Pork tenderloin with plum sauce | La Cocina de Broumery - Duration: 4:36.

Hi, welcome La Cocina de Brooumery.

n this opportunity we will prepare a very special dish, it is a rich sirloin with Plum sauce.

For the ingredients we will need:

270g chopped pineapple

1 medium onion

120ml pineapple juice

2 tablespoons brown sugar

3 garlic cloves

20g butter

20ml olive oil

Pinch of pepper

½ tsp of salt

1 kg of Sirloin

200ml red wine

280g prunes boneless and sliced

40g walnuts

Elaboration First we will star our oven to 180ºC.

Then we will remove the excess fat from the sirloin, only the excess.

Now we open small holes to the sirloin

then we add salt and pepper on both sides

and we introduce the plums and walnuts.

In a frying pan place the oil let a little heat and introduce our sirloin to seal it

In a bowl place the sirloin and add the wine, pineapple juice, and oil remaining after sealing the sirloin, previously mixed

Add garlic, onion

plums

and chopped pineapple

cover with aluminum foil and bring to the oven for about 30 minutes

After this time we take it out we turn it we add ½ glass of water

and we return it to introduce in our oven

After 30 minutes we take it out of the oven

we put the broth or liquid of the container in In the Blender Container and liquefy it

then add a part of our plum sauce to our sirloin

and also add the melted butter and brown sugar

to caramelize the top Of our sirloin

and we will put it back to the oven at 200ºC for only 10 minutes more.

After this time we take it out of the oven, cut it into slices and add some of our plum sauce and serve it !!!!!!!

Do not forget to like it and subscribe to our channel.

Geometry: Measurement of Segments (Level 3 of 4) | Examples II - Duration: 5:40.

Measurement of Segments Level 3 In this video we will go over 2 additional

examples that involve congruent segments.

Let's jump straight into the first example.

According to the diagram, which two segments are congruent?

In this problem we are provided with two figures in this case we have two triangles, we are

asked to determine which two segments are congruent to one another.

Recall that two segments are congruent if they have the same length.

Unfortunately we do not know the lengths of any of the segments shown in the figure.

But we do have tick marks; remember that we can visually show that two line segments are

congruent by using tick marks.

In the first triangle segment AB has a double tick mark and segment BC has a single tick mark.

In the second triangle segment RT has a single tick mark and segment ST has a triple tick mark.

Segments that have matching tick marks are congruent so segment BC is congruent to segment

RT and this is our final answer.

Alright that was a nice warm up let's try a more challenging problem.

The perimeter of rectangle ABCD is 66, and line segment DC is twice as long as line segment CB.

How long is line segment AB?

In this problem we have a rectangle that is formed by 4 vertices and 4 line segments this

type of figure is a special type of quadrilateral.

Quadrilaterals will be discussed in greater detail in a much later video.

For now we want to determine the length of segment AB given the fact that the perimeter

(the distance around the figure) is 66 and line segment DC is twice as long as line segment CB.

We can determine the length of line segment AB by relating the facts of the problem with

the geometric relations of the figure.

We will have to use algebra in order to set up an equation and solve for the unknown length,

in this case our unknown will be line segment AB.

From the figure shown we know that line segment AD and line segment BC are congruent because

both segments have matching single tick marks.

In the same manner line segment DC and line segment AB are congruent because both segments

have matching double tick marks.

Recall that when two line segments are congruent they have the same length or have the same

measurement.

Now that we have this information let's take a look at the facts of the problem and

use algebra to set up an equation.

We know that the perimeter is equal to 66 this means that if we were to add all the

line segments it should equal to 66.

In order to solve an equation we need to determine our unknowns and assign variables to these

unknowns.

Since line segment AD and line segment BC are congruent we can use the variable x to

represent their length.

Similarly we can use the variable y to represent the length of segment DC and segment AB.

Substituting these variables into our perimeter equation and simplifying we obtain the following.

Notice that we have two variables in our equation, in its current form we cannot solve for any

of the variables, we need to replace one of the variables either x or y with an expression

that will simplify the equation with two variables into an equation with a single variable.

We can do just that by using the second fact of the problem, in this case line segment

DC is twice as long as line segment CB, we can express this relation as follows.

From here we can replace the length of segment DC with the variable y and the length of segment

CB with the variable x.

Now we can substitute this expression for y in the perimeter equation as follows.

From here it is just a matter of simplifying the expression and solving for x.

In the end we obtain x is equal to 11.

Now, we are not done yet this is not like your algebra class where the goal was to solve

for x, in a geometry problem we need to make sure that we answer the question completely.

Notice that x represents the length of line segment AD or BC we were asked to find the

length of line segment AB and not the other two segments.

So we know from the facts that segment DC is twice the length of segment CB since the

length of line segment BC is 11 then the length of line segment AB is equal to twice this

number in this case 22.

So this is our final answer.

Alright in our final video on measurement of segments we will go over 2 challenging

examples.

A Spear Born of Fire: Star Pattern Weld (Ep. 4) - Duration: 10:10.

Welcome to another episode of Spear Born of Fire.

Before we continue on the journey, let's take a look at the patterns I want to create.

Here are two spear heads with wolf tooth pattern and twisted stars.

Each episode you watch will get us closer to this result.

In this episode, I will be creating the twist pattern and weld it to the core.

I have a number of already prepared pattern-welded bars from previous projects and Tony and I

am choosing the one that looks the best.

In the pictures, you just saw you may have noticed that the twisted patterns on the spear

head came from one bar with different twist directions and a hairpin weld.

The first step is to create the different twists.

However, before we go there, there is something you can do to help me with these videos.

If you like them please share them on your social networks such as Twitter, Reddit or

Facebook.

This helps get more viewers and increases my motivation to produce these videos.

Let's prep the bars for twisting!

The first step is to weld on two supports for my twisting jig and slow motion makes

that look almost magical.

Once the bar is in the twisting jig, I am using the oxy-actelyn torch to hear the bar

to a bright orange and then slowly twist it.

My method is to hear up roughly 2 inches of bar and then make a constant number of twists

so that the pattern stays even throughout the whole bar.

You may hear me counting out loud in the background.

To prevent the bars from shearing in the corners, I usually put on a slight chamfer to reduce

the transition angle.

With the jig and the torch twisting is usually a fairly quick process and becomes very repeatable.

Frequent brushing helps with removing scale and keeps the bars cleaner since they need

to be forge welded back to square later.

I twisted left for one half of the bar and now it's Tony's turn to twist right for the

other half of the bar.

Once all the twisting is done, we use a wire brush on an angle grinder to clean up any

remaining scale.

My usual philosophy is to keep everything as clean as possible to reduce the rate of

failure.

Since all of this work consumes so much time, I really want to avoid starting over.

The wire brush on the angle grinder can be quite dangerous.

I prefer to wear a full face mask and brace the grinder against my body.

Here you can see the supports for the twisting jig a little bit better.

It's just little metal squares that I weld to my bars.

After twisting the bars always need to be forge-welded back to square before they can

be used any further.

As with all my forge welding, I do this in sections and make sure that the bars are hot

enough for liquid flux to squeeze out easily.

To maintain the same dimension, I use a spacer on the power hammer.

Any true blacksmith would be horrified by what is coming next.

I need to bend the bar precisely in the middle and I am doing that free hand with the torch.

I have many excuses for that, the side-blast forge was not running and the propane forge

does not give me localized heat.

However, I don't have any excuses for what you are seeing here; that seems like a terribly

way to bend the bar in the middle.

So, let's use the coal forge after all and do some corrections with the hammer.

To successfully weld the bar I just bent to the core of the spear, I need a very precise

fit without any gaps.

This is easier said than done but for now it's good enough to cut the bar to the right

length.

As I had heated the bar for bending some of the resulting scale needs to be removed again

and small file is appropriate for the job.

I am getting ready for the final fit now and really hope that all of this is going to come

together.

A failure here would ruin all the work done so far.

Once the spear is hot enough to take flux, I apply plenty of it.

The next couple minutes are going to determine success or failure.

I will let the action speak for itself.

So far everything looks like it came together.

I will just do one more light welding pass before declaring victory.

If you have watched all episodes so far, you have seen 4 different forging welding steps.

There are several more to come.

Some of these steps could be combined but I prefer to do them separately since that

gives me more control.

In preparation for the next step, I need to taper the tip into a much sharper end.

This is necessary since we need to fit the cutting edge of the spear over the core that

we have built up so far.

As always I hope you enjoyed watching this video and will stay with me till the end of

the project.

If you have not subscribed so far or are thinking why should I subscribe at all, I am saying

think twice.

It's just a press of the button.

How hard can it be?

Alright, that's it for now.

Don't forget to share this video on your social networks and I will see you next time!

Defund the NEA and PBS? That's Criminal. | Tribeca Film Festival Co-founder Jane Rosenthal - Duration: 4:37.

When we started the Tribeca Film Festival, which we announced in 2001 right after 9/11

to really bring people back to our neighborhood, our goal was to just bring as many people

back downtown as possible.

When we announced the first film festival we asked Nelson Mandela to come and speak.

Our city had been devastated.

Our country had been devastated by 9/11.

And as filmmakers we didn't know what to do other than literally to put on a show and

to try to give our neighborhood a new memory, to try to give New York a new memory.

And you just couldn't go like start running movies.

So Mandela came and he talked about when he was in Robben Island, when he was in prison;

That the one night that he and his jailers all looked forward to was movie night.

It's when they could come together and they could laugh about the same thing, they could

cry about the same thing and they were one.

It was finding their similarities, finding what was human about each of them, no matter

what side of the door either one was going to end up at at the end of the night.

And I always think back to that, and the sense of community of coming together as a community

to watch something is actually extraordinary.

When you look at the NEA and potential cuts to the NEA and you look at what would happen

to PBS, it's criminal.

The arts reflect what a country is.

The arts reflect who we are as a people.

And to lose that is losing part of our soul.

You know, the NEA has been – there have been other administrations that have tried

to cut the NEA before, but it's such a small amount in the budget.

And it is again a reflection of who we are as a people.

No matter where you are in the ecosystem of being a filmmaker, a producer, an actor, it

is always hard to get your project made.

Sometimes it happens very quickly but for the most part it's never easy.

Will artists get by?

Will we find a way to make it work?

Yes, but when I look and I talk to my friend Whoopi Goldberg some of her early work was

funded by the NEA.

There is a wonderful piece on YouTube of Mr. Rogers talking to Senator John O. Pastore

explaining what he did as Mr. Rogers on PBS.

And it's just so charming to listen to that, and you're going, "How can you cut that?"

One of the things is that our best exports becomes our shows, our entertainment.

And I remember reading a piece after I think it was Nick Kristof writing about how when

they first went into Afghanistan in the 90s and people were digging up their old VRs after

the Taliban had left at that time.

They were going into their backyard and digging up VRs and they were coming with their dirty

old VRs that they had buried, and the Titanic—And cassettes of the Titanic.

I mean they love our movies.

They don't always love us, but movies do remain — and I mean stories, our stories

become— one of our most valuable exports.

AIDS, FOR HOUSING, ALL OF THESE

ISSUES WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH

DAILY.

AT THIS POINT, IT'S LIKE WE NEED

TO GO FORWARD WITH WHAT WE

BELIEVE IS RIGHT IN THE FIRST

PLACE.

SOLEDAD: ISN'T THERE A RIGHT F

PEOPLE TRYING TO CONTROL THE

BORDERS TO SAY, THIS IS ILLEGAL

AND WE NEED HELP TO MAKE SURE

THESE PEOPLE GET CAPTURED AND

REPORTED?

-- DEPORTED?

MAYOR BARAKA: THE IMPORTAN

THING IS TO DEVELOP A PATHWAY TO

CITIZENSHIP IN AMERICA.

I THINK THAT HAS BEEN THE

HISTORY OF THIS COUNTRY -- GIVE

ME YOUR TIRED AND HUDDLED

MASSES.

YOU CAN'T SAY AMERICA IS

EXCEPTIONAL AND DENY PEOPLE

ACCESS TO THIS EXCEPTIONALISM.

SOLEDAD: THERE'S A NEW STU

THAT SAYS NEWARK HAS SOME

DANGEROUS LEAD LEVELS IN THE

DRINKING WATER.

DO YOU SEE SOME COMMON GROUND

WITH THE PRESIDENT ON

INFRASTRUCTURE WHERE YOU HAVE A

BIG INFRASTRUCTURE CHALLENGE?

MAYOR BARAKA: I HOPE SO.

I THINK HE NEEDS GOVERNMENT --

GOVERNMENT PERIOD NEEDS TO BE

FOCUSED ON INFRASTRUCTURE, WHAT

I CALL THE URBAN MARSHALL PLAN,

TO BEGIN TO PUT MONEY INTO THESE

COMMUNITIES TO DO WITH ROADS,

WATER INFRASTRUCTURE, SCHOOLS.

THE CITY OF NEWARK IS 350 YEARS

OLD THE.

Patrick Kennedy: We Must Treat Addiction Like a Chronic Disease - Duration: 5:09.

STATISTIC.

ACCORDING TO THE CDC, 91

AMERICANS WILL DIE TODAY FROM AN

OPIOID OVERDOSE.

COMPARE THAT TO THE SIX WHO WILL

DIE FROM ALCOHOL POISONING.

IT'S AN EPIDEMIC RAVAGING

FAMILIES WITH ADDICTS STRUGGLING

FROM THE STIGMA, TREATMENT, AND

SHAME.

FORMER CONGRESSMAN PATRICK

KENNEDY IS NO STRANGER TO THAT

SHAME.

HIS CAREER CAME TO AN ABRUPT END

WHEN HE CRASHED HIS CAR INTO A

SECURITY BARRIER ON CAPITOL

HILL.

KENNEDY THOUGHT HE WAS RUSHING

TO RECORD A VOTE AT 2:45 A.M.

KENNEDY WAS AN ADDICT, AND H

ADDICTION WAS A SECRET, AND

SUDDENLY, HE WAS EXPOSED.

PATRICK, THE YOUNGEST CHILD OF

SENATOR TED KENNEDY, KNOWS THAT

SILENCE ISN'T JUST A KENNEDY

FAMILY ISSUE.

IT'S AN AMERICAN ISSUE.

NICE TO TALK WITH YOU.

THE STATISTICS ON AROUND

ADDICTION AND FRANKLY DOUBT FROM

OVERDOSE ARE CRAZY.

THEY ARE SO HIGH, AND YET, THIS

EPIDEMIC FEELS UNCOVERED TO ME.

WHY IS THAT?

REP. KENNEDY: IF THIS WAS

INFECTIOUS DISEASE, WE WOULD BE

FREAKING OUT.

WE WOULD BE SPENDING MILLIONS OF

DOLLARS TO ADDRESS IT.

THINK HOW PANICKED WE WERE ABOUT

EBOLA AND ZIKA.

WE HAVE MORE PEOPLE DYING OF

OPIOID OVERDOSE IN A YEAR TH

WERE KILLED IN THE ENTIRE

VIETNAM WAR.

HAN

WERE KILLED IN THE ENTIRE

VIETNAM WAR.

THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN

COVERED MORE RECENTLY THAN IT

EVER HAS BEFORE, BUT WE ARE

STILL NOT SEEING THE RESPONSE

COMMENSURATE WITH IF THIS WERE

ANY OTHER SET OF ILLNESSES.

WE WOULD BE REACTING A LOT MORE

AGGRESSIVELY.

SOLEDAD: YOU WROTE A BOOK ABOUT

YOUR ADDICTION CALLED "COMMON

STRUGGLE ADDICTION

IT REALLY WORKS THROUGH YOUR

PERSONAL STORY.

IT SEEMS TO ME THE KENNEDYS, AS

I'M SURE YOU HEARD A MILLION

TIMES, ARE ADDICTION."

IT REALLY WORKS THROUGH YOUR

PERSONAL STORY.

AMERICA'S ROYALTY,

AND IF YOU ARE WELL OFF IN

AMERICA AND YOU ARE AN ADDICT,

YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT PATH

COMPARED TO IF YOU HAVE NO MONEY

AND NO ASSETS AND YOU ARE AN

ASSET -- ADDICT.

REP. KENNEDY: WHAT IS COMMON

ABOUT BEING A KENNEDY?

THE IRONY IS, I KEPT MY FAMILY

SECRETS, MY MOTHER'S ALCOHOLISM,

MY DAD SELF-MEDICATING THROUGH

POSTTRAUMATIC STRESS, ALL TO

MYSELF, NOT REALIZING THAT ALL

OF THESE THINGS WERE WRITTEN

ABOUT IN BOOKS ALL THROUGH THE

BOOKSTORE.

YET I WAS PARALYZED BY THE

SILENCE IN MY FAMILY THAT YOU

DON'T TALK ABOUT THESE ISSUES.

SOLEDAD: TELL ME ABOUT YOUR

ADDICTION.

YOU WROTE ABOUT IT A LOT IN YOUR

BOOK.

REP. KENNEDY: I STARTED DRINKING

AT 13.

I THEN STARTED USING COCAINE

SHORTLY THEREAFTER.

I BOTTOMED OUT PRINCIPALLY

BECAUSE OF THE COCAINE AT AGE 17

WHERE I WENT TO DRUG REHAB FOR

THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIF

THAT WAS TO END UP BEING THE

CASE FOR ME ON NUMEROUS OTHER

OCCASIONS AS I PROGRESSED IN MY

ILLNESS, FORGETTING THE FACT

THAT I HAVE A CHRONIC ILLNESS,

AND IT CAN'T BE TREATED WITH ONE

EPISODE OF CARE.

SOLEDAD: HOW MANY TIMES WERE YOU

IN REHAB?

REP. KENNEDY: ABOUT A DOZEN

TIMES.

SOLEDAD: THAT'S PRETTY AVERAGE

PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW OF

ADDICTION THINK ABOUT REHAB AS,

YOU GO, COME BACK, AND YOU ARE

FINE, BUT MOST PEOPLE GO A DOZEN

TIMES OR MORE.

THAT'S THE PROBLEM.

REP. KENNEDY: OUR HEAL

INSURANCE SYSTEM, EVEN THOUGH IT

DOESN'T SYSTEM, EVEN THOUGH IT

DOESN'T COVER MOST PEOPLES

INPATIENT REHAB, IT COVERED A

MINE.

THEY HAVE NO SYSTEM TO TAKING

CARE OF YOU AFTER REHAB OR

DETOX.

THE BIG CHALLENGE WE HAVE IN OUR

MEDICAL SYSTEM IS TO TREAT THIS

LIKE A CHRONIC ILLNESS, LIKE WE

WOULD DIABETES, OR LIKE WE WOULD

ASTHMA.

SOLEDAD: HOW IS YOUR ADDICTION

TODAY?

REP. KENNEDY: I GO TO 12-STEP

MEETINGS EVERY DAY THAT I CAN IF

I'M ON THE ROAD.

IT IS SOMETHING -- I TRY TO LO

FOR A MEETING WHEN I'M ON THE

ROAD.

I'VE MADE IT THROUGH THE PAST

SIX YEARS OF CONTINUES --

CONTINUOUS, UNINTERRUPTED

SOBRIETY.

I'M ABLE TO DO THAT BECAUSE I

HAVE A LARGE SUPPORT GROUP,

PEOPLE ALSO IN RECOVERY WITH ME.

I AM ALSO ABLE TO SAY THAT

BECAUSE I HAVE FAMILY THAT

SUPPORTS ME BEING ACTIVE IN

RECOVERY, WHICH I CAN'T SAY FOR

A LOT OF FELLOWS IN RECOVERY

WHOSE FAMILIES DON'T UNDERSTAND

AND DON'T TRY TO SUPPORT THEM.

I'VE GOT IT ALL.

I AM BLESSED.

I HAVE TO TAKE THIS ONE DAY AT A

TIME, AS EVERYBODY KNOWS IN THE

PROGRAM, AND IF I DO, I WILL BE
