I don't really feel my world is any darker now.
Super chill.
Hi, I'm Nellie. -And I'm Rens.
And welcome... -In our Drugslab.
There are all kinds of drugs in the world. We take them to see what they do to us.
Yes, so you don't have to.
Curious about a drug? Let us know and maybe we'll try it.
And OnChords, Pablo and Tinus were very curious about 2C-E.
This is our 2C-E. It's a powder and has the familiar wall colour: off-white.
2C-E belongs to the 2C family, just like 2C-B.
But 2C-E is a little stronger and more intense than 2C-B.
They say it can make you see darker colours and also have darker feelings.
While I've also read that people say it made them euphoric and they loved it.
It's hard to predict, because everyone reacts differently.
So it's very hard to say in advance what it will do to you.
But I think it does make for a lot of feelings.
And it's very important that you don't take too big a dose.
Everyone who thought they'd just go for it ended up having a bad trip.
That's very intense, so start with moderation.
It's also harder to control than 2C-B.
You just have to go with the flow and it very much depends on how you feel.
How do you feel? -I feel good.
I've been living very healthily.
We'll see. You're going to take it. -Yes.
Okay, the belt is on. Base temperature is 37.1.
And 112 BPM.
I just don't know what to expect. I've taken truffles, I've taken 2C-B.
It's a bit daunting, because I like to keep control.
And this does make you space out and see colours. I'm pretty nervous.
You can put 2C-E in a capsule and swallow it.
Or you can snort it, but we advise against it, as it's very painful and rather unpredictable.
But the most common way is to mix it with water and drink it.
So that's how you'll do it.
With 2C-E the dosage has to be very precise.
A light dosage is 5-10 mg, a bit heavier one 5-15...
and a really strong dosage is 15-30 mg.
But we seriously advise against it, especially if you're new to this drug.
A low dosage is a bit like XTC, while a high dosage is more like LSD.
And with snorting the dosages are different again, but don't do that.
I'm going for 10 mg. -Especially since it's your first time.
You don't know what to expect. You've done 2C-B, but that's different.
It starts working after 20-90 minutes.
But there are people who were tripping for 14 hours. Albeit with a high dosage...
but still... -That's really long.
Yes, it is. -10 mg. Let's weigh it off.
Our 2C-E has been tested and has been found to be pure 2C-E.
They also tested it for other substances, but didn't find any.
The dosage depends on that and also on your prior experience.
In the water. It's really little, isn't it? -Yes.
Of course you shouldn't mix it with alcohol or with other drugs.
Combining is never a good idea.
Well, to a very pleasant trip. Cheers.
I don't taste anything. No.
What happens now is that the active substance...
2,5-dimethoxy-4-ethylphenethylamine...
binds to your 5-HT receptors, which modulate the release of serotonin.
2C-B also binds to those receptors, but with a different effect.
Those receptors influence your mood, your sleep, your appetite...
your sexual... -State, whether you're in the mood.
Unlike MDMA, it doesn't deplete your serotonin.
No, exactly. -So that's nice.
But it can go any which way. It can give you a lot of confidence...
or very little, make you very horny or not at all.
But it does play with your mind.
What is very common are closed-eye and open-eye visuals.
So my perception will probably be altered.
There's always a chance of a bad trip, of course.
The more you take, the bigger that chance.
A bad trip means you get frightened because you can't control your thoughts.
You enter a negative, fearful spiral and that's no fun.
If someone has a bad trip, it's important that the trip sitter puts that person at ease.
It's been 90 minutes. You're rubbing your arm.
What's going on? -It feels a bit heavy.
And I feel these little pricks. Also on the top of my head.
I do feel chill.
Are you really tripping now? -No.
Do I look like I am? -I don't know what you see or feel.
I'm not really sure. My vision is starting to go a little...
It looks as if it's breathing slightly, as if it's all going like...
Like you had on 2C-B, with your hands. -But my hands don't look weird right now.
I am very Zen. Very peaceful. I do hear a lot of things.
I hear every sound very clearly. I also clearly hear myself talking.
But visually nothing's happening, really.
I've tripped before and I know how you can have open-eye and closed-eye visuals.
And this isn't like that. But I do feel these pricks in my head.
That doesn't sound nice. -No.
Does this make a difference?
Does it feel different? -No.
You're still all there, right? -Yes.
You're still in this world. -Absolutely.
Not much is happening.
The lights are really bright.
They say that with 2C-E you get to see darker colours.
I don't really feel my world is any darker now.
Having a nice trip?
No. Nothing happens.
Bummer. -Yes, I was really looking forward to it.
Me too. -You're all in the mood...
I just wanted to have a nice trip.
I know I have to reconcile myself to it.
Just say: okay, it doesn't work, period. Next time I'll take some more.
And yet I think: can't I just take some more? Maybe it will work.
We're not going to do that. -I know, it won't work.
No, it won't make you trip, it will only increase the risks.
Your basic functions such as your blood pressure and heart rate will go up further.
And that's dangerous. -That's how people end up in hospital.
But now I know that the next time I try this, I'll probably need a little more.
The reason taking more is useless is that you build up tolerance right away.
So either you're on right away, but it's pointless to take more afterwards.
Or it should be in such large quantities that it makes no sense anymore.
Because that's dangerous.
I can imagine that if you're with friends or at a festival...
and you're the one who doesn't get off... -You're bummed.
So then you run the risks of saying: I'll take anything I can find, I want to trip.
But we just have to accept it. -It's fine like this.
We got the dosage right, it's been tested. It's a lesson for me as well.
I've never had something not work, but now I have to accept it.
Not much research has been done on 2C-E and its effects.
So don't experiment with it.
Now I do have the unpleasant physical effects.
I'm a bit nauseous, I feel these pinpricks in my head.
My arm is a bit limp.
If I were to take more, those effects would just get worse.
I'd get more nauseous and my heart rate and blood pressure would go up.
That doesn't feel right.
That's the thing with drugs. One time you have a great trip...
the next time you may have a bad trip. Or it doesn't work at all.
Like today.
I'm bummed now. I wonder how I'll feel about it tomorrow.
You know what's funny? First I thought: shit, for my body this was just too little.
I'm a really strong woman, of course.
No, but it can just happen.
But actually I felt super chill and Zen all evening.
Very aware, and I really felt like doing things.
I felt like painting and making beautiful things.
I slept really well and I woke up with the same feeling.
Very aware and relaxed. I feel as if I've microdosed.
It's also just good to reconcile yourself to the fact...
that something may not have been really intense.
I'd like to try it again, of course, and then a little more.
It did do something to me, so I'm curious what more it can do with your mind.
We also have our personal Instagram...
for if you want to know what else we do besides Drugslab.
And Drugslab BNN has its own Instagram account, so make sure to follow us.
And if you want to try 2C-E, check the do's and don'ts video.
It may be a much more intense experience, as it differs per person.
Okay, lots of love and see you next week.
