CHAPTER XXIII

JOE IN THE BOX

"Well, when are you fellows going to start?" asked Tony Johnson, captain of the Academy

nine, as he ceased his catching practice with Ed.

Wilson, the pitcher.

"The game ought to have been called ten minutes ago."

"Our pitcher isn't here," said Darrell anxiously.

"We're expecting him every minute.

If you could wait a little longer——"

"Haven't you any one else you can put in?" asked Ferd Backus, the manager.

"I saw some one practicing a while ago."

"He isn't our regular pitcher," said George Rankin, "but if Sam doesn't come

we'll have to lead off with him."

Joe had been aware that Sam was not on hand.

He looked up as car after car passed the grounds, thinking to see Sam enter, for the electric

vehicles from Riverside ran close to the Academy diamond.

"I suppose they'll put Parnell in at the start,"[186] Joe mused, naming the second

baseman who sometimes acted as pitcher for the Stars.

Joe did not dare hope that he himself would be chosen.

"Well, how much longer?"

demanded Johnson, when two more cars had passed and Sam was on neither of them.

"We want to finish this game before dark."

"All right," assented Darrell briskly.

"Get your men ready, Rankin."

"But who will pitch?"

"Joe Matson, of course.

It's the only thing we can do.

Take the field, fellows.

Joe, take your place in the box!"

"Who—me?"

gasped our hero, unable to believe the words.

"Yes, you," and Darrell smiled.

"Do your prettiest now.

You're going in at the beginning instead of at the end.

It's different from what I planned, but I guess I can depend on you.

Hold 'em down!"

"I will!" cried Joe fiercely and he forgot his injured arm.

"Play ball!" ordered the umpire and Joe took his place as pitcher for the Silver Stars

for the first time.

No wonder his heart beat faster than usual.

The Stars were to bat last, Rankin having won the toss.

It must be remembered that these[187] boys were amateur players and did not always follow

league rules of having the home team up last.

The usual number of practice balls were allowed between Joe and the catcher at the plate and

Bart noted with satisfaction that Joe was cool and steady and that he did not try for

speed.

Then the first man for the Academy—their best hitter—faced our hero.

Bart gave the signal for a slow straight ball over the plate at an angle.

It was the beginning of a cross-fire which he and Joe had quickly agreed upon, and, as

is well known, the ability of a pitcher to deliver a good cross-fire wins many games.

Cross-firing is merely sending the ball first over one side of the plate then the other

and then right over centre.

Joe had done it in practice.

Could he do it in the game?

"Strike one!" called the umpire, when the first ball found lodgment in Bart's

big glove.

There was a little gasp of protest from the Academy crowd, but they said nothing.

Their man had not struck at the ball, but it had been in the right place and Joe knew

he had a fair umpire with whom to deal.

His next delivery was a ball, but the third was a strike though the man had not moved

his bat.

[188]

"Hit it—hit it!"

pleaded his friends.

The batter swung fiercely at the next ball and knocked a little pop fly which Bart gathered

in and one man was down.

"Do it again!" called Darrell to his pitcher, and Joe smiled.

His arm pained him a little, but he gritted his teeth and delivered the next man a strike,

for the batter missed it cleanly.

He was not so lucky in his following trial, for the batter got to first mainly because

of an error in the play of Fred Newton, at short, who fumbled the pick-up and delayed

in getting the ball to Darrell.

Joe succeeded in striking out the third man up, though the one who had gone to first managed

to steal second.

There were now two out and a man on the middle bag when Joe faced his fourth opponent.

He tried for a slow out but something went wrong and the man hit for two sacks, bringing

in the run.

But that was all, for the next batter fell for some slow, easy balls and fanned the air.

The Academys had one run and it looked a trifle disheartening to the Silver Stars until they

came up and found that the pitcher opposed to them was very weak.

They hammered him pretty badly in the last half of the first, and three runs were credited

to them ere they had to take the field again.

[189]

"Not so bad; eh?" asked Rankin of Darrell.

"Fine, if Joe can only keep it up.

How's your arm?" he asked him.

"Fine!" exclaimed our hero, but in truth it pained him considerably in spite of the

treatment Tom Davis gave it.

The Academy team didn't get a run in the second inning though Joe was found for some

short, scattering hits.

A man got to second and one to third, mainly through errors in the outfield force, one

bad one being furnished by Tom, who was at centre in Joe's place.

"But we'll forgive you for getting Joe's arm in shape," said the manager with a smile.

In their half of the second the Stars got two runs, and succeeded in forcing another

goose egg on their opponents in the home team's half of the third.

Joe did not do so well this time, for he was beginning to tire and only a brace on the

part of his supporting players saved him from having a number of runs come in on his errors.

One run for the Stars marked their efforts in the third and when the fourth inning began

it looked as if it was a foregone conclusion that the visiting team would go home with

the scalp of their enemy.

But Joe could not keep up the pace[190] he had set for himself.

No young and inexperienced pitcher could, much less one with a sore arm.

The muscles ached very much in spite of all Tom could do with rubbing in the liniment,

but Joe gritted his teeth and keep his place in the pitcher's box.

He knew he dared not give in.

Only two runs were earned, however, though he was pretty badly pounded, and this only

made the score three to six in favor of the Stars, when their half of the fourth came.

But they were unable to better it for the Academy lads took a brace after an earnest

appeal by their captain and manager.

"Make 'em take a goose egg!" yelled the student lads to their friends, and the

Stars were forced to be content with this.

In the fifth inning neither side scored, Joe holding his own well, and only allowing one

hit, which amounted to nothing.

And in the sixth when, with only three scattered hits, not a run was chalked up for the home

team, Darrell ran over to Joe and cried:

"Fine, old man!

Can you keep it up?"

"I—I'm going to!" burst out Joe, though he had to grit his teeth to keep back an expression

of pain when he moved his pitching arm.

20 Good Luck Charms from around the world that REALLY WORK… Maybe! - Duration: 4:49.

Hey!

Welcome back.

The other day, I told you my secrets for how to be lucky like a cat.

Part of that was getting yourself a good old-fashioned good luck charm so here you have the top good

luck charms that really work!

If you have no idea what Im talking about – go watch last week's video first!

Pigs are sometimes given as gifts that bring happiness and luck though you might want to

consider picking a pig amulet not a pig pig since, while they can be awesome pets, cats

are just better.

Goldfish are believed to bring luck and prosperity so dust off that old fish bowl and snag yourself

a little gold fishy just treat it well and remember to feed it!

Turtles are well known in chinese culture to symbolize longevity – I mean they live

for a REALLY long time but they are also known to represent great life opportunities that

are about to come your way so – kind if an early warning system that good luck is

coming.

Dolphins are believed to offer protection and bring good luck though unless you happen

to live near the coast you might find locating a dolphin a little difficult.

Either way – a dolphin charm might just protect you from bad luck and open you to

some good.

5 Ladybugs will tell you when good luck and prosperity is coming and if you can find a

ladybug amulet, they are said to free you of day-to-day problems and let you focus on

grabbing the bigger luck.

Just don't ever kill one in your house.

Not only is that supposed to bring bad luck it turns out that a ladybug is usually in

your house to let you know money si on the way!

A rabbits foot is a well-known good luck charm but as an animal who loves animals, I'm

gonna say you'll be luckier if you keep the whole rabbit close.

A cricket on the hearth has been a sign of good household luck for thousands of years

plus they are said to be very good at alerting you to danger!

At any sign of danger, the chirping will stop.

If you're a gambler, then an alligator tooth is the charm for you since some African cultures

know that they bring good luck while gambling.

Its not all about the animals though.

Cat's Eye – the gem not a real cats eye – helps you get ahead in life.

Well, I guess the real life eye gets me ahead but you stick with the gem.

In india, its thought that if you carry a cat's eye your fortune will never diminish

and it's a gemstone of choice amongst gamblers so don't gamble too far – just get yourself

one!

Two other gemstones win out as good luck charms – Amber – though to hold a bit of the

sun inside it – is believed to bring good luck and since the stone can give off sparks

if you rub it just right – its really very cool too.

Sapphires also make the list.

Since ancient times its been believed that sapphires draw the favor of the gods and more

recently people use it to bring health and wealth.

If money is your goal, coins are an excellent good luck charm.

If you keep a jar of pennies in your kitchen – your household will have good luck

Keep track of that first coin you get each day.

If you put it in an empty left pocket, it will attract more coins for your.

The date might matter if you're looking for a general, year-round coin charm – try

for a coin minted in your birth year and coins that have holes or are bent are the best.

A key is one of the oldest charms people carry as a symbol of luck as well as a darned good

way to get through any door, a key is also believed to open the door to allow your prayers

to be heard and answered making it a nice choice for a good luck charm.

Dream catchers are not just cool decorations, they gather in good dreams for yuo and do

away with the bad.

A popular concept about good luck is – if you can dream it you can do it so a dream

catcher is a must have good luck piece!

If you have a special day coming up, put Lucky Bamboo on your list.

It is said that receiving lucky bamboo also brings you good luck.

Put it in the east part of the room to make things even Better!

Horseshoe have been hung open end up, for protection on many continents by many types

of people so try it and maybe you can capture all the bad luck inside the horseshoe letting

the good luck float freely straight to you.

Acorns and oak trees bring good fortune and provide protection.

Even the Vikings knew that which is one reason they often placed a lone acorn on their windowsills

to protect their houses from lightning.

If horseshoes and acorns aren't your thing, get an egg.

Eggs are traditionally used in spells to bring good fortune and get rid of bad energies – just

go with the white eggs since they are universally considered to bring better luck though I taste

no difference.

Wheels and circles are seen as the perfect good luck piece in many cultures so they make

perfect amulets or charms to carry around – or I guess you could ride in it.

Whichever.

20 If all else fails, simply find a pyramid that you love.

The three sides are said to symbolize the cycles of life

Even the US dollar features one so perhaps this is the best good luck charm if what you

are looking for is money.

Just hold onto dollars.

There you have 20 good luck charms believed in and beloved the world over.

Whether you choose a statue, charm, amulet or even the real life object, grab yourself

one and if you missed the video on how to have cat-like good luck – watch it now.

Oh and click subscribe because I'll be back tomorrow!

Summer Nights Drape Hijab Tutorial - Framed People - Duration: 1:40.

This is our fair trade chiffon fabric

We use a low denier number to ensure our chiffon is light, airy, and buttery soft

The lower the denier, the lighter and silkier the fabric is

Harmful chemicals like azo dyes and chlorinated solvents are often used in the process of dying fabric

I wouldn't want that stuff on my head!!

Our fabrics are free from these toxic chemicals

I custom designed our rose gold piping

I drew it out and had my manufacturers' partners' bring my design to life

It's my favorite!

We're always turned off when we see modest clothing made in China

Ironically, the majority of the hijabs being sold in the US are made there

(and probably bought from Alibaba, but you didn't hear this from me ;)

This is something you're literally putting on your face!

All our hijabs are made right here in the USA

DRUZIBEER - DIY Agitador Magnético (veja o que aconteceu!!!) - Duration: 15:19.

Hello everyone, Tiago Druzian here

Today I will show about stir plate

Very simple and easy that worked way too well!

I am making this video after everything is done

But it worked so well that i am happy and proud to show it to you

OK? Now, the video!

Hello everyone, i was not going to make a video for this

I am building my own stir plate

Here we have...

A cooler 110v 240v

Here i will use the 110v

For this, i will connect blue+black and red+green

and here you can see that is done

I bought this box from Steck

the size is OK and i also bought 4 feet for it

i did....

aaaaaaaa.....

screw...

aaaa

God damnit

a screw and bolts

in the inside part

Measured all ok in order to fit correclty

here in the fan holes...

those holes from the fan

so it will fit perfectly on the screws...

(sorry, but with just one hand is just impossible)

I measured the heights for the bolts

and they are all in the same height now

this white stuff is something from the glue

at night I let it dry up to this morning

and now has this white stuff in it...and also on the lid!

really strange

oh well... after i will close the lid and close with the screws that came with it

and will be like that

besides that, we will need

a power plug, 1 meter of cable

this cable is not big, let me see if I find here...

Here... PP cable, 3x1mm², I think I won't need any bigger than that

but anyhow, I have this other cable that is bigger... 3x1,5mm²

But i will use the 3x1

also a universal dimmer

tools to...

cut the cables and etc...

in order to assembly

what I have been told is that this cooler actually heats a lot! So i will have to open some holes on the box

I don't know If I make them small like a false bottom, bigger holes or whatever

in the sides i will make small holes as well

I tried to take of the burr of with a knife... didn't get to well.. but beauty is not my aim... it is to be funciontal

here.... box Steck

here I will use two neodimians magnetics... 20mm diameter x 5mm high

I bought at casadosimas.com.br, here in Curitiba

and this magnets are extremely strong

they are not glued here yet, i will have to see

but look, the cooler will mount on the screws

here I will add extra bolts, in order to fix it

and that is it

second part

I made the wiring from the cooler

here, i am following the same pattern from my electrical box...

Phase 1 goes to the dimmer and back to the cooler

and phase 2, connected directly to the cooler

but in this case, since I am using 110v, it is not phase, it is neutral!

also i have the ground here... that i will try to fix that on the cooler... but if doesn't work, it is not necessary

well, next step is to make a hole for the dimmer

i have a small grinding machine from Black and Decker... it is OK

lets make that hole!

i have almost muted the volume by obvious reasons!!!

It is almost centered... but it is OK

here is the center but again.. it is ok

but it is perfect... it is going to work!

I made the hole and extended using the drill machine....

a small hole just for the dimmer... it has another bold that will actually fix in the position and hold it

next step...

I made the hole here

and at the rear, i will make another hole for the cable... and I will try to make in the center this time

lets make that hole... for this, i will use another kind of drilling machine... bigger

the hole was not good enough... the tool is not OK.... as you can see... i dont know why the problem... but ok...

i will use my mini drill that I am more used to it... and make it right!

after the mess... now the hole is good enough to fit the cable

and it is done.... and look... without measuring, right in the middle!

next step, i have finish here

all the cables

and also the ground, that i will try to put it in here

and here is the dimmer.... that is already fixed

with a LOT of work, I finally fixed the ground here

I don't even know if it is necessary, but i am doing it anyways

and by luck, the cables I could mount it here, so will bit be free and messy inside as well

and everything is fixed and will not lose!

I will now mount the power plug just to check if it is working

and also align the magnets in the center

I putted in the pvc and glued

and it is important to move away the magnets from the cooler, because the cooler works with magnetism as well

everything is set

let's plug it in here

full power... and lowering...

looking good

i dont know if you guys can see, but I made these marks, 15mm from each other

all the sides

to make the small holes in order to put the heat away

and I made this hole just to see... and I will make the others

first part done

was not sooo align... but it works!

not it is to make the other ones!

after done all the holes, just use this larger drill to clean up the barbs!

and twist it

see... perfect!

all the holes are done

cool huh? Now all the air has space to get out

I made extra holes in the bottom, again, in order to the air recirculate

a small wooden drill, 1/2 inch

here... all drilled

Centralized

and now, at maximum

last update from this, before center the magnets and glue them, I have added those silicon stickers

and look... it kind that glues the glass on it!

it doesn't lose, and with the rubber feet, it can shake that will not fall

PLEASE, DONT USE HOT GLUE FOR IT!!!

Look what happened!!!!

HOLY SHIT!!!!

In this episode, we learned that we can't use hot glue in this!

as you could see, that shit happened and now I have glued with super glue!

and I have glued around one hour before...

and I made a test before, because it is good enough to show one error

so again, dont use hot glue for this

because the cooler heats up this part and heats the glue, loosing it...

this super glue don't!! Once is fixed, it is fixed for good!

so, let's do the test!

i don't believe it! When I am actually making the movie, the lid will not close!

the box has this pins, to close it but I will close after I finish all this

and I close and will not open again!

check if it is right about in the center.... and start!

small RPM for start

i am having a good control

As I said, it is a universal 300w dimmer, that i bought on a electrical store in Curitiba

it has started the vortex

increase a bit... to check

and now, at maximum speed!

easily steering 2 liters of water....

i believe that it can take it more than 2 liters... even with ferment + DME

and it is done, my DIY

the prices you will see showing on the screen

that is all folks! Thanks for watching!

How to Make a Picnic Table + Free Picnic Table Plans - Duration: 4:47.

Hey!

Welcome to Porter's Projects.

On this episode we are going to do "How to Make a Picnic Table".

This Picnic Table is going to have a burnt top on it, um you don't have to, but that

is what the customer requested on this project, so I hope you enjoy!

Hey, So I have free plans for this picnic table, if you want them just go ahead and

click the link in the description and enter your email and I will send you one over.

So, first thing we need to do is go ahead and mark out all of the pieces that are going

to go into it and cut them to length.

Also making sure you get all of your angles cut.

Now I got these all prepped.

I ran them through the planer a couple of times and then sand them.

uh I got them all cut to length, which is going to be eight feet even.

We are going to have a burnt top, uh then we are going to pre-drill holes for the screws

to go in.

After you cut and pre drilled all your holes then you will want to go ahead and route your

exposed edges.

The reason for that is that, it does a couple of things it make the corners safer for people,

so it's not as sharp.

The other reason why is it will decrease the amount of chipping if something does bump

into the edge.

To put together the legs, um, the legs consist of four pieces, you have your two uprights

and then your two cross pieces.

You will want to measure up from your foot or down from the top to where you want your

stringer, the piece your seat is going to be on to get it in the right spot.

after it is there, there is a couple of ways you could put it together.

One is you mark out the holes prior, which will take a little bit more effort, on all

the pieces and drill them.

A little quicker way is just clamp the pieces together and then drill a hole and put the

bolt in, um, that way you don't have to worry so much about exact measurements.

So to attach the table top and the benches to the rest of the frame, uh, I usually start

in the center for the table top, I usually start in the center and work my way out, uh

that way everything comes out even on both sides and for this table top we are actually

butting everything up tight instead of spacing them out.

um, you should have already pre marked and drilled the pilot holes that will line up

with your table support.

For the bench part you are actually going to start on the outside and work in.

Hey, so we have a little bit left to do on the table still.

Um, but if you want to see the finished product you can go find Porter's Projects either on

Facebook or on Instagram and I will have both the links in the description below.

Hey, so thanks for watching this episode on "How to make a picnic table" uh, if you liked

this video then go ahead and click the subscribe button and you can watch my next one.

If you want to see what I have Previously made click the link down here and watch my

last video.

If you would go ahead and click the like button on this video and I hope you will tune in

next time.

Baseball Joe of the Silver Stars | Chapter 23 - Duration: 6:56.

#21 NEW in EINDHOVEN - Duration: 5:01.

Hi

Thank you for watching vlog number 21

I don't know if it has something to do with the weather, but my vlog inspiration is a little gone

Yes, I don't know

In some way I keep forgetting my camera, or I don't know what to vlog about, well

If you know a subject for me to make a video about, which has news value for Eindhoven...

please let me know down below in the comment section

What is new in Eindhoven right now

I can't keep up with all the shit happening the whole time

What I did, I just stepped on my bike..

The weather is so great!

Today it is like 28 degrees celsius

I don't know about you but if I don't wear sunglasses I can't go outside at all

I just can't handle it, if I don't wear sunglasses I have a headache in notime

If you just cramp your face like this, you see, this makes me really ugly

Good sunglasses are really important

And now we have a cool new shop where to sell sunglasses and it is called ace & tate

I personally like the sunglasses a lot, you can also buy regular glasses there

You can find them in the city center opposite to Van Pierre or something

Since we are talking shops...

Another new shop, maybe you've seen it on my instagram already

So, now I have to pronouce it right, i'm not sure, but I think it is called 'Sostrene Grene'?!

Also in the city center, in the direction of Hema and Xenos

I don't know the actual name of the street, I keep forgetting which street is which in the center

I've been there three times already because..

they sell the very best paper wrapping for presents

What is new on the food department

Also a lot of stuff, some I didn't pay a visit today

where I didn't have the chance to see the inside but from what I've heard it is nice

At the Dommelstraat Vigo Gastrobar opened its doors

and I've heard from my collegue, Eindhoven fan, Eindhovensrondje...

..that Gastrobar Vigo is great for wining and snacking

Where I did go to is Underdog Cafe

This is located at the Kerkstraat

It opened last Wednesday

They sell hotdogs but it is also a bar

You can go there for drinks

Untill 4 AM on Fridays and Saturdays

And you can keep ordering hotdogs till late. AND it is also a sports bar

ooo, there something in my eye

And the last new thing. The return of Koffiehuisje

Koffiehuisje used to be next to Ketelhuis

Then there was a whole period of silence and now they returning next to the PSVstadium

For me koffiehuisje was always some sort of idyllic, and now they are returning, at the end of the summer

Just BAM, everything that is going on, all the new shit in Eindhoven

Short video

After 'Mad Men' Ended, Jon Hamm Knew He Didn't Want To Play Don Draper Again | TODAY - Duration: 7:27.

>>> WOULD YOU DRAW THE LINE AT

50%?

>> I'M NOT DRAWING A LINE AT

ALL.

PR PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THIS, BUT

THEY CAN NEVER EXECUTE IT.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT IS BEING

SAID, CHANGE THE CONVERSATION.

>>> THAT'S JON HAMM AS THE

BROODING DON DRAPER ON "MAD

MEN."

HAMM WAS STILL FINDING HIS WAY

IN HOLLYWOOD WHEN HE LANDED THE

PART THAT MADE HIM A HOUSEHOLD

NAME.

THE LAST EPISODE AIRED MORE THAN

TWO YEARS AGO.

HE BEGAN LIFE AFTER DRAPER.

THIS MONTH THAT LIFE INCLUDES A

NEW MOVIE CALLED "BABY DRIVER."

JON AND I GOT TOGETHER AT THE

RESTAURANT EMPLOYEES ONLY HERE

IN NEW YORK FOR A SUNDAY

SIT-DOWN.

>> GOOD MORNING, MR. DRAPER.

>> DON, I THINK MAYBE THAT'S

YOUR CUE.

>> YOU AUDITIONED FOR THIS SHOW,

NEW SHOW CALLED "MAD MEN."

THEY MUST HAVE HAD A MILLION

PEOPLE COME IN FOR THAT LEAD

PART.

>> WELL, THEY DID AND IT WAS AT

THIS WEIRD ADVERTISING AGENCY

PLACE, IT'S ME AND LIKE A

16-YEAR-OLD KID AND I WAS LIKE,

AM I IN THE RIGHT PLACE.

I WAS LIKE WHAT ARE YOU HERE

FOR?

HE WAS LIKE TOOTHPASTE AD.

I WAS LIKE OKAY.

I NEVER MET THE CASTING

DIRECTOR.

READ THROUGH THE THING AND

HALFWAY THROUGH SHE PUTS HER

PAPER DOWN AND STARTS LOOKING AT

ME.

I WAS LIKE WHAT'S GOING ON?

SHE WAS LIKE CAN YOU WAIT?

I WAS LIKE, YEAH.

>> FROM THAT MOMENT FORWARD JON

HAMM WAS DON DRAPER.

OVER SEVEN SEASONS HE WON TWO

GOLDEN GLOBES AND AN EMMY

PLAYING THE DARK, DRINKING,

SMOKING, WOMANIZER '60s ERA AD

EXECUTIVE.

>> YOU NEVER SAY THANK YOU.

>> THAT'S WHAT THE MONEY IS FOR.

>> WAS IT EVER HARD FOR YOU

INHABITING THAT GUY ALL THOSE

YEARS, THE DARKNESS THAT HE

CARRIED AROUND WITH HIM?

>> IT'S A DRAG, PRETENDING TO BE

SOMEBODY THAT'S SO BUMMED OUT

ALL THE TIME.

>> DID YOU HAVE A STRATEGY

COMING OUT OF "MAD MEN"?

>> I DEFINITELY DIDN'T HAVE A

STRATEGY.

THE ONLY THING I KIND OF KNEW I

DIDN'T WANT TO DO IS PLAY DON

DRAPER AGAIN.

YOU ALWAYS THINK I'M NEVER GOING

TO WORK AGAIN.

I MEAN, THAT'S REALLY WHAT IT

IS, FOR ME ANYWAY.

I'M JUST LIKE, WELL, I WILL

NEVER WORK AGAIN OR I WILL NEVER

WORK AT THAT LEVEL AGAIN.

>> YOU LIVE IN THAT FEAR?

>> I TRY NOT TO LIVE IN IT, BUT

IT'S ALWAYS THERE.

IT'S ALWAYS SNEAKING UP AROUND

THE CORNER.

>> THE 46-YEAR-OLD HAMM WAS BORN

AND RAISED IN ST. LOUIS,

MISSOURI, AND JON WAS ONLY TEN

YEARS OLD WHEN HIS MOTHER DIED

OF CANCER.

TEN YEARS AFTER THAT HE LOST HIS

DAD.

>> WHAT DID THAT DO TO A

TEN-YEAR-OLD KID?

>> THERE'S NEVER A GOOD TIME TO

LOSE YOUR MOM AND DAD, BUT IT

HAPPENS.

IT'S OBVIOUSLY DIFFERENT FOR A

KID BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT MATURE

ENOUGH TO EVEN PROCESS IT AND

YOU END UP HAVING A REAL VOID AS

A KID.

SO THE VOID HAS TO BE FILLED IN

ONE WAY OR ANOTHER AND I HAD

THESE GREAT FAMILIES WHO JUST

KIND OF QUASI ADOPTED ME.

IT WASN'T THE CASE THAT I WAS

LEGITIMATELY ADOPTED, I MEAN, I

WAS JUST AROUND A LOT BECAUSE WE

WERE ALL 13-YEAR-OLD BOYS THAT

WOULD HANG OUT ALL THE TIME.

YOU KNOW, IT'S HARD.

IT NEVER GOES AWAY, YOU KNOW,

YOU JUST -- IT'S SOMETHING THAT

YOU THINK ABOUT KIND OF ALL THE

TIME.

>> STILL?

>> YEAH.

BUT NOT ADDS MUCH, BUT YEAH.

IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE

MY PARENTS LIKE SEE THAT I

BECAME SUCCESSFUL IN THE THING I

CHOSE TO DO.

THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE.

BUT, YOU KNOW, WE DON'T ALWAYS

GET WHAT WE WANT.

>> HAMM BEGAN ACTING IN HIGH

SCHOOL, PLAYING JUDAS IN GOD

SPELL, WHILE HE PLAYED

LINEBACKER ON THE FOOTBALL

FIELD.

AFTER GRADUATING FROM THE

UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI HAMM

RETURNED TO HIS HIGH SCHOOL IN

ST. LOUIS TO TEACH ACTING.

>> OSCAR, I AM SO GLAD YOU JUST

GOT HERE.

>> ONE OF HIS STUDENTS WAS A

YOUNG ELIE KEMPER WHO WENT ON TO

BECOME A STAR OF HER OWN.

AFTER TWO YEARS BACK HOME HAMM

MOVED TO LOS ANGELES WITH NEXT

TO NOTHING TO TAKE HIS SHOT AT

PROFESSIONAL ACTING.

>> WHEN YOU CAME TO LOS ANGELES

AND YOU GAVE YOURSELF A

DEADLINE, RIGHT, TO THE AGE OF

30.

>> UH-HUH.

>> I BETTER BE A WORKING ACTOR

OR I'M OUT OF HERE.

>> I GAVE MYSELF FIVE YEARS.

I THOUGHT, YOU KNOW, FIVE YEARS

IS ENOUGH TO GET A DEGREE OR BE

A PRESIDENT.

>> SO YOU WERE WAITING TABLES.

>> WAITING TABLES, BARTENDING

AND MY FRIEND GOES, LOOK, I'VE

GOT TO QUIT THIS JOB, I'M A SET

DRESSER ON THESE CHEESY

SKIN-O-MAX MOVIES.

I CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE, IT'S

GROSS.

AND I WAS LIKE, I'LL DO IT.

WHAT DOES IT PAY?

ANYTHING?

I'LL DO IT.

AND I'M LIKE SLIGHT PROBLEM,

I'VE NEVER BEEN A SET DRESSER, I

DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS.

100 BUCKS A DAY.

100 BUCKS A DAY?

I WAS LIKE IN.

IT WAS KIND OF LIKE THAT WEIRD

KIND OF, YOU KNOW -- BUT IT

WAS -- IT WAS PORN.

IT WAS BAD.

AND I DID IT FOR LIKE THREE

WEEKS AND I WAS LIKE, YEAH, THIS

IS DEPRESSING.

>> THE JOBS ONLY COULD GET

BETTER FROM THERE.

AFTER A RUN OF PLAYING EXTRAS

HAMM LANDED A REGULAR ROLE ON

THE NBC SHOW "PROVIDENCE."

THEN IN HIS FIRST BIG MOVIE HE

STARRED WITH MEL GIBSON.

>> I ENDED UP TURNING 30 ON THE

SET OF THE FIRST MOVIE THAT I

EVER DID WHICH WAS CALLED "WE

WERE SOLDIERS."

THAT WAS MY DEADLINE.

I SET A GOAL AND I ACHIEVED IT

AND THAT'S PRETTY ENOUGH TO DO.

>> HAMM DOES FUNNY AS WELL AS HE

DOES DRAMA.

HE HAS HOSTED "SATURDAY NIGHT

LIVE" THREE TIMES.

>> IT'S GENUINE MEXICAN SILVER

AND IT COMES WITH A CLASP AND A

RING AND A --

>> AND HAD MEMORABLE ROLES IN

THE MOVIE "BRIDESMAIDS".

>> THIS IS SO AWKWARD.

>> AND TV SHOWS "30 ROCK" AND

"UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT"

ALONGSIDE HIS FORMER STUDENT,

ELIE KEMPER.

>> YOU ARE NOT BAD AT MATH, SIR,

YOU ARE JUST BAD.

>> HAMM'S LEADING MAN LOOKS AND

FAMILIAR VOICE MAKE HIM A SOUGHT

AFTER NAME IN ADS LIKE THE ONES

DON DRAPER MIGHT HAVE DESIGNED.

>> THIS IS THE AUTOMOBILE AS

ONLY MERCEDES BENZ COULD

ENVISION IT.

>> HAMM'S LATEST POST "MAD MEN"

ROLE IS ANOTHER CHARACTER WITH

AN EDGE.

IN THE NEW MOVIE "BABY DRIVER"

HAMM PLAYS BUDDY, ACCOMPLICE TO

Summer TBR! ~ 2017 - Duration: 7:23.

Hi guys, today I thought I'd do my Summer TBR. And initially I hadn't

wanted to do any kind of TBR for the summer because this summer I kind of

just want to read whatever I feel like reading when the time comes. My top

priority for the summer is to just get out of this perpetual reading slump I've

been in over the past couple of months. But having said that, I have come

to realise that having absolutely zero TBR, isn't necessarily the best idea for

someone that also has absolutely zero decision-making skills, when it comes to

deciding what books they want to read. And also at the moment, has zero

motivation to pick out any book to read because I'm pretty certain this summer

if I don't have any kind of TBR, I'm going to end up spending more time

deciding what to read, than actually reading. So I thought I would just whittle

down my TBR a little bit, so that if I can't decide what to read I can turn to

that, rather than the overwhelming TBR that is on my shelf and also a lot of

these books are on the top of my priority to get to anyway. So it just kind of

cuts out a little bit of that awful decision-making that I can't do,

especially when in a reading slump. So today I just thought I would go through

the ones that I have picked out and the ones that

I'm hoping I maybe, possibly may read this summer.

Whether I will, who knows but I'm going to try.

I'm going to see if I can do it.

The first three books I have are all written by authors that are attending YALC this year.

And YALC is kind of the UK's very small scale version of the US's BEA

and BookCon and the first book I have is 'Vicious' by V.E. Schwab and I've wanted to

read one of her books for such a long time. She was at YALC last year and she

just seemed like the loveliest person and I have heard the most wonderful

things about her books. And I don't actually really know what this is about.

I have a feeling it's kind of about villainous superheroes and I may be way off with that.

For some reason I have that in my head I don't know why.

But I'm kind of trying to not learn too much about the books that I have on my TBR

because I've realised that I enjoy books a lot more when I don't really know

what I'm getting myself into. So I've heard fantastic things about this and I really

want to read it and I'm very much hoping that I will before YALC because as I

said, I've heard great things about it and she just seemed like the loveliest

human being. So I very much want to read some of the books.

Next I have 'Code Name Verity' by Elizabeth Wein and I actually bought

this at YALC last year. So I've had this a year, so it's probably about time

that I read it but again I don't know too much about it. But it's a historical

fiction set in 1943 and I've heard that it has amazingly strong female protagonists in it.

And I have a feeling it's about spies or something.

Again, I may be completely making that up.

I love historical fiction but it's a

genre I just do not read enough of, so I want to pick this up because I mean, I

got it at YALC last year, the author's attending this year.

So it kind of just makes sense for me to finally get around to reading it.

And the last book that I have that want to read for YALC, is another kind of historical fiction but it is set in

an alternate history and that's 'Wolf by Wolf' by Ryan Graudin. Basically all I

know about it, is that it is set in an alternate history where the Nazis won the war.

And that is all I know but I've heard so many fantastic things about it

and it's been on my TBR for such a long time and I've been wanting to get to it

for such a long time. So I now finally have the push to do that, since the

author is attending YALC. So I very, very much would like to pick this up

during the summer because it sounds incredibly intriguing and unlike

anything I've read before. I then have 'You Know Me Well' by David Levithan and

Nina Lacour and I am pretty certain that this was

all my TBR for last summer and I didn't get around to reading it last summer and

apparently, I didn't get around to reading it at all for the rest of the year.

So I would definitely really like to get to it this summer because it just

seems about time. But I don't really know too much about this, other than it

follows two people that meet during Pride and I think it essentially just

follows their friendship and it just sounds so lovely. I've heard really

lovely things about it and I just want to read cute, adorable, fluffy

contemporaries during the summer and I'm hoping that is what this is.

And also I haven't read many books that follow a platonic friendship, so I'm looking forward to that.

So yeah, I would definitely really like to get to this.

I then have another potentially, hopefully fluffy, cute contemporary and that is

'We'll Always Have Summer' by Jenny Han. This is the third and final book in

'The Summer I Turned Pretty' trilogy and I've read the first two books the past two summers

and I kind of just want to conclude the trilogy this summer. And I've enjoyed the

past two books, they're cute, they're fluffy. Kind of the epitome of a summer contemporary.

So I'm excited to see how this trilogy ends, as I think I preferred the second book

to the first book. So I'm intrigued to see how I will like the third book.

And the final contemporary that I have on my TBR is 'When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon.

I've only been hearing so many fantastic things about this recently and

this basically follows two Indian American teens whose parents are putting

them into an arranged marriage and one of them is super excited about it,

the other one not quite so much. And then they both end up I think at a tech camp

during the summer and it kind of follows their relationship and that is all I

know but it just sounds so lovely. I've heard that it's meant to be really

light-hearted and really funny and just a happy read and that is

what I want to read during the summer. I want to read light-hearted, funny

happiness and this cover already makes me feel so happy. There's something about

it there's just so lovely. So I'm very much looking forward to this and I

definitely, definitely want to read this during the summer because it just sounds

adorable and like exactly what I want to read this summer.

I then have the only book on my TBR that I'm categorically telling myself that I have to read this

summer and that is 'Pride and Prejudice' by Jane Austen because I think I

mentioned in my haul when I hauled this, I've not read 'Pride and Prejudice'.

I'm not even watch the TV show or the movie. I'm essentially one of the very

few people left on this planet, that honestly doesn't really know at all what

'Pride and Prejudice' is about. Other than at some point in the TV show Colin Firth

get out of the lake in a wet white shirt. That is kind of the extent of my

'Pride and Prejudice' knowledge and I just can't let this carry on. I'm going to say I

have to read this before my birthday. My birthday is on September 16th and I'm

not going to reach my birthday without having read 'Pride and Prejudice'.

It's got to happen. It has to happen and the fact that this is such gorgeous edition, kind of does help.

So I'm looking forward to finally, hopefully, definitely finding out

what 'Pride and Prejudice' is about. Lastly on my summer TBR, if I somehow

miraculously manage to get out of my reading slump and become this kind of

reading machine. I would quite like to maybe start and

finish a trilogy. Will that happen? No. No it won't. There's no way that I'm

going to manage to get through an entire trilogy this summer. It's just not going to happen.

I'm setting myself up for disappointment but I'm you know being

positive, being optimistic. I'll see how it goes. It's not, I don't know but the

trilogies is that I have to choose from are firstly the 'Legend' trilogy by Marie Lu.

The 'Angelfall' trilogy by Susan EE and then also 'The Young Elites' trilogy by Marie Lu.

And I don't really know anything about any of them. I have no idea what

'The Young Elites' is about. This I think is a dystopian but that is all I know and this

I am assuming as angels in it. Does it? Who knows but I'm assuming it does.

But if you have read any of these trilogies I would absolutely love to know which

one you think I should read because I will not be able to make that kind of

decision and also as I said, I just don't really know too much about them so I

don't even know where to start to making that decision.

So that is it for my kind of non TBR, summer TBR. Essentially what

this is is just a bunch of books that I may or may not read this summer. But I'd love to

know if you have read any of them and what you thought of them and also I'd really

love know which books are on the top your TBR to get to this summer. And lastly if

you have any kind of super fluffy, cute summer contemporary recommendations I

would very, very much appreciate them. Because that is kind of what I want to

read during the summer and my TBR is running very low on them. So I would

really appreciate any recommendations for that you may have and yeah that is

basically it. I will leave links to my Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Goodreads, Blog and

Snapchat in the description box below. So feel free to follow me on any of those if you

would like and I hope you have an amazing start to the summer and if you

are doing exams right now, I hope they're going well and I just hope you're

having a really, really lovely day. Bye!

Laura Branigan - "Nightwatch" Interview [cc] (1983) - Duration: 8:50.

These are glory days for Laura Branigan

'Gloria' is one of the biggest songs of the year and that makes Laura Branigan one of the big pop singing stars of the year

We're going to be talking with her but, first let's see what that song 'Gloria' is all about

Gloria

You're always on the run now

Runnin' after somebody

You got to get him some how

I think you've got to slow down

Before you start to blow it

I think you're headed for a breakdown

So be careful not to show it

You really don't remember?

Was it something that he said?

Are the voices in your head calling, Gloria?

Welcome to Nightwatch, Laura Branigan

Thank you

It's hard to listen to any pop radio station nowadays and not hear that song

But, I have to tell you I have listened to it a zillion times and never really paid that much attention to the lyrics

I just heard Gloria over and over and over again

What- there's a history to that and the reason that we're hearing those lyrics and not the original ones

What's that story?

Well, you know the song originally was an Italian song

And, was originally a love song

And, a big hit in Europe about four years ago by Umberto Tozzi

We took the song and just- You know I couldn't-

I wasn't going to sing a love song to a girl

'Cuz I don't think-

Wouldn't go over too well, huh

And, so I sat with the writer, Trevor Veitch, who was going to write the lyrics

And, you know, I had known people that have gone through what Gloria has gone through

And that is what happens, I think there's so many people's they get in the fast lane

And they really lose track of what they are about

They lose the essence of themselves

And, they're so concerned with keeping up and chasing other people down

And trying to get, sort of, that false build up for themselves

And so what I'm doing, in the song 'Gloria', is telling her, 'Gloria, you better slow down, honey

'Cuz-

You know in the business now, that you've chosen for yourself, the music business, the record industry

many folks find themselves, just unavoidably attracted to the fast lane

They think there's no way for them not to be in the fast lane

You're out there, you're moving around, everybody knows you, you're making big bucks, etc.

Why is that, and how are you going to avoid that yourself?

This is your first song

This is your debut single and already you're up there in superstardom

For the moment

Yeah, for the moment

I think it really comes down to having a sense of yourself

I think so many artists, it's attractive yes and it's-

and it's glamorous, but it's glamorous from the outside, from the inside it's really a lot of hard work

I find that people say, 'how does it feel to be a star'

I feel just like I always felt, only I'm working a lot harder

I think that what happens with the artists is that they lose track

They don't have an essence of themselves before they go into the industry

So of that all the- their whole identity is based upon

the gratification and the acceptance that they are getting by the audience, you know from the audience

And their whole sense of themselves is based upon that, and it's never going to be constant

So that's why they're

You're up and down

Let's take a break and come back and talk some more about how you're planning to keep yourself centered

Okay

Even though you've taken on this big, big new career

Laure Branigan's 'Gloria' has been on Billboard Magazine's top 100 chart for more than 26 weeks

We're talking this morning with Laura Branigan

Laura, you're married and you're married to a corporate lawyer that's a pretty stable job for him

Is that gonna help her hurt you and what is the very unstable business that you're in?

Help

I- besides falling in love I, you know, I thought about that before I got married

I think it's important that people take marriage seriously and then go into it

and realize that you have to also think of the practical side, as well as the emotional side

It's very important for me to have someone outside the business so that-

And I think that's another problem that a lot of artists have, is they get it just, just too close

It's just hard enough as it is

It's good to have someone outside the business so that you can enjoy other parts of life

besides the music industry or whether this crazy business that we're in

So that's gonna help you with your balance, too

Yeah

You know there was a time when we- there were a lot of female superstar singers

And, we, you know, we're never without wonderful female singers, but-

the day of, you know, Billie Holiday, Julie London and all, those kinds of days seems to have passed

What happened and do you think we're gonna get back to that

I certainly hope so I'm trying, I'm trying to bring it back

You want to be one of them

Yeah, I really- Billie Holiday was one of my idols

Edith Piaf

I feel that, somewhere along the way

the emotion went out the window a little bit

And, I feel- It's hard to say, you know history repeats itself

You don't know why something goes away, but it does

I think it's time for it to come back

I feel it

And then just in society today, how people are-

As much as the country is going astray, and all the superficiality, people are trying to get back to what's real

I really feel there's an effort being made, on the countries half

And, you know, and I think music is always a reflection of what is going on in society

And, I think that- I think it's coming back

Coming back, it's good news

You say you want to be a superstar

You've had a bunch of luck, and some good breaks

I hear you are at the top of the charts

You were discovered by the founder of Atlantic Records, Ahmet Ertegun

And, he just signed you right up, I mean, I mean instant- instant contract

And, then your debut single is instantly number one

And, you talk about staying centered and staying in the real world

That's not really real for most artists

How has that affected your view of what this business is really about

Well it did- it sounds very simple it didn't happen, you know-

It wasn't THAT easy

I was working real hard before I met Ahmet

Ahmet- he's a very special music man

He thinks you're very special to, obviously

I'm very honored to be with him

He did sign me up right away, after one song

Very unusual

I almost fell on the ground, I was like-

(giddy)

Yeah, exactly

And, he said it- Sure I got the right girl?

I, you know, it's just- I remember the cab ride home that night, but-

I mean, that's not really how it how it goes, it as a rule

As a rule, no, but it did happen to me

And, we tried, we worked on a lot of material before finding 'Gloria'

You know, we worked real hard at finding the right material

Ahmet worked with me, Doug Morris, the president worked with me

We- it wasn't that easy, you know, we searched around for a while before- And then-

Still rough, but it, it couldn't hurt

You don't have- You can't have some of the complaints that a lot of new artists have

No

No promotion, no support

I get it

I mean the head of the company is signing your name

He sure is

One problem you are going to have is follow-through

A one-hit star can be gone-

That's right

as far in today's music world

I ain't gonna let that happen, no

Are you worried about that?

I was thinking about it before I cut- I just cut my new album, but I think we got it

You think you may have some follow-through

Well, Laura, thank you, much good luck to you in your quest

And, we'll be listening

Thank you

Okay, Laura Branigan

Nice to meet you

Xiaomi Mi 6 India Launch on July 23? Oneplus 5 vs Xiaomi Mi 6 : Battle of Affordable Flagships - Duration: 3:46.

How Xiaomi Mi 6 compares against Oneplus 5 and when is Mi 6 India Launch?

Xiaomi Mi 6 India Launch on July 23?

Oneplus 5 vs Xiaomi Mi 6 : Battle of Affordable Flagships

How about a comparisom beetween Oneplus 5 and Xiaomi Mi 6 : Battle of latest Flagship

killers

Xiaomi MI 6, The Oneplus 5 Competitor, Hitting India in July; Price, Specs, Launch Date & More

Flagship and Affordable are two words, not often heard together.

But, Xiaomi has made it possible once again, at least we hope so.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 is less expected to be priced less than half compared to the other

flagships Galaxy S8, LG G6, Sony Xperia XZ Premium or HTC U11.

Most importantly, it will be significantly cheaper than Oneplus

5 as well, which will be launching in next 10 days!

And MI 6 boasts of the same specs as the flagships mentioned above.

The Best Looking Phone from Xiaomi?

The Xiaomi Mi 6 is a mix of the Mi5 and Mi5s.

Mi 6 shares a glass body on both front and back with a metal frame in between.

When you hold the handset, Mi 6 feels like a sleek shiny surface, designed the right

way (dont mistake it for the iPhone 7 Jet Black).

The glass-metal is well polished, so it doesnt slip out, and feels ultra premium.

Display and Size (No Quad HD this time) The Mi 6 clocks in a smaller 5.15-inch screen

where the todays world is glitched to the 5.5-inch screens, might look a little odd,

but the size suits in perfect.

It slim, smooth and with the perfectly chamfered edges, it is comfortable and easy-to-be-used

by one hand.

The Mi 6 didnt get the Quad HD update, but the Full HD 19201080 resolution (with

the density 428 ppi) is more than decent.

The display is vibrant with fantastic contrast, right amounts of colours and great viewing

angles.

With a 3350 mAh battery the Full HD Display can help the battery to

drain slow compared to a Quad HD (a Big Plus).

Slash Proof (Not Waterproof!)

Something you might not have seen in any of the devices before coming from the Chinese

Giant Xiaomi.

Mi 6 can spare splashes but hasnt got IP68 waterproofing.

NO Headphone Jack / Stereo Speakers

I dont know, what has gone wrong with the smartphone makers around the world.

Apple does it, so now everyone needs to follow the trend.

Xiaomi is the latest manufacturer to join the drop-the-headphone-jack bandwagon.

As Apple gave a headphone USB C Headphone adaptor in

the box, Xiaomi is doing it too (They are called Chinas Apple for a reason).

If you are done with the headphone, the built-in audio

isnt that bad.

Actually, the output is well above average.

Thanks to the pair of stereo speakers, its loud and clear enough.

Enhanced Performance (Beats Samsung Galaxy S8) With the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon

835 and 6GB of RAM, it will face direct competition from the upcoming OnePlus 5, which

too is rumoured to have the same specs.

But, Mi 6 fared extraordinarily well compared to other flagships.

On the Geekbench 4 benchmark test, the device scored 6472 points in the multi-core test

and 1940 points in the single core test.

Mi 6 notched up a mammoth 170,709 points in the AnTuTu benchmark test.

The Camera.

Mi 6 stocks in two 12 MP cameras on the back, one with the wide angle f/1.8 lens and the

other camera has got a telephoto lens with f/2.6 aperture.

With options of 10x digital zoom, 2x optical zoom and four axis OIS, the rear camera has

PDAF and can shoot videos in 4K.

The images come out crisp and punchy and are well exposed with right amounts of colours

and details.

The front has got a 8MP shooter and captures decent clicks.

Latest MiUI 8.2, but NO Android Nougat out-of-the-box.

The Mi 6 will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow (the worst part), though you will

get the Nougat and Android O updates soon (expected within the next few months).

With some minor changes in the app tray and Settings

menu, things remain almost the same.

Though the multitasking has improved with enhanced RAM management.

India Launch Date.

We are pretty confident it is 23rd July.

Mis India head hinted at that date as well in one of his tweets.

Given that MI 6 is the only phone that is to be launched in India, we are pretty confident

of this launch date.

The Stellar Price Xiaomi has crammed Mi 6 with the best of technology

and brought it at a very reasonable price which made it so popular and is a

definite winner among the top flagships.

If the Chinese prices are anything to go by, the MI 6 will be priced between INR 23,000

to INR 26000, which is far less than even Oneplus 5, which is expected to be around

Rs. 35,000+

So, if you are looking at OnePlus 5, I think it will be better if you can wait for MI 6

launch and then make your decision.

How to Train Your Dog to Leave It | Dog Training | CBC Life - Duration: 1:34.

Hi I'm Danielle Hodges with Follow the Leader dog training

And I'm here with Jazzy this fabulous little girl

And we're going to work on 'off' or 'leave it' this cue is really, really super important

because it's an excellent safety command

if there's something on the ground that you don't want them to pick up

and you want them to stay away

Ok, so the first step with teaching an 'off' or a 'leave it' is you wanna teach the dog

that in order to get what they want

they have to back away, from the desired object

Okay, so opened hand

as soon as she backs away from the treats in my open hand

Yes!

Take it

I'm going to give her a treat

If she goes for the treats in my hand

Yes, take it

I'm going to close my hand

And once she's really staying away then you try it one more time

And this time I'm going to use a cue

Leave it

Yes

Take it

So you want to proof this behaviour in all different locations

Practice on your couch, on your floor, everywhere that you think your dog might go for something,

that you don't want them to have

So there you have it, that's how you teach 'leave it' from beginning to end

Just make sure you practice in all different situations in life, it's a really important

one to teach for your dog's safety

and it's not something that you want to leave out

See you on the next video!

Come on Jazzy girl

Let's go!

Boston Market® | Oven-Crisp Chicken Strips Review! 🐔🍽️ - Duration: 4:35.

YouTube and social media peep this out guys it's Ian K back again with another one for

you here at Boston Market for the first time on my channel to take a look at

their take at one of my favorite types of fun foods and considering how this

one's being prepared right now it actually looks to be a little bit better

for you health-wise and I only say that because these new oven crisp chicken

strips are actually baked instead of fried so that already scores points

right out the gate but aside from that there's actually something very

different about them that got me interested to check them out and I'm

definitely going to show you what that is but like always before I take that

first bite of these all new oven crisp chicken strips and give you my thoughts

like I always do let's get right up on them first for that closer look let's

peep this out

all natural all rotisserie all good it's Boston markets latest their oven crisp

chicken strips 100% white meat chicken hand breaded in panko breadcrumb

goodness and then baked up to a nice crispy golden-brown very fantastic on

this coating guys the presentation definitely looks pretty tasty

with plenty of that seasoned panko bread crumb goodness as you can see they're

looking very nice we've got a 3 piece order here with a little side of

ranch just want to keep it traditional but it definitely looks fantastic and

very excited to give this a go it's the all-new oven crisp chicken strips here

at Boston Market let's peep out this flavor oven crisp because baked is just

better Boston Market yep I'm already a fan of his new panko

breading on these oven crisp chicken strips it's got a very nice coating

they're not overly thick pieces of white meat chicken but they definitely smell

fantastic they look pretty tasty with that light browning around the edges

there it almost looks pan-fried let's give it a go it's the all-new oven crisp

chicken strips here at Boston Market hmm it already tastes healthy pretty good

I'm already tasting a nice quality of the white meat chicken that they use

here Boston Market guys it's nice and juicy the outer panko breading that's on

these chicken strips is also very tasty not overly greasy it's got a very nice

flow to it mmm I only say flow because the coating goes so nicely with the

juiciness of the chicken itself that's really good

and as you can see it's a nice cut of white meat that they use for these

chicken strips with that light coating on the outside it's a very nice even mix

of just tasty goodness along with the juiciness that you would expect to have

with something like this especially with white meat not being super juicy in

general this actually does a really nice job of keeping that moisture in and the

panko breadcrumbs really add a nice flavor not very spicy at all but very

very tasty all right let's dip in with a little bit

of ranch here one of my favorite dipping sauces to use with chicken strips aside

from honey mustard they're very nice and creamy on the version here at Boston

Market let's give it a shot and see how it is mmm the light creamy tang yesir

ranch and panko breadcrumbs definitely go nicely together and while I did see a

habanero and a barbecue type of sauce on the menu as well they offered me pretty

much ranch and honey mustard when they asked me initially I really wanted to

keep a traditional like I said and go with what my favorite is and ranch

absolutely is very glad I did because the tang of this goes so nicely

with the breadcrumbs and a nice juiciness of the white meat good choice

I think all around another quick shot up close give you a nice cross-section

shot of that white meat once again guys like I said what it does like an overall

thickness it does make up for with very nice flavor on top of a light coating of

those panko breadcrumbs that has almost a pan-fried feel to it even though it is

baked so it's definitely not greasy and very flavorful still so what do you guys

think of these new chicken strips is that panko coating do it for you because

if it does you've got a few different versions of it to enjoy here at Boston

Market namely in sandwiches and in bowls so there's bound to be a version here

you might want to try but let me know what you think and drop those comments

down below and as for the overall score on these all new oven crisp chicken

strips here at Boston Market they're gonna get a very solid

8.5 out of 10 the price is just a little up there for what you get but you do get

some very nice flavorful chicken tenders that are actually made a little bit

better for you being that they're baked and not fried and that's definitely not

a bad thing to break the chain of what we always see from the other guys every

single month I'd definitely get these again and that's it for this episode of

peep this out guys as you know I've got content every week here on my channel so

while you stay tuned for that next review coming real soon in the meantime

stay frosty you know I really enjoyed reviewing those panko onion rings from

jack-in-the-box a few months back which I'll link to in the upper right hand

corner of her display right now so something was telling me I was actually

gonna really enjoy these anyway and guys how could I not I mean juicy white meat

chicken with a light coating of the panko goodness guys it's all good just

like their bag says and that's no joke alright guys until next time I'll talk

to you soon

Rich People Are Now Buying Blood Transfusions From Teenagers - Duration: 7:28.

THERE IS A START-UP IN SILICONE

VALLEY OFFERING $8000 BLOOD

TRANSFUSIONS FROM TEENAGERS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE ATTEMPTING TO

FIGHT DISEASES ASSOCIATED WITH AGING.

THE NAME OF THE GROUP IS

AMBROSIA, WHICH SOUNDS DELICIOUS.

AMBROSIA IS LIKE A SALAD RIGHT?

>> IS WITH THE GODS WOULD FEAST ON IN GREEK MYTHOLOGY, NECTAR

AND AMBROSIA.

>> I WAS GOING TO SAY IT SOUNDS LIKE A DEVIOUS ORGANIZATION THAT

WOULD BE PAYING FOR THE BLOOD OF TEENAGERS.

BLOOD SACRIFICE

RITUALS.

AND A LOT OF ANIMAL MASKS.

>>MOST OF THE CLIENTS HAVE BEEN OF RETIREMENT AGE.

THEY DON'T

PROMISE TO STOP THE SIGNS OF AGING.

BUT WHAT THEY WANT TO DO

IS DIG DEEPER INTO WHETHER OR NOT THESE BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS CAN

HELP FIGHT DISEASES ASSOCIATED WITH AGING.

THAT IS MY ISSUE, IF

PEOPLE ARE DONATING BLOOD THEY

ARE DOING SO TO SAVE LIVES.

IN THIS CASE THEY MIGHT FIND THAT

THIS COULD PREVENT DISEASES AND SAVE LIVES, BUT AT THE MOMENT

THE SCIENCE IS NOT THERE.

I DO WORRY IT IS A LITTLE BIT OF A

MISUSE OF RESOURCES.

>>SPEAK FOR YOURSELF.

>>THEY ARE MAKING FUN OF PETER THIEL WHO HAS TALKED ABOUT THIS

PUBLICLY.

IS SO FUNNY TO ME THAT AMBROSIA HAD TO MAKE A STATEMENT

SAYING THAT THEY CAN NEITHER CONFIRM NOR DENY WHETHER OR NOT

PETER THIEL IS A CUSTOMER.

WHAT IS FUNNY TO ME IS THAT THIS HIGH

SCHOOL TEENAGER IS NOT GETTING THE ADVANTAGES, BUT DONATING HIS

BLOOD THINKING THIS WILL SAVE

LIVES.

IS HE GOING TO LAUNCH AN ATTACK AT US?

>> IF THEY WEREN'T USING PRECIOUS RESOURCES AND THEY WERE

OPEN AND HONEST, THEN I WOULD TRY IT.

>>YOU WOULD TRY GETTING YOUNGBLOOD?

>>100%.

IT COULDN'T HURT.

>>THE REASONS OR IS IT COULD.

BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS ARE NOT EASY, THERE IS RISK INVOLVED?

>>YOU CAN GET ALLERGIES AND FLAREUPS, OR EVEN DIE.

>>YES.

SOMETIMES THEY JUST GIVE THE WRONG BLOOD.

>> I DON'T THINK IT EXCEEDS PLACEBO.

BASICALLY YOU HAVE

PEOPLE WILLING TO SPEND $8000

FOR A CURE, AND THEY ANECDOTALLY SAID THEY FEEL BETTER AFTER.

>>HOW ARE THEY ACQUIRING THE BLOOD FROM THE BLOOD BANKS IS

THE REAL QUESTION.

>>THEY BUY IT.

>> I'M CERTAIN, AT LEAST IN TURKEY, IF YOU ARE UNDERGOING

THIS INTENSE PROCEDURE ñ MY FATHER WENT UNDER ONE WHERE IT

REQUIRED A LOT OF LITERS OF

BLOOD ñ HE HAD TO THEN GET OTHER PEOPLE TO DONATE BLOOD OF

SIMILAR VOLUME BEFORE HE COULD

UNDERGO THIS PROCEDURE.

BLOOD IS A VERY SCARCE RESOURCE.

IT IS

CRAZY TO ME THAT YOU CAN JUST ñ BUY IT.

>> I SHOULD CHARGE A PREMIUM FOR, IF I AM 22.

THEY ARE COMING

TO ME FOR MY KIND OF BLOOD BECAUSE IT IS VALUABLE FOR THESE

PEOPLE.

>>THEY WANT TEENAGERS VOTE.

>> I WOULD WANT TO GET PAID MORE FOR IT BECAUSE IT IS A HIGHER

VALUE COMMODITY THAN THE BLOOD

OF AN OLDER PERSON.

>> ARE THEY JUST A MEDIATOR OR DO THEY TAKE A 10% COMMISSION?

>> THEY SHOULD HAVE A HARVEST OF DONORS.

>> I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED IF THERE WAS MORE TRANSPARENCY.

>>HAVING SAID ALL OF THIS THERE IS ONE THING I DO ñ THEY DON'T

TREAT OLD AGE IS A DISEASE.

I LIKE THAT THIS COMPANY HAS A

DIFFERENT OUTLOOK ON IT.

THERE ARE STEM CELL TREATMENTS THAT

OFFSET THE EFFECTS OF AGING AND WEAR AND TEAR THERE BEING

ADVANCED ALL THE TIME.

>> IF IT DOESN'T HURT PEOPLE'S LIVES-

>>PEOPLE

TAKE PART IN PHARMACEUTICAL TESTING

AND STUFF.

>> I WAS CONFUSED AS TO WHY THIS WAS LEGAL IN THE FIRST PLACE.

>>IT SEEMS SUPER CREEPY IF THEY DO GET IT FROM BLOOD BANKS.

IT

REALLY CREEPS ME OUT THE IDEA THAT YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE BLOOD

FROM PEOPLE AND PUT IN YOUR

BODY.

AND LITERALLY IT IS NOT PROVEN TO BE A GOOD REASON FOR IT.

>>PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO TRY ANYTHING, SO IT IS WHAT IT IS

THAT IS PEOPLE WITH MONEY.

How To Create macOS High Sierra USB Boot Disk - Duration: 2:38.

Hi I'm Serge Siou and welcome to macStudioA.

In this episode, How To Create a macOS High Sierra USB Boot Disk.

Straight to the Demo.

Soooooooo, Let's Get Started.

Let's First Begin With The Prep Work:

1.

You're logged in with an Admin account on your Mac and running one of the following

macOS.

2.

You have at least an 8 GB blank USB 2.0 or 3.0 Disk.

3.

Have a copy of macOS High Sierra Installer and that it's located in the Applications

folder.

macOS High Sierra Developer Preview Beta, is available for download from Apple's Developer

Program by buying an annual membership.

A free Public Beta Preview will be available for download via.

Apple's Public Beta Program later this month.

And when officially released this fall, macOS High Sierra, will be available from the Mac

App Store as a free download on all systems that supports Sierra.

4.

Open TextEdit and make document as plain text.

5.

Copy and paste the following one line Terminal command, which I've included in the description

of this video, in the text document:

Now, with all the prep work taken care of, let's begin creating the USB Boot Disk.

Insert your USB Disk in an available socket and note the name.

In my case, the name of the USB is "USB1".

From the text document created earlier, replace "NameOfUSBDisk" with the name of your

USB Disk.

Final Steps: Open Terminal and copy and paste the one line Terminal command from the text

document, followed by carriage return.

You'll then be asked to enter your Admin Password and after pressing carriage return,

the creation of macOS High Sierra USB Boot Disk Installer will begin.

I'll just time-lapse the process from here.

In My Case: Using a USB 3.0 disk, it just took under 2 minutes to complete.

And for a USB 2.0 disk, it took just over 30 minutes to complete.

And that's all there is to it.

Thanks for watching and thumbs-up if you liked this video, and please, don't forget to click

that subscribe button to be notified of the next episode.

Thanks and Peace.

Vanze - Survive (feat. Neon Dreams) // NCS Lyrics #EpicBeatsMusic

Told you to walk away

That was my first and last mistake

I'm blew without your faith

Oh what can I do

Cause I'm just a sinking ship

And you're just a pair of lips

That I've lost in the moment

All I want is for you to come back

Now I'm caught

In the middle of life

And I need

I need you to survive

Survive

I need you to survive

Cause without you by my side

I can't survive

Survive

I need you to survive

Cause without you by my side

I can't survive

And this can be the end

I want to settle for being your friend

Our broken bond is not too late to mend

But what can I do?

Cause I'm just a sinking ship

And you're just a pair of lips

That I've lost in the moment

All I want is for you to come back

Now I'm caught

In the middle of life

And I need

I need you to survive

She said won't you walk right

So I can give you one more chance

You're only living in your damn head

Cause without you by my side

I can't survive

I need you to survive

Cause without you by my side

I can't survive

I can't survive

Cause without you by my side I can't survive

Cause I'm just a sinking ship

And you're just a pair of lips

That I've lost in the moment

All I want is for you to come back
