My path to medicine started pretty early.

I had a desire to do something in the sciences very young just because I liked science.

And as I went through high school and college,

I spent some time volunteering at a hospital in Dallas, Texas where I grew up.

I had these fantastic experiences taking care of kids and patients and I enjoyed supporting the patients

and families in multiple different ways, whether it was sitting with them when they were crying,

feeding the babies or supporting them when they were happy, I really enjoyed it.

I've always had an interest in the arts.

I'm a photographer and a painter.

In medical school I honed in on surgery really because of the combination of art and science.

Getting though the patient's different anatomy and tweaking the procedure to make sure

it's tailored to the patient is really an art form.

I started out interested in cardiothoracic surgery and vascular surgery

wanting to treat heart disease and vascular disease.

The part that ultimately changed my mind to treating bariatric patients and obesity

was if I treated patients with obesity through bariatric surgery,

I could actually prevent the heart disease or improve their heart disease.

I loved the ability to take patients off their medications and give them a second

chance at life because of the fact we've been able to improve their blood pressure,

improve their heart disease, improve their lung disease,

get them off their diabetic medications, save them some money,

and give them give the energy they need to spend time with their family.

One patient particularly who had a ventricular assist device, meaning a machine in their heart pumping

for them because their heart was too weak to do it itself, we were able to

not only get the patient to have that machine removed because their heart was doing so well,

he also came off the transplant list.

I find that is reflective of how beneficial bariatric surgery can be for the right patient.

The first question I ask a patient when them come in and see me is,

"why do they want to have weight loss surgery?"

"Why are they interested in this?"

Everybody has a different answer and that can help me understand

why they're going through this process.

Whether it's just they want to be able to walk around without pain or

they want to be able to chase their grandkids around the playground or the house.

Then the question is, "what kind of surgery do you want?"

And we take that surgery and we try to make sure it's the safest thing for them

through the preoperative process where we have them see a bunch of experts

that are part of our team, and do some imaging and lab work

to help us make sure that's the safest choice for them.

Most of the time the patients know what's best for them.

And it's just making sure that we're doing the right thing and we've confirmed that they're right.

I'm originally from Chicago, I have family in the Midwest

and I've always loved the Midwest and the people here.

They're just very sociable, and kind, and easy to talk to and take care of.

Washington University, specifically, has always been an interest of mine.

All the way back from undergraduate school to now,

it's within the surgical world, it's one of the best programs in the county for training residents

and future surgeons.

So I have this unique opportunity at Barnes-Jewish Hospital with Washington University

to teach the next generation of surgeons.

Not only about general surgery and minimally invasive surgery,

but what I love, bariatric surgery.

China vs Russia 2017 - Who Would Win? - Army / Military Comparison - Duration: 7:03.

When the Infographics Show compiled our list of the world's most powerful militaries,

our research concluded that in no uncertain terms The United States of America was placed

at the top.

The next two spots on the list were taken-up by the countries of Russia and then China,

with media and military analysts almost universally agreeing on this order.

While Russia has been a notable military powerhouse for some time, China's emergence as a military

superpower has been more recent.

The country experienced meteoric economic growth in the past half century after opening-up

to global markets.

Much of this new money has been invested on the country's defense, with China's ascension

as an economic powerhouse enabling it to purchase the latest in advanced military equipment.

Today we'll compare these two military giants, in this episode of the Infographics Show,

China vs. Russia.

We'll start with a brief overview of the relationship between the two nations in modern

times.

After the People's Republic of China was formally established in 1949, a close alliance was

formed between the Soviet Union mainly based on a sharing of Marxist-Leninist ideology.

The Soviets helped the PRC to both modernize and industrialize the country, but the relationship

soon soured leading to what became known as the Sino-Soviet Split.

For many years the Chinese-Soviet border on both sides was armed with missiles, with China

then seeing the Soviets as a bigger threat than western superpowers.

The dissolution of the Soviet Union ended this mutual animus, and the two nations are

presently seen as being on good terms.

It is China, though, that has been the rising star of global economic prosperity.

Since the Chinese government introduced economic reforms in 1979 the GDP started to see healthy

growth.

China presently has the second largest nominal GDP in the world at over 11 trillion dollars

in 2016.

Behind China is Japan with a GDP of almost 5 trillion dollars, while Russia's GDP was

just over 1.5 trillion dollars in 2016.

China's defense expenditure reflects its economic strength, being the second highest

in the world in 2015 at around 145 billion dollars.

Russia's defense budget ranked in third place on the list with a 65 billion dollar

defense budget.

Global Firepower puts China's defense budget at almost 162 billion dollars for 2017 with

Russia in 6th place on the list at 44.6 billion dollars.

We should also take into account that the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute,

as well as the U.S. Department of Defense, have said that China's military budget is

much bigger than the number we see reported.

China's finance minister Xiao Jie has publicly denied this.

In terms of manpower, it may not surprise you that China has a formidable number of

personnel, it being the most populated country in the world with 1.38 billion people.

China has around 2,335,000 active frontline personnel and over one million active reserve

personnel and paramilitary forces.

Russia has around 766,000 currently signed-up for active military service, although it's

thought it has as many as 2.5 million active reserve personnel.

We thought we'd try and find out what low ranking soldiers take home each month in terms

of wages.

It's difficult to find the exact amount a Chinese or Russian new army recruit gets

paid, but we found one Russian news source in 2012 that stated soldiers just had a significant

increase in wages at 1,000 dollars a month, and a Chinese news source from 2011 stating

a basic soldier's wages had risen to $826 a month.

Moving on to more serious matters, we will now compare the land artillery of each country.

Both countries are very well equipped, with Russia showing superiority in terms of numbers.

Russia has a total of 15,400 main battle tanks, 31,300 armored fighting vehicles, 5,972 self-propelled

guns, 4,625 towed artillery and 3,793 multiple launch rocket systems.

China, even with a much bigger budget, has 9,150 MBTs, 4,788 AFVs, 1,710 SPGs, 6,246

Towed-Artillery, and 1,770 MLRSs.

We should note that these numbers can fluctuate depending on when the statistics were taken

and whether the equipment is ready for use.

For instance, some sources state the number of tanks for both countries is much higher.

A reflection of China's hefty military investments is its VT-4 main battle tank, which its military

claims is the best battle tank on the planet.

It currently has a possible buyer, too, in Thailand.

China's other main tank is its Type 99.

Russia could be said to have the tank advantage with its well-regarded fleet of T-90s and

its current pride and joy the T-14 Armata.

Both tanks regularly make top ten lists.

Another notable fact is that Russia's army is much more experienced in terms of combat.

Many analysts point out that while China's military is certainly modern, it's also

largely encumbered with the fact it hasn't really been tested.

According to the majority of media, western media at least, Russia is more often than

not considered to have the second-best air force in the world behind the USA.

Of its 3,100 aircrafts, its prize possessions are the multi-role fighters, the Sukhoi Su-35,

a large number of Sukhoi Su-27s, as well as its highly rated interceptor, the MiG-31.

China might be close behind in terms of aerial prowess, in some ways thanks to Russia and

its exports of a large number of Su-35s and Su-27s to China.

But the talk of the town if you're into air force combat is China's Chengdu J-20

stealth fighter, an aircraft which pundits, as well as The Pentagon, have agreed is a

feat of modern engineering.

China's navy has also seen large improvements over the last decade, taking part in the spending

of the country's present fortunes.

China's fleet includes one aircraft carrier, with another recently launched, 35 destroyers,

51 frigates, 35 corvettes, 31 mine warfare, 3 amphibious transports, 8 nuclear attack

submarines and around 60 conventional attack submarines.

China is currently working on its first supercarrier, the CV-18, a project obscured by the screen

of the country's well-known secrecy.

China is also working on a much larger fleet of ships, with nationalinterest.org stating

it might just have the best equipped navy in the world by 2030 as production continues

at a high rate.

Russia's navy is lean in comparison and falls quite a distance behind the navy of

China.

Russia has a total of 60 submarines, 4 frigates, 15 destroyers, 81 corvettes, 45 Mine Warfare

Craft, 14 patrol craft, and only one aircraft carrier.

It's ballistic missile submarine fleet is rated highly and is growing in numbers, and

Russia also has plans to build a supercarrier, although developments are slow compared to

China's supercarrier progress.

Russia may have just come out of the naval scrap looking somewhat forlorn, but it's

about to come bouncing back in a frightening manner.

As we mentioned at the start of this show, Russia was involved in an arms race with United

States of America – a nervous time if ever there was one for anyone that is old enough

to remember the what-to-do-in-case-of-nuclear-strike infomercials.

Russia built-up a huge amount of nuclear weapons and currently has the most nuclear warheads

in the world.

Its arsenal of around 7,000 nuclear warheads is mostly retired or stockpiled, but around

1,900 are deployed.

It's thought China has 270 of these weapons, although it is reported that none of them

are deployed.

Harkening back to China being considered a nation not always transparent about its military

power, a group of researchers in the U.S. once wrote a paper stating that China may

have as many as 3,000 nuclear weapons stored in underground tunnels.

This has never been corroborated with evidence or further research, with the Federation of

American Scientists once impugning the research as "exaggerated and poorly analyzed."

The New York Times reported in March this year that although China intends to raise

military spending again, it's the lowest increase in several years, suggesting the

country may not want to get into an arms race that it can't afford.

In the same month, some media reports suggested that Russia is cutting its military budget

by a massive 25.5 percent, following years of significant increases.

HAVE ON YOUR COLLEAGUES AS THEY CONSIDER THE POLITICS OF THIS

BILL? >> I THINK A BIGGER EFFECT THAN

My path to medicine started pretty early.

I had a desire to do something in the sciences very young just because I liked science.

And as I went through high school and college,

I spent some time volunteering at a hospital in Dallas, Texas where I grew up.

I had these fantastic experiences taking care of kids and patients and I enjoyed supporting the patients

and families in multiple different ways, whether it was sitting with them when they were crying,

feeding the babies or supporting them when they were happy, I really enjoyed it.

I've always had an interest in the arts.

I'm a photographer and a painter.

In medical school I honed in on surgery really because of the combination of art and science.

Getting though the patient's different anatomy and tweaking the procedure to make sure

it's tailored to the patient is really an art form.

I started out interested in cardiothoracic surgery and vascular surgery

wanting to treat heart disease and vascular disease.

The part that ultimately changed my mind to treating bariatric patients and obesity

was if I treated patients with obesity through bariatric surgery,

I could actually prevent the heart disease or improve their heart disease.

I loved the ability to take patients off their medications and give them a second

chance at life because of the fact we've been able to improve their blood pressure,

improve their heart disease, improve their lung disease,

get them off their diabetic medications, save them some money,

and give them give the energy they need to spend time with their family.

One patient particularly who had a ventricular assist device, meaning a machine in their heart pumping

for them because their heart was too weak to do it itself, we were able to

not only get the patient to have that machine removed because their heart was doing so well,

he also came off the transplant list.

I find that is reflective of how beneficial bariatric surgery can be for the right patient.

The first question I ask a patient when them come in and see me is,

"why do they want to have weight loss surgery?"

"Why are they interested in this?"

Everybody has a different answer and that can help me understand

why they're going through this process.

Whether it's just they want to be able to walk around without pain or

they want to be able to chase their grandkids around the playground or the house.

Then the question is, "what kind of surgery do you want?"

And we take that surgery and we try to make sure it's the safest thing for them

through the preoperative process where we have them see a bunch of experts

that are part of our team, and do some imaging and lab work

to help us make sure that's the safest choice for them.

Most of the time the patients know what's best for them.

And it's just making sure that we're doing the right thing and we've confirmed that they're right.

I'm originally from Chicago, I have family in the Midwest

and I've always loved the Midwest and the people here.

They're just very sociable, and kind, and easy to talk to and take care of.

Washington University, specifically, has always been an interest of mine.

All the way back from undergraduate school to now,

it's within the surgical world, it's one of the best programs in the county for training residents

and future surgeons.

So I have this unique opportunity at Barnes-Jewish Hospital with Washington University

to teach the next generation of surgeons.

Not only about general surgery and minimally invasive surgery,

but what I love, bariatric surgery.

NOW THAT THE REPUBLICAN HAS ACTUALLY WON THAT RACE BY FOUR

POINTS LAST NIGHT, WHAT EFFECT DO YOU THINK THAT'S GOING TO

HAVE ON YOUR COLLEAGUES AS THEY CONSIDER THE POLITICS OF THIS

BILL? >> I THINK A BIGGER EFFECT THAN

THAT IS THE FACT THAT PRESIDENT TRUMP HAS BOTH BEEN IN A LUNCH

WITH SENATORS AND TWEETS AND INTERVIEWS SAID THAT HE THINKS

THE SENATE BILL SHOULD BE MORE GENEROUS.

DURING THE CAMPAIGN, HE SAID HE WANTED ALL COVERED, CARING FOR

PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS, ELIMINATING MANDATES, BUT

LOWERING PREMIUMS. IF WE CAN ACHIEVE PRESIDENT

TRUMP'S GOALS, HIS CONTRACT WITH THE VOTER, WE WILL HAVE ACHIEVED

A LOT. I THINK THE PRESIDENT'S TRYING

TO SUPPORT THAT EFFORT RIGHT NOW.

China vs Russia 2017 - Who Would Win? - Army / Military Comparison - Duration: 7:03.

When the Infographics Show compiled our list of the world's most powerful militaries,

our research concluded that in no uncertain terms The United States of America was placed

at the top.

The next two spots on the list were taken-up by the countries of Russia and then China,

with media and military analysts almost universally agreeing on this order.

While Russia has been a notable military powerhouse for some time, China's emergence as a military

superpower has been more recent.

The country experienced meteoric economic growth in the past half century after opening-up

to global markets.

Much of this new money has been invested on the country's defense, with China's ascension

as an economic powerhouse enabling it to purchase the latest in advanced military equipment.

Today we'll compare these two military giants, in this episode of the Infographics Show,

China vs. Russia.

We'll start with a brief overview of the relationship between the two nations in modern

times.

After the People's Republic of China was formally established in 1949, a close alliance was

formed between the Soviet Union mainly based on a sharing of Marxist-Leninist ideology.

The Soviets helped the PRC to both modernize and industrialize the country, but the relationship

soon soured leading to what became known as the Sino-Soviet Split.

For many years the Chinese-Soviet border on both sides was armed with missiles, with China

then seeing the Soviets as a bigger threat than western superpowers.

The dissolution of the Soviet Union ended this mutual animus, and the two nations are

presently seen as being on good terms.

It is China, though, that has been the rising star of global economic prosperity.

Since the Chinese government introduced economic reforms in 1979 the GDP started to see healthy

growth.

China presently has the second largest nominal GDP in the world at over 11 trillion dollars

in 2016.

Behind China is Japan with a GDP of almost 5 trillion dollars, while Russia's GDP was

just over 1.5 trillion dollars in 2016.

China's defense expenditure reflects its economic strength, being the second highest

in the world in 2015 at around 145 billion dollars.

Russia's defense budget ranked in third place on the list with a 65 billion dollar

defense budget.

Global Firepower puts China's defense budget at almost 162 billion dollars for 2017 with

Russia in 6th place on the list at 44.6 billion dollars.

We should also take into account that the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute,

as well as the U.S. Department of Defense, have said that China's military budget is

much bigger than the number we see reported.

China's finance minister Xiao Jie has publicly denied this.

In terms of manpower, it may not surprise you that China has a formidable number of

personnel, it being the most populated country in the world with 1.38 billion people.

China has around 2,335,000 active frontline personnel and over one million active reserve

personnel and paramilitary forces.

Russia has around 766,000 currently signed-up for active military service, although it's

thought it has as many as 2.5 million active reserve personnel.

We thought we'd try and find out what low ranking soldiers take home each month in terms

of wages.

It's difficult to find the exact amount a Chinese or Russian new army recruit gets

paid, but we found one Russian news source in 2012 that stated soldiers just had a significant

increase in wages at 1,000 dollars a month, and a Chinese news source from 2011 stating

a basic soldier's wages had risen to $826 a month.

Moving on to more serious matters, we will now compare the land artillery of each country.

Both countries are very well equipped, with Russia showing superiority in terms of numbers.

Russia has a total of 15,400 main battle tanks, 31,300 armored fighting vehicles, 5,972 self-propelled

guns, 4,625 towed artillery and 3,793 multiple launch rocket systems.

China, even with a much bigger budget, has 9,150 MBTs, 4,788 AFVs, 1,710 SPGs, 6,246

Towed-Artillery, and 1,770 MLRSs.

We should note that these numbers can fluctuate depending on when the statistics were taken

and whether the equipment is ready for use.

For instance, some sources state the number of tanks for both countries is much higher.

A reflection of China's hefty military investments is its VT-4 main battle tank, which its military

claims is the best battle tank on the planet.

It currently has a possible buyer, too, in Thailand.

China's other main tank is its Type 99.

Russia could be said to have the tank advantage with its well-regarded fleet of T-90s and

its current pride and joy the T-14 Armata.

Both tanks regularly make top ten lists.

Another notable fact is that Russia's army is much more experienced in terms of combat.

Many analysts point out that while China's military is certainly modern, it's also

largely encumbered with the fact it hasn't really been tested.

According to the majority of media, western media at least, Russia is more often than

not considered to have the second-best air force in the world behind the USA.

Of its 3,100 aircrafts, its prize possessions are the multi-role fighters, the Sukhoi Su-35,

a large number of Sukhoi Su-27s, as well as its highly rated interceptor, the MiG-31.

China might be close behind in terms of aerial prowess, in some ways thanks to Russia and

its exports of a large number of Su-35s and Su-27s to China.

But the talk of the town if you're into air force combat is China's Chengdu J-20

stealth fighter, an aircraft which pundits, as well as The Pentagon, have agreed is a

feat of modern engineering.

China's navy has also seen large improvements over the last decade, taking part in the spending

of the country's present fortunes.

China's fleet includes one aircraft carrier, with another recently launched, 35 destroyers,

51 frigates, 35 corvettes, 31 mine warfare, 3 amphibious transports, 8 nuclear attack

submarines and around 60 conventional attack submarines.

China is currently working on its first supercarrier, the CV-18, a project obscured by the screen

of the country's well-known secrecy.

China is also working on a much larger fleet of ships, with nationalinterest.org stating

it might just have the best equipped navy in the world by 2030 as production continues

at a high rate.

Russia's navy is lean in comparison and falls quite a distance behind the navy of

China.

Russia has a total of 60 submarines, 4 frigates, 15 destroyers, 81 corvettes, 45 Mine Warfare

Craft, 14 patrol craft, and only one aircraft carrier.

It's ballistic missile submarine fleet is rated highly and is growing in numbers, and

Russia also has plans to build a supercarrier, although developments are slow compared to

China's supercarrier progress.

Russia may have just come out of the naval scrap looking somewhat forlorn, but it's

about to come bouncing back in a frightening manner.

As we mentioned at the start of this show, Russia was involved in an arms race with United

States of America – a nervous time if ever there was one for anyone that is old enough

to remember the what-to-do-in-case-of-nuclear-strike infomercials.

Russia built-up a huge amount of nuclear weapons and currently has the most nuclear warheads

in the world.

Its arsenal of around 7,000 nuclear warheads is mostly retired or stockpiled, but around

1,900 are deployed.

It's thought China has 270 of these weapons, although it is reported that none of them

are deployed.

Harkening back to China being considered a nation not always transparent about its military

power, a group of researchers in the U.S. once wrote a paper stating that China may

have as many as 3,000 nuclear weapons stored in underground tunnels.

This has never been corroborated with evidence or further research, with the Federation of

American Scientists once impugning the research as "exaggerated and poorly analyzed."

The New York Times reported in March this year that although China intends to raise

military spending again, it's the lowest increase in several years, suggesting the

country may not want to get into an arms race that it can't afford.

In the same month, some media reports suggested that Russia is cutting its military budget

by a massive 25.5 percent, following years of significant increases.

HAVE ON YOUR COLLEAGUES AS THEY CONSIDER THE POLITICS OF THIS

BILL? >> I THINK A BIGGER EFFECT THAN

THAT IS THE FACT THAT PRESIDENT TRUMP HAS BOTH BEEN IN A LUNCH

WITH SENATORS AND TWEETS AND INTERVIEWS SAID THAT HE THINKS

PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS, ELIMINATING MANDATES, BUT

LOWERING PREMIUMS. IF WE CAN ACHIEVE PRESIDENT

TRUMP'S GOALS, HIS CONTRACT WITH THE VOTER, WE WILL HAVE ACHIEVED

A LOT. I THINK THE PRESIDENT'S TRYING

  That is the view of European football expert Julien Laurens, who believes Lyons Alexandre Lacazette is Arsenals priority signing.

Sanchez and Ozil are both out of contract at the end of next season and have, especially the Chile forward, been linked with exits from the club.

Sanchez is wanted by Manchester City and Bayern Munich among others but Ozil has not attracted as much interest for his services, with Turkish giants Fenerbahce the most notable club to be keen on him.

The Gunners have already made their first signing, with left-back Sead Kolasinac joining on a free transfer from Bundesliga side Schalke.

As well as Sanchez and Ozil, fellow Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is also out of contract in 2018, has been linked with a move away from the club, with rivals Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City keen.

But Laurens says there will be no more incomings or outgoings at the Emirates before their two star players futures are finalised.

He (Lacazette) is the priority, I think nothing can happen without sorting out the Sanchez and Ozil situation, thats the problem, Laurens said on ESPN FC.

Thats why I think people at the club are maybe getting a little bit frustrated.  If nothing happens with Sanchez and Ozil, the rest of the business cant be done, they need to sort that out.  Whether they stay or go, they need to sort that situation out before thinking about signing other players or even selling other players..

Madison de la Garza played the defiant, often hilarious Juanita Solis on Desperate Housewives

for four years.

But since then, she's gone on to do plenty more, including more acting, voiceover work,

speaking out against bullying, taking up aerial gymnastics, and becoming a budding YouTube

star.

Here's a look at what Eva Longoria's precocious TV daughter has been up to since she left

Wisteria Lane.

Good times

As Desperate Housewives was coming to an end in 2012, De La Garza recounted in an interview

with My San Antonio what a great experience the show was, especially her relationships

with her on-screen mom and dad, Eva Longoria and Ricardo Chavira.

Being a celebrity in her own right, though, took some getting used to.

"People would walk up to me and ask, 'Are you that girl in Desperate Housewives?'

It freaked me out at first.

Now I know how lucky I am to have people recognize me like that.

It makes me feel warm and fuzzy."

The bonds of sisterhood

Though there's a nine-year age gap between Madison De La Garza and her half-sister Demi

Lovato, the two couldn't be closer.

Over the years, De La Garza and Lovato have shared the stage, the screen, and the fight

against online bullies.

In a 2015 interview with Seventeen, De La Garza talked about a time when Lovato came

to her defense.

"I got a ton of negative comments after I posted a Vine on Twitter where I was cooking

with Demi.

People made fun of me, saying I had a hunchback.

Demi freaked and direct-messaged people to yell at them, and she tweeted at her followers

to stand up for me."

The support goes both ways.

Lovato told Access Hollywood that it was during an intervention that her mom told her, "You

know, we're going to move back to Texas and you're not going to be able to be around you're

little sister."

Just the idea of not being around De La Garza was enough to motivate Lovato to overcome

her drug and alcohol addictions.

She was cyber-bullied

Unfortunately, the Vine incident wasn't the only time De La Garza was a victim of online

bullies.

In an essay for Latina, she revealed that as young as age six, she was, quote, "being

called 'fat,' 'ugly,' and 'slut' on Twitter."

Naturally, De La Garza was deeply affected by it.

She wrote, "Their opinions turned into my insecurity—and suddenly I was aware of every

meal, every outfit, every post on social media.

However, every day it gets easier to accept myself for me instead of the labels they had

put on me."

"Reading the mean comments online is not gonna hurt me forever.

That's one thing I've learned."

Flying high

What exactly is aerial gymnastics?

Good question.

Basically, it's that Cirque du Soleil stuff where people flip around on big drapes hanging

from the ceiling, all while somehow not barfing everywhere.

It's pretty impressive, and De La Garza definitely loves it.

"I just have a passion for it.

It's so fun, and it's a great workout.

And number two, it's awesome."

Strong social media game

With over half a million followers on both her Twitter and Instagram pages, De La Garza

has cultivated her stardom into a loyal fanbase.

Like any teen, her pages are filled with selfies and group photos with friends, but De La Garza

also uses her platform to promote causes she supports, like The National Alliance on Mental

Illness and the Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

Surprisingly, she doesn't seem to have an official Facebook page, so either kids are

too cool for that now, or she reads all of her grumpy older relatives' political gripes

elsewhere.

She has her own YouTube channel

After Desperate Housewives, De La Garza moved on to television roles on Bad Teacher and

Muertoons, a cartoon that takes place in a world where "every day is The Day of the Dead."

But she's also staked a claim in the emerging world of new media.

She relaunched her YouTube channel where she declares aspirations in many fields including

acting, directing, producing, and writing, as well as doing special effects makeup.

"Since I want them to look super deep, I'm going to go in with a black color to create

dimension."

"Now that looks super deep."

And she even wrote a short film called The Imbalancing Act, which is pretty impressive

for anyone, much less a teenager.

With both her TV family and her real family backing her, there's no telling just what

she'll end up achieving.

at the Salon International de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace de Paris-Le Bourget,

better known as the Salon du Bourget

or the "Paris Air Show"

like they say everywhere in the world

because this is the biggest meet-up of the global aerospace industry.

Indeed, over a period of seven days, we'll see no fewer than 350,000 visitors

to the 122,500 square meters of stands

and 192,000 square meters of aircraft exhibitions,

with 2,375 presenters from 91 countries showing 140 airplanes.

In fact, Le Bourget is the spot on land where the professionals that rule the skies meet,

including those of stand E172 in Hall 2B – Dassault Systèmes.

Dassault Systèmes is a publisher of 3D software

specializing in 3D digital modeling

and solutions for managing the life cycle of a product.

In short, the company was built around a revolutionary idea:

making the world virtual,

above and beyond the world of aerospace.
