Hi LEGO fans! We're coming at you with something a little bit different today.
This is the first time we've reviewed a LEGO Elves set, set number
41183, The Goblin King's Evil Dragon with how many pieces
Megan 339 we're going to be unboxing speed building and reviewing this set
today so what possesses a grown man to walk into the Lego store and buy Lego
elves set maybe for me no not for you it's because we've got the Goblin King
David Bowie himself from labyrinth okay so maybe this set isn't based on our
favorite rock and roll star but it looks pretty cool doesn't it Megan laughs so
Megan's going to be helping me with this review today Megan what do you like
about Lego elves sets they're in every set they have some sort of dragon big or
small in it okay cool and we certainly get a dragon in here
this is the the Goblin King's evil dragon and he looks awesome
cool so let's flip the box over and see what we get inside
clearly I'm Way too old to be the target audience for this set so I'm going to
Megan talk you through what she sees on the back of the box
okay so let's first look at a lot of things the Goblin King's evil sidekick
now this is Jim Blinn and he's a goblin so this is the Goblin King and you can't
be respected Goblin King without a evil sidekick called Kinlan and by lots of
things he has a evil sidekick card which tells him where the hidden gems are so
it's not only gem I'm gonna steal these amazing gems is he going to imprison
this adorable harmless baby bear cool well it seems like we've got a lot of
fun stuff going on inside this box shall we get it open and see what's inside
yeah awesome don't try this at home kids
come on out there we go let's see how many bags we have in the set and it
looks like worth three bag set okay so it looks like we have two instruction
manuals here and of course the dreaded stickers I'm not pointing out the
instruction manual meg hmm okay so it looks like these amazing
dragon wing elements so yes it does look like we've got two instruction booklets
here which is quite unusual one we already got three bags of Lego so I
think we should go ahead and get this built Megan don't you yes I do
and we're going to do a 30 second speed build
and here's a completed build so you built this Megan how did you enjoy the
build process I really love this set I think it's a really good bill that's got
lots of details in it cool now I heard a little story about the Goblin King and
at his senior prom he danced the magic dance I think my favorite piece of the
set has to be the Goblin King's evil dragon how was he to build Megan he was
very interesting but the legs of the dragon were pretty hard to build they
were yeah we had to tweak a couple of pieces to make them stay on but I think
the end result is superb you did a great job I think we should take a look at the
minifigures first and then we'll take a look at the individual parts of the set
in a little bit more detail yeah awesome so first up this is jumbling he is the
Goblin King's evil sidekick and he's a nicely printed little character but I
don't think he really qualifies as a minifigure or mini doll because he is
one solid piece of plastic with no articulation what do you make of this
little guy Megan I don't think he's one of the best minifigures ever but I guess
he's a good accessory to the set yeah he's pretty cool he's got some nice
printing and I also notice that he's got a little hole on the back of his head
which is never a good thing really but I suppose if you wanted to put a bow in
his hair that might come in quite useful and here's mama and baby bear these are
very cute little characters again not minifigures these are more like animals
forgive me for turning them upside down no printing on the back but we have some
beautiful print on the front including on the face there you can see both bears
have got printing on the face what did you make of these guys Megan I think I
really liked the mama bear I think the baby bear kind of looks like a squirrel
it just doesn't it yeah with his little arms at the front
there you're just imagining munching on a nut so here these are very cool but
that is I'm mama bear and baby squirrel here's the goblin king and he's a cool
little mini doll he comes with this simple staff which is constructed from
looks like a Lego Ariel and a stood and a crystal which is simple but does the
job and he's got some really cool printing Lego
used the gold printing on the front of his torso and on the front of his legs
there and we can actually see the symbol on his chest
that is replicated on the crown up here and if we go back to Jim Blinn thanks
Megan you actually see he's got the same symbol on here and we do see this symbol
again on the dragon which we'll show you in just a short while so yeah he's a
very cool minifigure he comes with this beautiful purple and red cape which is
made of a nice soft material feels great and he's also got some side printing on
his arms there he's got this tattoo and then we've got this headpiece and if we
take this off oh my gosh he's got no ears but yeah so as a nice kind of
molded headpiece it's a hard plastic not a soft plastic as you might have
expected and he's got a great expression like the other mini dolls no expression
on the back so what do you think to the goblin king Megan I really liked the way
they incorporated his ears onto the hairpiece and I love his tattoo on his
arm cool and that's our goblin king so this
is an awesome colorful little scene meg and what do you think is going on here
so Jim Rijn has a map to help him with a hidden gems are in his hand but I think
is not his property I think it's a Barris property so he's captured a baby
bear to help him get through to the hidden gems and now that Jim blings
found out where the Bears are hiding their treasure I think he's got a
dastardly plan with some dynamite can you show us what that's going to do of
course so it's very simple and do is press the sign right and boom now
you can see the hidden treasure children has been looking for and here's the
Goblin King's evil dragon and it is a most impressive Lego build we have the
same symbol on the seat of the Dragon that we had on the Goblin King's chest
and on his ground and on Jim Lin's belt and as you can see the evil dragon has a
seat for the Goblin King and you can go on just like this I need to have to be
really careful as there's no safety belt on the dragon I was thinking the same
thing so what are your favorite aspects of the evil dragon Megan I like the
Trident on the tail and these amazing dragon wing elements the tail is pretty
awesome now I thought this was going to be just warm Lego element but it's
actually made up of several different elements as you can see here so here is
a close-up of the dragon's head and it's made up of multiple pieces including
this red piece for a dragon's tongue and it's got wonderful printing for the eyes
I just love the head it was very cool yeah I'm particularly I was printing
here with the almost tribal features around it and I think it's really cool
that they've put a little tongue in there which is one of these 1 by 1 studs
with a little flange on it there and also like the the horns for the dragon
around the back here you can see we've got some gold elements and some some of
these either horn or tooth element that's altogether a very cool looking
evil dragon so here is a close-up of the dragon's wing and it's molded from
several different colors of plastic I think it almost gives it a tie-dye
effect so here's a quick view of the underside the underbelly of the dragon
and I really like the way Lego views complementary colors here with the red
and the purple and if we take a look at the legs you can actually see these are
articulated so that we can pose the dragon in several different ways and
then we have these articulated claw so we could almost stand him on the edge
of a bookshelf and curlies course over the edge so that was set number four one
one eight three the Goblin King's evil dragon from Lego elves so what's your
favorite part of this set Megan I loved it all but I particularly liked building
the dragon cool so thank you for joining us today for this unboxing speed build
