Youtube daily report w Apr 17 2017

Hey Geeks, it's Andrea.

I am back again with the third episode of Geeky Sh*t On The Net.

Let's kick things off today with a classic here on youtube.

A video I have personally watched a few dozen times or more and sang in my car more than

I will ever admit to.

Though you've probably seen it, go remind yourself how awesome Team Four Star's version

of I'll make a Man Out Of You is.

Don't worry, I'll be here when you get back.

Dododododo…

Now that you're back, let's trigger ourselves with this horrible thing that happens all

the freaking time.

I'm over it, I swear I am not upset that this happens all the freaking time.

Let's calm ourselves down by watching this deer enjoy a nice relaxing leaf blower massage.

I don't think I've ever enjoyed anything as much as this deer is enjoying this.

But hey, I've also never hated anything as much as this cat hates their human right

now.

This person built a box or room out of some lucky charms, but I bet you could do better.

I would be willing to bet you could build a whole cereal castle.

Don't worry, I won't tell if you use royal icing.

It's time for a Flop Break.

Don't you hate it when your sibling tries steal your stuff?

This big pupper gets her revenge immediately.

I hate to admit this, but I will never be as cool as this pup.

Speaking of being cool.

This bird is about as stealth as they come.

Noooooo Uncle Ben!

I think it's time for some weird.

Zelda Milk by Lyle McDouchebag might scar you for life, but at least you'll laugh

your way through it.

Maybe you're like me and spend a lot of time on your phone lurking on reddit when

you are supposed to be asleep.

If you are, here are a few subreddits to occupy your time.

If you haven't figured out by now, pictures and videos of animals are probably my favorite

things on the internet.

Here is a subreddit completely dedicated to brushing animals.

Check it out, maybe it will give you an aww or two.

You can laugh at some old people figuring out Facebook and other technology sources

on Old People Facebook.

Just try not to cry when you realize you are going to be old AF someday.

Just try not to think about it at all.

I definitely try not to think about it.

If you like puns, be sure to check out 3amjokes.

The subreddit that can keep me laughing when I should definitely be asleep.

My favorite so far?

What's a vegetable that's always in line?

A queue-cumber.

Best.

Joke.

Ever.

If you ever watched one of your favorite gifs and thought, "this really needs more personality."

Then I have the perfect subreddit for you.

Real Life Doodles takes your everyday gifs and makes them a little more special.

Before we go, lets take a long at some pictures that just aren't quite what they seem.

This guy has some amazing legs.

And this one has a cute butt, dude.

Okay as far as couple pictures go that look weird…

This one makes my brain hurt just a bit.

This baby is destined for greatness.

Maybe a future giant, maybe a crazy tall runner.

Or maybe a super fast running giant.

Here is a baby who looks like he wants to be a super hero, but maybe he is just a giant

baby born to giant parents.

This is a perfect example of why you might want to be careful while taking a picture

with your little baby.

Especially if you're a dude wearing short shorts.

This kid has some crazy long arms.

Maybe he is a descendant of this boy.

Or slenderman, of course.

I mean you never really know.

Here is a picture that makes you want to look for a nice oil spill to stand next to so you

too can levitate.

You know the age old question…

Would you rather fly or be invisible?

This hockey player must have wished for invisibility.

I really hope that is hockey, or I look like a real idiot right now…

This man has a really gorgeous wedding dress.

It's a bit cheeky to be doing this in public, right?

Careful how tightly you hold your girl's head.

It might just shift on you.

Some people here were not aware that this is a nude beach.

I'd rather go to a nudist beach than have feet for hands.

I wonder what her Words Per Minute is?

This dog is so bad ass.

Look at how long his neck and upper body is.

If only we could all be so cool.

And last but not least, this deer has some glorious antlers.

As always all links are below.

What Went Wrong For Buemi? Nightmare Weekend At The Julius Baer Mexico City ePrix 2017 - Formula E - Duration: 1:39.

You've flown in at 3.30am this morning.

I cannot deny that the preparation is not as good

as it is normally.

So the chequered flag is out. Sébastien Buemi quickest,

a 1:02.164, a tenth clear of the rest of the pack.

Bit of a slide and on the grass through Turn 1!

What lap time is this gonna be? A 1:03.402.

Instantly, Di Grassi and Buemi are gonna be in the

pole shootout danger zone.

But Jack, they're a second off what they ran this morning!

Sébastien Buemi, down there in 10th.

That's not a happy Swiss chap, is it?

God no. Shaking his head there.

7th on the grid though, championship leader

Sébastien Buemi, Dario.

There's the attack and through goes Buemi,

past Felix Rosenqvist and up into 6th position.

So championship leader Buemi takes a place and is up to 6th.

That's a late move!

Here comes the outside look- oh, he's lost it! He's lost it and

he's gone! López bins it at Turn 1! And Buemi bins it with him!

Incredible!

Buemi was using the FanBoost as he went off.

Buemi's thinking "oh no!"

Buemi's on the grass, I think.

"I'm not gonna hit him, surely?"

But it's victory for di Grassi in Mexico!

Come on!

Sébastien Buemi, boy oh boy.

After dominating practice,

being disappointed in qualifying, then he had perhaps

a forgettable race. But he did pick up 1 bonus point

for the fastest lap.

CAMERA SHOE FROM BOTTLE CAPS Pt 2 EXPERIMENTS IN LAMINATION - Duration: 17:48.

Hi I'm Old Sneelock Welcome to another episode of Old Sneelock's

Workshop.

The stuff fused together.

It's all one solid piece now.

But the surface is not very flat.

I think there wasn't enough down pressure to overcome the shrinkage in the plastic.

Just having the voids in there from having all the particles made it so that when it

shrank it wasn't flat.

So to see if I can correct that issue I'll just flip this over.

And then put the paper around the plastic to see if I can iron out the surface.

This is really an awkward way of going at it but what the heck, I'm not really out anything for trying

it.

Right?

Oh it is flattening out.

I don't think I want to wiggle that while it is heated up.

I want to just leave it to flatten out.

Heat that side.

Then I'll heat this side.

That should cause everything to fuse together better too

I'll make this surface as flat as I possibly can.

I can see that it's flattening out.

I can tell how the paper is getting kind of a wetted out look.

I'm going to let that cool.

And while that's cooling I'm going to see if I can screw something else up.

I take this hot iron and set it on top of this piece of plastic.

Not out anything cause I'm just killing time while I'm waiting for the video to upload

to the computer.

Then once I get that done then I have to upload it to YouTube.

Then I can do some more editing, and it just takes a lot of time.

Most of it I spend waiting for the computer to do something.

That's when I do these things.

Down here I got nothing else going on.

Try to make use of my time.

I have a fairly square blank of plastic.

Also a little bit warm.

Not terribly so.

I can still hold it as long as I don't hold it in one place too long.

I think if I made this like a hinged platen so I could press two pieces between this,

between the two irons, that would be classic.

I had a hole protruding.

(plastic leaked through) These are actually two different kinds of

plastic.

One is a piece of plastic bag melted together.

The other is a piece of plastic bottle caps.

That's actually pretty fluid.

I can press that down.

Oh Oh Don't want to do that I can press it down

with the paper on it a lot better.

Okay that actually will work, because that way I can make a thicker block.

So if I use this I wonder if I could form this up square?

There really isn't any plan or purpose to this thing.

I'm just seeing what I can do with the limits of the process.

Seeing what I can do within the limits of the process.

Try this now.

That temperature seems to be pretty good.

It doesn't burn the paper.

The plastic gets fluid.

Plastic It allows it to be compressed.

But it doesn't heat it up enough to burn the paper or cause a problem like the other stuff

was.

And I think having this paper in there made it so I couldn't press it down further.

That's the reason it became that pyramid shape because the paper filled the corners.

So I'm not going to tack it down this time.

I'm just going to let it push down in there and flow any old way it can.

Still getting the pyramid shape.

Well that obviously doesn't work.

It sticks to that wood something fierce.

I'll get a piston to drive it down in there.

Heat it up and then use this weight to compress it.

We'll see how that does.

Well it's definitely getting into the shape better.

Add some more material in there.

What do you think?

Nothing ventured.

Nothing gained.

Put these trimmings back in there.

Might as well recycle all this stuff if I can.

Now I'll set this back on there and let that heat some more.

Now there's a thousand better ways to do this.

But I've got nothing better to do with my time right now.

Well I did get the edges all the way filled out.

Just by pressing the stuff out flatter.

Hmm Interesting effect.

Of

the two blocks, this one is thicker.

So I'm going to use this one to make my next project.

I've had this camera tripod for a long time.

It was marked down to $5.00.

Nope $6.00 It's got the marking right here on the side.

But the problem was, it doesn't have a way to hold the camera on it.

It was designed for a specific camera shoe.

And I kept thinking, "Oh I should make a camera shoe.

I should.

I should." and I just never did.

Now I have material with no apparent use and I'm going to make a camera shoe out of it.

If you have any suggestions for a new video, questions about todays video, or any of the

other videos on the channel, just drop a note in the comments.

You know I read them all.

Thanks for watching.

Establishment Democrats Warm Up To Bernie Sanders, But They Still Won't Change - Duration: 5:03.

There was a very interesting article in The Hill this morning talking about the fact that

establishment-type Democrats, both campaign strategists, Democratic advisors, sitting

politicians, everybody like that, those establishment types, are actually open to the idea of letting

Bernie Sanders come in and help steer the party forward, but as the article continues,

it becomes clear that these people who are suddenly warming up to Bernie Sanders aren't

doing it because they want to embrace his policies.

Instead, they want to embrace his popularity.

They don't understand that the reason Bernie Sanders is popular, is the most popular politician

in the United States, it's not because his name is Bernie Sanders or he looks like everybody's

grandfather.

It's because he is out there advocating for policies that actually help people, something

the Democratic Party actually used to stand for.

You know, 15, 20 years ago, maybe even a little bit before that, we wouldn't even be having

this discussion today.

The Democratic Party, back before Bill Clinton was elected and we let these new way Democrats,

the DLC come in and push the party further to the center, borderline to the right, and

it was at that point that the party stopped caring about average people, about the middle

class, about the underclass.

They started only caring for the 1% just like the Republican Party.

Then, after Citizens United, you'll notice a trend that happened, and this is really

interesting.

Before Citizens United, the top donor group to the Democratic Party was trial lawyers,

people who go out there every day and take on massive corporations to fight for injured

victims in the United States.

After Citizens United, the top donor to the Democratic Party is Wall Street banks.

The Democrats think that they can have it both ways.

They think that they can embrace Bernie Sanders the politician but not his ideas.

Instead, they want to embrace the politician while still taking money from Wall Street

banks and corporations.

That is not a winning strategy.

That's not a winning combination, and it goes against all the things that Bernie Sanders

is out there advocating for, because guess what?

His policies aren't going to be super great for corporations.

They're going to make corporations have to cough up just a little bit more money every

year.

Now, don't worry.

They're still going to make their multi-billion dollar profits, but those profits are going

to go down slightly.

You know why?

Because we need universal healthcare in the United States.

We need debt-free college education.

We need investments into our infrastructure.

We need to protect our environment.

Those things cost money, and the corporations who currently aren't paying taxes or aren't

paying their fair share in taxes, like the top 1%, those are the people who are going

to have to cough up a little bit more to make this country great again.

See, we can make America great again, but not with the policies of Donald Trump and

not with the policies of the Democratic Party or the Republican Party.

We need to listen to people like Bernie Sanders.

There is a reason he is so popular.

Again, the Democratic Party, these strategists who are now warming up to the idea of, "Bring

him on in.

Let's listen to him," they don't care about his policies.

They want his email lists.

They want to use his podcast that he's starting.

They want to bring in all these new Democratic voters and then convince them that they don't

actually want the things that Bernie Sanders is talking about.

They don't want debt-free college education.

They want to give corporations tax breaks, but it's not going

to work.

5 Myths About Brain Usage You Can't Miss - Duration: 7:49.

5 Myths About Brain Usage You Can't Miss!

It is undeniable truth that our brain is the control system of our whole body.

Well, you can thank your brain for everything you feel and understand about yourself and

the world.

Now come to the question, how much do you actually know about the complex organ in your

head?

There are a lot of myth about our brain that you maybe learned one or two before.

In case you want to know more, in this video I'm going to show you five popular myths about

brain usage that you may already learn somewhere and the actual fact about it.

But before we start, make sure to subscribe our channel so you won't miss any interesting

update in the future guys!

Here are some common beliefs about the brain to find out if they're true.

Myth number 1.

Percent of brain used

Do you really use only 10 percent of your brain?

The idea that we only use 10 percent of our brain is deeply entrenched in popular culture

and often stated as fact in books and movies.

A 2013 study found that 65 percent of Americans believe this to be true.

It's not entirely clear how it all started, but it's more science fiction that fact.

Sure, some parts of your brain are working harder than others at any given time.

But 90 percent of your brain isn't useless filler.

Magnetic resonance imaging shows that most of the human brain is active most of the time.

In the course of a day, you use just about every part of your brain.

This doesn't mean that you can't improve your brain health.

Your whole body is depending on your brain after all.

Will a little bit of exercise everyday surely could improve your brain capacity over time.

Myth number 2.

New brain wrinkles

Is it true that you get new brain "wrinkles" when you learn something?

Well, not all brains are wrinkled.

In fact, most animals have fairly smooth brains.

Some exceptions are primates, dolphins, elephants, and pigs, which also happen to be some of

the more intelligent animals.

The human brain is exceptionally wrinkled.

That's probably why people conclude that we gain more wrinkles as we learn new things.

But that's not how we acquire brain wrinkles.

Your brain starts developing wrinkles before you're even born.

The wrinkling continues as your brain grows, until you're about 18 months old.

Think of the wrinkles as folds.

The crevices are called sulci and the raised areas are called gyri.

The folds allow room for more gray matter inside your skull.

It also decreases wiring length and improves overall cognitive functioning.

Well, human brains vary quite a bit, but there's still a typical pattern to brain folds.

Research shows that not having the major folds in the right places could cause some dysfunction.

Myth number 3.

Effect of subliminal messages

Can you really learn through subliminal messages?

Various studies suggest that subliminal messages might be able to provoke an emotional response,

affect perception of effort and whole-body endurance performance, challenge age-related

stereotypes and improve physical functioning, and motivate you to do things you probably

wanted to do anyway.

Actually, learning entirely new things is far more complicated than that.

Say you've been studying a foreign language.

There's only a small chance that listening to vocabulary words in your sleep can help

you remember them a bit better.

A 2015 study found that this is true only under the best of circumstances.

The researchers noted that you can't learn new things during your sleep.

On the other hand, sleep is crucial to brain function.

Getting adequate sleep can help improve learning, memory, and problem-solving skills.

Perhaps the boost to intellectual performance from sleep is the reason this myth endures.

Well, If you want to learn something new, your best bet is to tackle it head on rather

than subliminally.

Myth number 4.

Left or right brained

Is there such a thing as being left-brained or right-brained?

Well, our brain definitely has a left side and a right side.

Each hemisphere controls certain functions and movement on the opposite side of your

body.

Beyond that, the left brain is more verbal.

It's analytical and orderly.

It takes in the small details, and then puts them together to understand the whole picture.

The left brain handles reading, writing, and calculations.

Some call it the logical side of the brain.

The right brain is more visual and deals in images more than words.

It processes information in an intuitive and simultaneous manner.

It takes in the big picture, and then looks at the details.

Some say it's the creative, artsy side of the brain.

There's a popular theory that people can be divided into left-brained or right-brained

personalities based on one side being dominant.

Left-brained people are said to be more logical, and right-brained people are said to be more

creative.

After a two-year analysis, a team of neuroscientists found no evidence to prove this theory.

Brain scans showed that humans don't favor one hemisphere over the other.

It's not likely that the network on one side of your brain is substantially stronger

than the opposite side.

As with most things relating to the human brain, it's complicated.

While each hemisphere has its strengths, they don't work in isolation.

Both sides contribute something to logical and creative thinking.

Myth number 5.

Alcohol's effect

Does alcohol really kill your brain cells?

There's no question that alcohol affects the brain in negative ways.

It can impair brain function even in the short term.

In the longer term, it can lead to serious brain damage.

It doesn't actually kill brain cells though.

Long-term heavy drinking can cause shrinking of the brain and result in deficiencies in

white matter.

This can lead to slurred speech, blurred vision, balance and coordination problems, slowed

reaction times, and memory impairment including blackouts.

Exactly how alcohol affects an individual's brain depends on many factors, including age,

gender, how much and how often you drink, and how long you've been drinking, general

health status, and family history of substance abuse.

Alcoholics are prone to developing a brain disorder called Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome.

The symptoms include mental confusion, paralysis of nerves that control eye movement, muscle

coordination problems and difficulty walking, and chronic learning and memory problems.

Drinking during pregnancy can affect your baby's developing brain, a condition known

as fetal alcohol syndrome.

Children with fetal alcohol syndrome tend to have smaller brain volume called microcephaly.

They can also have fewer brain cells or normally functioning neurons.

This can cause long-term behavioral and learning problems.

Alcohol may interfere with the brain's ability to grow new brain cells, which is another

reason this myth may persist.

Well, that's the five popular myths about brain usage.

Top 10 Everyday Things YOU'RE Doing Wrong - Duration: 7:48.

Hey YouTube, Jim here and welcome to Top10Archive!

Have you ever stuck a fork in a light socket when you were a kid?

The loud popping, the sparks - oh the beautiful sparks!

"Okay, so maybe that's not what they're made for, but it's far from the first time

a common household item was used incorrectly!

In fact, that's the topic of discussion for this Archive, the "Top 10 Things People

Never Use Correctly."

10.

Bobby Pins They're such a simple hairstyling tool that

you're probably wondering how anyone could be using them incorrectly, but chances are

you're among them!

There are two sides to a bobby pin – a flat side and a ridged side – and wouldn't

you know that's not just for show?

While people tend to just slide them in place all willy-nilly, it's actually the grooved

side that should be facing the scalp.

The small grooves are meant to help keep hair in place and keep the pin from sliding all

over the place.

9.

Aluminum Foil / Saran Wrap End Locks There are few things worse than trying to

unroll plastic wrap or aluminum foil only to have the spool protest and fly all over

the place.

If this has happened to you, then you obviously don't know about the somewhat hidden secret

to these boxes.

The next time you're near it, take a look at the face of both ends of your aluminum

foil and saran wrap box.

You'll notice two punch-out tabs which, when pushed in, keep the spool from not cooperating

and being pulled right out of the box as you measure out how much you need.

8.

Earbuds Don't you hate how much pressure you feel

when you wear your ear buds?

Well, there's actually a way to use them so you don't have that painful burden on

your inner ear – the right way.

The next time you're listening to some tunes, don't just place the bud in your ear.

Instead, take the wire and, from behind your ear, wrap it over the top to the front, so

the bud is dangling by your ear canal.

Then just slip in the bud.

You should immediately feel the difference in comfort level and, even more beneficial

than that, you're less likely to accidentally yank them off your head.

7.

Plastic Drink Lids Though some may claim they're meant to make

stacking easier, there seems to be a rather practical reason for those three little grooves

found on most soft drink lids.

Instead of just providing cover for your beverage, the lid can also double as a coaster!

The three rounded grooves, which are located in the canal surrounding the straw opening,

latch onto the accompanying soft drink cup.

Seeing as how easily beverages can sweat through the cup itself, this simple and hidden application

is a great way to keep your counters from getting wet.

6.

Plunger Ah, Uncle Bert is visiting again and you know

what that means: you'll need to unclog your toilet at least once before the weekend is

through.

Did you know, though, that you may be making the task crappier than it needs to be?

You may have missed that there are two different types of plungers: one that's typically

reddish in color with a flat bottom, or a cup plunger, and a black one with an extended

flange.

If you're using the red one to clear out good 'ole Bert's fine work, you're making

your life difficult.

The flange of the black plunger, also incidentally known as a "toilet plunger," fits into

the bowl, allowing for a complete seal for maximum suction.

That silly, red Looney Toons plunger is designed for sinks.. and to load the ACME Plunger Gun.

5.

Punctuation Grammar Nazi's unite!

If you've spent any time in YouTube's comment sections, you've seen what little

regard people have for proper punctuation, or for each other for that matter.

Whether it's laziness or an actual lack of understanding, apostrophes, semicolons,

colons, ellipses, hyphens, exclamation points, question marks, quotation marks – they all

tend to get mistreated.

The biggest offenders tend to forget that semicolons are used to join two independent

clauses without a pause, apostrophes are used to indicate possession, colons precede a list

of items, and ellipses to show an omission.

4.

Chinese Takeout Containers We've all had one of those nights: You're

in no mood to cook so you make a call to your favorite Chinese food delivery.

After it arrives, you realize you haven't done the dishes in a week so you're all

out of plates and proceed to just eat everything out of the box.

Strange to think you could be using something wrong in this scenario, but guess what – you

are!

The typical Chinese takeout containers can actually be unfolded and turned into a rudimentary

version of a plate.

No longer do you have to fish to the bottom of the container for the last of the chow

mein, and should you have any leftovers, the container can be reassembled for easy storage

without having to move the contents.

3.

Escalators Escalators are one of the greater contributions

of the late-19th century, providing us with a means of going upstairs without standing

in a cramped elevator or having to use our legs on stationary stairs.

What many people don't realize, though, is that using an escalator comes with a certain

responsibility.

It may be an unspoken rule, but it's certainly not a secret one that the width of the escalator

is designed to accommodate two different types of people – those in a hurry and those who

can't be bothered to move their legs.

If you've ever stood side-by-side with someone or stood on the left side of an escalator,

you're using it incorrectly.

Etiquette states that the left side of the escalator is meant for people in a hurry while

the right side is for passengers looking to stand in place and enjoy the lazy ride.

2.

Cotton Swabs Here's one you should probably pay close

attention to considering it may save your ears!

At some point during their existence, cotton swabs, or Q-tips, came to be used by many

to clean a person's ear canal.

Medical professionals, however, profusely disagree with this implementation, claiming

that by cleaning the ear canal with a cotton swab, a person is risking compacted ear wax

ans severe damage to eardrums.

Back in 1923, Leo Gerstenzang watched his wife as she put wads of cotton on the end

of toothpicks.

He mimicked her ingenious idea and produced "Baby Gays," a name later changed to Q-tips.

Cotton swabs serve a range of uses, from make-up application to microbiological research, which

makes one wonder why we started shoving them into our ears.

1.

Car Seats Typically, before you leave the hospital with

a newborn baby, you're instructed on how to properly set up a car seat.

It's pretty common knowledge that baby seats should not go in the front seat at all and

that they should face the rear seat, but even that's not everything new parents should

know.

Studies published in the U.S National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health

show that children ages one to three-years-old seated in the center of the rear seat are

at 43% less of a risk of injury than children seated on either side.

While some cars may not be able to accommodate the safer position, chances are most parents

revert to placing their baby in the rear passenger side for convenience.

In fact, the study continued to state that 41% of the parents involved chose the right

outboard, possibly to be able to sneak a peak in the rear view mirror while driving.

10 Things You Didn't Know About Aqua! - KonoSuba Facts & Trivia - Duration: 12:20.

Aqua the goddess. She's the goddess of

Water or former Goddess I should say. We

first met Aqua in that limbo like

heaven area in episode 1 of KonoSuba.

Aqua herself comes in at 5 feet 2

inches or 158 centimeters. Aqua's exact

age is unknown but we'll come back to this.

While Aqua was in that limbo area she was

very much a divine being. Aqua was the

Goddess in charge of seeing people who

died in Japan. Whether she was there

because she actually cared is unclear.

She did however need to meet a monthly

quota. More on this later. I mentioned

that Aqua's real age is never given

although she did claims she's not much

older than Kazuma. The reason for this

being that in that heavily area time

flows much slower. What this means for

Aqua is she very much ages normally now,

like any other human being! So in other

words they better get on to killing that

Demon King soon otherwise Aqua is gonna

be stuck forever with Kazuma as a

grandma! Take a look at the goofy goddess

Aqua. What immediately stands out? You

might have screamed out the BLUE color!

She's freaking blue all around. Aqua is a

Goddess of Water so the blue eyes, blue

hair and blue outfit match her perfectly.

What do you may not have paid too much

attention to is her hair clip. Take a

look! It's got a blue orb with two

smaller yellow ones to the side. Remind

you of anything? This is actually a water

molecule! Definitely gotta love this

attention to detail! But that's not all.

Occasionally you see Aqua wearing that

pink cloth of hers. You may not have

known but this is actually a very

powerful divine relic. It's some God like

equipment. It not only protects the user

from abnormal statuses like poison, it

also gives a user greater durability.

You've even already seen an example of

this in the anime. Remember that time

that that demon doll exploded on her? The

damage from that was greatly reduced

thanks to this, otherwise without it it

would have been good bye Aqua!. This thing

could potentially sell for hundreds of

gold.

Just throwing that idea out there Kazuma!

In the KonoSuba anime Aqua is voiced

by the very lovely Sora Amamiya. You

definitely know her from these other

anime series. She was Akame from

Akame Ga Kill. Quite a difference

from Aqua! She was also Mia for Monster

Museum. Yeah I could see the parallel

with this one. And she was Elizabeth from

Seven Deadly Sins and Touka from Tokyo

Ghoul. What's interesting is that her

voice actor was heavily criticized in

Japan for having a mediocre voice.

Voicing Aqua turned out to be a blessing

because after KonoSuba she ended up

getting out a ton of praise and she

definitely deserved it!

Aqua the former

goddess. Poor Agua no one actually

believes that she was ever really a

goddess in the first place. The important

people Megumin and Darkness in her

party definitely don't buy it at all! In

fact Megumin actually thinks that Aqua

might have some mental problems

You might even agree with her. The reality is

that Aqua actually has a very easy way

to prove to anyone that she's a Goddess!

Her freaking adventurer card. You get a

glimpse of it a couple of times in the

anime. This card shows some very important

things related to the owner such as:

their name, their age, their gender, and

most importantly their race. Right on top

in the KonoSuba language it spells out

very clearly Goddess Aqua's race. For

someone like Megumin or Kazuma it just

says human for them. Keep in mind by the

way that these adventurer cards cannot be

forged so this whole situation can be

solved so easily if only Aqua wasn't

complete idiot.

Let me go ahead and address a very

important question that I know you've

been wondering about Aqua. Does the girl

wear any pantsu at all? This is a very

hot discussion topic online. It's not

surprising for viewers of the anime. Aqua

is never shown wearing anything down

there. She might even be as smooth as a

Barbie. There was even that time that

Kazuma was trying to use steal on her in

the anime. Although that time Kazuma

didn't end up getting any divine undies

from that. In the light novel Kazuma also

tries to use steal on Aqua like 20

times but even he fails at this too. The

only things he managed to get were a few

party trick items like fans, some seeds, a

few marbles, and a couple of cups. Don't

even think about where Aqua might be

storing these . . . Anyway the important goods

were notably missing. The anime really

just left this up to the imagination of

the viewers. In reality Aqua does were

underwear. She simply made them invisible.

This way no one could ever get a glimpse

at them. It's definitely the best idea ever

since Aqua is a very smart girl. About

Aqua. Just how divine is as Ex-Goddess

really? You find out early on that she

started off with GM level max stats. She

also had enough skill points to learn

all of the Arch Priest skills from the very

beginning. Since this is Aqua she went ahead

and learned all the Party Tricks skills

too. Simply learning all these skills by

itself should be enough for you or

anyone to be super impressed. As an

Ex-Goddessis Aqua does gain access to sacred

enhanced version of some of her regular

skills.

This also includes special divine skills

that are exclusive to her. We've seen two

of them in the anime. The God Blow divine

punch and her God Requiem she used at

the end of season two. Yeah that was the

same move she failed to use versus the

frog too. Pretty embarrassing. This is

not even getting into all the unique

divine water skills that are unique to

her as a Goddess of Water. What's

interesting about Aqua and skill set is

that all her other moves in particular

have gained a water attribute. But why

does this matter? Funny enough their

party of runs into monsters that are

immune to water techniques. Remember

those frogs at the very beginning? Rhat

was why! Want to take a wild guess at

just how popular Aqua is? Ffrom a

popularity poll in Japan and we got the

exact results. You may have already seen

from my Megumin video that Little Miss

Michael Bay took the top spot. Maybe

someone up there just doesn't like Aqua

or possibly is due to her crappy luck

but Aqua didn't even come into the top

three. In the popularity poll Aqua got

fourth place. My God! I could already

imagine Aqua wailing in the background

especially since Eris got second place.

This next one is pretty funny in a way

for Aqua. Remember that very first day?

The day when aqua got dragged into this

fantasy Australia world. Both her and

Kazuma were completely broke. Aqua

eventually ended up begging for money.

The funny part about this is what aqua

was doing behind the scenes to find a

solution. To try to solve their money

problems Aqua was actually sending a

telepathic SOS message to her followers.

Aqua was trying to ask someone in the

Axis church if she could borrow money!

Yeah that's right. Poor Aqua. I can't

really blame her for being super

desperate. Unfortunately for her only the

leader of the Axis church happened to

get the message. Let me tell you some

things about Aqua's crazy loony followers.

We have seen Aqua be pretty jelly of

Eris since she's got more followers. Aqua

has claimed to have millions of

followers but she's just making that up!

The true number is really only a few

thousand. As you've seen however Aqua's

followers are much much more devoted.

These Axis code guys would drive

anyone insane. In fact all monsters

around their city actively avoid the

area. Even the Demon King is said to go

out of his way to evade their cult.

What's interesting is Aqua's connection

to her followers and what this means for

both of the groups. Aqua herself has his

almost unlimited amount of mana reserves.

In reality the reason for this is due to

a small amount of mana being transferred

over to her from her followers. On the

flip side all of the Axis cult

followers actually take another penalty

too.By being a believer all of those guys

take a hit in their intelligence stat.

Ouch. I don't know if this is supposed to

be some hidden commentary on religion

or just of Aqua but this is honestly

pretty amusing. Funny enough Aqua ends up

screwing them over at the end of season

two. You saw how aqua ended up purifying

all their spring water. This in the past

being the main source of income for the

whole city. Turns out without Aqua knowing

she actually gave them a blessing in

disguise.

All of the water that Aqua purified

ended up being enhanced holy water. This

holy water being able to heal wounds or

damage demon monsters. The Axis leader

realized what happened and came up with

the bright idea of selling this holy

water. So awesome! The money problems for

the city solved and thats how the city

ended up living happily ever after.

Finally let me tell you about Aqua's

secret connection to the Demon King.

Spoiler warning although it could be

years before the anime touches on this

if we even get more seasons. Anyway back

at the very beginning you see Aqua

sitting eating her snacks just waiting

for someone to die from Japan. After all

she does have a monthly quota to fill.

This is emphasised by the fact that she

just offers up the deal to Kazuma who is

definitely not hero material. You later

even see that sword master who Aqua

previously revived. Even aqua completely

forgot about him. I mean why wouldn't she!

Aqua has revived a ton of people. But

anyway how does this circle back to the

Demon King? It's actually hinted at that

the Demon King is in fact Japanese. This

means that the entire situation is

completely Aqua's fault! God damn it Aqua!

If you think about it all their problems

could be blamed on Aqua too. Why did

Kazuma get killed by the winter samurai?

Of course because it was created by

someone from Japan that Aqua revived. Why

was that Destroyer created in the first

place? The reason was to defeat the Demon

King, which by the way the light novel

also reveals that the Creator was also

Japanese! God damn it Aqua! So thanks for

watching! Really hope you enjoyed this

video. Be sure to hit the thumbs up and

subscribe, especially if you love KonoSuba!

If you don't Aqua' crazy Axis

followers will find you at night time . . . haha

haha Before you go let me know in the

comments who is the best girl in KonoSuba?

Is anyone out there gonna pick

Aqua?

Anyway definitely subscribe there's a

new one of these every week. I do read

all of your guys's suggestions so don't

be shy to post any anime character or

series for a possible future video! Check

some of these past videos and I'll see

you guys later!

Classical Musicians React: NCT U '7th Sense' vs 'Without You' - Duration: 14:02.

Naoki: In New Zealand we have plagal cadences which is 4 to 1 but we never covered that here

Shimon: Well minor 4 to 1

Naoki: Wah

Shimon: Well minor 4 to 5 is a pla- Naoki: Well it can be

Naoki: No minor cadence is for me is just 4 to 1, it can be anything Shimon: I'm sorry, that's, that's uh that's umm

Naoki: It's like the god cadence like amen

Shimon: Ooohh god

Shimon: What's a mode that starts with a P Naoki: phrygian

Shimon: Phrygian cadence

Shimon: Phrygian cadence? No that's not- Naoki: Wait what, isn't that flat 6 to 5

Shimon: I thought it was minor 4 to 5

Naoki: Wait let's check that Shimon: Ma-ma-ma- maybe

Naoki: Phhryygiian

*umu talking to ash in the background*

Naoki: Yeah it's flat 6 to 5 Shimon: It's minor- minor 4 to 5

Naoki: Yeah but there's also other scale degrees Shimon: Minor- I'm talking about the roman numeral

*Rossini's Semiramide Overture plays*

Davis: So this is NCT Lindsey: This is Reacttothek, pop

Umu: Yes and this group- Davis: And they're- so they're created

Umu: So they have like unlimited amount of members, they have, I think they have about

16 right now (lmao save umu nope)

Umu: But what they do is they split up into sub units Lindsey: They should have Seventeen haha get it cuz that's another kpop group

Umu: That's funny (So salty XD)

Umu: Anyways Both: HAHAHHA Davis: Wow

Lindsey: The salt!

Umu: And there's al- there's Nct Dream, Nct 127, and Nct U

And they rotate sub units

The first sub unit to debut is called Nct U and it's made up of 6 members

This group is more college aged, I think it's like 17 to 21 or something like that

Kevin: Nct University (So much meme, so early)

Gwen: One, two, seven

Shimon: Owowwoooww Naoki: Hah that bass

Gwen: I'm so into that dancing, I'm so into this right now Hugo: *Sipping*

Hugo: I'm really into this bass line with the- Ooh

Kevin: Oh that's a hum, that's a sing Yunyi: Woah

Fiona: Ooh- Woah! wait this is really cool and the jacket's really cool

*henry singing some sort of progression on scale degrees*

*Shook*

Gwen: Less into it now

Yunyi: Woah

Kevin: I'm ok with this

Gwen: It's like, the type of like hiphop that I- it's just like

BLURGH

BLORGH

And you're like

Yunyi: Very western vibe

Hugo: HEhehehehehe that's exactly what it's like

Lindsey: I like it Davis: It reminds me of something else

Lindsey: It reminds me of Hotline Blind Davis: Yeah

Davis: That's what I was thinking ok yeah that's what I was thinking Lindsey: Yeah it's just like the dancing on the

Lindsey: The colored- like the monocolored- monochromatic Davis: Yeah

Lindsey: Background

Fiona: The- I wrwe- ok I'm such a fan

Davis: I'm confused why... they're in boxes Lindsey: HAhahaha

Fiona: I like this group

Kevin: Much color

Uwagh

Gwen: When you film a music video in the shower

Lindsey: I'm a fan though Davis: Oh yeah

Davis: No it's definitely different than what we've listened to cuz it's just like

Kevin: I like the counter- the dunuhnuhnuh

Whhahaat

Yunyi: Woah

Davis: Normally they just have it kinda mixed into the song but this is just

Lindsey: Straight up Davis: Yeah yeah yeah

Yunyi: Oh he has a great voice

Naoki: It's reeedd and black haha Shimon: Hahaha

Shimon: ~White blue~

Naoki: Haaahahaha Colors Shimon: The colors, colors, symbolism

Naoki: Ahah oh yeah the symbolism between aha red and white Ash: Oh my gohahaa XD

Shimon: Is that a bathroom

Gwen: Are you ok Hugo: Nah I'm just

Gwen: You're just sick, it's just- this is a hot song it's just, ya know Hugo: Nah it's just- it's fine it's-

shimon: ooh i like that

Fiona: Like kind of the heavy, thick echoey background

Henry: Dr- a du- more drowning in reverb

Fiona: Yeah Henry: Boom

Henry: Yeah Fiona: I'm a fan though

Henry: I'm sometimes a fan

Davis: Nice, flow Lindsey: Is that guy wearing a st- stussy

Fiona: I like- Henry: This video is pretty- it's pretty- it's really cool

Fiona: I like the sound of rap in Korean cuz I don't know what they're saying

which I don't know what they're saying most of the time in rap anyways and it's just.. a lot more cool syllables that I'm not used to

Naoki: Yeah no it sounds very uh

very reminiscent of like American hiphop culture Shimon: It does but I want a melody

Naoki: I mean

They don't have melody in like

Hiphop

Kevin: That's so cool duhduhduhduhduhduhduh

Yunyi: Yeah it goes uh, it jumps to the tritone Kevin: It's 7 - 1 one but it sounds like it was going into another key

Kevin: Because Yunyi: Yeah

Henry: I don't dig the drums, but if the drums were a little bit different

I would be like

Hugo: The dancing's super dope Gwen: Oh yeah I love the dancing

Kevin: Ooh Yunyi: Ooh butts

*Smirks*

Umu: AhaAHAHHAHA

Shimon: I- I want a melody Naoki: Well here you go

Shimon: Ahah this- Naoki: Is this a melody

Shimon: yes

Davis: Choreography is sick. It's so good

Yunyi: Yeah, Is this a new mus- is this new melodic content Kevin: Big fan

Kevin: It looked like it just added the glass shards af- it doesn't look real at all

Gwen: That time, he said eyes

And I heard it like eyes

Fiona: This is like hot- hotline bling vibe with the color scheme Henry: That's really cool

Hugo: That was a cool move

Yunyi: That move

Naoki: I mean the choreography was really good

Yunyi: There was not much song Umu: Ok

Kevin: It's- it's- it's good, I'm a fan Yunyi: It's, mostly vibes, aesthetics

Gwen: The last 30 seconds were my favorite part of the whole thing

Where they were dancing and it was like bowm

Bowm Bowm

Kevin: YEaahhh

Hell (yeah)

Are all there stuff this good (Grammar king Kevin)

Davis: Awesome

Fuck yeah

Umu: But yeah ok so that didn't have much melodically going on but what did you- when there was melodic stuff

Kevin: It's um

New type of melody Yunyi: I- my roommate listens to this kind of music

Alll the time so this is stuff that I- I'm very familiar with this kind of

track composition and it's nothing- nothing new to me Kevin: Heeeyy

Yunyi: But it was still nice cuz it wa- it's kind of like that

Effortless

Swaggy

Yunyi: Wow I sound so lame Kevin: Mhm

Umu: No it's ok

Kevin: Effortless Swaggy Yunyi: Effortless swaggy, that's what their name should mean Umu: Alright

Umu: Whaddya think Davis: it was really good Lindsey: I really liked it

Lindsey: I got a lot of hotline bling vibes Umu: Yeah yeah yeah Davis: I liked that it was-

Lindsey: Like from the dancing and the mono.. chromatic Davis: Like it was just.. a straight up like a hiphop chart

Davis: Like the whole time Lindsey: Chart, you make it sound like they're doing jazz

Davis: Jazz *snap*

A lot of these other videos it kind of like puts it in there a little bit you know like they'll be like a rap section or there will be like something with the background Lindsey: Woah this is good af

Davis: But this from start to finish was very clearly a little bit of a different outsider- Lindsey: Is their stuff just not on youtube

Umu: Oh no it is, I just downloaded it in case we had internet problems

Fiona: Wait what is this song called

Henry: Who are you looking for what are you running from

Umu: 7th Sense

Fiona: oh I found it

Duuuddee I'm a faaannn

Umu: So you really like that style of music and like how- Fiona: Yeah, that's what I'm into right now

Umu: Ok so you're thoughts on that one specifically was just like, wish there was more melody

Naoki: Nah I was fine with it. Shimon's just weird so Umu: Mm

Shimon: Apparently yeah Naoki: Yeah

Naoki: He's so used to symphonies Umu: Ok well the next one you're about to see

Has melody

It- it's totally different style

Naoki: But same people

Umu: Same people

But this is their second comeback I like this one better than the other one but that's because I like this style of music

It is called Without You and it's more melodic, more- Lindsey: ~With or without youu~ Davis: So which sub group is this

Umu, This is still Nct U Davis: Ok so it's still the first one

Umu: Ya Davis: Ok

Umu: So let's- Kevin: Do it

*click steal*

*Sad Kevin*

Yunyi: I accidentally muted it. I don't even know how I did that (Press the M button)

*click click*

Yunyi: Woow Kevin: Oh you paused it Umu: You pauhahah

Yunyi: Cuz you're an a**hole

I don't-

*swat*

High five

Kevin: I could live without you right now (The everloving puns)

Naoki: Melody

Shimon: Melody yes yes yes

Lindsey: It's another sideways one, it's another one where you gotta watch it like this

Hugo: Hey singing

Yaay

Davis: Oh

Naoki: You know the style is like completely different

Umu: Haha Henry: Are they going down or are they going up

Naoki: This has got like a band, like you know guitar Shimon: Yeah yeah yeah

Naoki: I'm guessing the drums will come in soon

Wait for it

Henry: Really really basic chord progression

*Nope*

Naoki: Oh there's a little bit of drums. It wasn't as much of a drop as I was expecting

Hugo: No but I'm digging this synth and this rock guitar underneath, mm

Naoki: Well it's building

*Nope*

Gwen: I was too early (Me in color guard)

I was a beat too early

They added train tracks

Lindsey: I like this though, it's very like

Summer beach party vibes. That's what I'd say, do you agree

Davis: After- after listening to the song that I listened to before this, it makes this sound that much more constantly- Lindsey: Why do they have a California flag

Kevin: Very generic harmonies but they really

Hugo: I'm really diggin his voice

Kevin: They really give it that inspirational kick

Whatever the lyrics mean

Gwen: That was a good chord

Hugo: OOhh cut time

Yunyi: It's the electric guitar strumming on every beat, that's- Kevin: Yeah, it's-

Yunyi: Every 8th note Kevin: It's well produced but it's on the poppy side of well produced, meaning the percussion is a bit higher

Fiona: Totally different style, I can't believe this is the same group right

Naoki: I'm guessing

About having fun, with a girl, and a guy

Shimon: Ima- is he just reminiscing about the past Umu: That's what I thought yeah

Naoki: Oh that's why it's like kind of hazy Shimon: Yeah yeah yeah

*Cough*

Shimon: And he was looking at his empty hands

Naoki: Oh look that's them as children

Probably

Naoki: Haha Umu: Did you just say satan's children

Naoki: Them as children Umu: Oh (I originally put him and his children lol. Still love that accent)

Fiona: It's definitely more alternative vibes

Fiona: What the heck. I really like it

Naoki: Their harmonization was pretty solid

Shimon: Yeah sure

Naoki: Sure

Naoki: Could you hear it through your- Shimon: Oh arcade

gwen: *whispers* dance!

Hugo: I'm really enjoying this song though

Lindsey: I like the duhduhduhduhdduhduhdudhdu like that's just a cool melodic thing

Henry: OOah

Whoa what's going on I haven't been paying attention to this video

Henry: I'm tired Fiona: It's good

Henry: It's really good

I like the- the fact that the song is basically the same thing, a billion times *Sarcasm*

Hugo: I'm loving their high stuff, they all- following the trend of all male kpop vocalists have to be tenors

Umm

Theey have really nice high voices

Ooh

That's a good high note

With a little bit of a cry at the end there Gwen: What note was that

Hugo: we'll play it afterwards

Gwen: Yeah we need to figure out what note that was, cuz I need to judge him based off what note it was

Kevin: It's yeah predom- predominant

Tonic dominant Umu: Not dominant tonic?

Yunyi: Oh, that's interesting, that's new Kevin: That goes reverse

Kevin: It's pretty common in this style

I mean- Umu: No wonder I like it

Naoki: It has a steady driving beat, keeps it upbeat

Fiona: I find comfort in this repetitive song Henry: The video is aesthetic as f***

Kevin: WAoh what a thing to end it on

Naoki: Oh why does it have to end like that. It has to resolve

Kevin: Sound.. waves

Davis: Maybe if you play the soundwaves it'll have a message or something I don't know

Lindsey: Probably not Umu: That'd be cool Davis: I'm just trying to figure it out too

Davis: That would be way too deep x2 (SM would let's be honest) Umu: That would be so cool

Henry: I mean look, the only tunes I ever write are either blueses where the changes are very simple chord progressions so I can't really say that much

But at the same time for people who wanna call themselves professional songwriters

like

I would expect

like

A little bit more interesting harmony than what's currently going on Fiona: But there's art in like

Ew

There's like an art to making pop music, pop music

Like the repetition of it, the comfortableness of it

It's attractive

Hugo: I'll just go play it on the piano

Gwen: Yeah just go do that

~AAHHHHHH~

Hugo: What are your guesses

Gwen: I think it's in F

F sharp

Hugo: I was thinking in F sharp or G

*umu is now screaming because they played a note in the chorus not the high held out note which is an A* hugo* F sharp

Gwen: WOOOHH

When you don't have perfect pitch but you can kinda tell based off where your muscles are in your throat

Hugo: Yeah and it wasn't crazy high but it was high enough- Gwen: but it- and it was strong

Hugo: Yeah and it was really- and that's what's important, it's not about getting like

Hugo: Reaching the highest like- Gwen: It doesn't- yeah it's just ab-

Hugo: Scuse me emma I'm trying to sit down (The sass XD)

Gwen: *In joking tone* Um excuse me we're the reactors

Umu: So Yunyi you- did you like this one

Yunyi: Kinda Umu: Mkay

Yunyi: I mean it was like I don't know I'm- I'm like

Lowkey disappointed that they didn't have something fresher to offer cuz these are all like

Yunyi: Like styles- Kevin: I do think- yeah

Yunyi: That have been done by other people before

Very much so

Umu: Okay

Yunyi: I didn't quite see their uniqueness show through this one Kevin: Man I feel like my- my-

When I critique like stuff that I've clearly heard before it's very much like when I think about movies

That have a generic plot but if the movie really

Makes the generic plot work

The it's still- like it could still be like a 5/5 movie and these aren't- these are like

4.5/5 songs even though they're like yeah

But I do think that for a music video that was that special the song was definitely a little

Umu: Ok Kevin: Yeah

Kevin: Like I very really appreciate the 2nd music video

Umu: It's like Imagine Dragons

Fiona: Yeah no that's- Henry: Yeah which is why- I don't like Imagine Dragons

Umu: Oh I love Imagine Dragons Henry: I do not like Imagine Dragons

Umu: This is my style of song

Fiona: I appreciate- I appreciate respectfully- respectfully, don't listen to them very much

Shimon: I am surprised by the fact that they were both the same group

Naoki: Yeah it's kinda weird that was the same group but it was 2 different styles like Shimon: It was very very different

Umu: Ok which one did you like better

Davis: The- I ha- ooh see that's hard- Lindsey: I liked the first one just because it was real catchy but the second one was more like

I me- Not catchy I mean the first one was just more like ya know

Davis: Yeah, it was groovy Lindsey: Just chillin

Umu: You liked the first one better

Fiona: Oh ohah Henry: No I liked this one better

Fiona: I like the other one better I pr- I'm a fan of both I'm just shocked that they're able to do such different styles

That was so cool Umu: Ok Henry: That's actually- yeah that's really cool the fact that they can do both of those

Fiona: Both of them so well like that's me as a classical horn player being able to play jazz which I can't play

You know that's just so cool

Umu: Ok so song wise you two liked the 7th sense better

Kevin: Yes I- yeah Yunyi: Yeah

Naoki: Oh the second one for sure Shimon: Yeah Umu: Ok

Naoki: Yeah it had more to it rather than just a bass line

Shimon: Melody Naoki: It's just a different style so I mean you're comparing apples and oranges I feel

Umu: Ok so yeah which one did you like better

Both: That one Umu: Oh ok

Umu: I- I'm glad that you liked it yay

Hugo: Hands down Gwen: I'm actaully gonna listen to that song in real life though like I liked it

Like actually liked it

8 Movies You Need To See Before You Die - Duration: 5:15.

Some films are a must-see because of the part they play in our collective cultural conversation.

Watching them unlocks a world of references, pub trivia answers, metaphors, and dinner

party icebreakers.

But other films are required viewing because of what they can teach us about love, hope,

despair, faith, family, and even—warm and fuzzy alert—ourselves.

Here are just a few movies you need to see...

Before Sunrise

Regardless of your own romantic track record, it behooves you to catch Richard Linklater's

1995 romantic drama Before Sunrise before you kick the bucket.

It's perhaps the most accurate depiction of two young people falling in love in cinematic

history.

And since it takes place in as close to real-time as most people would be willing to bear, it

affords you the privilege of being swept-up into the ardor—in beautiful Vienna, Austria,

no less.

It's like you're a fly on the wall of a room two impossibly charming people have built

out of pure conversation, on the first day of a decades-long relationship.

Dear Zachary

The 2008 documentary Dear Zachary is one of the rawest, most heart-wrenching depictions

of what it means to be a family ever committed to film.

It's an emotionally devastating love letter that also requires you to think critically

about the meaning of justice, friendship, and parenting.

Just one thing: make sure you watch it with someone who has already seen you ugly cry,

because tears are almost guaranteed.

Groundhog Day

Harold Ramis's 1993 comedy fantasy Groundhog Day is mandatory viewing not only because

it's widely considered a comedy masterpiece but also because it's been adopted, and rightfully

so, as a sort of Zen guide to self-improvement.

"Ugh..."

"What?"

The fact that Bill Murray's spiritual makeover is thoroughly non-denominational makes the

film, and its message, all the more universal.

The change comes from within and is ultimately motivated not by a desire to escape his time-prison

but to instead improve himself and improve the lives of those around him.

And it's funny to boot.

How could you go wrong?

Spotlight

In the same family as "All the President's Men" - Spotlight shows the power of investigative

journalism and how a free press can take down the powerful; Spotlight is the film for you.

The film, which won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2016, is a tense, dramatic thriller, even

though almost all of the action involves people talking - debating, discussing, and thinking

about what the ultimate meaning and importance of truth is.

"We gotta nail these scumbags.

We gotta show people that nobody can get away with this.

Not a priest, or a Cardinal, or a freakin' Pope!"

It's not always an easy film to watch, but when you're done, chances are you'll want

to watch it again.

O.J.: Made in America

Dedicating almost eight hours of your life to a 2016 documentary series about the O.J.

Simpson trial may sound like a lot to ask, especially to those who already sat through

a lifetime of media coverage about the trial back in 1995.

But O.J.: Made in America is less about the trial itself and more about celebrity, misogyny,

Los Angeles, identity, justice, race, and, yes, the American Dream, including why that

dream is off-limits to large parts of the population.

It's essential, not just to understanding the O.J. trial, but to understanding our nation

as well.

Election

Alexander Payne's 1999 comedy Election is an almost perfect film about high school,

politics, class, and infidelity.

Set in Nebraska, the film captures the dreary midwestern sadness and also takes stereotypical

characters, the jock, the trying-to-leave-the-closet lesbian, and the overachiever and masterfully

humanizes them..

And of course, there's Reese Witherspoon's masterful performance as the deceitful Tracy

Flick.

"I don't know what you're referring to, but maybe if certain older, wiser people hadn't

acted like such little babies and gotten so mushy, then maybe everything would be OK."

Of course, almost everyone in the film is also a pretty awful person, but hey.

This is high school, after all.

Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief

If you've ever wondered what the big deal about Scientology is, 2015's Going Clear:

Scientology and the Prison of Belief is exactly the documentary for you.

But even if you don't think you're interested in Scientology, the film is a fascinating

discourse on blind faith, manipulation, and the willingness of crowds to follow charismatic

leaders, despite all logic and reason.

And that's a message for everyone, no matter what your religion.

Citizen Kane

No doubt some of you have avoided watching 1941's Citizen Kane simply because everyone

keeps telling you to see it.

But there's a reason the Orson Welles classic is considered by many film fans and historians

to be the most important, most influential, and straight up best film of all time.

Not only did it innovate all sorts of filmmaking techniques that are still in use today, it

did it in service to a dazzlingly well-told, thoroughly contemporary story about a rich

businessman who uses his money, personal charisma, and influence over the media to become a powerful

politician.

"I made no campaign promises, because until a few weeks ago, I had no hope of being elected."

Some stories - and some movies - are simply timeless.

PARIS' BEST BURGER EVER ??? - GET READY SHOW #26 - Duration: 6:18.

Damn i'm already tired ! I'm in a bad shape due to the GET READY SHOW and the burgers !

Hope you had a great weekend ! Today we're at Saint Sebastien Froissard's station (75003 Paris)

1 boulevard des filles du calvaire, at Blend, midway between Republique and Bastille

And i'm gonna try some "gourmet burgers" right now in the GET READY SHOW !

As fast as you get in, you're in the US ! It looks, sounds & smell American ! I'll talk about it at the end of the vid !

There's something pretty funny on the receipt

They put their logo ! First time i see something like this and i wanted to share it with you

I took a cheeseburger (beef, british cheddar, without bacon for me, homemade ketchup, fried onions, pickles, salad)

The service's really fast ! I hadn't finished my explanation but the burger's already here !

I took with my cheeseburger some sweet potato fries (Yann at the camera is stealing some.. hold on bro !)

It's unusual to find sweet potato fries in Paris, so that's a good point for Blend !

Seems to be pretty fat !

Look at the cheese !! And the meat ! So juicy and fatty !

I'm already messing the table ..

The steak seems thicker than Burger & Fries' one !

Stop talking, let's eat !

This is a toasted brioche bun and it's cool and tasty !

I can't eat properly as usual

I think with bacon it would've been more crunchy, but with the fried crispy onions it's crusty

It's innovative for a cheeseburger !

The cheddar is way too tasty !!!

Well, i think it's probably Paris' best burger !

I love the way they serve you the fries !

2 sauces, mayo and ketchup, but i'm not going to wait anymore, let's eat that !!!!

I drop the fork !

It's risky to take sweet potato fries ! The taste's so particular.. but personally i love it !

They put the right dose of salt and spices

I can eat them without sauce !!! But i'm going to try them

Their ketchup's special !! I'll ask them about their recipe !

The mayo tastes like a homemade thick and fatty mayo

It really looks like American mayo and not the french one

Western Front Artillery At The Outbreak of World War 1 I THE GREAT WAR Special - Duration: 8:40.

When World War One began, nobody could really have guessed the unprecedented level of destruction

the war would bring.

An observer might have been able to guess how the war would be fought by looking at

the weaponry developed by the nations that did the fighting, though, and the most destructive

of these was artillery.

I'm Indy Neidell; welcome to a Great War special episode about French, British, and

German artillery before World War One.

The First World War was, generally speaking, an artillery war.

The overwhelming majority of casualties were caused by artillery, and much of the technological

and tactical development of the war was in direct response to the destructive power of

shrapnel or high explosive shells.

However, when the war began, none of the nations had an understanding of the decisive role

artillery would play.

I'm going to look now at the artillery of the nations initially fighting on the western

front.

We'll hopefully look at the artillery of other nations in future specials, depending

on what source materials we can find, as well as the development of artillery and artillery

tactics as the war went on.

Okay, France had suffered a disastrous and humiliating defeat at Prussian hands in 1870-71.

The Prussian military machine had been extremely mobile, and this led France to develop weapons

that favored mobile warfare- relatively light field guns with high rates of fire.

In 1898, the Canon de 75 modéle - the French 75 - developed a year earlier, entered French

service.

The French 75 is regarded by many to be the first modern artillery piece.

It had a very efficient recoil system that allowed it to fire up to 20 shells a minute

in rapid-fire operations.

So batteries of 75s could saturate the battlefield with hundreds and hundreds of shrapnel shells,

which would destroy enemy infantry formations and pave the way for the French infantry.

To do that, it was designed to fire over a flat trajectory and could not elevate above

18 degrees, which meant it couldn't do plunging fire.

This is important because when you also take into account the light weight of the shells,

either 5.5 or 7.5 kilos, it meant that the 75s were pretty much useless against fortifications

and earthworks.

Now, most of the French military did not see this as a problem, since the 1870 experience

led them to place their faith in speed and mobility.

That faith came at the cost of heavy artillery.

With the possible exception of a few nearly or even completely obsolete heavy guns, France

went to war in 1914 without a modern heavy artillery piece.

As you may know, this would come back to haunt the French, particularly commanders like Philippe

Petain, who had warned against relying on a single weapon system.

The Battle of the Frontiers in August 1914 showcased this huge mistake.

Don't get me wrong, the 75s performed excellently when correctly deployed, and were actually

superior to the German field guns, but plunging counter battery fire from German howitzers

which could reach the 75s even on reverse slopes, forced the 75s to withdraw, leaving

the French infantry totally unsupported, and contributing to the enormous French casualties.

German pre-war artillery plans were different.

The German plan for war was the Schlieffen Plan, which had a rigid timetable for moving

through Belgium and into France.

In order to keep that timetable, Germany would have to break through or destroy the Belgian

fortifications.

That would require artillery that fired a heavy shell for a long distance, in a plunging

arc.

However, Germany would also need a field gun that was mobile enough for the rapid movement

of the Schlieffen Plan.

The solution for that was the 7.7cm Feldkanone 96 neuer Art.

It had a similar recoil system to the French 75, but didn't have the range.

That wasn't a big deal early in the war, as the 7.7s were used during the mobile warfare

phase to deadly effect in conjunction with heavier pieces.

German artillery doctrine said that the 7.7 was to support the infantry and counter battery

fire would be done by the heavier weapons, and for that they had the 10.5cm Feldhaubitze

98/09, a short-barreled howitzer.

These were very effective at silencing the French field guns as I already said.

However, neither the 7.7s or the 10.5s would be much good against major fortresses like

Liege and Antwerp, so Germany developed several much larger pieces that could crack the Belgian

forts.

The biggest of these were the 42cm Krupp super heavy siege mortars that would be known as

Big Berthas.

They could fire an 800-kilo shell – that's 1,760 pounds of shell – 9 kilometers, or

a bit under 6 miles.

12 of those saw service during the war, though only two would see action against the Belgian

forts.

These guns are among the largest ever constructed.

Actually, the largest guns constructed during the war were the German made Paris Guns, which

were used to shell Paris from Germany late in the war and which I've already spoken

about in Out of the Trenches.

Now, unlike the French and the Germans, the British in 1914 had recent experience with

the requirements of modern artillery.

During the Boer Wars over a decade earlier, the Royal Artillery had shifted from providing

support over open spaces to supporting via indirect fire, not in the line of sight.

This was in direct response to modern rifles.

Field artillery positioned alongside infantry was subject to heavy fire and heavy casualties,

so it had to be moved to the rear and out of direct sight.

The British developed three weapons to respond to the needs of modern war.

In 1903, the Ordnance QF 18 pounder field gun entered service.

It had a similar recoil system to those of the French and German pieces and a range of

nearly 6 kilometers – almost 4 miles.

Since it fired a larger, heavier shell, it could in theory be used against enemy fortifications.

For heavier artillery, the British came out with the BL 60 pounder gun in 1905.

It had a quick recoil and a range of just under 10 km – 6 miles – so it was perfect

for counterfire operations against enemy batteries.

The third weapon was one capable of high angle plunging fire, the QF 4.5 inch howitzer, which

entered service in 1910.

It could fire a 16 kilo shell nearly 7 kilometers – that's 32 pounds over more than 4 miles.

And it was great against trenches, artillery batteries, and barbed wire.

In addition to the big three already in production before the war, British General of the Ordnance,

Lieutenant-General Sir Stanley Brenton von Donop got an incredibly powerful 9.2 inch

heavy siege howitzer ready for manufacture when the war broke out.

It could fire a 160 kilo shell, that's around 350 pounds, a distance of 10 kilometers.

I want to make clear that the guns I've talked about today were not the only ones

used.

When war came all three of these nations used guns of all calibers and sizes, but it would

be incredibly confusing to list them all and would take forever.

These ones were the most recent ones to be adopted and would likely have been the sole

weapons of their types had not the war necessitated the deployment of ALL weapons of ALL types

to the front lines, when to the horror of everyone, August 1914 revealed the devastating

power of modern artillery.

As said before, we want to talk about the important artillery pieces of the other nations

too, if you have any sources or are an expert on the topic, get in contact with Flo, our

social media guy.
