one who wasn't able to do unpaid
internships or internships with any sort
of living expense during the summers. I
just worked to pay off my education. and
the other part of that I don't just
sit here and go "I don't have a career
and that's okay." I'm still actively
working at my current job and applying
where I can, but making myself feel bad
about my situation won't help anything.
that example might not be the most like
#relatable topic so I'm going to
give you another example. I'm a youtuber
right? been doing this for a little while,
made a few videos. there are so, so many
people on this platform that I could
compare myself to and feel really bad. if
we're going by age, there's dodie she is
great. I love her content, she's just... ah
and she just turned 22 this week, so she
is just about a full year younger than I
am... and she just hit a million
subscribers. I've hit... not even a thousand. so.
but you know what? good for her. she has
been doing this for longer than I have,
she had different content, and she
absolutely deserves this. I am genuinely
happy for her. we just happen to share a
platform, and just because she found
success doesn't mean I can't find my own.
I don't even know what I'd do with a
million subscribers. and when I was
starting out it seemed like I'd never hit
a hundred, and now I have all of you
lovely people, so honestly no matter what
aspect of life you look at, no matter who
you are, there's always going to be
someone you can compare yourself to that
seems better than you at something. there's
always going to be someone who's
prettier or smarter or more attractive
or seems like they have more friends or
more subscribers or whatever. but you can
choose how you think about that. if
you're inspired by them, great, but you
have to remember that you're your own
unique person and there's no one who
could be quite like you. so it really
doesn't make sense to base your self-worth
on your perception of others.
basically you're great, you're valid just
as you are. and if you want to make
yourself better? awesome. so I hope you

Short's Brewing Cat's Pajamas Beer Review 2017 - Duration: 8:05.
Welcome back everybody I'm Brad I'm
Jessica and today we have a beer review
for you from Short's brew this is called
Cat's Pajamas again obviously with
Shorts they do not put the ABV and IBUs
on the bottle you have to go to
their website or untappd so this is a
nine percent ABV and 71 IBUs this one is
the winter beer fest and we didn't get
an opportunity to drink it because
Jessica was too busy buying swag hey do
you want some more you're not grateful
about your shirt or your beer signs or
your beer opener yeah I got a really
cool one is short you see this is a
double india pale ale brewed with blood
orange and guava yeah I'm I don't think
I'm going to like it but I'm going to
try it and Brad loves cats and Jessica
hates cats so that's why we're having the
cat's pajamas because I thought brad
would like I'm hoping um obviously if
you've watched some reviews that this
one isn't going to have a big malt taste
i'm guessing the guava is what they're
using happy up the ABV ok on it but we will see
we can mention that it was battle on 2-8
because i mention that 2-8-17 of 17 2-8-17
so off white head [kid talking] you need to be
quiet I know they glow in the dark small/medium
bubbles i guess all off white head not too
much head no i would say about a half a
finger yes mine's pretty white though
come mines off white mines a
pretty white color oh that's right clear
and golden color yeah I've got lot i
would say lots but medium and bubbles coming
if you want to say that
right smell that smells what kind of
like the one I just drink pine
yeah I like it's not a big pine it's
like mellow pine i dont know okay we're back I
i don't i'm getting pine but that's
that's about it taste it though
that's not bad at all I dont think it taste
tiny at all I'm definitely getting some
sourness like the blood orange I'm
getting thats coming yeah I like that I
am pleasantly surprised i actually like
that yeah mainly to me there's nothing
up front the blood orange / sourness is
in the back with some pine up front
let's go tart okay i'll go i'll agree
with the tart I don't think it and it
smells more pine that yes but that's
that's pretty good it's smooth I can't
taste any alcohol yeah the malts not
there right so the guava is covering
that up well they're using the guava to
up the ABV so I don't have to use much
malt okay well I think that that's a
good it's a good thing you taste any
sweetness a little bit a little bit but
oh it's that sweet like honey it's not a
sweet like the sugar of an orange right
you know but it's I don't I like it i mean
and I don't know that I would drink a
six-pack of it but will you be on the
floor well it's not it's not terrible I
would like to try it out of the tap and
see if it tastes more if they're the
orange is stronger if the guavas
stronger you know well I'm trying to
find out so there it's 70 ibus where's
the bitterness like I'm not I don't know
if that tartness of the blood orange is
in the guava is coming through yeah
the the hop so that's why you're not
getting any bitterness like because i'm
not getting fruitiness citrus
or pine
so I don't I'm trying to think what was
all the hops well I don't answer any
of that but that's okay go back to
what i sent before you went on your
little tangent of smells and tastes I'd
like to try it out of tap because i
think soft parade taste different out of the tap
its the same brewer wonder if it taste
different I like this this mixture
though and it seems like we've tried a
an IPA with blood orange and what maybe
I guava a bit but it wasn't as like
this is more mellow like this is one I
could drink I could drink the whole
bottle of it I'm probably wouldn't over
enjoy it right but it's um it's pleasant
it's a pleasant make sure and I think
they did a good job like that one what
would you give it out of 5 probably a
four based on the fact that I it's not
overpowering pine I'm just so worried
about the pines when it smells like that
that it's going to taste like that and
it doesn't and i like that it doesn't i
can deal with it smelling like one thing
and then that tasting like it though you
know that's okay but I another one for
short's I would go with a 4.5 for me okay
but for the beer I would probably go a
four okay because it's mostly a double
IPA okay I don't taste anything that
really tells me it's going to be an IPA
but for me it's almost like maybe a pale
ale with passion something yeah yeah
maybe that's why I like it an ale with
passion fruit or you know something like
that not passion for but blood
orange yeah and see that's probably why
i like it because i dont know if you guys can see it or not
but that's like what the nectar of the
goddess from latitude 42 is that i love was
blood orange passion fruit and honey
right honey but it was a wheat ale but
this taste
quite simulator my eyes yeah yeah what you
located so it's ok that's ok let me yeah
no it's not okay about you but it's ok
that's me it's a cat's pajamas right so
that will wrap up this review for Short's Brews Cat's
