Youtube daily report w Jun 18 2017

Welcome everyone to my 1-year channel celebration contest.

Well, it's few days past full year but still, we can have nice things right?

This time you will compete not only for 500g price pool but also for t-shirts and paper

notebook with Guild Wars 2 motive donated by ArenaNet.

Unfortunately sending packages to another side of the world is too expensive for me,

so the contest will be limited only for EU.

If you are not from Europe you can still participate and win at least that gold.

So let's take a closer look at how this contest works.

It's a simple one really, all I want from you is some in-game cosplay.

Just take your character and make him look like your favorite movie actor, celebrity

or even characters from other games.

Once you have it, make at least 3 screenshots from different angles.

Don't forget to do it in some really cool place since it will also matter.

Then send them to email tekkitsworkshop@gmail.com with few extra pieces of information what

you can find down below.

It's also quite simple.

Your in-game tag what you can see for example when you open LFG window in format name.number.

Nickname what will be announced if you win.

You can leave this blank.

In that case, I will announce you with tag instead

and also who are you cosplaying.

You can send your screenshots for 3 weeks after the release date of this video.

Once it's done I will gather few female friends with decent fashion taste and we will make

some top5 or maybe even top10 list.

In next video, I will show all final contestants and you will vote for 1 winner.

He or She will receive 2 t-shirts and paper notebook with Guild Wars 2 motive and also

250 gold.

But that's not all.

Since I have also a great taste for fashion myself, there will be a 2nd winner picked

entirely be me.

It can be a person from the top list or someone who didn't get there at all so don't lose

hope.

He or She will also receive 2 t-shirts with Guild Wars 2 motive and 250 gold.

So good luck to everyone and I enjoy the contest.

Walking Bass - Game Suite Zone - Duration: 4:42.

Hello there, and welcome to Game Suite Zone: the series where we learn more about music

and composition by covering and analyzing video game music.

Today, we'll be talking about the walking bass.

Sorry buddy.

I don't think I need you for this episode.

This term describes a bass line that helps move the music forward by providing a consistent

pulse and transitioning notes for chord changes.

To simplify it, overall changes to the music's direction are easier to predict and piece

together, and notes are consistently played on-beat to create an easy-to-follow pace,

like a metronome.

It's usually used in 4/4 time.

You can play up and down the notes of a scale, move up the notes of a chord, and repeat notes

twice if you want to.

There are a variety of ways to express this technique.

Here's an example of what it'd look like in sheet music!

It's nothing specific.

This, for example, is a series of quarter notes played on every beat.

Additionally, if you didn't already know, that pair of numbers there is called a time

signature.

The top number tells us how many beats are in a measure, and the bottom tells us what

one beat is equal to.

In this case, the top number tells us that we have four beats in a measure, and the bottom

number tells us that a quarter note is equal to one beat.

For now, that's all you need to know.

Now that we know what this is, let's see some examples in video game music!

Be sure to focus on listening to the bass notes.

You may be pleased to know that it's also used in a song from an upcoming game, Super

Mario Odyssey, which is apparently called "Jump Up, Super Star!"

As heard in these examples, a walking bass line does a perfect job of keeping time very

clearly.

As you may also noticed, this technique is used in a lot of casino levels.

It makes a lot of sense, considering that this technique is primarily used in jazz music,

and casino levels are typically jazzy in nature.

You'd be surprised!

Think of another casino level that pops up in your mind.

It might just be using a walking bass for its music.

Now to show that we really understand what this is, let's create our own example that

makes use of the walking bass!

Another purpose of a walking bass is to guide the song through different chords and tones

-- leaving transitions less ambiguous.

It's not simply one or two notes being played all day, but more.

It's melodic -- as in, it sounds musically satisfying as, for example, hearing the lead

notes of Green Hill Zone, or Seaside Hill.

Let's work with that in mind.

Here's my example!

I made the bass slightly louder, in case it's hard to hear it.

I have to admit that it was actually pretty hard to come up with a walking bass example.

That was, that was reaaally hard.

Really hard.

Anyway, that basically covers the walking bass.

While it's known for giving us a consistent beat to keep up with, it also helps the music

move between chords, as if you were walking back and forth between multiple places.

Hope you learned something new and interesting today!

Thanks for watching.

Geri and I will see you another time.

Oh, that's right.

He left.

[015] Filming in Mumbai 2/2 - Duration: 7:06.

My health condition got worse yesterday night...

So this morning, I went to the drugstore and this time, they gave me effective medicine so I feel better already.

I'm still rather weak though...

I'm heading to the bazaar area right now.

I've found a place where I could get a nice point of view on the city so let's check it out!

We run into flocks of sheep within the city, it's quite weird!

Sometimes, we feel that we are back in middle age.

I'm inside the building so time for some scouting.

I think that I've found the place.

It's a whole floor of abandoned offices so it's perfect!

It looks like there are some people who sleep here at night.

Bad news...

A security guy was with me and he kindly let me film but he had to go now and had to close the doors.

So I had to go...

I was filming the sunset but I had to stop...

Thus, I couldn't film the most important periods as sunset and night time.

No luck for this time...

I'm now at Chowpatty beach.

I know this beach well since I came here after celebrating Holi 3 years ago.

A lot memories here and it didn't really change too.

You can see a nice panorama of the city from here.

As you can see, it's quite dirty... Quite...

You need to walk in a zigzag to avoid wastes.

I'm arriving at Marine Drive.

It's a circular bay. It's very famous in Mumbai and it goes until Colaba.

And Colaba is the historical center of Mumbai.

It's very touristic and that's the place where luxury hotels are gathered.

Well, This was the last filming of the day.

CST station's lighting have been redesigned compared to 3 years ago. It looks nice!

And they put a tiny platform for people to take photos so it's nice too.

It's 9pm and some people are laying out carpets on the sidewalk and sleep.

Nocturnal public camping is not a problem here!

It's past 10pm and I finally arrived near my hotel.

A well deserved rest is awaiting me and tomorrow, I'm heading back to Vietnam!

So I'm rather happy!

Family reunion: LSU's connection to Omaha lasts longer than College World Series - Duration: 5:51.

OMAHA, Neb. — Over the past 26 years, Joy and Bruce Hammatt are among the few people from Baton Rouge who have been to Omaha more times than the LSU baseball team.

Just about every year for the last quarter-century or so, the Hammatt family packs up the car each summer and makes the nearly 1,000-mile trip to America's heartland to watch the College World Series.

Sometimes they take a detour through St. Louis. Sometimes they go through southwest Arkansas. But whenever the Tigers make the trip — and three times when they didn't — the Hammatts are right there with them. Seventeen times now, Joy has been to Omaha.

It's like a family reunion — or a cult following, as her sister calls it. Whenever the Hammatts make the 17-hour drive, they see the same faces they met on their first trip.

The Hammatts aren't alone in their tradition. LSU fans are known to flock to Omaha whenever their team has a chance at another national championship.

For many, it's a chance to reconnect with the family they've made at "LSU North."

"The people (of Omaha) are so nice. They remind me of Louisiana people," Joy said. "They embrace baseball. They're great baseball fans. And they love LSU because we bring so many people, we spend so much money, we party, we feed them.

"There's just a huge love affair between the city of Omaha and LSU. When we came up here on years when the team wasn't here, we'd wear our LSU stuff and they'd still say, 'We love LSU. We wish your team was here.' "

The big draw to the Hammatts' tailgate is their fried fish, which is caught right out of their boat in Bayou du Large. Over the years, they've expanded the menu to include shrimp, crawfish étouffée, hush puppies and shrimp and grits — all prepared right outside TD Ameritrade Park.

And anyone who wants a taste is free to ask. The Hammatts hand out plates and Mardi Gras beads to fans, police officers and even a few lucky ushers. Back at Rosenblatt Stadium, Joy used to send plates of food up the elevators to the TV crews in the press box. In 2015, she said, ESPN sent a golf cart for a pickup.

This year's new addition has nothing to do with food or fans, though.

Joy, also known as the "sign lady" around Alex Box Stadium, made a special banner for Saturday's opener against Florida State to honor Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., who was shot in Virginia on Wednesday while practicing for the Congressional Baseball Game later that week.

"Get well Steve Scalise #ForeverLSU!" the sign reads, wishing the best for the longtime baseball fan still recovering in the hospital.

"He's an LSU grad," Joy said. "I just wanted to let him know, in case he's well enough in his room somewhere watching the game, I'm going to hold the sign up and hope it gets on TV and hope he sees it and let him know Tiger Nation is pulling for him."

Once Wayne Vollman, an Alexandria native, saw the Tigers clinched a trip to Nebraska, he took it as a golden opportunity to see friends he made two years ago.

It's the story many LSU fans tell of their trips to Omaha: meeting local converts to the program after years of seeing Louisiana natives bring so much passion to Omaha.

"We're LSU fans. Wherever LSU goes, we go," Vollman said. "Plus, these very nice people I met here two years ago in Omaha — we tailgated with them and they've become great friends of ours. So we wanted to visit some good friends and go to the ballgame. That's why we drove 14 hours, to see them."

On Saturday, Vollman was tailgating with Teresa Vogel and her husband, local Omahans, who have cheered for the Tigers for a decade after a close friend and LSU fan died. Since then, Vogel said, she remembers her friend through the Tigers.

The love affair isn't only within the confines of Omaha, either.

When the Vogels were driving through Baton Rouge a few years back, they stopped by an LSU baseball game at Alex Box Stadium. They weren't looking for anyone in particular and only had general admission seats, but once locals found out they were from Omaha, they became instant royalty, given passes to a suite.

"(LSU fans) are unbelievable," Vogel said. "I said in my next life, I'm going to live in Louisiana. It's just wonderful."

At 950 miles, LSU is the fourth-closest of the eight teams playing in Omaha this weekend, but not every LSU fan is coming from Louisiana.

Coosh Willis drove 22 hours from Tallahassee, Florida, to be with the Tigers this weekend and doesn't plan to leave until the team does.

Willis, originally from Gonzales, made his second trip to Omaha this year, meeting up with his actual family from all over the Southeast for a baseball-centric reunion.

You may notice Willis' adopted hometown is also the home of LSU's opponent on Saturday, but the Cajun restaurant owner's alliances are not in question as he hands out bowls of jambalaya to random passersby.

"Everybody here loves LSU," Willis said. "It's just great to come up here and get the warm hospitality you'd expect at LSU, but up north in Omaha."

Hayek vs. Keynes - Hamilton Cabinet Battle #1 Parody - Duration: 3:09.

[ECON GOD ADAM SMITH] Ladies and gentlemen, you coulda been anywhere

in the world tonight, but you're here with us in New York City.

Are you ready for a policy meeting, huh???

The issue on the table: John Keynes' plan to assume national debt

and stimulate aggregate demand.

Friedrich Hayek, you have the floor, sir.

[HAYEK] Freedom of the market without government control

Coordinates your actions, so the 'conomy can grow

These are wise theories, classicals quote 'em

Don't act surprised, you guys, cuz I wrote 'em

Ooow, but John Keynes forgets His plan to boost demand assumes national

debts Now, take a guess, if his stimulus crashes

Keynes will run away as our economy collapses

[KEYNES] Not true!

[HAYEK] Ooh, if the shoe fits, wear it

You put the government in debt, then force businesses to bear it?

Uh!

Check again, my friend If you crowd them out, businesses tend not

to spend

Supply side, we build jobs with tax breaks We create.

You give politicians money like hotcakes Your financial plan relies too much on demand

And it's too many damn pages for any man to understand

Stand with me in the land of the free And keep our money 'way from Keynesian inadequacy

Look, if we run your theory, we just create more inflation

And no one gon' approve of economic castration

[ADAM SMITH] Thank you, Mr. Hayek

Mr. Keynes, your response

[KEYNES] Hayek.

That was a real nice declaration Welcome to the present, people study my equations

Would you like to join us, or keep waiting For the nation to recover while our currency's

deflating

If we assume the debts, the 'conomy gets An new line of credit, a financial diuretic

- How do you not get it?

If we keep spending imperative The nation gets a boost.

You'd rather give it a sedative?

I've got a headline for the papers: "Hey neighbor.

You're unemployed 'cause he can't pay for labor."

"We build jobs with our plans.

We create."

Yeah, keep ranting.

Your theory's about as broke as the banking

And another thing, Mr. Scottish Enlightenment Don't lecture me about the crash, your theory

heightened it You wanna save all our cash?

That money's stuck in the banks If we don't spend then our economy tanks

Mister Freddie H., an impediment to the government Decadent—you get in the way of Keynesian

betterment Classicals, you waste all our money to coddle

businessmen Wait for the long run?

We'll already be dead by then

*music off* Sittin' there useless as two shits

Hey, turn around, bend over, I'll show you where my shoe fits

[ADAM SMITH] Excuse me!?

Hayek, take a walk!

Keynes, take a walk!

We'll reconvene after the Depression.

This meeting is adjourned!

English for Chinese Speakers 34 - 'I very bad' or 'I am very bad'? (with subtitles) - Duration: 2:17.

Hello once again everyone, and welcome

back to 'One English Tip in One Minute

for Speakers of Chinese (and its many

language varieties). In these videos I

discuss each week, in detail, one common

English mistake made by Chinese speakers,

and this is video number 34.

I'm not sure if I tell you this enough,

but I think it's a smart, cool and a very

practical thing to do in today's world

to try to improve your English...and even

to know English in the first place. It's

very admirable. In these videos, I show

you a slide, and on the slide there are

two sentences: One is the correct way a

native English speaker would say it, the

other is the wrong way that many Chinese

speakers say it. You need to decide

which one is correct. Do that now. Read

the sentences, listen to me read the

sentences, pause the video, think about

your answers and I will discuss the

answer in the slide that follows this slide.

If you, like millions

of other people out there, got this wrong --

or you took a wild guess and just got it

right -- it simply means that you need to

start studying this. It's really not

that difficult. You just have to get the

structures into your head. To start

you off on that process I've given you

sentences you can study from. You

should memorize these sentences, you

should review them -- it's very important --

and you should put into practice what

you've learned through speaking or

writing or both. Keep repeating this

process until the bad English is out of

your head, and the good English is in your head.
