are made in China, I think it's ridiculous are the quality worse than

the Swedish built Volvos, well Volvo has been a problem company for years I mean Ford

had affiliations, they originally made really solid cars they've had problems

over the years if they're building them in China here's the thing, the Chinese

newer cars they're built in almost totally automated factories, I know a guy

who runs one over there and he said their main problem is, the labor costs

because since the machines make most of the stuff, the guys that are there are

engineers and have to be able to fix the computer robots that build them

cuz they run them 365 days 24 hours they have a pretty high labor cost there's

less people to pay but they have to be engineers, so they might not be badly

made, but I can guarantee you the future is going that way unless people put

import taxes or something on them because it's so much cheaper to make

them in China that everybody's going to go that way, they used to move in Mexico and

they didn't have quality problems there but from what I read about the newer

Chinese factories that make cars, their pretty high tech, Rotas says Scotty is

a 2011 Nissan Cube standard transmission a good car, I found one for sale with 110,000

miles for 3500 bucks I'm not a Nissan fan by any stretch of the imagination

anymore, since Renault took over for that price and it's a standard transmission

because they have crampy automatic transmission it could be a decent

vehicle, even then still do like I say have a mechanic check it out

cuz once we hook up our scan tools like this, hey we can find if there's any

serious problems with the vehicle and hey it could last a long time you know if

you don't mind the looks, obviously you're look at them, I think those

cubes are just bizarre looking vehicles but hey, to each his own if you

like it and the mechanic says it's good, what the heck why not cuz it's a

standard transmission, Mike says Scotty what's you take if I restored a Toyota

fj40 Land Cruiser oh yeah those things can run forever

and people love them you can always sell them on, people like driving those things

around, just if you don't mind having a vehicle that is an absolute gas hog those

the near future, yeah well the manual transmissions

those things can be fun and you want to research your model though because each

model has values radically different than others, but always research

different year Corvettes and what they go for and how rare they are

before you plunk out any money, now since it's so old, you can't check them with

computers but I would still advise having a mechanic check it out first

just to drive it around, bring his gauges and check out a few things so you're not

getting ripped off, unless you're buying one really cheap and you're gonna fix it up,

put technology those things and put out a lot of horsepower, man they're fun to

ones, I only like the old guys the new one is garbage but the old guys were really funny

they had the Italian Alfa Romeo and the one guy said, hey I'd rather get the

Mazda Miata it's more fun to drive and you know you can buy three of them for

the price of one of the Alfa Romeos and it's gonna outlast them and never break

down you know, if you got a lot of money and want a fancy sports car to zip

around in go ahead and get one they're fun, but you lose your money and they

fall apart cost a fortune to fix and here in the United States hardly anybody

knows how to work on Alfa Romeos too, so if you never want to miss another one of

October in Our Hot Pepper Garden: First Frost Coming Soon? - Duration: 7:10.

Welcome to 7 Pot Club. I'm Rob.

🎵I grow hot peppers 🎵

It's a warm October day in Minneapolis, and based on the extended weather forecast,

probably the last day I'll be wearing shorts in 2018. These hot pepper plants are living

on borrowed time. There was a frost warning last weekend, but it only got down to 36ºF

and the plants are still hanging in there. Hard to believe it was just two weeks ago

that Cat picked, and I tasted, such beautiful examples of my 7 favorite red hot peppers.

Today, we'll take a look at these varieties and see how the plants are holding up so late

in the season. Then, since there's no point in waiting until the last minute, we'll

start decommissioning plants that have reached the end of their useful life. We'll also

take a look at something fun I got in the mail last week. But first, we'll say goodbye

to summer with a reprise of a song I originally sang right here in the front yard.

Let's get started.

🎵Many like to recreate 🎵 🎵In a boat out on the lake 🎵

🎵But others would prefer to take 🎵 🎵A walk along the shoreline 🎵

🎵I could move to a different state 🎵 🎵Where it's like this on every date 🎵

🎵But then would I appreciate 🎵 🎵The fleeting days of summer 🎵

🎵It's summer and it's time to hit the beach 🎵

🎵Roast an ear of corn or eat a peach 🎵 🎵It's summer and sometimes it almost hurts 🎵

🎵Eating what we planted in the dirt 🎵

🎵It's summer and we're having so much fun 🎵

I want to show you how outdoor plants fare here in Minnesota when temps start dropping,

but before the first hard frost puts a complete end to the pepper party. So let's focus

on the varieties featured in our last tasting video.

We've got a few of these Habanero Vietnam plants, all in pots. As you can see, this

plant still has a lot of pods in various stages of ripening.

Next up, Red Savina. Another week or two is definitely going to increase our yield of

these super tasty super habs.

Spotlight on Trinidad Scorpion Butch T. Still producing. It could be my imagination, but

I detect that most late season peppers, especially superhots, are a little mellower and have

an earthier flavor.

We only grew one 7 Pot Barrackpore this season, and this is it. It's completely played out,

with just three remaining pods. They're tiny and immature, and will never ripen in

time. This one's going straight to compost. Thank you for your service.

However, here's a very similar 7 Pot Chaguanas, still going strong, with some beautiful fruit

that deserves a chance to fully ripen.

Bird Aji is one of the varieties that seems to thrive in cooler weather. They're still

ripening daily, but they're also delicious green. That's good, because there are way

too many to ripen before first frost. Take a look at the Bird Aji planted in the ground.

It's enormous, and covered in fruit. Hope we can find more room in the freezer.

It's been an incredible year for Carolina Reapers. Although they don't approve of

the change in weather, they're not ready to give up yet. This pot is also home to a

companion portulaca, or moss rose, which is completely played out. Still a few flowers

on this one in a nearby pot, but their season is long over.

We have several large reaper plants in the ground. When frost is imminent, we might try

hanging a couple of these plants upside down in the basement to see if it will spur ripening

of more fruit.

Finally, Mata Frade, my #1 favorite red hot pepper — still delivering the goods. I noticed

you can see damage on the leaves from back on Memorial Day. That's when it was 100ºF

and the young plants became severely dehydrated, shriveled up, and nearly died. Again, we have

a vigorous and much larger plant in the ground, also still producing.

I could go on for hours showing you late season ripening, like Yellow Fire and 7 Pot

Primo Orange.

How about this rare Dragon's Breath, Britain's contender for world's hottest pepper.

Lastly, check out the exotic Mini Rocoto Brown, another pepper that enjoys cool weather. It's

still flowering.

Maybe we in denial, but we're not quite ready to say goodbye to our beautiful 2018

hot pepper garden. There are still a few more days before the inevitable end.

Lastly, here's the envelope I got in the mail recently from gardening guru and my favorite

YouTube creator, Khang Starr. Inside were seeds for five of the unique varieties he's

developed. Starracha Hornet, Starrracha Pumpkin, Texas Crimson Bonnet, Scarlet Rose, and Lemon

Starburst. We may be planting some of these very soon as part of our first experiment with

indoor hydroponics. Thanks Khang!
