Peruvian Food at Charango Grill and Bar Restaurant in Cape Town, South Africa - Duration: 12:58.

Well good evening from Cape Town once again!

So today we are going out for Peruvian food.

So you know one of the most frequently asked questions in our Peru videos is when are you

coming back to Peru?

And the question is we don't know.

Likely next year for my Grandma's birthday.

Um, but we haven't booked tickets yet so we figured.

That is her 90th right?

It is her 90th.

Yeah, so that is a big date.

It would be in April.

That is a big date!

But in the meantime we figured why not go out for a Peruvian food here in South Africa

and see if it varies.

Maybe they have a different influence, different ingredients.

So we're going to test that out.

Today we're eating at Charango.

And the thing I want to add is Cape Town has a wonderful International food scene.

Yes.

It is like melting pot of cuisines.

So to go out and have Peruvian food in Cape Town is should be tasty.

And the drinks are here.

Oh my gosh, when I saw they had Pisco Sour on the menu I was like this has already made

the meal.

I'm been craving this for months.

And so if you haven't had a Pisco Sour before it basically the alcohol is from a Peruvian

grape brandy which is the Pisco.

And it comes from the town of Pisco.

There is a town of Pisco in Peru.

We've drove past it.

And then you've got your egg whites and you also have drops of bitter.

Bitter as well.

And it is made also mixed with lime juice so let's try that.

That is awesome.

Very good, very authentic.

And?

Oh, so Sam went for the Pisco Sour and I got the Chilcano and basically this has Pisco,

Ginger Ale, Lime Juice.

I believe that is it.

It has been a while since we had a Chilcano.

It is a very colorful and refreshing drink.

Although I think it is a bit hard to see the colors since it is kind of dark.

Let's see.

Mmmm.

What do you think?

That has quite a bit of alcohol you know?

Usually they just give you like a little tiny bit but that has got alcohol.

That is strong.

You may be buzzed before the meal.

Oh my gosh it is a big glass too so I may be.

So we have placed our order.

Yes, so we've ordered basically two dishes.

So the first one being Charango House Ceviche.

Of course.

Which is down here.

We had to go with ceviche at a Peruvian restaurant.

Yeah, of course.

And then the other one we're getting is the Nikkei Tuna Tiradito.

Tiradito.

Yum, yum.

Man, I can't wait for that.

Some fish coming up soon.

Alright, so the house ceviche has arrived.

The Charango.

So I've got my cutlery.

Let's grab a little piece.

So this one came with cherry tomatoes, coriander, a little bit of avocado and red onion.

And this is a starter.

It is not a main so the portions are a little bit smaller.

I think we were really spoiled in Lima when we went to Punto Azul and we would get like

these giant bowls that we could like share between two people.

That is true.

Well, it just means we'll have to order dessert.

That is all.

Yes.

Or more ceviche.

Hahaha.

Mmmm.

So what do you think?

That is good.

Is that good?

You get the lime kick right away.

And I'm going to grab some more avocado and tomato.

So it is like, you know, it is basically ceviche for those who haven't had it it is basically

cured fish.

Cured raw fish in lime juice.

In lime juice.

And that is called the Tiger's milk.

Leche de Tigre.

Yeah, when you get the fish juices and the lime all mixing together.

That is really good.

You know what?

I'm going in for a second one.

Going in for a second bite.

As we say that is how you know it is good.

When Audrey has to go in for a second bite.

Not wasting any time here.

Oh is that the avocado?

These are little avocado swirls.

Wonderful.

Wow.

Yeah.

There we go.

That looks very good.

Audrey approved?

Audrey approves.

So next up I'm having the Tiradito.

And I want to explain it properly so I'm going to read it right from the menu here.

Right off of the menu.

Right off of the menu.

So it is teriyaki, seared tuna.

Oh yeah.

Miso mayo, pickled ginger, lumpfish caviar and ponzu leche de tigre.

So, yeah you're getting fancy over there.

That is getting very fancy over here.

So, wow it just breaks apart.

You don't have to do anything.

I'm having a nice big piece.

I'm going to mix it around in that sauce.

Savor.

Otherwise you're grabbing the largest piece possible and it is going to be gone in one

bite.

Mmm.

Savor it.

Oh my.

To say that melts in your mouth is like an understatement.

The first thing when you put it in your mouth it literally just starts to dissolve and disintegrate.

And that sauce is really nice.

It is not a strong overpowering flavor.

It is not spicy.

It is actually a little more sweet than anything else.

And just that is such really good quality tuna.

My gosh, that is very tasty.

As we always say sharing is caring.

Sharing is caring.

You get to try mine I get to try yours.

And this has sesame seeds.

Look at that.

Oh yeah.

I'm going to try it on its own.

Just on its own.

Isn't that good?

What do you think?

Mmmm.

It is like the filet de mignon of fish.

Haha.

Wow.

It is so soft.

That is really nice.

The texture is so soft isn't it?

It reminds me a bit of sashimi.

Yeah.

Like a seared sashimi.

Yeah, yeah that is a good way of putting it.

One more piece.

This is disappearing so quickly.

This is going to be gone soon.

We should have ordered a main.

But we wanted to make room for dessert because we're having two desserts.

Time for me to try that ceviche.

And I see a little.

Digging in.

I see a little dollop of avocado so let's go on in.

I see lots of lime juice so I am just drowning this in avocado and lime juice.

Yeah.

That is really nice.

So if you had to choose a favorite ceviche or tiradito?

They are so different.

They are both like stars of this meal.

I like them really both.

This one is definitely more sour obviously because of the lime.

Of the lime it is ceviche.

Ceviche is supposed to be sour and again a really nice cut of fish so no complaints over

here.

I mean the portions are not huge but this is the appetizer.

You know we are considering a main.

We are considering chicken.

Considering chicken very strongly over here guys.

Alright, let's just do it.

Let's just do it.

We only live once.

And?

Well, we did it.

We went for the main and we ordered Pollo a la brasa.

And already these look like prime cuts of meat.

Like this is chicken breasts and really really nice meat.

And it is a big portion so I'm glad we're sharing this.

We didn't even order a side with it because we've already had entrees plus we have dessert

coming.

We still have an appetite for dessert.

We do.

We've been thinking about dessert since before we left the apartment.

When we have our minds set on something there is no stopping us.

Here comes the food.

Mmmm.

What do you think?

Mmmm.

That is nice and like crispy and golden and sweet.

That is really nice.

Do you like that?

Yeah, so this is chicken on the grill.

Pollo a la Brasa.

Or if we're going to say it like an Argentine Pollo a la Brasa.

Pollo.

Sam has already announced he wants to eat caveman style.

When you can eat with your hands why not?

And I have to say they have this nice green sauce over here.

So let's try this.

Oh, Mister Caveman at a fancy restaurant.

Oh.

Oh my gosh that is good.

Yeah, it is nice and crispy.

Yeah, crispy on the outside but very tender on the inside.

And you're right it has got a bit of a sweet glaze to it.

Mmmm.

But I think the green sauce is a little bit.

Like the glaze is sweet but the green sauce is a bit more savory.

So you have that nice contrast between the two.

And this is just wonderful.

This is just a very nice meal.

And I mean to be eating Peruvian food here in South Africa was a real nice surprise.

And dessert is here.

Alright so we ordered two desserts.

We got Picarones which is a classic.

And we also got dessert tacos.

Haha.

I mean I think these with chocolate mousse and strawberry.

This is some kind of invention I've never had this in Peru before but I can't say no

to dessert tacos.

So I'm going to start with this.

Oh, it is like a waffle.

Yeah.

It is like a hard waffle.

That is the taco, chocolate mousse, strawberries, icing sugar.

That is a big bite.

Mmmmm.

What say you?

What say you?

Oh, the chocolate mousse is so good.

Is it?

Oh yeah.

The waffle itself is quite hard.

So you kind of have to be careful when you bite.

But man that mousse I could eat that by the spoonful.

Hahaha.

Mmmm.

And Sam is going in for the picarones.

Picarones.

So these are the sweet potato uh dough rings.

Exactly.

And we have something great down here.

Dulce de leche.

Or Manjar Blanco in Peru.

You take it for a swim.

Take it for a woah this is homemade stuff.

Oh, wow that is really thick.

That is thick.

That is it?

That is all?

That is quite a bit.

I know Sam is going to be eating that with a spoonful before biting in.

Mmmmm.

Like pudding.

Anything with that, anything with manjar blanco or dulce de leche is like game over.

Instant hit for me.

That is really nice.

That is really really nice.

I'm going in.

I'm going in.

She says she's going in.

So let's get that icing sugar.

Yep.

Yeah.

Oh yeah.

Oh yeah.

That is how you do it.

That is how you do it.

No skimping out.

Mmmm.

No skimping out.

Mmmm.

Isn't that nice?

Mmmmm.

Yummy-yumma-yumma.

I can't taste sweet potato.

I'm not entirely sure where that comes in.

It just tastes like fried dough to me.

Not that I'm complaining because I'm coating it in dulce de leche.

Yeah, I think the dulce de leche overpowers it for sure.

I mean that is strong.

But isn't that good?

Taco Tuesday.

Is it a Tuesday?

I think we're having this on a Wednesday.

We're having this on a Wednesday.

Taco Tuesday on a Wednesday.

And these aren't even real tacos so.

Haha.

Anyways.

I'm biting that strawberry before it falls off.

You look like you were making out with it.

I'm making out with it.

I kind of was.

I kind of was.

You know what would be the ultimate?

Mmmm.

Dipping the taco in manjar blanco.

Oh, wow.

You're right that mousse is just something else.

Like I could like you said by the spoonful.

Yeah, if you combined the mousse with manjar blanco.

I mean like you said these are nothing like tacos.

This is like a thick waffle.

A thick waffle.

It kind of like those dutch waffles you get right?

What are those called?

Stroopwafel.

It is like a Stroopwafel but even harder.

Or like an ice cream cone waffle.

There you go.

More like a waffle cone waffle.

A waffle cone waffle.

A waffle cone waffle.

Oh man.

That is what I'm going with.

Haha.

Well, it is time to call it an evening.

Yeah, time to assess the damage.

It is price point time.

So that was 560 Rand.

Yep.

Splurge alert.

We definitely splurged in Cape Town.

That was $41 US dollar meal.

But that included everything.

That included the two drinks, the two appetizers, the main which we shared and two desserts.

That is not bad.

Yeah, that is not bad considering I mean this is a bit of a fancier restaurant for sure.

It is definitely more of an upscale kind of contemporary restaurant here in Cape Town

but but it was very good.

We had a craving for Peruvian food.

We tickled our fancy.

Haha.

We had some Peruvian food that tasted fairly authentic.

Quite authentic to be honest.

And we had lots of Pisco.

And we had lots of Pisco.

Loksa Pisco?

Loksco Pisco.

Lots of Pisco.

It is time to say goodbye.

Yeah, time to say goodbye.

Signing out from Cape Town, South Africa.

Tata.

Tata.

UNLIMITED POWER

By Anthony Robbins

Audio Produced by CONSEJOS PARA SER FELIZ

Those who have achieved excellence follow a coherent path to success:

I call it the Ultimate Formula of Triumph. In this formula, the first factor is

In knowing exactly what the result must be, that is, defining precisely what one wants

get. The second factor is to take action, since otherwise

Desires would remain forever in the sphere of dreams.

Actions of the type that are most likely to produce the results

That one desires. This will not happen infallibly, so the third factor is in

Develop the sensory acuity needed to distinguish what kind of reactions and

Results obtained as a result of our actions, and to observe as soon as possible

If we are on the right path or deviate by default or by excess.

It is necessary to know where our actions take us, whether it be a conversation

Or the daily habits of our life. If what we get is not what we expected,

We must note the results produced by our actions so that all experiences

Serve as teaching. With this we move on to the fourth factor, which is to develop

Flexibility to change the course of our behavior

what we want. Observation of the behavior of those who stand out tells us that those are

The steps that they have followed.

They started with a goal, target or target, since it is not possible to hit when one

Does not know where it points. Then they started the action, because knowledge is not enough.

They possessed the quality of reading in others, to discover what reactions they aroused.

And they were able to adapt themselves to correct themselves, to modify their behavior until harvesting

The fruit of his work.

These are the seven basic activating mechanisms that can guarantee you success too

to you:

1 - The passion! All these people have discovered a reason

Which consumes them, gives them energy, almost obsesses them, and urges them to act, to progress,

highlight. It is the locomotive that pulls the train of its success putting in play its more

Deep capabilities.

2 - Faith! It is beliefs that distinguishes those who

They stand out in something big of those who fail, since our faith in what we are and we can

To become to be determined quite accurately what we will be.

The strategy?

Strategy is the way to organize resources.

Every great entertainer, politician, parent or patron knows that to succeed

Resources are not enough; They need to be used most effectively. Search for a strategy

Is to admit that talent and ambition, however outstanding, always need

Find a well-oriented path.

4 - The clarity of values!

Values are systems of beliefs that serve us especially to judge what

Is right and what is wrong in our lives; Are our judgments about what

{47284} {47328} It is worth

5 - The energy!

The winners seize opportunities and give them shape. They live as obsessed with

The wonderful occasions of each day, convinced that the only thing that does not spare anybody is

time

6 - Power of adhesion!

Almost all the winners have in common an extraordinary capacity of adhesion,

That is, a talent for connecting and establishing relationships with other people, whatever

That are their social origins and their beliefs.

7 - Master of communications!

It is the essential theme of this work. The way we communicate with others, and the way we communicate

In which we communicate with ourselves, ultimately determine the quality

of our life. Successful people are those who have learned to accept any

Challenge their lives and communicate that experience to themselves in such a way

That manage to change things for the better.

NLP studies how individuals communicate with themselves in ways that

States of optimal availability of their resources, and therefore create as many as possible

Of behavioral options. One of the postulates of NLP is that all

Neurological systems look alike, so that if anyone in the world can do

One thing, you too can, provided you govern or govern your nervous system exactly

in the same way. This process consists in discovering exactly and specifically what

People do to get a certain result is what we call "modeling."

The largest modelers in the world are the Japanese. The Japanese limited themselves

To take ideas and products initiated in the United States, in a series of cases

Ranging from automobiles to semiconductors, and after meticulous modeling retained the

Better elements and perfected the others.

Man is what he believes. ANTÓN CHEJOV

Good timber does not grow easily; The stronger the wind, the more vigorous the

Trees. J.WILLARD MARRIOTT

Your kingdom is your brain. Just as the king rules his kingdom, you can

To govern his own, provided that he begins to take control of how he is represented

You your experiences in life.

So that if we have a negative image that presents itself to us in a grandiose way,

Bright, powerful and resonant, the brain will whip us with a great experience,

Bright, powerful and resonantly bad. But if we take that negative image and dwarf it,

We darken it, we turn it into a photograph without movement, then we take away its power

And the brain will react accordingly. Instead of falling into a negative state we can

Shrug, or at least endure the situation without being affected too much.

Have you ever been tormented by an incessant internal dialogue, by one

Of those situations where the brain refuses to shut up? Many times our brains dialog

With himself, endlessly, as when we weigh the pros and cons of some

Matter, or when we try to settle accounts with a former opponent. When this

Happens, just turn the volume down. Make the voice ring inside your head every time

Softer, more distant and weaker. With that the problem disappears for the majority

of people.

With the tris-back pattern the internal representations are taken that place us

In a state of impotence, and other internal representations are automatically triggered

New ones that put us in full control of our resources as we wanted.

Here's how it works:

First phase: Identify the behavior you want to change.

Then, form an internal representation of such behavior as if it were

Seeing with their own eyes. If you want to stop biting your nails, let's say,

Represent your own image and raise your hand to bring the fingers to the lips,

And how he gets to bite his nails.

Second phase: Once you have a clear picture of the behavior

That is wanted to change, it is necessary to form a different representation, an image

Of self as it would be if the desired change had already been made, and of what

Such a change would mean for you. Try to imagine how he removes his fingers from his mouth,

How a slight pressure is exerted on the fingers whose nail would gnaw, and consider

His hands perfectly cared for, while looking at himself as a person

Elegantly dressed, of magnificent presence and very sure and owner of itself.

Here is how tris-tras is made: start forming a bright and large image

Of the behavior you want to change. Then, in the lower corner to the right of that

Image, superimpose another small and dark image, how you want to reach

being.

Now take that small image and, in less than a second, increase the size and brightness

Literally 'shuffling' the image of the behavior he wants to abandon. At the same time,

You the word "zumbaaa" with all the vigor and enthusiasm you can.

I am not unaware that this may seem childish; However, by saying "zumbaaa" with great

Emphasis you send to your brain a series of powerful positive signals.

Once you have mentally constructed the images, the replacement process must be done

Completely in less time than you need to say "zumbaaa", and you already have

A large, bright, sharp and colored image of how you want to be. The old image of him

You were crushed and crushed.

Open your eyes. Close them. See what needs to change. See the original image and how

Wants to change it. Zumba again. Do it five or six times, as fast as you can.

Remember: speed is essential, and also have fun doing it. What he is saying

To his brain is: Look at this, "zumbaaa", do this, look at this, "zumbaaa", do this, look

This, "zumbaaa", do this ..., until the old image produces the automatic firing

Of the new image, of the new states and, consequently, of the new behavior.

The motivational technique directed to a group of individuals must understand something

For each: something visual, something auditory and something cenestésico. You have to make them see

Things, hearing things and experiencing some sensation or impression.

And one must know how to play with voice and intonation to address the representatives

Of the three species.

A group can be supplied, as has been said, suggestions in a wide range

Where each one finds a little of what makes it work. But to fully understand

Strategies used by different people, the ideal would be to

individual. If you stand firm, if you throw your shoulders

Back and breathe deeply, with chest inspirations, and looks up (all of which

Equates to a condition of mastery of physiological resources), it can not be depressed.

Try it yourself.

Stand erect, square your shoulders, take a deep breath, move with energy.

See if you may feel depressed in that posture. You will discover that it is almost impossible.

What happens is that his physiology is sending a message of attention to the brain,

Vitality and control of resources. And that is what is done.

The same thing happens with physical exercise. When one has trained strong and stays

Without breath, if it begins to say how tired it is or how many meters it takes to travel,

Is placed in such a physiological condition (as it also occurs when sitting on the floor

Or panting) that confirms that communication.

On the other hand, if you find yourself out of breath, you make the effort to stand and

Consciously regularize the breathing until it recovers the normal rhythm, in question

For a few moments you will feel fully recovered.

The next time you see a winner, someone you admire and respect, copy

Your gestures, notice the difference and enjoy the change that will have operated on your own

Mental routine Play. Try. New options are waiting for you!

And lost self-discipline, lost the results you wanted.

Here is the second key: You must learn to overcome rejection. When I repeat this concept

In a workshop, the physiology of the listeners changes perceptibly. There will be something

In human language that hurts more than the simple word "no"?

For the one who knows the world of the sale, what is the difference between gaining 100,000

Dollars and earn 25,000? The main, learn to fit a rejection, so that the fear

It is not an obstacle to action. The best sellers are the ones who listen

More negative. They are those who know how to take a "no" and use it as a lever for

Pass to the "yes".

This is the third key to wealth and happiness: You must learn to overcome

The financial pressure. Overcoming financial pressure means

Know how to take, and know how to give, how to gain and how to save.

For a superb model of how to overcome financial pressure see the work El

Richest man in Babylon, George S. Clason. Have you read it? If so,

Read it again; Otherwise, go and buy it right away. It is a book that can

Make him rich, happy and totally willing to succeed. For me, the most important

Its teachings is the one that says that we should give away the 10 percent of all that we win.

It is true. Why? In the first place, because when one has taken something he is always forced

To return something. Another reason is that values are created for oneself and for others.

And the most important thing: tell the world and your own unconscious that you have more

Of what you need. That is a very powerful belief, and it is worth fostering. Yes to

You have enough, that means you have what you need and that others can get it

Also, and that is a belief that tends to be realized by itself.

Every year, when Thanksgiving comes, I go out to buy food for

A week and I take them to some family in need, always presenting me as a messenger

Or transporter, never as the same person who makes the gift. And I always leave a note

Saying: "Gift from someone who appreciates you and wishes you soon to be able to look

To give the same favor to others in need. " And this is where our motto applies or

Key Number Four: You must learn to overcome vanity.

Work according to a set of dynamic, active, stimulating goals that

Help to do what you want and not what others have done. There will always be someone who has

More things than you and someone who has less. None of this matters. Must be judged

In accordance with its own measure and nothing more.

And here is the last key: Always give more than you expect to receive. This maybe is

The most important, because it virtually guarantees happiness.

You can make a lot of money and own large estates or big companies. But

If you do it only for yourself, you will not be a real winner. You will not have a real

power. He will not possess true wealth. The one who reaches "the summit" alone

Is left with nothing to do, except perhaps throw himself from it.

The chemist able to extract from his heart the elements of compassion, respect, desire,

Patience, repentance, surprise and forgiveness, and of combining them into one, will have created that

Atom that is called love. KAHLIL GIBRAN

Share this information with others ... for two reasons, actually. First,

We all teach what we most need to learn. By sharing an idea with others,

We have the opportunity to hear it again and to remind ourselves what

We value and consider it important.

The other reason is that it produces an enrichment, an incredible and almost inexplicable joy

Helping someone else to introduce a truly momentous change in their lives

And positive.

Tata.

Tata.

5 Creepy Things Seen in Mirrors - Duration: 9:28.

We are all familiar with mirrors we look into them every day.

But mirrors arent just for checking your appearance or looking for cars behind you when youre

driving.

There are some creepy things things, that have been detected in mirrors.

In this video, we want to take a look at 5 creepy things that were seen in mirrors.

The story goes that in the first clip, a hotel guest was seeing strange shape in his hotel

room at night.

hen he left the evening after, he set up his camcorder to see if it actually caught anything.

A young couple also saw eerie shapes in the mirror of their master bedroom one evening.

They also set up a recorder and tried to capture anything unexplainable.

This picture was captured in Germany, in the room of Emely.

The family dog was always behaving quite odd in this room.

When her dad took a photo of the girl one day, they found this on the picture.

YouTuber FacelessKnights regularly films his haunted apartment via his Kinect Camera.

This time, once again, he could capture something that freaked him out.

A

Paranormal Investigation caught this material when setting up a camcorder in the Bristol

Historical Society.

Calming After-Dinner Tea - Duration: 5:14.

hi my name is Evgenia West and I've been studying chamomile this semester for

a critical thinking class. What I have found out is that camomile is a remarkable

herb with many uses and benefits. Some of the most common uses I've learned

about are as an anti- inflammatory, digestive, calmative, and pain reducer.

One of the less known properties of chamomile is that is can be used as an

anti-allergen .It also can be used to treat various skin conditions such as eczema

and rushes .Chamomile is also used worldwide as a natural sleeping aid .This

is partially due to the proven effect of how apigenin, a

flavonoid, present in chamomile oi,l binds with benzodiazepine receptors in a

brain. The result of which is a soothing effect .Another study on mice found that

breathing in infused chamomile oil in steam lowered the level of ACTH in the

brain .Because ACTH is tied to stress, this can be the cause of chamomile

ability to reduce anxiety.

For my calming after-dinner tea I'm going to use St. John's Wort, dried lemon balm,

dried fennel, chamomile, and lavender. So you saw my ingredients, so I'm going to mix

chamomile, lavender, and lemon balm, and fennel, and instead of oatstraw,

which is in original recipe, I bought on St. John's Wort because it has similar

properties to oatstraw which is stress reducing properties and I'm going to mix

it in this teapot.

so my kind of infuser is really smal,l it's really hard to put water because

the herbs are keep spilling out so I'm going to put just a little bit of water

about one cup and I'll I'll let it sit for 20 minutes. And while it's cooking

I'm going to tell you one of the favorite myths I read about it.

so there are myths that chemical can be used to ward off nightmares. And my

favorite story from the folklore is how chamomile was used in witchcraft in

spells used for affection, love, and money some people even believe that by putting

chamomile in your wall you can attract money. When I was little my grandma told

me that when she was young she and her sister used to play game called "He

Loves Me He Loves Me Not" where by picking each of the camomile's

petal you need to say "He Loves Me He Loves Me Not"

in the last petal I will tell you someone you love, loves you back or not!

So I think our tea is ready and it's been 20 minutes so I'm going to put it

in a cup.

Smells really really good, and try it!

Hmm definitely tastes like a herbal tea and it tastes really good.

Growing up and never really appreciated the herbal teas,

chamomile being one of them, that my grandma used to treat me with. My own

opinion about chamomile is that it does work as a good sleeping aid. I have used

it for myself for the past few weeks because I had trouble falling asleep in

time, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone experiencing insomnia or

trouble sleeping. So do try this recipe at a home, it tastes really good and I'm

sure it's going to work for whatever reason you want to try chamomile. Thank

you for watching and hope you enjoyed it!

Wonder Woman Review - Duration: 4:34.

G'day.

I'm Adam David Collings, and today, I'm talking about Wonder Woman, Directed by Patty

Jenkins and written by Allan Heinberg, Zack Snyder and Jason Fuchs

My wife and I had both been looking forward to this one for some time.

We made a special night of it.

Had a trip away without the kids and saw it on the big CMAX screen and Devonport.

We weren't disappointed.

Wonder Woman was everything we hoped for and more.

I really like the idea of period superhero movies.

I can only think of a few examples.

There's The Roketeer, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and of course, Captain America

The First Avenger.

I'd like to think we'll be seeing more of this subgenre in the future.

I loved how Wonder Woman was set during the first world war.

World War 2 has kinda been done to death, so this was refreshing.

Plus, it's currently the centenary of world war 1, so it's topical.

I loved the secret history aspect to the story.

They tied real world history into elements of Greek mythology, but not in a way that

lessens the true history in any way.

I really enjoyed the performances of both Gal Gadot and Chris Pine.

In Batman V Superman, we saw Wonder Woman as an extremely confidant character.

In this movie, we see her grow from a vulnerable and naive person.

She starts off from a place of great innocence.

That journey was a delight to witness, and Gadot played it well.

The story was strong.

There was plenty of depth to it, just as I have come to expect from a DC Extended Universe

film.

There were some interesting theological themes you could pull out and discuss.

There were moments of triumph and heartbreak.

Some very intense drama, mixed with action and a touch of romance.

I liked how the humour in the film came naturally out of the characters, mostly from Dianna

being in a very unfamiliar world, and not knowing quite how to fit in.

The humour didn't get in the way of the story.

The movie had a strong villain.

As with General Zod, in Man of Steel, this character was the hero of his own story, and

yet evil to the core.

The conflict between Wonder Woman and Ares is at it's heart - a clash of ideology.

There was a little present-day framing story, which is a nice little bit of continuity if

you're familiar with Batman V Superman, but it doesn't get in the way if you haven't

seen that film.

The visuals were fantastic.

I loved the shots of Themyscira, and the contrast with the grottyness of Early 1900s London,

and the horrors of the Western Front.

There was a fun collection of supporting characters.

Each of Wonder Woman's companions, on her mission, brought something meaningful and

human to the experience.

I have to say it was bold of Hollywood to make a superhero movie that doesn't take

place in America - not one frame.

I applaud them for that.

It shows a global awareness which isn't always common in American Entertainment, and

made sense for the story being told.

So, my wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this movie, and the two and

a half hours rushed by.

It certainly didn't feel anywhere near that long.

For me, I place Wonder Woman right up there with Man of Steel, as one of the best superhero

movies of our time.

If you enjoy adventure films that engage the mind as well as the adrenal gland, then you'll

love Wonder Woman.

Go check it out.

Thanks for watching.

How To Stop Caring What Other People Think Of You At Work ✓ - Duration: 13:05.

This week's video is on the soft skills side.

Starting from next week, we'll talk about more hard skills, like; Project management,

risk management, strategy development.

But this week, I will have to shed some light on a problem that most of you suffer from.

And that is the fact that; at work; you care too much of what other people think of you.

This phenomenon sometimes results in you losing your happiness, you losing your "will"

your fighting power to do your best, or sometimes it makes you lose your job.

Your human pleasing tendencies got to a stage that dictates your psychology and your performance

at work.

If somebody praises you, you feel great.

And if they god forbid they criticize you, then you feel horrible.

Your day is ruined.

If that is you, then stick around a bit more; because in this video, we are gonna cure you

of your human pleasing tendencies and make you immune to a criticism at work.

Let's first talk about why this is happening.

Why you are obsessed with people pleasing and why it wrecks your life when somebody

doesn't like you or what you do.

Why you are happy when you get praises and discouraged when you get criticism at work.

In your mind, you have created this mental image of how you perceive yourself, of who

you are, what you are capable of, what you can achieve.

This is not a problem.

We all construct that image of who we are.

But, the problem is; you are constantly looking for validation of that image.

You want proof that your image is accurate.

You want this proof to come from your team members, your managers, from your subordinates.

You are dependent on the opinion of others.

And that's where you make the mistake.

Your perception of yourself is independent of how they perceive you are.

I'll explain this a bit more.

There isn't a single perception of a person that unites all the viewpoints.

And that's what you need to accept if you want to lead a happier career.

I can go out on the street right now and ask 10 different people of what they think of

one of the greatest leaders in our time Barack Obama.

I am confident I'll receive 10 different perceptions of himself.

Some will think he was a great leader, fought for the good of humanity, equal rights, and

some will think he was a weak leader who sold the country to banksters.

So, what is the key takeaway?

The key takeaway is that the moment you realize that your perception of yourself is independent

from what people think of you, then you will realize that there is simply

no reason to look for validation of that perception from those around you.

Hmm..

Did you get this?

I'll repeat; Once you realize that your perception of yourself,

your mental image is independent from what people think of you, then you will

realize it is silly to look for a validation of that

perception.

So, what's the solution; The solution isn't very simple.

And it'll take me about 5 minutes to explain it.

So, please be patient.

You need to start feeling confident of who you are and who you can be at work.

You are like a river.

With praises and criticism you go a little west a little east, but you still go towards

the ocean.

A river doesn't stop because it encountered a mountain.

It goes around it.

A person who is truly grounded with himself or herself doesn't really need feedback.

positive or negative.

Because you should already know your weaknesses and strengths.

You already know your capabilities and your potential.

Once you reach that level of self-realization at work, you will quickly find that the feedback

you receive from your managers and subordinates are pretty much useless or redundant because

you should already know them in advance.

That's how you create a powerful life.

You have to become your biggest support but also your biggest critique.

I'll quote Richard Feynman here; "The first principle is that you must not

fool yourself – and you are the easiest person to fool".

You'll understand me a lot better once you start reaching your self-realization.

Hopefully soon.

Once you are there, you'll realize for yourself that 9 out 10 feedback you receive are completely

useless or redundant.

With this approach, maybe you will potentially miss out on that 1 valuable feedback that

you weren't aware of.

But, at least, you are saving yourself the distraction that comes from 9 useless ones.

It's a trade-off.

It's a decision you need to make.

Praise and critism are both problems for you.

Look there are 2 routes you can take, Route A is my way.

Be grounded enough so you are not affected by either the critics or the praises.

You are grounded.

You truly know who you are.

And you try to do better everytime.

Route B is, live your life affected by the praises and criticism.

And I know receiving a praise feels awesome.

Even if it's temporary, it feels great.

Your brain releases Dopamine.

You feel happy.

But at the same time, be prepared to receive a stress hormone; cortisol when somebody critizes

you.

You can't pick and choose which hormones you want.

Once you open that door, it's a very distracting game.

You either completely ignore them both.

Or you be prepared to get distracted and sometimes emotionally wrecked by critiques.

I choose Route A. I choose independence.

No one around me at work, can have such a power over me.

Now, the counter argument you can present to my stand is that hey I love my life.

I get a lot of praises everyday at work.

I am awesome.

I have a brilliant career.

Then, I would say, it's probably time for you to step up then.

It means you have outgrown your role or even your employer.

If all the feedback you get are positive ones, the praises, then you are a league below where

you should be.

You put AC Milan or FC Barcelona in an amateur's league all they'll receive is praises.

They'll win the championship without a single loss.

So, if that's you, I guarantee you that it's not sustainable.

There'll come a time in your career when you are challenged to your bits and you'll

receive more criticism than praises.

Maybe you'll have to change your employer, a new manager will come…

Who knows… or another possibility is that…

you will lose your skills.

You know there is a saying "Who you spend time with is who you become".

One way or another it's not sustainable.

And when that happens, it will destroy your phsychology.

Because all those years, you have conditioned yourself to get your energy and motivation

from positive feedback.

You have conditioned your subconscious mind to value feedback.

Of course you would, it's all positive.

Why wouldn't you?

So, it must be true.

And that's exactly why you'll be a total mess when the tide turns.

I see this a lot.

Whenever we get a new member to our team at PwC Consulting, if that person is joining

from a non-management consulting background.

He is wrecked.

The level of intensity we play is not comparable to anything out there.

So, in all their lives, they achieved amazing things with their former employers, be it

P&G, Unilever, Goldman Sachs, Google.

They achieved a lot and they received nothing but praises.

So, they got used to it.

They join a consulting firm, and their life turns upside down.

Most of them don't even survive the first year.

I've seen men in their 50s crying out loud, in the middle of our office.

The guy was a former VP in Google.

So, what's the solution to this.

How do I solve this problem?

You need to come to a self-realization right now.

You need to acknowledge that the current strategy you are using, the strategy of seeking validation

of your self-image is a crappy strategy.

And it's time to get rid of it.

You need to acknowledge that the happiness that comes from receiving praises, is also

the very reason why you feel sad when you receive criticism.

If you train yourself not to be happy with the unwanted praises, then only will you be

able to become immune to the emotional wreck that comes with critism.

You can't have it both ways.

You can't just be happy with praises and not be sad with criticism.

You don't need praise to keep on going and exceling in your life.

If I needed praise, I would have never developed LIG, the most powerful career transformation

program in the world.

if I needed praise or if I paid attention to all the critiques, LIG would never exist

and would never have transformed over 1,000 careers, and lives.

And now looking back, I consider that the biggest achievement of my life- not being

a manager with PwC, a decade of management consulting experience, or my fancy MBA degree.

No.

This video is getting really long.

But if you have time, I want to talk about one final topic.

The remaining of the video will be of extra interest to those of you who are more analytical

than intuitive.

The worst kind of feedback that I reject at all costs is the ones that I receive after

every single client presentation.

In your case, it may be a sales pitch if you are in sales, or developing reports, handling

meetings, something that you do very often.

So, the reason for that has to do with a concept called Regression To The Mean.

What it is is that a phenomenon that if a variable is extreme on its first measurement,

it will tend to be closer to the average on its second measurement.

Or in more simple terms, it is a technical way of saying that things tend to even out

over time.

For example, you deliver a great presentation today.

That means you probably won't be able to repeat it again tomorrow.

It doesn't mean all of a sudden you forgot how to deliver presentations.

It's just the natural progression of how things work.

Things always work in volatility.

Random chance plays a huge role in everything we do.

You always fall back towards your mean average.

if you do horrible today, then you'll likely do a lot better tomorrow.

So, receiving a praise or critism for every single one of your presentations is ineffective

at best or detrimental at worst.

Knowing what to do or what not to do is very different than being able to do it at such

high quality, all the time.

I see this all the time.

Majority of employees in today's corporates are Agreeable-Givers.

What does this even mean?

Giving and taking is the back of our motives, right?

What are your intentions toward other people?

Do you want them to succeed or do you want to them to fail.

And being agreeable is also great.

It's just about pleasing other people.

Being in harmony and getting along all the time without confrontations.

But being highly agreeable as a giver is a curse.

Befcaue you end up becoming a push over.

Everyone expects you to not just listen to them but implement all their suggestions and

feedback.

And that my friends are the easiest way you can screw up a career.

This is especially horrible if you are in managerial positions.

My advice to you is to become more of a disagreeable giver.

Meaning, you still hold the best intentions for other people around you, be it your boss

or your subordinates, thrive to make them successful but at the same time be disagreeable.

Somebody comes up to you with feedback, or suggestions.

Be prepared to reject that suggestion.

So, final thoughts; a person who is truly grounded is the biggest

praiser and the biggest critique of himself If you can achieve this, then everyone else

at work becomes "just another ordinary human being.

And that's when you start becoming an extraordinary human being"…

And you start leading a lot happier life as you'll be a lot happier at work.

This video is done.

FRENCH URBEX #UNTOUCHED MANSION #The maire's house! - Duration: 3:34.

Hi everyone! So today we're visiting a very old mansion in downtown Agen (France).

Probably built in the early 1800.

And in 1858 it became the first house of "Little sisters of the poor", a religions association that now is more than 150 years old.

They stayed in this house until 2006 to help old people.

As you will see the mansion has a large courtyard closed by a large wall which is why I needed a grappling hook...

Sadly as I had to climb and be very discreet I couldn't carry any filming lights so the inside will be quite dark. Sorry for the mediocre quality...

Little anecdote: the last owner of this mansion was the maire of Agen...

Sadly as the house has been inhabited and for sale many times, it's mainly empty except for that big safe that I found.

It seems to have been here for ever end to my opinion they couldn't get it out due to the weight.

It was closed...

I got in late in the evening for discretion by when I got out it was already dark which made the climb more difficult. I still managed to get out.

An overall interesting exploration. Mainly a beautiful underground, some old wallpapers, decors, chimneys... the safe was a cool touch.

Well if you like what you see make sure to subscribe, leave like and a comment it's always welcome!
