Hi everyone it's Kristen and today we are going to be doing a video that has been a long time
coming and it's something that I get a lot of questions about I've been doing
freebies sample survey and free products exchange for review for about two years
now and over that time I have come across a lot of fake or scam websites
that I feel like you guys need to know about so if you guys are interested in
freebies samples surveys for money or free products in exchange for review
sites and you are just getting started or you're interested in knowing which
websites to avoid , then this video is for you now all the types I'm going to be
presenting to you today are just in my opinion they appear to be scams or
things that you should avoid but I cannot give you a hundred percent
certainty that these are not real I will explain to you why I believe they're
fake and why I think you should avoid them but in in the end it's up to you
and you have to decide whether or not to think it's a scam if you think it's real and
you can definitely try it out you don't have to take my word for it
but I'm just trying to tell you with my experience and what I've seen and
knowing more legitimate sites versus scam like sites I think that I could help you
guys avoid the frustration and the waste of time if you guys have any experience
with any of these sites and you know that they are a legitimate
I would be more than happy to hear about that so let me know in the comments through this video
it's going to be a recurring theme and it seems too good to be true then it
probably is and you have to use your head with freebies and samples and
surveys if it sounds like what you're getting is going to be so much more than
you're giving it then it's probably a scam so one of the first kinds of
websites that I want to talk about is pay per click sites and what these sites
are is they claim that they will give you money in exchange for clicking a
link that they will give you and this link could be to a different website it
could be to an ad it could be to a video that you have to watch for 30 seconds it
all depends on which website and what they are requiring of you a lot of these
websites will say that they'll give you $1 per click seven dollars per
just by clicking a link and of all of you or you may have to watch this video
for however long and then they'll tell you that you can cash out after you've
reached a certain amount and that amount usually is $100 $1000 I've seen before
which is the most common and the ones that I've seen and you're just thinking
oh my god this is going to make me so much money this is so easy why are we
doing this and then you kind of come to the realization that this is a scam
how I got to this website was I was looking at different places that you
could go and earn rewards or free product and I stumbled across these sites
and along the way I had also been using insta GC and with Insta GC they have
survey and different types of little activities that you can do but they also
have pay per click on their site and it is only like 4 cents per click and you
only get a few of them and then there's ones where you can go through like a
slideshow like 10 pages or so and you get one cent and so looking at insta GC
you see over here giving you 4 cents per click or one cent per click and over
here where they're offering you a dollar or seven dollars it just starts to seem
like a scam so when I came upon these sites I kind of went thru the motions just
to see what it was about but I never got out to the cash out point because I felt
like upon what I was seeing that it would be a waste of my time but I did do some
research on them and I found a lot of mixed reviews I found a lot of people
kind of on reddit and websites like that saying that they were a scam and then I
came across these videos on YouTube there were like two separate videos with
two different people and they didn't have any other videos on their channel
which is also kind of sketchy to me that that would be their only video but in
videos they would show you the website like one dollar per click or whatever
the website name is and they would show you their PayPal account and the payouts
that they had which were like thousands of dollars and they have a couple different
times that kind of leads you to believe that they are legitimate but at the same time like
these people could be working with or for these websites to kind of mislead
people even more and tell them that it is a real site when it isn't and so I
still felt like there wasn't enough people saying that yes this was real
this is something that you should do that there are going to pay you and
so I never went through the entire thing to figure it out I felt like it would be
better to spend my time doing something I knew for sure I was going to pay me
out that had a lot more reviews it had a lot more people saying yes this is the
real thing and so I felt like after everything I have seen and just knowing
that over here this website that I know is real is giving out so much less money
than this one and you had you kind of have to think like why would they give
you so much money just for clicking on a link like if it doesn't make sense then
it probably isn't true the next type of scam that we're going to talk about is
the fake surveys and fake giveaways they're both kind of similar but they're
sort of different at the same time but first I want to talk about the fake
surveys and I think a lot of people when getting started into freebies and
samples and surveys come across these right away just because they're so like
overly advertised and kind of do a lot to try to get you to click on them that
you guys come across those and just assume that all freebies and samples
and surveys are this way and then you guys don't even try and the kind of
surveys that I'm talking about are the ones that kind of promise you something
so great that it can't make sense, I've seen some that say do this survey and
we'll give you $100 Taco Bell gift card hundred dollar Taco Bell gift cards sign
me up for that this type of survey I've seen it kind of ask you questions like
do you have auto insurance and you'll be like yes or no and if you click yes it
will take you that yes button is linked to another website that's trying to sell
you car insurance and all the questions are that way and that's kind of an
indicator of it being in a scam survey because most surveys
that are real there are some that pay you are asking you specific questions
like they'll all have be recurring around this one topic they won't be
asking you one question do you have health insurance do you like shopping a
Kohl's , they're not going to ask you all those and like our real survey they may
ask you those in order to get you to a real survey because I can think of like
pro opinion they'll ask you like a few beginner questions before they give you
an actual survey but in general if you're having a survey that's asking you
like all these different questions and taking you to different websites and
stuff that survey is not real and another good indicator is why would they
give you $100 Taco Bell gift cards Sears gift card why would they give you a free
iPhone for answering questions on a survey and I know at first you're like
oh my gosh I want to do all this stuff I want to know stuff for free I need money
from to try it and it's just a waste of your time it takes you to different
websites that may or may not be good for your computer I've had ones that have
sent me sometimes places that like it looks like you have a virus it give you like
that little like pop-up thing where you like can't click yes or no it just
starts talking to you and all that stuff so those are not good so try to avoid those
types of surveys I can you start seeing those signs like I'm telling you then
just get out of it the real survey is not going to take you to a different
website they want to keep you there to answer the survey
next is the fake giveaways and the fake surveys and take giveaways are similar
because a lot of them are just there to get your information and what I mean by
that is is a lot of times in surveys or in giveaways you have to give them your
name your number your address and you have to give them your real information
or how can they send you the $100 Taco Bell card or how can they send you the
prize that you win if you don't give them the right information it's harder
to tell what giveaways are fake because you never know you know
no they're actually going to give you a prize and giveaways in general could be
fake they could just be telling you, oh sign up to win and as you're signing up
to win they also want you to sign up for their newsletter so now it looks like
to advertisers in to whoever that they have more people signing up for the
newsletter than they actually do I mean this is a good way for a lot of
people to get more subscribers and more people to their email more people to
know about them so that's why I let people do giveaways and sweepstakes and
stuff which I'm not saying that that's a bad thing it's just that sometimes they
may not actually be giving out a prize and it's hard to know who is actually
giving out a prize because a lot of time and you won't know the winner
because the winner wants to remain anonymous
or they just don't announce it ,so it's really hard to decide what giveaways are
real and what aren't I would just again kind of look at the website that it's on
the website looks sketchy if it's not like a name brand name brand people
usually have to give out prizes because people check up on them but ever since I
started doing surveys, freebies, giveaways and signing up for them and
getting out my real number I could call it at least five times a day by random
numbers and I always block them so they're always room numbers and it's
just something that happens I guess I mean someone somewhere online has to
sell my number out for people to call it or they're doing the calling
same thing happens with your email I get a lot of spam emails and you're giving
out your full name and your address and that's a lot of information to give out
so you really have to decide is the prize is the free product is the survey
of worth giving out my information and someone could steal it
someone could use it to annoy you with a thousand calls and it's just something to
keep in mind I plan on hopefully someday getting PO
box but there again a lot of people will not send things PO boxes so you just
keep that in mind as well you don't want to give them fake information because
then if they are legit if you did win then you'll never
know because they'll be calling some random number and then you'll never get
your prize so I mean either give them your real
information or don't enter at all this one website in particular that is sort
of like this and I think this is what they do and this is actually for free
samples and sort of like a survey thing that'll make you go through a survey and
it will at the end of the surveys you'll be able to sign up for the free product
or sample .You have answer all these questions and again this kind of
survey if you answer yes or no to it will take you somewhere else and so way
back when when I first started I kind of caught wind of this and I was like I'm
never getting any of the free products or samples that they're telling me I'm
getting and I'm going through this whole thing a couple different times and so I
started paying attention out I write down like what the product was supposed
to be and what days I got it on are like signed up for it on and I never got any
of them not giving them my information again because they're obviously not
doing what they say their going to and it's probably a scam the next thing I talk
about is a little bit different and it's more on the part of the people that
participate in giveaways and sweepstakes and it's mostly contests that I see this
happen and I used to pay more attention to them like contests back in the day don't really do anything with them
but now I don't really do anything with them
because of this and it's when you sign up to do like a contest you'll take like
a picture of "cutest dog" for instance and then you'll put it on your Facebook
or put it on your social medias and people will vote on it
Well.. this can kind of be rigged
because if you know a lot of people or if you kind of like your picture if you
like my picture on this website like it'll be a different website and
different contest but like you kind of swap likes and this happens more than
you would think there are communities like Facebook groups that do this there
are just like people who do this online and are friends there's to be a lot of
drama online about this and I don't think that much can be
done if they do it like behind the scenes so with things like contests
and stuff online it can be rigged I mean you don't really know it's not
necessarily going to happen but it's just something that I've noticed that
happens and that's why I personally don't ever really enter a contest and it's
kind of more of a popularity contest and actually the picture contest sometimes
sweepstakes out this way too but usually sweepstakes and giveaway or more random
so yeah keep that in mind as well that things can be manipulated by the people
participating just as well as it can be manipulated by the people giving to
giveaway or contest lastly if a giveaway thing looks too good to be true and like
it's hard to say because you never know who's really giving away a car or who is
really giving away a vacation and I've entered a lot of giveaways in my time
and I have never won anything big I have won some smaller items which is always
really nice too but I've seen some people that I've been YouTube friends
with and they enter a lot a lot of Giveaways and one lady in particular she
got a trip to New York and she got to meet Taylor Swift and I've seen people win
different types of getaways and things like that so it is possible to win a lot
of the giveaways probably most of them are true I don't want anyone to think
that I'm discouraging you from entering giveaways and sweepstakes it's just I
feel like it's better to be informed about the certain scams that are out
there and things to look for and one more thing about giveaways , actually this
is a story about something that happened to me and I heard other people this has
happened to as well and someone will call you up and say you've won a
getaway on a cruise and you can pick someone else to come with you and you
get everything paid for and blah blah blah and you're like oh wow I've
actually want to give away like I kind of thought like maybe it is actually
worth my time and so I was listening to all their
information because I wasn't necessarily like oh yeah I won I'm just kind of like
maybe I won but I'm like i'll just hear this person out and so they're telling me
all this stuff it sounds great I get free food,I get all this stuff and so
does my passenger the only thing is is that you're going to have to pay for
the port fee or something for the cruise and like I thought I just won this cruise
I'm not going to pay you a port fee and you have to pay that right and now was the other thing
like as the person was speaking to you, you have to pay it
and I'm like you are full of it because like who has that money usually
to be like oh yeah sure let me just get out my debit card and let you have it
and who are you who are you with like it's just definitely a scam and I was
like uh.. no. because that's it sounds like a scam but something sounds like a scam
I'm telling you guys it is you can't just think that everyone's just going to
give you things and every survey is just going to pay you a lot of money because most
surveys don't pay you a lot of money um and you
have to work overtime and so it's not something that you're going to get rich
from it's not something that you're going to quit your day job for which I
think a lot of people who are looking for and it's just not going to happen
I've looked at a lot of different websites for giveaways for surveys and
it's just you have to work out a long time we have to spend a lot of time
doing it but it's something you can do as a side job or if you're a stay-at-home mom who
wants to make some extra money and you don't necessarily need a job then this
is what you should do I have a full-time job this is not my job but it does help
pay for different things that I want like makeup or what-have-you to have
extra but it's definitely not going to be a full-time job and lastly the last
category that I want to talk you guys about today is free products in exchange
for review I have a lot of different websites that I like to do this for some
of them give you the product for free and you do the review some of them will give you the
product at a discount and then you can do the review now since Amazon's rules
have changed there's not very many Amazon products in exchange for review
because now you're not required to do a review you can do one if you want
do it but there are still a lot of good websites that will get you in contact
with individual companies and then they can work out something with you based
upon your social following and a lot of different things and they're going to
decide whether or not they're going to pay you and all that good stuff there
are some scams associated with free products in exchange for review a while
back as well I was talking to a company through Tomoson which kind of gave me
a false sense of security thinking that Tomoson vetted the
companies that they work with and I don't think they really do and not
saying anything really bad about Tomoson it's just on my part I was kind of naive
thinking that whoever came through that website was going to be legitimate and
that was my fault for believing but I learned from that what happened was that
they had a couple different like small electronic products that were normal
products to be on Tomoson so it wasn't something like out of the ordinary and
then we're going to give me like three different products but all they wanted
was to pay for shipping now when Tomoson first got started and
and Amazon prime wasn't that big of a thing that's actually the way it used to be
they would give you the free products but you have to pay how are much shipping
because they didn't want to have to come out of pocket to give you a free product
and that's kind of how it was so it was it was kind of familiar to me that
something like that might happen and I guess I just believed they would
actually give me the product and I paid I believe like $15 I believe it was for
the shipping and I thought that was a reasonable amount for shipping
and I paid it thru Pay Pal which is what I would suggest that you do because
request that they refund you your stuff and that's what I did and I got my money
back but yeah the company just never sent anything never said anything else
after I paid it and I mean I knew going into it that I was going to use PayPal
in case that something like that did happen but it was just a
hassle and a disappointment to have to deal with that so that would be my first
warning to you about is about free products in exchange for review now that Amazon
prime is a thing that really didn't happen but now that Amazon is not doing
reviews or letting people to reviews that way it may in some cases be that
way but usually now they will send you the product and ship to you for free
places like Bzz Agent and Influenster they never charge you for shipping and
they give you the product for free so if you guys are interested in getting you started
those two are very good for that and the other thing I wanted to mention is not really a
scam it's just something to look out for and that's companies sort of persuading you
to give them a good review and they cannot do that
according to FTC rules and I'll leave a link down below if you guys want to read
those because there's like actually a federal government thing saying that
they cannot tell you to leave a good review that was even when Amazon was
doing their review thing they would let you if you had to disclose that you have
the product for free and you have to give your honest unbiased review and
usually a lot of people will require you to have that statement so if you guys
want to see those rules I'll put them down below if they are important
certain things could happen with your YouTube videos and things like that if you don't
tell people that you're being sponsored or that you're doing an ad or that
you've got the product for free so those are important things to keep note of but
getting to the point I've had a couple.. not a lot, not a lot of them will do this but
I've had one in particular they would give you the product as long as I would
at least give them four stars on Amazon this is before and I'm like I can't
promise you that and then they weren't going to give me the product so now if I
go fine if you guys want to be that way but they're not allowed to do that first
and foremost and then you don't want to work with a company who acts like that
because you just don't I mean they're not good people then that they're
pressuring you to give them a good review are making you feel like you owe
them a good review, so I hope showing you guys some of the
sites that I'm pretty sure are scams helps you I hope that these tips help
you avoid any of the ones that I personally haven't come across but you
might especially for people just getting started doing surveys I've heard them a
lot say "how can you find these surveys that actually pay you?" and it's kind of
hard in the world where a lot of the surveys that are scams are very much
advertised a lot of them are like advertised like in the top bar or like
on the side and I'll have like little flashy advertisements and I'll be like
earn fifty dollars one survey those are usually fake and you just have to use
your head like does it make sense that they pay you fifty dollars for a survey
I've had studies and different beta testing give me fifty dollars but never
a survey that takes me two minutes a legitimate website will be used by a lot
of different people and will probably have reviews on YouTube as well as blogs and
I also plan to do more reviews on different websites that give out free
product reviews and whatnot I have done Tomoson, Influenster, and also done
a video on Listia, you guys want to check that out so I've got a lot of
different ones so if you guys wanted a more in depth review and tutorial on
how to use them, so if you guys are interested in that then go check those
out let me know in the comments if you guys know of any other places that
you're pretty sure in the scam or and you guys stories that you have about any
of these websites if you guys know that these websites that I'm talking about
are legit I'd also like to know that I also do products reviews beauty
tutorials and special effects makeup tutorials on this channel as well so if
you're interested in seeing any of that for me that I really love it if you guys
would subscribe to my channel and like me on Facebook,Twitter, and Instagram if
you're on those thank you guys so much for watching I hope this video can I
help you guys especially new freebie hunters and survey takers and all that
good stuff thank you guys so much for watching and
you guys again soon
