Youtube daily report w Oct 6 2018

Before we start talking about possibly the world's unluckiest man, let's first ask

why people get hit by lighting.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration tells us that lightning will hit the tallest

object with a positive charge from the negatively-charged cloud where it begins.

So, maybe the worst thing you could do would be to stand in a swimming pool during a thunderstorm

holding a very tall metal rod.

Lighting often hits trees, but in a wide-open space such as a golf course, it could be you.

That happened not long ago to a British woman on holiday in Turkey.

She got hit and died 12 days later from cardiac arrest.

People often do survive lightning strikes though, such as the guy we'll be talking

about today, in this episode of the Infographics Show, What Happened to The Man Who Got Hit

by Lightning 7 Times!?

Let's first ask what chance is there of being hit by lightning and what will likely

happen to you if you do get hit.

There is data available regarding exactly how many lightning deaths there are year-by-year

in each country.

According to the National Lightning Safety Institute, if you are Mexican, beware.

That data tells us that Mexico is way out in front of lightning deaths, with 223 last

time they did the count.

Thailand was second at 171 deaths, South Africa third with 150 deaths and Brazil fourth with

132 deaths.

Then there's a big drop off to Romania, in fifth place at 75 deaths.

The USA is quite high, in ninth place with 50 deaths.

Perhaps data wasn't available in many countries, but according to that report most of the world

sees no lightning strike deaths each year, but in most countries people will be hit.

If you come from the USA you have a 1 in 171,000 chance of being hit, which might be long odds

but not that long.

That is just one year, though, if you live until you are 80 and are American your chance

of being hit is around 1 in 14,600, according to the National Weather Service.

By comparison, CNBC said that the odds for winning the Powerball grand prize is about

1 in 292.2 million.

1 in 171,000 for this year might not quite give you peace of mind, and if you are Mexican

or Thai we suggest you stay off the golf course on a stormy day.

But what is the chance of instant death if you do get hit?

Well, 90 percent of folks that are unfortunate enough to be the recipient of a lightning

strike actually survive.

All is not lost, except perhaps a bit of hair and some brain function.

Yes, that's the worst part.

Lighting can carry up to one billion volts of electricity, and if that smacks you when

travelling at an average speed of 200,000 mph (300,000 kph) it's bound to have a profound

effect under the hood, so to speak.

Experts tell us that the good news is people are very, very rarely hit by a direct strike.

You might also pick up the phone and get a blast to head as the lightning travels to

you, and this is called a "contact strike", but one of those is not surprisingly super

rare too.

Most of time when people are hit by lightning what we actually mean is that the lighting

hit something and then the current travelled to you.

For instance, if the lighting hit the ground anywhere as far as 60 feet away you could

literally get the shock of your life.

It might hit the ground, travel to you, go up one leg and down another, all the while

stopping your heart and lungs from functioning.

The more power that goes through you, the more likely you are to die or suffer some

serious damage.

You might even get what's called a "side splash", which means the lightning jumps

from an object and onto you.

That object could even be your friend, which was a particularly distressing fact for the

star of today's show.

Let's say you do survive- what are the odds of coming out of it smiling?

Well, it's likely that strike will change you.

The nerve damage could have an effect on your memory, your personality, or it might give

you regular headaches or even epilepsy.

One guy who got hit told American media, "I know for a fact that people think I'm really

weird."

He was a changed man.

If that isn't bad enough, the strike itself can severely burn you.

With all this in mind, how on Earth did someone survive 7 strikes?

His name was Roy Sullivan, and he died in 1983 at the ripe old age of 71.

The former U.S park ranger has a place in the Guinness Book of Records for most hits

by lightning.

His nickname was the, "Human Lightning Conductor."

When you hear that, it's kinda funny.

It's even more amusing that many of his friends stopped hanging out with him outside

because of their perceived risk of being hit while near him.

The least funny part of the tale is that when he was lying in bed next to his fourth wife

he shot himself in the head.

That was the end of old Roy, and his 41-year old wife had to deal with the mess.

It seems nature couldn't get this guy, and he got himself in the end.

Roy was first hit in 1942, and suffered burns but no brain damage.

You see, his job meant working in the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, and as we know

such places can be dangerous places to be during thunderstorms.

It wouldn't be until 1969 until he was hit for a second time, and that time he was driving

in his truck.

The lightning hit the truck and knocked poor Roy unconscious, but all he suffered were

injuries to his vanity.

The strike took his hair, eyebrows and eyelashes.

He was hit again a year later, and he just brushed that one off.

In '72 he was hit again, and again went the hair.

As you can well imagine by this point Roy was getting rather paranoid.

Let's hope he wasn't taking any of that LSD that was everywhere in those days.

He started to think that some kind of powerful force was out to get him, and so stayed away

from crowds just in case he provoked the wrath of this mighty lighting-God again and others

got hurt.

On a more practical level he started carrying around a can of water, likely a bit ruffled

by the fact he been made bald against his will on two occasions.

The hippy era had not been very loving for this man, and things were about to get even

worse.

In '73 Pink Floyd released "The Dark Side of the Moon", which is perhaps where Roy

thought he belonged.

He was hit by lighting again that year, and this time said that the cloud had definitely

been following him.

He had tried to get away, but to no avail.

He had driven from the cloud, and then run from his truck, and boom, it got him.

This time he was able to put his burning hair out.

He said about the strike, "When my ears stopped ringing, I heard something sizzling.

It was my hair on fire.

The flames were up six inches."

Roy then had a good run of three whole years of not being hit, although he still kept away

from clouds.

But on June 5th 1976 there was a particular fast cloud he apparently couldn't escape

from and it got him.

"I actually saw the lightning shoot out of the cloud this time, and it was coming

straight for me," he later said.

This time he had no can of water at hand and again he lost most of his hair.

He was hit for the last time almost exactly a year later while he was fishing.

Yep, there goes the hair again, but he also suffered more severe burns this time and the

loss of hearing in one ear.

On his way back to the car he was confronted by a bear, if things weren't bad enough.

That was his final hit, although his wife also got one when she was with him.

She'd been hanging out the washing with Roy nearby, but this time the lightning God

chose the spouse.

Now, all this sounds kind of sketchy.

Was Roy looking for attention?

Did he have a habit of self-harm by setting fire to his hair?

He was always alone when hit, so we may wonder if he really had been doing too many drugs

or was just a bit crazy.

But all his hits were confirmed by the superintendent of Shenandoah National Park, R. Taylor Hoskins.

What's more surprising than merely surviving is the fact he didn't seem to suffer any

long-term mental injuries.

At the same time, the fact he blew his brains out could mean he wasn't exactly in the

best frame of mind.

You might now be thinking, what are the odds of being hit seven times.

Well, it works out at 4.15 in 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.

Maybe Roy should have played the lottery.

What's the luckiest or unluckiest thing that's ever happened to you!

Visit Quebec Road Trip | Eastern Townships Travel Guide - Duration: 13:52.

In our last video, Sam and I spent two days enjoying some outdoor adventures in Quebec's

Eastern Townships, and this video is a continuation of that road trip.

After two days in Sutton, we drove to Mont-Mégantic National Park, which was 2 hours away, though

in reality it took us longer because we couldn't resist stopping for some poutine along the

way.

This trip was all about enjoying nature and the outdoors, and we once again teamed up

with Tourisme Quebec and Merrell Canada.

We stayed in a futuristic cabin in the woods, tackled a few hikes, learned about the universe

at AstroLab, and stopped at more than one road side attraction along the way.

Now here's a recap of that trip!

Well good morning and welcome to part 2 of our adventure through the Eastern Townships

(cantons de l'est).

Last night we spent the night at Parc national du Mont-Megantic where they have chalets yeah

in the forest and these aren't your average chalets.

They are kind of spacey and futuristic.

And each one of them is named after a planet in our solar system.

We ended up in Mercury (Mercure).

So we wanted to give you a tour because this is super cool, super unusual.

It is a one of a kind accommodation and I loved it so let's head inside.

Come on.

So first thing is first.

We have so many windows and so much natural light in here.

It is beautiful because you just look outside look at that guys and you see the trees and

it is so green this time of year.

Yep.

So yeah we are like in our own little bubble in nature.

And we had a nice little fireplace, we had some sofas.

We had a beautiful kitchen.

Mmmhmm.

This is the kind of place where you want to come you know stocked up with all of your

food.

All of your meals and you can spend the weekend here cooking.

Yep.

We didn't really do that but that is an option.

Like they even have a coffee maker.

Um and then I want to show you our bedroom.

This is where we slept last night.

So yeah it was just two single beds and when you check in they give you a little kit where

you have your bedding, you have your towels.

Um there is also heat inside the cabin so honestly we didn't need like a heavy duvet

or anything like that.

So yeah it was super cozy.

I slept really well.

We slept nine hours.

Yes we did.

After yesterdays adventure.

And there is a second bedroom in this chalet.

So if you come this way there is like a metallic dividing curtain.

And it is basically the same.

Yep just two single beds.

And then we had a nice little bathroom.

Walk-in shower in here.

Little toilet there.

And then the sink was out here on the other side.

And also outside we had a fire-pit, a picnic table, some chairs to sit on.

Unfortunately it is raining at the moment but if you had better weather you could totally

hang out outside.

Alright, so we are hitting the trails here in Mont Megantic bright and early.

Bright and early.

It is like an early morning hike.

Yeah.

It is beautiful.

There is nobody here.

Just the sounds of nature and we are walking right along a creek at the moment.

I know.

It is so peaceful.

It is very peaceful.

And we are seeing more autumn colours.

Yeah.

Like we've been chasing these colours and finally we are starting to see more oranges

and reds and yellows.

It is amazing what a few days will do and we've also headed a bit further north too.

That makes a difference.

One thing to keep in mind when it comes to hiking in this park, is that it's divided

into two sectors: the Franceville Sector and the Observatoire Sector.

The Franceville sector is located in the northwest end of the park, which is where our cabins

were so this is where we went hiking.

So it is super wet and humid and moist in this forest.

We can see lots of firns and mushrooms growing.

And you can breath in that fresh air.

How fresh is it?

It is wonderful.

How fresh?

It is wonderful.

During our stay in Mont-Mégantic National Park, we also visited the ASTROLab, which

is an astronomy research centre focused on making science accessible to the public.

You see, our main reason for coming all the way out here was to do some stargazing!

Mont-Mégantic is located in the heart of the first International Dark Sky Reserve and

that means it's an astronomy lover's paradise.

Because there's hardly any light pollution in the area, it's the perfect place to see

and study the stars, however, fog and rain did put a bit of a damper on our plans.

We did drive up to Mont Mégantic to see the observatory and Mont Saint-Joseph to see the

chapel, but there weren't too many views to be had on that day.

Because star-gazing wasn't possible that night, we went out for a nice leisurely dinner

at Aux Toits Rouges.

This is a country lodge with its own in-house restaurant and we got a little adventurous

with our dishes.

Well it is dinner time here and today we are eating at this cozy little restaurant and

they serve a lot of traditional dishes so we have ordered up duck from lac brom yep

which is nearby.

And they also have pheasant.

What did I order?

It wasn't pheasant.

It was quail.

Quail.

Sorry.

I ordered quail royale.

So this isn't something Id' be able to have anywhere else so we figured why not.

When in the Eastern Townships (cantons de l'est) so that is dinner.

We've also got some red house wine so cheers to that.

It is going to be a lovely dinner.

Salut.

So the main dishes have arrived.

Like I mentioned earlier I went for the quail.

Which is something that I don't eat very often.

To be honest I cannot remember the last time I had quail.

But here we have it wrapped in bacon.

Yes.

My goodness.

I can smell that bacon.

Let's see how that turned out.

I can smell that bacon.

Hahaha.

Mmmm.

Oh wow.

Good?

Super tender.

Oh my gosh.

I forgot it is stuffed with veal.

Oh.

The owner had mentioned that earlier.

Mmmhmm.

And I just got really excited about trying something new.

I totally forgot.

That is really good.

Yeah?

Mmmhmm.

How about the sauce?

Nice flavours.

We've got some maple of course.

Uh.

So the sauce is really nice and sweet.

Maple for the win here in Quebec.

We've been eating so many things with maple.

Yeah.

It is very good.

And I'm not getting sick of it.

Let me tell you.

And this just comes with some white rice.

We have some little steamed vegetables on the side.

Really good.

Very tasty.

Very happy.

I'm really excited for this.

I've been wanting to try duck here in Quebec for a while.

Yeah.

This is my chance to do it.

Um check out this.

I think I have a sauce that is very similar to yours.

It looks like maple.

It looks like maple.

I hope it is.

I've got rice and steamed vegetables.

Oh la lah.

So let's just get right into that duck.

How is it?

Oh that is a really nice gravy.

In terms of its flavour and richness it is just delicious.

Guys there are deer sleeping on our front lawn.

Go really slow.

Deer on our front lawn.

Oh my gosh.

It is out of focus.

One is standing, two are sleeping.

So slow.

Two are sleeping.

Or are those rocks?

Are those rocks?

Or are they sleeping deer?

There is definitely one.

Those two are rocks but we do have a deer.

Oh look.

Oh wow.

Look at that.

It is running.

Bye deer.

Okay so we were driving on our way to Mont Ham but then we noticed a sign for a covered

bridge.

So we've just pulled over to see what this is all about.

I don't think I've ever seen a covered bridge in my life so I'm quite curious.

So it looks like this bridge is called Pont McVetty-McKenzie and it dates back from 1893.

Walking down a covered bridge have you ever been in one of these before?

I have in New Brunswick.

Oh!

Yeah.

It reminds me of something I got to do when I was a kid to be honest.

Yeah.

So you know I always pictured covered bridges as kissing bridges because in the movies they

always show like the couples go for a little wagon ride and they go through the wooden

bridge and like sneak a little peck.

So that is what I think of.

Haha.

So we've now walked out of the bridge and there is this beautiful lawn with picnic benches.

Look at that like right on the river's edge.

This is such a beautiful spot.

I wish we'd brought our lunch today because this would have been lovely.

Alright guys so a bit of construction along the way but we have arrived at Mont Ham.

We got our little tickets to hike the trail.

Yep.

And we've also got this massive map here.

Which basically shows you what we're going to get up to.

Yeah.

So we are starting down here and there are several trails that will get you up to the

summit which is where we want to go for the views.

Yep.

They've told us this red one is the shortest but the steepest and most challenging.

Yeah.

There is basically there is 3 levels.

Yeah.

There is beginner, intermediate and advanced.

This would be the hardest.

So they asked us have you ever done this before.

Like this particular walk and since we said no they've recommended either green or blue.

Yep.

So I think that is what we're going to do on the way up.

And we've also got a little map so we don't get disoriented.

Um so that is the plan.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to actually reaching the summit, seeing some colours.

Apparently once you get to the top there are no trees.

It is just a rock.

The sun is starting to peak out too.

Finally because it was raining this morning.

Yeah it was.

This is great.

We're on our way.

So one cool thing I've noticed along this trail is that they use tree trunks a lot of

different ways.

Like we have them as bridges, as stepping stones and now we've got some steps here.

A bit of a staircase in nature.

The summit of Mont Ham sits at 713 metres above sea level, but it only has a prominence

of 358 metres, so it's a fairly light hike.

Well we made it to the top.

What did you think?

Summited.

Amazing views.

Yeah.

Quite the workout.

It was a real workout.

My oh my.

The hike got more challenging as we got further up the mountain.

Yeah.

And what was fascinating is when first arrived up here it is just unbelievable how it is

all forest and just a few pockets of human activity.

Yes.

A few farms, a few random buildings but mostly just forest.

It is quite the view from up here.

So we're taking a break on the way down.

Uh!

How are those new boots handling this hike?

You know they are feeling good.

So these are Merrell's Sugarbush.

I have to say I feel pretty fashionable on a mountain.

Haha.

Um they are leather and actually these are meant to be winter boots because they are

salt resistant.

Yep.

But yeah we thought let's take them for a hike and they have faired pretty well.

I'm feeling good in these.

Feeling comfy.

Yeah, the thing I've noticed is they have really nice ankle support yes and again they

also feel so comfortable to wear.

On our road trip through the Eastern Townships (cantons de l'est), we also took two little

detours.

The first was to visit Abbaye St-Benoit-du-Lac), which is an abbey known for its multicoloured

bricks and tiled floors.

The second was to the Marais de la Rivière aux Cerises, which is an area with boardwalks

and walking trails through marshland.

Hi.

(Squirrel sounds)

Best Upcoming Base Building and Survival Indie Games - Indie Game News October 2018 - Duration: 9:24.

Hello Indie Game Lovers, Nerds and Nerdettes my name is Feniks and this is the Indie Game

News.

Today we look at Base-Building and Survival genre.

Don't forget to check video description for additional information

Time for updates of already released games.

Scrap mechanic version 0.3.1 is available.

We will see quite a few new features added to the game here are some of them developer

added big and small explosive canisters that well obviously allow you to blow things up

in spectacular way.

With that we will see added material damage levels.

We will see some changes to particle effects now you will see coloured particles from destroying

coloured blocks as well as ground particles changing colour depending on material.

We will see some improvement to blueprints.

Now interactable parts save their data when exported to a blueprint players will get more

details from errors when bluprint fails to load.

Some good update there however I feel development is a bit slow paced to compare to other similar

titles.

Nonetheless despite my personal opinion game is still sat at 83% positive review score

out of over 14 000 reviews submitted.

Rise to Ruins the world update has been released.

We will see addition of chest and God experience.

You now gain a reward chest for every 5 days of gameplay on any region.

Chests have random perks in them that will benefit your colony.

In order to open chest you need to spend God experience, this is earned by playing and

managing your village well.

Perks are persistent between games so earning some perks in game 1 will make your game 2

that much easier, but fear not you have option of creating new profile and starting from

scratch.

Corruption has been completely rewritten.

Corruption spawn and spread rates are now based on the global world day, not the individual

region's day.

A new corruption threat bar has been added to the world map view, the higher the bar

fills, the more dangerous the entire world is.

Completing some goals and migrating to new regions reduces the corruption world wide.

We will see addition of new migration system.

You can now send units to new area or nearby village You now will only get "freebie" villagers

and resources on your first region.

After, you must send migrants to connecting regions to establish them.

When starting a new connected regions you will get up to 25 migrants as soon as you

place your camp.

After, you will get anywhere between 10 and 15 a day until all incoming migrants have

been completely exhausted.

During this time you can still receive nomads as usual

We will see many more improvement new systems and additions to the game.

This patch is a huge step towards eventually leaving early access.

The game has been first released on early access in October 2014 and has so far gathered

92% positive review score on steam out of over 1600 reviews submitted.

Astroneer has released new crafting update this September.

Revamping the way resources work in the game and will give player incentive to move to

different planets as now you need to explore more in order to craft each item in the game.

Now there is few stages to your production.

You need to gather resources initially with your hand tool.

Initially from your local area slowly venturing further into the world.

Then next step is to smelt and refine your resources and use those to create better tools.

You can then use your advanced tools to extract more materials from the soil on bigger and

industrial scale.

Finally you combine resources together to create more advanced products.

Apart of this bit more complex system we will see several new recipes and resources added

to the game.

Finally players will notice that catalog has received a visual redesign as per players

request.

As always many more bug fixes and optimizations.

Astroneer pulled it together since it's hard time last year and climbed back to very

nice 86% positive review score on steam out of over 23 000 reviews submitted.

I haven't noticed any notable released last month but if I have missed anything please

let me know.

With that let's move to upcoming releases.

Atomic Society September release is postponed to early October due to some bugs being found

in recent build.

Currently game is available via developers website.

In Atomic Society you build and rule your own post-apocalyptic society.

Decide the laws and morals of the survivors.

Overcome challenges and threats from the wasteland.

Game premise is very similar to the one you may know from Frost Punk.

Developers put much focus on society building and shaping than just on running your own

colony.

You will have ability to deal with crime your citizens will commit crimes and a wide range

of social issues as you play and it will be up to you to create laws and rules for breaking

them so your citizens know where your society is going.

You will be able to shape the beliefs of your society either by education, exile or violence.

You will deal with such social issues as abortion, murder, vegetarianism, drug use, cannibalism

and more.

While developers are fighting bugs some new features will be added to October release:

new additions to belief system including competing religions, conversion etc.

Citizens can now have children and some may want to abort unwanted pregnancy, we will

see addition of homosexuality and transgender social issues.

Finally developers optimized the game enough to feel that population cap can be increased

to 350 survivors.

The Colonists is set to release this October.

I will be honest with you I am torned when it comes to covering this game, developer

was meant to release it almost a year ago then disappeared for several months just to

emerge recently.

Game looks absolutely amazing and I love graphical style and concept behind it.

But developers inconsistency and bare bones state of steam page leaves me concerned.

I will leave decision to you but I would personally wait for some reviews before you buy.

The Colonists is a settlement building game inspired by classic titles like The Settlers

and the Anno series.

You take control of a team of self-replicating robots who have escaped from Earth and are

searching the galaxy for a new home where they can fulfil their dream: to be human.

You'll advance through three different Ages as you build infrastructure for your colony

by constructing road, boat and train transport systems.

Harvest natural resources, set up farming and food production, create expeditions to

discover new lands and research new technologies.

With two separate mission tracks, The Colonists lets either you create sprawling settlements

in peace or race to compete against AI colonies in military winner-takes-all scenarios.

Factory Town finally has a steam page.

Factory town city builder in which you build, expand, automate, and optimize your own fantasy

village in the wilderness using marble-run chutes, railways, running water, magic currents,

and conveyor belts.

Developers promises

Tons of optimization tools at your disposal - roads, wagons, minecarts & railways, marble-run

chutes, conveyor belts, and other magical and physical contraptions

3D terrain will make it a challenge to deliver your resources from high in the mountain down

to your production centers

Game promises a powerful world generation tools to create and share your own maps & crafting

recipes

Game will allow you to build complex logical systems with gates, triggers, and filters

to make sure resources get to the right destination.

You will need to manage supply chains to keep your population supplied with food, clothing,

medicine, and other important goods.

Game allows you to control your minions directly with use simple click-and-drag actions to

directly issue behavior commands to workers, telling them what items to pick up and where

to deliver them.

Forager is set to release this fall.

Forager is a 2D open world game inspired by exploration, farming and crafting games such

as Stardew Valley, Terraria & Zelda.

Forager Originally made for a jam (in which Forager won second place!), over 100,000 players

tried and LOVED the prototype.

Your job in the game is to explore, craft, gather & manage resources, find secrets and

build your base out of nothing!

Buy land to explore and expand!

Here is some of cool features.

Players will have access to new lands and biomes (Deserts, Graveyards, Snowy Mountains,

Volcanoes, and more!)

You will use new Combat mechanics that have been added!

(Dungeons, Bosses, Raids, Night time invasions, etc).

We will see several quirky companions to trade or talk with.

Of course as already mentioned Farming mechanics, including caring for animals and the harvesting

of all sorts of crops and herbs.

Cool aspect of the game is archaeology mechanics.

Play as a professional secret-finder as you raid ruins, dig for artifacts and display

your findings in your own museum!

Alchemy & Rune Inscription mechanics.

Allowing you to go all in on the crazy wizard fantasy, destroying big masses of resources

with a single bomb or creating trees out of nothing with a powerful spellbook.

Finally 16+ new skills to learn and master, in a free-form upgrade system that allows

you to customize your experience as you see fit.

This brings the number of skills up to 64 total, each unlocking new items, structures

or gameplay modifiers!

A Man Got Hit By A Lightning 7 Times - What Happened To Him? - Duration: 7:50.

Metal Detecting Madness - PART 1 - The Medieval Trace - Duration: 57:14.

Hello.

I'm in a steep area.

Before we start...

I have to apply something against flies and mosquitoes.

The onion (on my neck, arms and face).

Let's go...

First target.

The soil is bone dry.

It's a button.

I like it.

GPS ("POI") #1.

This was my "Roman nail" gesture.

A nail it is...

It won't be easy...

Another button.

This one is hollow inside.

GPS (POI) #2.

A very weak signal.

Oh no, it looks like a Roman fibula.

Or something similar...

#3

A bullet from the WWII.

Blackberries...

I think, it's a pocket knife.

Probably another part.

As expected.

The detector turned itself off... It happens since v5.1 Deus FW.

It interrupts my flow and is slowly starting to be very annoying.

I have to turn it off and on every time it happens.

The bug seems to occur, when the coil is not in motion.

Where to go...

It's a coin.

"1 German Mark" (1969).

Another coin.

"10 Pfennig" (1960?).

Sounds like a Roman nail.

A giant ant.

And the nail.

Well, you never know...

What's this?

A mushroom, truffle?

Hmm...

I have no idea.

Not again! The Deus disconnected.

Now I'm getting angry.

At least he came back to me.

A silver coin.

One moment please.

He guarded this coin.

It looks very old.

No, let me use the other hand.

I think, it could be silver from around 12th century.

#4

Distilled water.

A totally unexpected turn.

A bone?

No.

Let me restart this detector... It turned itself off twice within minutes.

Now this find has changed everything.

A similar sounding object, very close to the coin.

What can I do...

Another small guardian...

This increases the chances.

I have to be very careful.

This soil is very tricky with its many stones.

One wrong move and the object is damaged.

I'm trying not to pull on roots.

This could break a thin coin.

It's coming closer...

It's very close.

Right there.

The final part.

There it is - another medieval silver coin.

Tiny roots are holding everything in place.

It's still dry.

I believe, it could be a "Denar" "Philipp I" (1167-1191).

Or something in this direction....

I will show you pictures at the very end of this hunt.

#5

5" (12,5cm) - but the tip is worn out and 0.4" (1cm) shorter.

I think, I will use my marking system.

A very faint signal between two previous coins.

The odds are in favour of another coin.

Almost out of range.

There is the guardian.

I decided not to cut this video during the digging process...

...you can skip it, if you don't want to see it.

Although it seems to be deep, I can't take any chances.

A weird position of a tiny coin could lead to a wrong conclusion.

I also don't trust the detector.

I think, this is the safest way.

The signal is getting stronger.

To tell you the truth - I'm terrified! :)

I will show you the tip of my Garrett pinpointer.

The plastic has worn out. I filled the empty space with a glue gun.

The coil is touching the ground, but it makes the pinpointer more sensitive.

I see it as an advantage over a brand new model.

I think, the tip should be shaped like this since the beginning.

Stones...

And roots...

One moment please.

It's a coin.

Silver, same type - probably 12th century.

I believe, we are dealing with a medieval coin spill...

I have to inform my assistants about the progress.

They can't believe it.

All three coins very close to each other.

There is only one direction - UP.

I have to restart this thing - it disconnected again.

This is how the spot looks like.

There is nothing at the top, that could be historically connected to this.

At least not to my knowledge.

There is no iron either.

It's a "clean one time drop" in my opinion.

A straight path to the first coins.

Nice and clean, relatively shallow.

I have to get rid of this root.

It's inside.

I can't do more than that.

I will check if the object is flat.

It sounds like a flat object.

Now the coin is in this position.

Now in this.

But I will not open it and look inside.

I will leave it as it is and soak it in water first.

I will show you everything at the end.

GPS #7, coin #4.

Small iron.

I have to concentrate on other signals first.

This could still continue...

Same line.

You know what this gesture means.

It's macro time.

Silver coin #5.

I will take out this small stone only...

...and leave the rest like this.

Another signal...

Stars With Seriously Shady Significant Others - Duration: 9:17.

Stars don't always make the best relationship choices.

It's hard to imagine how people with the world at their fingertips, and their choice of suitors

and beauties, would fall in love with criminals or creeps.

But these celebs all shacked up with characters who were allegedly really sketchy.

Some stars were warned, but apparently still blinded by love.

Others got out of their doomed relationships relatively unharmed.

But tragically, some didn't make it out at all.

From Oscar darling Sandra Bullock to musician Trace Cyrus and reality star Courtney Stodden,

men and women from across the entertainment industry have allegedly been victimized, bamboozled,

or simply mistreated by the folks they loved.

Let's take a closer look at some stars with really sketchy significant others.

Brittany Murphy's tragic marriage

Actress Brittany Murphy met screenwriter Simon Monjack when she was 13, according to People.

Their paths reportedly crossed again at her 28th birthday party, and a year later, they

got married.

The Hollywood Reporter noted that when they met, Monjack was broke and embroiled in several

lawsuits.

Director George Hickenlooper told the New York Daily News that he tried to warn Murphy

about Monjack.

And sources also told THR that Monjack allegedly,

"[…] created a web of paranoia around Brittany and used it to separate her from anyone who

might have challenged his dominance."

"I always have believed if you can't change your surroundings, change your hair color"

When a 32-year-old Murphy fell ill and died suddenly in December 2009, THR reported Monjack

was convinced,

"[…] she had literally died of a broken heart, caused by the shoddy way she had been

treated in Hollywood."

Monjack died five months later, at age 40, in an eerily similar fashion.

After his death, TMZ revealed he had two secret love-children, whose mothers were demanding

child support, and he had wired huge sums of money to various entities.

Trace Cyrus' lying girlfriend

Before dating Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin, former Disney starlet Brenda Song had a roller

coaster relationship with a different star.

Years of relationship drama between Song and Metro Station frontman Trace Cyrus, who's

also the brother of Miley Cyrus, came to a head in 2015 on social media.

Song wrote in a since-deleted Instagram:

"[…] A few years ago there were rumors that I was pregnant and/or had a miscarriage.

I just want to say that those rumors were not true.

[…] I apologize for not clearing this up sooner and for the continual damage that these

lies have caused Trace Cyrus."

But it gets worse.

Trace reportedly commented on her apologetic post, writing,

"Yes they were lies THAT U MADE UP and told me, my entire family and all our friends."

Yikes.

Courtney Stodden's "arranged" marriage

"What was your big break?"

"My big break...my 52-year-old husband!"

At a time when most parents are still signing field trip permission slips for their kids,

Courtney Stodden's mom, Krista, gave her 16-year-old daughter written permission to marry 51-year-old

actor Doug Hutchison, in 2011.

"There was nothing illegal or immoral about it.

It was just that we found ourselves falling for eachother"

"and flying on the wings of love together"

In fact, the actor said mama Stodden was the one that suggested the arrangement, telling

ABC News,

"It was Krista who said, 'You know, you guys could get married if you want.

There are ways to do that.

There are certain states.'"

But Krista later second-guessed her blessing.

She told Radar Online in 2015,

"I do take full responsibility, however because I am the one that did sign the paper for her

to marry this man.

If I had to do it all over again I cannot tell you if I would be signing that paper."

Courtney apparently had mixed feelings about the shocking age gap too.

She told the Sun in 2016,

"It's mind-boggling to me that we were able to do it, that my mom would sign a bit of

paper to let me marry a 50 year old."

Courtney blamed her mother's own attraction to Doug, for the pairing, revealing on Lifetime

in 2016,

"I feel like these boundaries have been crossed so much"

"Doug isn't the only guy you've been emotionally attached to"

In March 2018, after seven years of marriage, People reported that a 23-year-old Courtney

filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and requesting Hutchison not receive spousal

support.

Lea Michele's male gigolo?

When her former flame, Cory Monteith died of a fatal mix of heroin and alcohol in 2013,

Lea Michele mended her heart with the hunky Matthew Paetz in 2014.

But his alter ego may have gotten in the way.

TMZ reported that Paetz was a former male companion for Cowboys4Angels, a site that

was featured on the Showtime series Gigolos.

Paetz, who operated under the name "Christian," described himself as a "massage therapist"

and "life and dating coach," charging upwards of $17,000 for a week of togetherness.

An insider told E! News,

"Lea wanted to believe in love and wanted to believe the good in him.

She didn't think he should be punished for his past."

It seems Michele believed a little too hard, because she was allegedly "blindsided" when

Paetz took off in 2016, according to Us Weekly.

A source told E! News that Michele "got no reason or explanation for the split", and

that Paetz wouldn't even talk to her.

Ronda Rousey's professional fighter

Although she generally keeps her relationship with husband and UFC fighter Travis Browne

under wraps, Ronda Rousey's marriage is not without controversy.

Browne's estranged wife, fitness model Jenna Lee Webb, accused him of spousal abuse, even

posting photos of her alleged injuries on Instagram and Twitter with warnings for Rousey.

Browne was suspended by the UFC while a law firm investigated the claims, but the organization

reported the evidence was inconclusive.

"It was hard to listen to see what people were saying about me.

But at the same time I know what I did and what I didn't do"

Rousey tearfully addressed the abuse claims, telling ESPN in 2015,

"It's hard, it's really hard.

I'm very anti-domestic violence, but I know that he didn't do anything.

Now I'm put in a situation where I'm finally happy with somebody that respects me and cares

about me, and I'm like, 'What do I do?'"

The pair tied the knot in August 2017, so whatever Browne's issues may have been, they

weren't enough to change Rousey's mind.

"You're about to celebrate a year anniversary of marriage."

"Congrats.

Best year of my life"

Phaedra Parks' racketeering husband

When The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks married Apollo Nida, he had just finished

a five-year prison sentence for racketeering.

When his wife joined the Bravo franchise, the AP reported that Nida claimed Parks,

"[…] was making far more money than he was and that he felt pressure to keep up."

According to the AP, Nida reportedly reverted to his criminal ways to make a buck.

He later pleaded guilty to mail, wire, and bank fraud and was sentenced to eight years

in prison and ordered to pay $1.9 million in restitution, according to Page Six.

"I filed for divorce last year and it has been a long drawn out process because Apollo

has not wanted to get the divorce"

But when Nida and Parks finally divorced in 2017, she made it abundantly clear that she

was ready to move on, telling Us Weekly,

"Apollo and I started dating in high school and now I'm in my early 40s, so it was time

to go.

That's almost a lifetime.

Thank God it's over, but thank God it happened because we have two beautiful kids."

"At the end of the day, it's my fault, I made a decision to do what I did.

I gotta lay in the bed that I made"

Sandra Bullock's super bad-boy

While Oscar winner Sandra Bullock and Jesse James were dating in 2004, the American Chopper

star posed as Hitler in Nazi regalia.

Sources told Us Weekly that the reality star was not actually a Neo-Nazi, just a, quote,

"history buff."

But more controversy followed in 2007, when James was accused of selling motorcycles that

violated California's clean air laws.

People reported he was fined over $271,000 by the California Air Resources Board.

However, it was the revelation in 2010 that James cheated on Bullock with a slew of women,

that prompted Bullock to file for divorce, according to Us Weekly.

James rebounded with renowned tattoo artist Kat Von D, but his old habits died really,

really hard, The two were on-again off-again until calling it quits for good in 2011.

According to People, James allegedly cheated on Von D with a whopping 19 women.

Mariah Carey's former slimeballs

Superstar songstress, Mariah Carey, was just 18 years old when she got together with her

much older manager and Sony Music boss, Tommy Mottola.

According to Entertainment Weekly, she later described their 1993 marriage as "oppressive"

and referred to the prison-like home they shared as "Sing Sing."

And according to Mottola's 2013 memoir, Hitmaker: The Man and his Music, he didn't necessarily

disagree.

He wrote,

"If it seemed like I was controlling, let me apologize again.

Was I obsessive?

Yes.

But that was also part of the reason for her success."

Mottola claims he made Carey a star, and after their divorce, he thought he could take it

all away too.

According to XXL, Mottola allegedly instructed record executive Irv Gotti,

"[…] to make a record for Jennifer Lopez that sounded exactly like one Gotti's company

had made with Carey for her movie, Glitter, even though Glitter was not finished and Lopez

would beat Carey to the punch […]"

Sources claimed Mottola was quietly looking at "footage of Glitter while his ex-wife was

shooting it."

Then in 2016, Carey became engaged to billionaire James Packer, who may be doing some shady

dealings of his own.

After their breakup, The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Packer was being investigated

for possibly giving gifts to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

When asked about the controversy, Carey quipped,

"I don't know where the motherf—-er is!"

How to Know When Your Video is Too Long... - Duration: 4:59.

- So I just wrapped up my Launch Masterclass about a week ago, and it was absolutely fantastic.

I hope you caught it. I did four, well actually five, live broadcasts.

I think the total was 13 or 14 hours of FREE content. It was fantastic.

It led into my launch, which was a huge success. One of my most successful launches.

I decided to really push the boundaries.

The idea of 'give away your absolute best stuff'

and people will want more.

So I decided to test that, and I delivered as much as I could

in those live broadcasts, and it just ended being a great launch.

We got thousands and thousands of comments during the whole Launch Masterclass.

It was at least five or six thousand comments which was really, really cool.

It was great to get that interaction, great to get that feedback,

but also it was great intelligence on what's going on in the minds of the people that I'm publishing to,

that I want to reach. So it's fantastic.

One of the comments that came in,

there's a lot of really good ones, there's a lot of crazy ones,

there's a lot of funny ones, silly ones, but one of them ...

I loved it because it came in

and this person, they were concerned about doing long videos in launches.

They said, "I read this study that said

you can't do videos for longer than seven minutes.

People won't pay attention beyond seven minutes.

That was really interesting because this person was on a live broadcast,

and they were about two and a half hours in, they had been watching the live broadcast,

Two and a half hours in, they've been sitting there watching me,

and they're asking, "Do long videos work? Do they have to be less than seven minutes?"

I'm like, well, duh!?

The answer is you've been watching for two and a half hours.

I guess long videos work.

So people, a lot of people have this question,

"Do I have to keep making my stuff shorter and shorter

and shorter as attention spans drop?"

I think that is a thing, that attention span. We're all just getting A.D.D. ...

because of the way the world is going right now ... the phones in our pockets,

and social media. I think in general ...

their attention spans are dropping. That being said, if you take your marketing

you shrink it down and keep on shrinking and shrinking and shrinking it,

you will be pandering to the lowest common denominator.

The people that are really interested in your message,

that need your message, will pay attention to your message

if you deliver it in a compelling way.

There's this old saying, it's one of my favorites,

is that your copy, any kind of copy, copywriting ...

"Your copy can can never be too long, | it can only be too boring."

It's the same with anything you publish.

Any blog post, any video, any podcast, any sales letter, any email.

It can never be too long. It can only be too boring.

Which means that for your target market, this is a key,

not for your mother, not for your mother-in-law,

not for your friends who don't care about your market

or anything about that.

For the people that are really interested in what you're publishing about,

you have to be interesting to those people, like I'm talking to you about business building.

98% of the world doesn't care about business building.

A three-second video would be too long for [them].

But, for people that are interested in building their presence

I can do a 3-hour broadcast.

I did a four hour broadcast and we kept people for the entire thing.

So you want to keep your message as tight and succinct and short as possible.

I really strive to keep my video short. I really strive to keep my email short.

But, I won't cut them short just to make them short.

You have to deliver your entire message and you have to be compelling to your target market.

Again, not to friends, not to family, to your target market.

You have to be compelling to them, and have a compelling message,

and if you do that, you can take your message

as long as it needs to be. So make it as long as it needs to be,

but not one second longer. That's sort of the flip side.

Especially my launch videos, and my sales videos,

I sweat bullets to make them as short as possible.

They might be 25 minutes. They might be 35 minutes.

They might be 50 minutes.

But if they're 50 minutes, I really work hard

to make sure it's not 51 minutes. Be as tight as possible,

but most important, be as compelling and as interesting as possible.

Yes, you can do videos that are longer than seven minutes.

You can do podcasts that are longer than seven minutes.

You can do emails that are longer than 50 words.

So that's what I've got for you this week.

Have a great week. Let's go get 'em.

And that pretty much brings us to the end of our whirlwind trip through Quebec's Eastern

Townships!

We hope you guys enjoyed following along and we'll see you in the next video.

keep watching for some more brutally

honest truths about the difference

between loving someone and being in love

with someone number six

loving means how the person makes you

feel being in love means how you make

them feel this is one common mistake

people often make when it comes to love

when someone is asked why do you love

this person they often respond with I

like how they make me feel that answer

is fine but it doesn't mean you are in

love with the person it just means you

love them if you are more concerned

about how you make your partner feel

then it's true love you could say that

true love means being unselfish and

putting your partner before you number

five

loving is a rush being in love has many

emotions

there are many highs and lows with being

in love the problem is they do not

balance each other out in a way that

makes you feel good the love can last

for a while but the second there is a

problem it could all go away it's like a

roller coaster but the problem is that

the ride eventually ends but if you are

in love with someone no matter what

happens in the relationship you never

feel like things are crashing and

burning the reason is you know that you

and your partner will find a way to

figure things out because you both are

in love with each other

number four loving a person means always

needing them being in love means having

a balance always wanting someone to be

around isn't a bad

thing it just means you love them and

enjoy their company but when you are in

love with someone you would like to have

them around as much as possible but you

do realize that there needs to be a

happy balance between you and their

personal time you want them to be happy

so you understand that the balance is

necessary whether it is giving them

their time to enjoy their hobbies or

even go out with friends you know at the

end of the day they are coming home to

you when you are in love with someone

you want that person to be happy and

confident in the relationship

this means understanding that the other

needs to have time to his or her self

you realize that you don't need to spend

all of your time with that person as

much as you would like to and also

understand that the strength of your

relationship can be determined by the

understanding that there should always

be balanced between times spent together

and time spent alone alone time between

couples is healthy and can actually even

make the couple stronger couples who are

in love understand that they are both

individuals and in order to grow as a

couple they have to have that balance

number three

love can end being in love and not love

does not last forever

and can end at any moment according to

statistics almost 50% of married couples

in the United States end up divorcing

each other at some point that just

proves my point that love on its own can

end once the honeymoon phase in a

relationship is over

that is when things get tough arguments

ensued differences begin to rise but if

the couple is in love with

each other they will get past these

differences the reason is that you

cannot picture a life without each other

it is true when you say that you can't

just stop being in love with someone

when you are in love the person becomes

a big part of your life and even becomes

a part of your heart and your soul and

you just can't picture a life without

that certain person that's why even when

a relationship is unhealthy or seems to

be crumbling some couples stay together

they love each other too much and cannot

face going about their lives without the

other person but this can be detrimental

to both partners mental well-being

number two love means wanting the best

being in love means putting them first

when you love someone you will always

want the best for them but does this

mean that you are willing to make

sacrifices to help them reach their

goals if you are in love with someone

that question doesn't even cross your

mind because you would never have any

doubts about it you would put that

person first and do everything in your

power to make sure that they succeed but

it can also relate to making the

person's life easier you will do things

that would take some stress off the

person like taking more shifts walking

the dog organ cooking dinner more often

when you're in love with another person

it is completely normal to put their

interests ahead of yours although this

may not be the most healthy thing to do

in certain situations people who are in

love will always think of the person

they love before making the decision it

is a good thing for couples to think

about each other when making decisions

to a certain extent

putting someone ahead of your own

interests in certain situations is a

sign of love and loyalty while other

situations can actually be detrimental

for example if you stop spending time

with your family or friends in an

interest of your partner each situation

depends on the context and status of the

relationship to people who are in love

are always thinking about each other and

being in love with someone

usually means that you will put their

interests ahead of yours because you

love them so much and you only want to

see them happy

number one you choose to love someone

being in love isn't a choice you have

all the power when it comes to loving

someone you make a decision based on

their personality and you choose to

trust their abilities and morals if

things do not work out then you also

have the power to stop loving them and

release them from your life the same

cannot be said if you fall in love with

someone it can happen at any time there

will be no warning and it's something

you cannot walk away from when you're in

love with someone you'll know you won't

be able to get that person off your mind

you will constantly want to be around

him or her and the thought about being

without that person will make you

nervous when you are absolutely in love

with someone it's also hard to stop

loving them especially if or when they

do something that might hurt you saying

goodbye to someone you're in love with

can be extremely difficult to do this is

why breakups are so difficult for most

couples who are in love

even if you manage to walk away that

feeling will stick with you forever that

is how you know you're in love with the

person love is a beautiful and wonderful

feeling it can be the most indescribable

and deep emotion that anyone can feel

despite everyone being able to feel this

emotion there are many that cannot tell

the difference between loving someone

and being in love with someone it's very

common to believe that they are both the

same the passion may feel the same but

what is different is the intentions so

if you are searching for that warm

bubbly feeling you need to recognize the

difference between the two have you ever

been in a situation where you realize

that you loved someone but weren't

actually in love with them tell us in

Man Utd news: Bailly 3 and Pogba 9…how United players fared during epic Newcastle win - Duration: 3:04.

Manchester United ratings for Newcastle win: David De Gea - 6 The Spaniard could do nothing for Newcastle's goals

But the Manchester United star didn't have a whole lot else to do besides that. Ashley Young 7 Defensively vulnerable, but a huge asset going forward

His cross for Alexis Sanchez's winner was special. Eric Bailly 3 A terrible display from the Ivory Coast international

A match so bad, he made Victor Lindelof look like Sergio Ramos. Chris Smalling 6 Spared a lower rating only because Bailly was so bad

Remember the days where he was compared to Rio Ferdinand? Those comparisons haven't aged well

Luke Shaw 6 Had better days. But never stopped getting forward. Patrice Evra-esque

Nemanja Matic 6 A calming presence in the middle of the park. However, even with United chasing a winner, never seemed to get out of second gear

Paul Pogba 9 Sign Fred to unlock Paul Pogba. Sign Matic to unlock him. Appoint Zidane to unlock him

Mourinho found the solution today - play him in defence! A terrific display. Scott McTominay 5 Mourinho said he looked scared after the game

He did. Dire. Marcus Rashford 5 Again, another player Mourinho criticised. Rashford tried

but was ineffective.  Romelu Lukaku 7 Not his best performance but again, never stopped trying

Showed a willingness to take players on and his effort secures him a 7 mark. Anthony Martial 8 The golden boy of so many fans on social media, Martial stepped it up today

A brilliant display from the Frenchman. Subs:  Juan Mata - 7 - scored a great goal and his introduction turned the tide of the match

Marouane Fellaini - 7 - Mr Dependable. Mourinho should forget this rotating nonsense and always pick the Belgian from the start

Alexis Sanchez - 8 - the matchwinner. Enough said.

I haven't noticed any notable released last month but if I have missed anything please

let me know.

Canine Reproduction Over Coffee : Preventing Herpesvirus (2018) - Duration: 1:30.

Hello everyone ! I am Dr E !

And my thing is to share with you what I know on management of kennels and catteries !

You see recently I was reading people posting about

canine herpesvirus, this one right here.

And they were freaking out.

I find it kind of interesting you know because for me, canine herpesvirus is not such a big thing.

When you think about it, many many many dogs are positive.

So it's a reality.

And I am going to give you in this episode my key tip on how to better prevent the consequences

of a canine herpes virus infection in puppies.

Canine herpes virus is what we call a virus of the cold mucosas.

It replicates when temperature drops below 34 ℃ and that is why it is such a big problem

in puppies.

Puppies are colder than adults.

And puppies are prone to be hypothermic.

So the best way to prevent canine herpesvirus is to prevent hypothermia.

If you can maintain the temperature of the puppies above 34 during the first 3 weeks

after they are born you will be good.

After 3 weeks they can regulate their body temperature by themselves.

And that is the key thing.

If you want more information on this virus, I'll post a link in the comment section below on one

of the webinars we did on this very topic.

Have a great day, and I'll see you guys very soon !

Canine Reproduction Over Coffee : 3 Things on Parturition (2018) - Duration: 1:42.

Hello everyone ! Dr E here ! Welcome to this new episode of Canine Reproduction Over Coffee !

You see recently I was seeing people posting on Facebook about their bitches giving birth.

And those people were kind of freaking out because their bitch was about to give birth

or was actually giving birth and they were not really sure what to expect.

You know my favorite say : " An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

When it comes to canine parturition, you need to be prepared.

And I believe there are 3 things you must know beforehand to better manage the process.

First, you need to know when the bitch is supposed to give birth.

And that is something we can accurately determine today in veterinary medicine.

You know the day of ovulation, you know when the bitch is going to give birth.

Second : you need to know how many puppies are expected.

And again that is something we can very easily do.

We do an X-ray in late gestation and that will give you an accurate number.

And third : you need to know what to expect.

You need to know what parturition is about, what are the different things that are going

to happen during this process.

There are many variations from one bitch to the other, from one breed to the other.

But you must have a rough idea and there are tables that can help you do that today so

that you are again better prepared.

We did a webinar few months ago on this very topic and I'll post the link in the comment

section below so you guys can have a look.

But that will help you better understand those 3 points I just mentioned.

Remember : you need to be prepared.

And an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure !
