Movies Hollywood Was Forced To Change For China - Duration: 11:12.
When it comes to global box office, China is projected to overtake the United States
as the biggest market in the world by 2020.
Chinese law, however, only allows 34 Hollywood films to be released on the mainland each
year, meaning there's an intense competition to earn one of those coveted slots.
And since Chinese censors are notoriously strict, outright banning movies they don't
like, Hollywood studios are more than happy to make changes to their films in order to
get a piece of the action.
Here's a look at some movies Hollywood was forced to change for China's sake.
Doctor Strange
Whitewashing is nothing new in Hollywood, but the problem has come to a head in recent
years with a bunch of controversial against-race castings.
In 2016, Marvel Studios came under fire for Doctor Strange, which cast Tilda Swinton in
the role of The Ancient One, who, in the comics, was a Tibetan mystic.
According to the film's co-writer, C. Robert Cargill, that presented Marvel with a major
problem, because the Chinese government refuses to recognize Tibet as an independent country.
He told the Double Toasted podcast, "The Ancient One was a racist stereotype who comes from
a region of the world that is in a very weird political place.
He originates from Tibet.
So if you acknowledge that Tibet is a place and that he's Tibetan, you risk alienating
one billion people [...] and risk the Chinese government going, 'Hey, you know one of the
biggest film-watching countries in the world?
We're not going to show your movie because you decided to get political.'"
Skyfall
2006's Casino Royale made history as, after 20 previous attempts to get him there had
proven unsuccessful, James Bond was finally introduced to China.
And the cost was just a few new lines of dialogue from Dame Judi Dench glossing over that whole
Cold War thing.
"In the old days if an agent did something that embarrassing he'd have the good sense
to defect.
Christ, I miss the Cold War."
However, 2012's Skyfall was subjected to heavy editing at the hands of Chinese censors, who
removed all references to torture tactics used by the Chinese authorities as well as
cutting a scene in which a Chinese security guard is killed during an assassination.
They decided to leave in a scene in which Bond asks a Chinese casino hostess about child
prostitution, though the Chinese subtitles deliberately misquote the secret agent, changing
his question to one about connections to the mafia as opposed to trafficking.
"Tattoo on your wrist is Macau sex trade.
You belong to one of the houses.
What were you, 12?"
Iron Man 3
One of the most shameless attempts at a China cash grab in recent years, Marvel's Iron Man
3 was influenced by Hollywood's newest eastern audience in more ways than one — the first
being the new take on Tony Stark's arch-nemesis.
There was clearly no way the racially insensitive Mandarin would ever be allowed to appear on
the big screen in China in his original comic book form.
So Marvel Studios and Iron Man 3 director Shane Black decided to scrap that version
entirely in favor of an all new, non-Asian, fake Mandarin played by Sir Ben Kingsley.
"Don't hurt the face!
I'm an actor."
"You've got a minute to live.
Fill it with words."
"Just a role.
The Mandarin!
See, it's not real."
But that was just the tip of the iceberg.
The studio also filmed a number of scenes specifically for the Chinese release, cutting
in four extra minutes of footage filled with product placement and a new Chinese mentor
for Tony Stark, Dr. Wu, who performs surgery on Stark and has a conversation with his computerized
assistant, J.A.R.V.I.S., in Mandarin.
The move backfired, however, with Chinese viewers seeing through the product placement
and questioning the logic of Dr. Wu's relevance to the story.
Since, y'know, he had none.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Hollywood movies weren't shown in China at all when the original Star Wars trilogy made
waves domestically, and as a result, George Lucas' space opera just isn't very well known
there.
That fact showed plainly in the meager box office takings for The Force Awakens.
Episode VII's poor reception was clearly a cause for concern at Disney, who made moves
to ensure that 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story didn't suffer the same fate.
Chinese stars Jiang Wen and Donnie Yen were hired in genuine supporting roles in an effort
to drum up interest in the spinoff, and their inclusion created plenty of hype.
Hong Kong-born Yen, China's second biggest action star after Jackie Chan, initially refused
the role of Chirrut over fears that his participation was just a marketing ploy.
However, director Gareth Edwards managed to convince him otherwise.
Yen told the South China Morning Post, "When the director approached me, I began by asking,
quite frankly, if it's a real character, or if he's only casting me based on commercial
considerations for the [Chinese] market.
Once he told me what my character was going to be like, and some of my lines, including
the iconic 'May the Force be with you,' I recognized the importance of my character."
Unfortunately, despite Edwards sticking to his word and even allowing Yen to choreograph
his own action sequences, Chinese audiences still didn't buy it, and the film bombed there.
Jonathan Papish from China Film Insider told TheWrap that "the small number of Donnie Yen
or Jiang Wen fans who turned out to see their faces were completely confused or bored with
the rest of the story."
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Disney responded to reports that Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, had suffered
quite the cull at the hands of China's censors by admitting that there had been some cuts.
But the Mouse House declined to elaborate further.
The franchise's previous installment, Dead Man's Chest, didn't get a release at all because
of its ghostly elements.
So for the series' third movie, Disney was happy to part ways with a number of scenes
in order to push it through.
Surprisingly, though, the scenes Chinese censors asked to be cut all involved Chow Yun-fat,
one of the most famous action stars in Chinese cinema.
It seems strange that Chinese authorities would insist on scenes featuring one of their
homegrown stars being removed from the film, but they were reportedly very unhappy with
Yun-fat's character Sao Feng.
The pirate lord of the South China Sea appears in traditional Qing dynasty garb with a shiny
bald head and long, dirty fingernails, an image censors in the country found to be an
offensive stereotype.
Most of the scenes setting up the character were deleted, making his sudden appearance
and death very confusing to Chinese audiences.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1
China insists that 14 of the 34 Hollywood films it approves for mainland screening each
year must be presented in either 3D or IMAX, formats that have proven incredibly popular
there after heavy investment in the technology.
Lionsgate used this to their advantage when it came to releasing The Hunger Games: Mockingjay
– Part 1 in China, hoping to improve upon the disappointing returns of previous installment,
Catching Fire.
The first part of the franchise finale was converted to 3D especially for China, and
when it easily bested the previous films at the box office, Part 2 was given the same
treatment.
Converting movies to 3D to make a few extra bucks doesn't always work out, however.
The Bourne movies are very well known for employing an excess of shaky-cam in their
nauseatingly shot action sequences, yet Universal sought to milk fifth installment Jason Bourne
for all it was worth and released a 3D version in China.
According to Quartz, the result was "a line of people throwing up in the restroom of the
cinema," with one film fan begging Hollywood not to do anything that dumb again.
"Please don't offer 3D just to grab money anymore.
Chinese people are not stupid, we can vote with our feet and money."
Pixels
When Sony was subject to a cyber attack from what many suspect were hackers acting on behalf
of the North Korean government, a number of sensitive emails were dumped onto the internet
for all to see.
The leak revealed details of how the Adam Sandler comedy Pixels was changed for China:
a line of dialogue mentioning a "Communist conspiracy" was given the axe, and a scene
in which the country's beloved landmark the Great Wall comes under fire by the film's
arcade-themed alien invaders was cut from the script before filming began.
Li Chow, Sony's chief rep in China, told his stateside executives that "even though breaking
a hole on the Great Wall may not be a problem as long as it is part of a worldwide phenomenon,
it is actually unnecessary because it will not benefit the China release at all.
I would then, recommend not to do it."
Chow's recommendations didn't make a whole lot of difference in the end as the much-maligned
sci-fi comedy only pulled in $15 million there anyway.
Red Dawn
At one stage it looked as though the planned remake of 1984 Cold War cult classic Red Dawn
was going to be shelved when its original studio, MGM, ran into financial difficulties.
Contrafilm took the reins and the film finally got the green light for 2012, though even
after the production wrapped, the problems were far from over.
Chinese news outlets learned that the Soviet army that waged war on small-town America
in the original Red Dawn had been replaced by Chinese invaders.
The result came in the form of headlines, like "US re-shoots Cold War Movie to Demonize
China."
Naturally, the studio's execs panicked about their chances in the Asian market.
A decision was made to change the invading Chinese army to a North Korean one, with five
different special effects companies brought in to restore hopes of scoring big in China.
They were given the unenviable task of removing all references to a country that was essential
to the plot, digitally altering dialogue, and replacing every Chinese flag and symbol.
Dan Mintz from Chinese-based distributor DMG Entertainment said that if Red Dawn had been
released in its original form in China, "there would have been a real backlash.
It's like being invited to a dinner party and insulting the host all night long."
World War Z
Considering that World War Z spent years in development hell, with Paramount completely
rewriting and reshooting the last 40 minutes of the film at a cost of $75 million, you
wouldn't think the studio would have time to worry about trivial things like where the
offending virus originated.
As you've probably guessed by now, though, the zombie outbreak that ultimately consumes
the world in World War Z was supposed to start in China.
Instead, producers changed that to Hollywood's new favorite pariah — North Korea — minimizing
the risk of getting on the wrong side of the Chinese censors.
"Why'd you sell guns to the North?"
"Why not?"
"Are they surviving this?"
"Indeed they are."
In the end their re-shoots and nitpicking paid off in a big way, as Paramount was able
to boast that World War Z ended up becoming Brad Pitt's highest-grossing film to date.
While it failed to recoup its budget domestically, it earned more than $540 million after worldwide
receipts were tallied.

DCS: M2000C Radar Special Modes ACM #12 Tutorial - English subtitles - Duration: 14:15.
welcome , this is DCSwold an M2000c
today we are going to speak about the radar modes ACM
Dogfight, basically... first let me turn the light on
to be able to see the buttons better
we start switching the radar to emitting mode
there is on front a target
you can see it there, very close
the explanation of the radar modes
the real button is this one
where the pilot has the thumb
is there where the pilot control the ACM radar
there is the function forward and backward
first I have to say when we are with master arm SAFE
if we use that button (PID) forward
as you can see the radar change the mode
it´s a 10 nm
but the HUD there is no new data
if i push... ok a contact has been locked
let´s move the plane to the left to avoid that contact
over here
I repeat
this is the normal radar mode
If I use the PID forward, the radar azimuth is closed
remind the 8 second of target history
If i use again the PID forward
let´s set up the trackir view....
now, in the top I have 2 small bars
this mode is only one bar
and the radar elevation is fixed
this is the FLOOD mode (Boresight)
and this mode have 2 bars and the radar elevation "elevated"
it´s the vertical
small differences that you can find
and this other mode
PID down
backwards
have 2 functions but the radar aspect it´s the same
I locked the target
I don´t want to get a stall
now i am going to use it with the master arm ON
with the master arm in SAFE, there is no HUD info
now we have more info on the HUD
this is the cannon
for example let´s use PID forward
radar with one line and a circle on the HUD
the boresight
basically you have to put the enemy inside the circle to lock with the radar
there is my test friend...
I´m going to show to you, but it´s as easy like trust me
there it´s the lock
all the ACM radar modes, it just how to lock the target
when the target is locked in the radar, it works as a simple STT mode
except when the doppler effect is not working due the relative speed, and you loose the track
If now manually with tms down unlock the target
the radar goes to the normal operation mode
as you can see I have the TDC and I can move it
I can manage the range
if your radar losse the radar contact, due gimbas or whatever
the dogfight mode still selected
this is the first pulsation of the PID forward
the circle, boresight mode
now I am using the cannon, for that the can symbology
a second PID forward, it´s vertical scan
this is like all the planes
50º of scan up the nose and 10º down the nose
and 10º of azimuth
for this that small indication
with the PID forward there are only those 2 modes
using PID backward we have the modes BAH and BA2
it´s a horizontal line
always horizontal
if own plane turn, the radar still scanning horizontal
because the radar was scanning regard the horizont (horizontal), the radar locked a target
If now, I have the radar antenna on the bottom
there you can see it
and I selec that dogfight mode
that antenna due the fact on the HUD there is no representation
it´s scanning
at the bottom of the coverage
now I can manually adjust the radar antenna
and manually scan from bottom to top or viceversa
because I am flight at the same altitude that the contact, I have to center the antenna elevation
If i know the contact is in a higher altitude than me, I could elevate the antenna
until the limit of elevation
the same when looking down
the radar is scanning laterally constantly
there is no patron, just one side to other
ping pong ping pong
and the pilot can manage the elevation
there is locked
this is a mode where the pilot can select easily and fast where to look with the radar
you can have your plane turning left or what ever
with some G load for example
there with the radar elevation knob you can easily search
deciding where the radar scan below o above you
remember is scanning like the horizon position, horizontally
it´s not like the vertical scan radar mode
the vertical one is always on the vertical of the plane
in this position, it also the vertical of the plane
always in this line
the vertical radar is fixed to the plane, the horizontal one is not
is fixed to the space
it have two mode BA2 and BAH
this is like the missiles, like the Aim120
the nomenclature is HPFR nad MPFR
the BA2 is MPHF and the BAH is HPFR
there is locked the target again
BAH is HPFR, it not like the radar modes
it´s other radar waves matter
I had been testing BAH and BA2 to know what is the main difference on gameplay, but I find nothing...
I do not find a practical example
with the same speed that the contact in theory the BA2 is better but I can say it for sure
this modes I think have to be something with the distance
a fast repeated pulse is for long distances and medium for shorten ones
as I told you, in my test I didn't found the why of that
this is how this radars works with the cannon
with the magic works in the same way
only some nomenclature change
there is not a big difference
vertical, boresight BA2 and BAH
there is a interesting thing with the S530
we lose some symbols here
now we have boresight an SVI modes
I drop the contact there...
with PID forward, there is the boresight mode
or flood mode
sorry
and the HUD mode
in this mode the radar is scanning in that small area with the antenna elevation fixed
that mach with the HUD FOV
this area
it´s a fast way to find a target just using the FOV of the HUD
only with the S530 missile
I am looking for the contact....
I think i miss it
it´s a fast way to lock if you know where they are
with the Super 530
remember SVI mode
look the target is over there... the radar is not locking it... lol
sometimes happen if your speed if the same that the target you can not lock it up
due the doppler effect, but I don't think it's the case right now
but with this mode looks it´s not working perfect, some kind of bug
in theory with the S520, all the mode works the same way
now it´s locked
let´s try SVI
there it´s working now
sometimes it happens that.. weird...
with the super 520, if you shoot and miss the radar lock
I tested, but I can not ensure you this is really working...
shoot the missile, miss the radar lock
then if the pilot switch to boresight mode, this one
or floor, and I put the enemy inside the circle
it´s going to lock it up
in theory
to my it´s a try of low PK
that missile could reacquire the target and track it again
you can use it in that way
I recommend only use that "tactic" if it is your last Super 530
if you shoot the first Super 530 and you lose the radar lock, shoot the second one, forget this "may be tactic"
the test that I have been doing... the PK is really low and only when the target is not maneuvering at all...
the missile have the time to predict where will be the enemy and goes in that direction even with out radar track
if the target maneuver the missile usually is a miss
I tested several times, may be the problem is that I release the target intentionally....
if sometime the enemy break the radar lock and you get work this method please tell me
you can try it but it´s veter play safe and fire a second missile
if you only have the magic left, with the second super 530 you can try it
that´s all about the ACM modes or special modes
this HOTAS functions also works with AG but we'll learn that later :D
the next video is about the cannon
I hope you have fun with this and I hope to see you in my next videos
the manual barely say a word o two of this modes
finally, have a nice day, bye bye

Audiobook Reviews | #3 - Duration: 7:53.
Hey guys it's Trina and these are my
reviews of the last five audio books
that I have listened to this year. There
are timestamps in the description in
case there is one review that you want
to just jump straight to of one of the
books that you saw in the thumbnail. Three of the
audiobooks I will be talking about
today were already in my March wrap up
and then the last two will be in my
April wrap up so don't forget to check
out my monthly reading wrap-ups if you
want to hear my thoughts on the writing,
the characters, the story overall, but in
this video I'm just going to be talking
about the narration, whether or not I
thought the voice actors did a good job,
and if it fit the story and the
characters. I've also been getting a few
questions about tips for listening to
audiobooks and I may end up doing just a
separate video on tips for listening to
audiobooks if that's something that you guys are
interested in so let me know that. Or if
you have any other questions about audio
books or like specific things that
you're wondering about my experience
with them, leave those down in the
comments of this video and I can start
to work on and see if a Q&A type of
video is something that you guys are
interested in. So into my reviews.
City of Saints and Thieves is by Natalie
C. Anderson and this audiobook was
narrated by Pascale Armand. This is a
mystery set in Kenya and it follows a
main character who fled Congo with her
mother years ago as refugees. Five years
ago, her mother was killed and our main
character has always thought she has
known what happened and who did it. The
main character is homeless and she works
with a street gang and she has an
incredible reputation as being the
city's best thief. As she and her group
are pulling off a heist in this really
wealthy house, she uncovers some more
information about her mother and she
sets out on a quest to find out what
really happened to her mom. This is a
2017 debut novel and I've done an
individual non-spoiler video review of
this book if you want to hear my
thoughts on the story and how I liked it
and everything. So this narration was
done by Pascale Armand, who is a stage and
TV actress and you can tell that she
does have an acting background in her
voice acting in this story, at least I
thought I could tell because I did
really feel like she brought the
characters to life. She reads this book
in an accent which I believe was a
Swahili accent, which fit the region
that this book was set in and I do feel
like reading it in that accent was very
very fitting of the story and the
characters. It made everything feel very
genuine. I gave the book a three star
rating but I would probably give the
narration by itself a four star rating
because I did feel like it was pretty well done.
The next audio book that I have
finished recently was A Darker Shade of
Magic by V. E. Schwab and this audio was
read by Steven Crossley. This is an
adult fantasy novel following a
character who is able to travel through
different dimensions. He has a habit of
smuggling artifacts from world to world,
which is very illegal, it's very
forbidden, and he finds himself in
possession of a very dark artifact
that's very dangerous and before he can
return it he actually gets pickpocketed
by our second main character, Lila Bard,
and they end up working together to
figure out what to do with this object.
This was a reread for me. I had
previously read the print version of
this. I am glad that I read the print
version originally because I wasn't a
huge fan of this narration. I think that
Steven Crossley's basic narration when
he's just describing the events that are
happening was very enjoyable, it was fine,
but I hated the voices that he had for
these characters. I especially hated the
way that he voiced Lila Bard. I kind of
liked his voice for Holland. I didn't
really feel like Kell fit what my
headcanon was. But Lila's accent and
voice was just, it was completely
unfitting. She had a kind of childish
voice and that's not Lila Bard at all.
That's not how I imagined Lila Bard, and
just he had zero emotion in Lila's
character and there was a tone and
quality to the way that he read these
characters and some of the narration
that felt very middle grade, which I
didn't feel was fitting for this series
because it's an adult fantasy series. My
narration rating for this one would
probably be like 2 stars or 2.5. It
just didn't work for me. I didn't feel
like it fit in tone for the genre or the
story being told and it didn't feel like
the characters' voicing really suited
them. The third audio book that I have
recently finished was American Street by
Ibi Zoboi. This audio was narrated by
Robin Miles. This is the story of a young
girl who is Haitian and she and her
mother are travelling from Haiti to the
United States to visit family but her
mother is detained at the airport by US
immigration and our main character has
to go live with her aunt and her cousins
by herself and when she gets to America
things are just not how she assumed that
they would be. The book is narrated from
the first person point of view of the
main character, Fabiola, who is Haitian, and the narrator
reads and narrates the entire book in a
Haitian Creole accent but she switches
between the Haitian accent and an
American accent for the American
characters flawlessly. I think that she
really did a good job at switching
between the voices and she really
captured the feeling and the emotions
and the personality of the main
character so I really enjoyed the
narration in this story. I would probably
give it with a 4.5 or even a 5 star
rating on narration alone, unfortunately
I just didn't enjoy this book. I have
done a full spoiler free individual
review for American Street and I also
talked about it briefly in my March wrap
up if you want to hear more of my
thoughts on the book itself. I also
finished The Thousandth Floor by
Katharine McGee. This is a YA
futuristic story that follows five
different characters' points of views and
it's set a hundred years in the future
where New York instead of being a
sprawling city they have built one tower
like on Central Park and everybody in
New York lives in this tower. There are a
thousand floors and the higher up you
live in this tower, the wealthier and
the more popular that you are. This story
at all about secrets, lies, drama, parties.
It's a very Pretty Little Liars type of
feeling. This audiobook was narrated by
Phoebe Strole and I don't have a ton of
thoughts on the narration. I thought it
was pretty average. There's more of a
fault in the writing than in the
narration itself of sometimes I couldn't
tell all of these characters apart. I
would say that I would give the
narration of this audiobook probably
like a 3 star rating. It was pretty
moderate, pretty average. Nothing stood
out to me as being fantastic but nothing
stood out to me as being horrible either.
The last audiobook I have to review
for you guys is The Princess Diarist
written by Carrie Fisher and this
audiobook was also narrated by Carrie
Fisher herself and parts of it were
narrated by her daughter Billie Lourd.
Carrie Fisher of course is the actress
that played Princess Leia in the Star
Wars films and she recently passed away.
This one is all talking about her time
on the set of Star Wars. She wrote this
book because she stumbled upon the
diaries that she kept while she was
filming the first Star Wars film and so
that kind of prompted her to reflect on
that time in her life. Obviously she gets
a 5 star rating for narration
because this is her story, she reads it
the way that she meant to. It was
extremely heart wrenching and emotional
to listen to this book because she did
so recently pass away and she very
frequently in the book speculates about
what people will think of her after she's dead
and it was just kind of difficult to
listen to that but I mean her narration
was of course wonderful and very genuine
because she's reading her own story. If
you like celebrity memoirs that are read
by the author themselves I think it's
one that you should check out. Those are
my thoughts on the narration of these
last five audio books that I have
listened to. So out of these five, if
I were going to recommend just one of
them, tell you which one my favorite
was, I would probably say The Princess
Diarist because that whole aspect of having
a celebrity read their own story is
always appealing and I think that it
would have more of a wide appeal. But
besides that one, if you don't like
nonfiction then I think my favorite
narration wise was American Street. Even
though I did not enjoy that story and I
thought that it had some very
problematic elements, which if you want
to know more about that please check out
my individual review because I go into
detail about it. I did think that the
narrator did a really good job and so if
you're wondering about this book and you
want to know if you want to pick it up, I
would recommend the audio format because
that was what kept me engaged and kept
me reading during that story. If you have
any other questions for me about these
audio books please ask me that down
below. If not, I'll see you with some
more audiobooks soon. Thank you for
watching and I will see you in the comments. Bye!

Our Enterprise Outreach System (Cold Call and Cold Email Work Reports) - Duration: 4:39.
The last couple months at Experiment 27,
we have been heavily focused on production,
making sure that all the work we deliver
is the highest quality, making sure we're either
on time or ahead of schedule for all our accounts,
and making sure customer service is top-notch.
One of the best ways to make sure that customers
don't churn is to be generating a consistent ROI.
And in this video, I wanna run through the actual document
that we use with our cold emailing and cold calling team
that they report on daily
that helps them get that work done.
So let's jump into it.
So here's the Enterprise Outreach doc,
and what we did to create this is I talked to our best
cold caller, cold emailer, and took her entire process,
basically made her write it out, day by day,
and translated it into this Google document.
And it's set up basically like a video game.
So weekly targets are right here.
Initial emails go out.
Less than 100 is red.
100 to 150 is yellow.
151 to 199 is green,
and over 200.
VAs/Lead List Approval, Follow-up Email,
Follow-up Calls, you've got some notes.
And the way that you use this is each one of their
four clients is on its own column.
So when Monday comes around, let's say, for example,
Liban would come to this
Sent initials emails for new clients.
Right now, they're checking this, and he'll write like 200,
and then it'll turn green,
and Send over new assignment to the VAs,
so did he send over the type of leads
that the virtual assistant is supposed to generate?
Yes, he did,
and then that's green as well.
Send initial emails to new contacts for client two.
Let's say he sends like 174, and the way we have this
set up, the colors change depending on how much they are,
and it's a gradual progression upwards,
all the way to green.
Right now the sales guys put this in manually,
but in the future, our project manger will check
the inboxes on their behalf and put in these numbers
based on what Yesware says.
They put this in, they fill out what works.
Followup emails on Tuesday, let's say you sent 50
for this client, you know, 40 for this one,
65 for this one, and 100 for this one,
and it'll auto-update the colors.
Followup calls, 50 for each client,
so he's a little underperforming here.
Check-in with VAs, and each time he checks in,
he writes the yes, so he checked in
for each of these clients, and it's very simple.
What we've already seen by making our sales people follow
this process is, one, we've seen an increase in results.
So we've seen an increase in the amount of meetings
booked directly tied to them filling in these documents.
So it works in that regard.
The other thing we've seen
is less confusion on behalf of our sales team.
So before we implemented this process,
we gave our sales team a goal.
So let's say it's two to three meetings per week,
per client, and they've got four clients,
and that's the goal that they had.
That's what they have to accomplish,
but we didn't really give too much training
besides what we had in these YouTube videos,
but by laying it out like this, we literally break down
what they have to do every single day,
and the feedback that we've gotten from the team
is that this makes the job a lot simpler,
and in terms of the actual process,
that's the other piece of value here.
Monday, he sends initial emails to new contacts,
so he sends about a thousand emails on Monday
from the leads that the virtual assistant
has generated the last week, which are delivered
on Friday for the client to approve.
On Tuesday, he's sending mostly follow-up emails,
which could be relatively automated on Yesware
and follow-up calls.
So this is mostly a day to do phone calls,
cold calls, usually about 200, 300 a day.
Wednesday, it's follow-up emails and check in with VAs.
Wednesday's a relatively easy day to make up
for Monday and Tuesday being hard work days.
Thursday, again, is a day like Tuesday
where it's cold calls, checking in with the VAs
to make sure the work is happening on time,
and then Friday, you're doing follow-up emails again,
collecting the lead list from the VAs, and then sending
the lead list to the client to approve for Monday.
So, Friday's a pretty easy day.
Wednesday's a pretty easy day,
and that leaves Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
for hardcore grinding
and hitting your numbers.
So hopefully this doc helps.
I'm gonna put it in the description field
so you can go ahead and download this,
use this for your own team.
Feel free to give feedback below,
anything you'd change about this process,
or implement it for your team,
let it go for week or two,
and then leave feedback.
That's always the best type of feedback, right?
The type based on real experience.
Feel free to like this video
to encourage this type of content on YouTube.

How To Turnaround A Struggling Business... PLUS - Is Monsanto Evil? | #FFLTV Ep 19 - Duration: 17:47.
- Alright, ready to go?
- [Cameraman] Ready.
- What's up Fast Laners?
Welcome to Freedom Fast Lane TV.
Today we're talking about Monsanto.
Uh oh!
Somebody's going to get upset.
We'll look at selling low margin products in order to build
brand equity and we'll look at
an anti-dog cancer brand.
Okay!
Show some clips!
(light upbeat music)
Ha.
Oh boy.
So, news came out this past month that the food giant,
Monsanto, might have known that spraying chemicals on food
was bad for you.
What?
They knew?
Who would have thought?
Some leaked documents between the EPA and some executives
on Monsanto suggested that they might have had knowledge
that they tried to cover up so the news says.
Now, uh oh!
(wailing siren)
Controversial statement coming.
I have never been on the anti-Monsanto train
because they've just done what has been allowed
by both customers and the government.
So, as we look at this, at what has gone on,
I think there is someone even more guilty than Monsanto.
And I think the blame lies squarely on government.
When we have something like this come out,
when we see that a company has done something dirty,
especially when it comes from leaked documents that are
communicated between a company and government,
blame automatically goes to the company.
But I say, why are we not more upset at the real culprit
which is government, which stamps approval onto companies
through crony capitalism and says keep doing
what you're doing.
This is what happens when government
gets in bed with business.
This is the danger of creating agencies that are supposed to
take care of us or be watch dogs or have oversight
over other companies or make sure
that individuals are protected.
This is the danger because when you trust that to government
the government is now the stamp of approval
of a lot of stuff that you don't know that goes on,
rather than allowing the market to allow information to flow
and for customers to get what they demand.
If the EPA and the government regulation was out of the way,
customer demand would be king rather than government
approval or government's big stamp and they're okay
of things going into the marketplace.
If you want real change, if you want the causes that
you believe in, to exist in the world and to be available
in the marketplace, the worst thing we can possibly do
is give control over to a government organization.
That will only slow down progress because we don't rise
to the standard that government sets.
We fall to the lowest common denominator
that government allows.
It's just like no child left behind.
We think that is going to drive up the quality of education.
Well, that's what it was intended to do but what happens
instead is we fall to a minimum standard that the government
sets and then we all complain why is education
so out of whack in this country.
So, yes, we should all be upset about the fact that
there are chemicals sprayed on our food
and that it's allowed.
But we don't blame only the organization that's doing it,
we blame the organization that we have indirectly elected
and said it's okay to do this.
The solution, by the way, is not to change the guard
at the EPA.
The solution is not to have more regulation or more
government oversight, it is to eliminate it altogether
and put individuals through private exchange
through capitalism in charge through what they demand
in the marketplace.
That is how you will get the change
that you want to see in the world.
(upbeat techno music)
- [Narrator] Alan Perlmuter asks is it okay to sell products
with no profit margin along with highly profitable products
in order to boost recognition?
- How you doing whoever's editing this video?
Ha ha.
Okay, to go in a completely different direction,
is it okay to sell low margin products alongside
high margin products to boost brand recognition?
Absolutely!
In fact, there's this quote that I like that I might have
made up so we'll give credit to Ryan Daniel Moran for saying
he who is willing to lose money the longest usually
wins in the marketplace.
What I mean by that is the longer you can delay the profit,
or make it deeper in your customer funnel,
the more money you will ultimately make because there's this
term that Digital Marketer kind of coined, the tripwire.
What is the product that everybody wants and they're
usually buying on price that if you were able to eliminate
all profit margin and just sell in the marketplace
to get customers, now flow into your other
higher margin products,
what would be that in your customer experience?
And I think that is a great thing
for most business owners to consider.
The thing that I find dangerous, or really short-sighted,
in most people's businesses is they just look
at a marketplace and say what are people buying,
let's sell that, and let's just do it cheaper.
Because then we just have price wars and things falling.
But if you want to have a piece of your overall product
portfolio dedicated to just getting as many customers
as possible, go for it and then lead them into your
higher profit products.
I think that is the fastest way to grow a company
because you get the most customers.
Now, most people who are out there selling physical products
are just selling products rather than serving people.
The difference here is if you're just selling spatulas is my
classic example, then you've got to sell low margin products
and make two dollars a spatula over and over and over again.
And the minute somebody moves in and sells a spatula
for less than you, you're screwed
and you're out of business.
Whereas, if you serve moms, you have 1,000 products
that you can sell that demographic.
So spatulas could be a no margin product that you sell
just to get in front of more moms so they come in
and they buy more stuff.
And by doing so, you get more moms, which ultimately builds
your business because they're going to buy spatulas,
and they're going to buy food, and they're going to buy
all kinds of things.
So, if you have higher margin products, and you should,
then I think it's totally good strategy to sell low margin
products to get more customers in.
The danger is in if you're just selling commodities,
if you're just selling low margin products,
that is a really hard way to build a business.
(upbeat techno music)
- [Narrator] Ryan Nemecek asks what advertising method
did you have the best return on when you first started
selling physical products?
- What advertising method did have the best ROI?
Well, when we first had just one product and I was still
figuring this game out, we threw everything at the wall.
But I know for a fact that doing Amazon pay-per-click
and doing giveaways had an immediate ROI because,
at least at that time, it was fairly easy to rank
for keywords on Amazon and that was what drove the majority
of our revenue for those first two years or so.
When we really figured out what we were doing,
and when we had more than one product, then it all came from
our customer list and from our mailing list.
So, if you have one product in the marketplace
and you're trying to sell product, then I would say
the old school, and by old school I mean the stuff
I've been teaching for three, four years about ranking
for keywords on Amazon and taking sales,
probably will have the best ROI.
I don't recommend that most business owners go out there
with one product.
I recommend that they build brands,
that they collect three to five products or product ideas
that they're going to build their business around.
And if that's the case, then you need to go out and get
audience members on an email list or a Facebook page
or an Instagram following, and you need to be promoting
your brand to those people.
And that is going to be the best ROI.
I hate to dodge the question but there are many ways
to skin this cat.
If you ask Dollar Shave Club what their best ROI was,
they'd say, um, that one video that we spent $5,000 on
that was seen by millions of people and put us on the map.
That's the reason why we sold for a billion dollars.
So, the important thing is that you have some way
to drive up enough attention to take sales from day one.
Whether that is using an outside blast service to give away
as much of your product as possible so that you rank
for keywords, or you have a mailing list,
or you have the ability to create a viral video
and get it in front of lot of people.
Any of these will accomplish that goal.
The important thing is that you make a splash in front of
as many people as possible for as long as possible,
even if that means going in the red to do so,
so that you get the collective awareness for the brand
that you're building.
And the collective awareness might mean
ranking for keywords, it might mean having 1,000 people
on an email list, it means that in the follow-up promotions
you can crank the lever and take sales and be profitable.
But that initial stage is all about drumming up enough
awareness so that when you have a follow-up,
that one is profitable.
So, whatever method you're comfortable with,
you're good at executing, and you're willing to go
into the red or at least break even to do that,
that is the process for setting yourself up for success.
When we did that it was through running as much Amazon
pay-per-click as possible and also doing as many give aways
as we were comfortable with so that we had customers,
we had reviewers, and we had the keyword rankings
that would make subsecantsway,
you know what I'm saying.
The next sales and the next products profitable
and that's how we dominated but there are multiple ways
to skin that cat.
(upbeat techno music)
This is the part of the show where we look at one of our
student's businesses, analyze what they could be
doing better, and where they're sitting on opportunities.
Today's submission comes from Brandon Floyd.
His product business is Otis Dog Factors.
Otis Dog Factors is only selling a handful of products
per day and I wanted to highlight this brand because I think
they're sitting on a really cool opportunity that with one
little tweak, they could go from what is right now
just an idea taking a few customers a day to something
that is truly a brand and a big business.
So what I'm going to do is I want to read Brandon's question
word for word because it sets the tone for how I want to
answer this question.
First of all, the, this is a pet supplement brand
and they exist to address certain diseases in the dog world.
So that would be cancer, diabetes, under eating,
lack of energy, and he goes on
with a list of other symptoms.
His exact question looks like this.
I have developed a respectable audience size on social media
and I have a decent sized email list but I'm not seeing
conversions from any of these sources.
What are some other strategies I can implement to attract
customers to my product?
This is a very new and very unique product
and most customers, if any at all, are not familiar with it.
We can fix that.
It is hard to gain the attention of the masses if there are
no other products like this one to compare to.
I disagree.
Now, what this shows is you are looking at what's currently
in the marketplace and saying how do I do exactly
what they're doing but with a completely different product?
I say that is the wrong question to ask.
You're addressing a problem that pretty much every dog owner
has or will have or is afraid to have.
So you don't highlight your product,
you don't highlight your differentiating factor,
you highlight the pain point.
If you hit the pain point hard enough,
or really more accurately enough,
if you can describe the pain as well as the customer can,
then it almost doesn't matter what your product is.
If you can describe the pain, then almost any solution
will resonate with the people listening.
The way you can do this, I'd recommend doing videos
on Facebook and/or YouTube talking about the problem
and then highlighting your product.
So, obviously Brandon, you care about your customers,
you care about what is in your product.
So, I know you're not the type of person who would just sell
rice flower as a pet supplement, so if it's actually a good
product that you think the world needs to have,
then it's your duty to highlight the pain and connect them
to your product.
You'll do that by talking about the causes of the problem,
talking about case studies of people who have experienced
the problem and then showing how your product is different
enough to where they should choose you to solve the problem.
I would not recommend comparing your product
to someone else's product.
I would compare your product to the pain
that the customer is experiencing.
I would also recommend that you listen to the podcast
that we did with Lori Taylor.
Lori has a brand very similar to this.
It's called TruDog.
She's not solving the same problems that you have,
she's selling dog food, but she talks about how she
developed her brand story.
She talks about how she connected with customers
and how she used Facebook to build
an eight figure company in about 18 months.
So, I'd recommend you go over to freedomfastlane.com
or you subscribe on iTunes and listen to the podcast
episode with Lori Taylor.
There is a tremendous amount of money in the pets world.
The reason why your product is not resonating right now
is because you are not truly communicating the pain
that your product solves.
If you focus on that and you go off of Amazon
and you drum up support from other places where people
are already having this conversation, you'll have no problem
turning this brand into a multimillion dollar business.
I would recommend going out and putting your message
in front of where your audience already hangs out.
So that could be pet forums, it could be Facebook groups,
it could be other blogs that have email lists.
If your product does what you say it does,
then it's an easy sell because everybody knows this pain
is already out there.
So, communicate the pain in your product marketing,
connect with the people who control the eyeballs
in this market, and Otis Dog Factors will have no problem
hitting seven figures in the next 12 months.
That case study was such a perfect example of the fact that
I think private business and capitalism is the best shot
that we have at solving really, really big problems.
We have a lot of those in the world and the temptation today
is to wait for the right guy or the right girl to come in
and solve all of them, and the right government agency
to reflect what you believe.
But I think it comes down to personal responsibility
that solves all the world's problems.
Whether that is personal responsibility of you demanding
certain things in the marketplace or you holding
both politicians and businesses accountable
for their actions and the effects that they have
on the environment and in people's bodies.
That's your responsibility.
And it is also entrepreneurs' responsibility to solve
big problems through the products that they
put into the marketplace.
So kudos to Brandon for solving such a big problem
with the products that he wants to release in the world.
I think that's why entrepreneurs are our best shot.
We need as many of them as possible and we need less
government and more personal responsibility if we want
the world that we all desire and envision.
Thanks for watching the show.
I appreciate you sharing this message with any
entrepreneur or future entrepreneur
that would find value in it.
We'll see you guys on the next episode
of Freedom Fast Lane TV.
Hey, if you guys are in the mood for a case study

And by that I mean, you'd rather die

Oh.
Is there something wrong?
Nothing. Let's get down to business.
So it's like this.
After some deliberation, we think your book is very good.
So we decided to once again submit it for a Top 100 award.
Really? Great!
But about the publishing aspect.
We still have to consider some issues.
Publication?
What are the issues with publication?
Your work isn't a problem,
- But from a reader's point of view... - What did you change?
No no.
From the packaging perspective...
For example, the graphic design of the book cover.
The binding of the book.
And some publicity is needed.
Thanks.
From this perspective
Appropriate publicity is required.
You don't agree?
I agree I agree. Go on.
Now that you've agreed.
We can proceed with the next steps!
You don't want to know the next step?
I leave it to you.
I'm off.
Hey...
Hey kitty.
Excuse me. May I help you?
Uh no, that's not necessary, it's just that...
It's...
It's because...
With my boyfriend we used to have a cat like this.
And uh...
And, we broke up.
And now I have to leave.
Sad...
Goodbye you.
Thanks.
Good bye.
You guys are happy...
Unlike me.
Tell me... What should I do?
Handsome guy, I'm here to apologize.
I know you're in there.
You've had... You've had experience with this.
The truth is, it's not that I don't like you.
Firstly... I've never been with a man before.
I don't have any experience.
Secondly.
I really cannot hold it back.
I don't... know how to say this...
Say something!
What are you doing?
I thought you were ignoring me.
Are you tired?
Are you?
What I mean is that if you're not tired.
Help me to do the laundry.
Suddenly I'm very tired...
Stop! Stop! Stop!
If you keep this up.
Stop or I'll get you!
Stop that!
Okay Okay. I'll do it! I'll do it!
Are you washing it for me?
I'll wash them for you, what more do you want?
Wash the clothes or your in trouble!
Liange Ze, it's almost New Years.
Xiao Ji wants to have a meal with us.
Can we join him?
Are you free this afternoon?
Hello.
- Go ahead and order. - That's okay you order.
You go ahead and order, it's fine.
Okay then I'll order.
Do you guys want fish?
Yeah sure.
Then I'll order... one fish head.
I'll order... some meat.
Ah! This.
This one.
I'll order... Andographis salad.
How many dishes should we have?
Anything else you want to order?
- That's enough. - That's enough.
Then that will be it.
We'll just order more if it's not enough.
The three of you ordered quite a lot, I'll prepare the dishes.
Wait!
Is there anything else sir?
I think I've seen you before somewhere.
Sorry, have we met before?
Come here.
Do you think you've met him somewhere before?
I haven't come to this restaurant.
Weren't you the one who booked the table?
Forget it. We've never seen him then.
As the saying goes, it's a small world.
You probably saw him somewhere else.
I'm sure I've seen him somewhere before!
Why are you so concerned about the waiter?
You don't understand.
Look at you getting jealous!
Who's jealous?
...
Oh, I need to take this call.
Hello [?] [What's up?]
What, can't use any of them?
Not even me in the American Indian chief costume?
Tomorrow... What?
What's up?
They can't use any of the pictures I sent them.
Why can't they be used?
The pictures he sent to the publisher...
One's a cosplay of a native American Indian chief.
You think they'll use it?
They want the pictures by tomorrow.
[?]
I know a photographer.
His name is Yi KeFeng.
He's a really good photographer.
How about you see him for a photo?
Great! Is he available this afternoon?
Don't panic, I'll check for you.
If he's free, you can go this afternoon.
How's this?
No.
This is my favourite outfit.
You're saying no?
The publisher wants something simple and plain.
Then you help me pick an outfit.
Okay.
Here! Let's try this one.
Turn around.
Not bad.
I feel so wierd!
It's not wierd at all.
I think this one's not bad either.
Doesn't it look the same?
Black is more formal. Blue is more lively.
Which one is better?
I'll buy both.
We'll try both again when we're at the studio.
Hurry!
It's almost time.
Hang Hang!
Oh it's you!
What are you doing here?
I'm taking Liang Ze to a photoshoot.
But I can't find it!
Come come! Come this way it's faster.
- Thanks! - It's nothing.
[Photographer giving instructions to the model.]
Okay, enough!
Good!
Really good!
Today you're a little nervous.
Right right right.
Next time... Let's work together again.
Okay, thank you, sorry to trouble you!
- Hi KeFeng. - Hi.
- How have you been? - Good good.
Teacher Yi, I'm Qi Ji's friend, the one who called you earlier.
Okay okay, no need for introductions.
Here is your next model.
- I'm going now, bye bye! - Okay bye bye! - Bye bye! - Bye bye!
So. Change your clothes first.
- Okay. - Okay.
Hello
- Hello, you're Qi Ji's friend aren't you?
- And you Hang Hang? - Correct.
The owner of the pet shop.
Qi Ji has told me about you.
I see, sorry to trouble you!
It's okay.
Is he still inside?
Yes, he's still inside.
Okay, we'll wait then, no problem.
Do you think my shirt is a bit too big?
I'm not that skinny.
No, I think it's fine.
We can start any time now.
I'll go get the equipment ready.
Do you think I look absurd?
No, I think you look great!
The publisher wants me to dress like this... Take pictures like this...
I feel dazed.
Why aren't you saying anything?

This video show one solution to
force wall projections, with different height levels.
The following model has a serie of houses.
Each one with different elevations.
However, in plan view,
all wall must have their projections displayed.
It not happens because the wall had their elevations changed by user during multiplication.
As it is showned in this section view.
To get the required projections,
select walls,
go to setting dialogue, and find the option "Symbolic Cut"
Ok! Solved.
Now, doing the same operation to other houses.
Ok! Solved.

Jabberwocky - Lewis Carroll (Poem narrated by Jordan Harling) | Jordan Harling Reads - Duration: 1:29.
'Twas brillig and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock my son!
The jaws that bite the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand; Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree And stood awhile in thought.
And as in uffish thought he stood The Jabberwock with eyes of flame
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood And burbled as it came!
One two!
One two!
And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead and with its head He went galumphing back.
"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms my beamish boy!
O frabjous day!
Callooh!
Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.
'Twas brillig and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves And the mome raths outgrabe.
Jabberwocky - Written by Lewis Carroll.
