Mercedes C43 AMG REVIEW 434HP RaceChip by AutoTopNL - Duration: 5:47.

Remember our favorite app?

we have a RaceChip car again

with the RaceChip Ultimate connect

so with the app

we can switch it on

3 driving modes

efficiency, sport and race

we always keep it in race

but today

we're starting

with the tuning switched off

so we can experience

the C43 without tuning

we're starting with

everything in its softest setting

so the engine in comfort

the suspension, gearbox

the exhaust

because this car does that really well

the C43 is a really nice daily driver

it's super comfortable

it's quiet

and that's what sets this AMG light

apart from the normal AMG's

those are always 'on'

always hard and loud

a bit on edge

and this C43 is much more

a two faced car

in the front of this

Mercedes AMG C43

is the 3.0 V6 BiTurbo

with 367 HP and 520 Nm

which is really nice already

and it has 4Matic as standard

as opposed to the C63 that doesn't

and when you want to

make this C43 even more fun

you open the exhaust valves

because this car has

the performance exhaust

put it in sport plus

manual mode

you immediately hear

that exhaust coming to life

and you get a lovely 6 cilinder sound

really nice and loud bangs

on the upshift

and it's quite quick

but if you want even more fun

you have to switch on the app

by RaceChip

and then it becomes

a serious competitor

to a standard C63 AMG

because now, in Race mode

it has 434 HP and 643 Nm

and especially that torque

is a lot!

and you really feel that

when you have the app

switched on

and RaceChip

have made this showcar

a little more interesting for us

we have KW springs

which means it sits a bit lower

and is a bit more firm

but you can still use

the AMG drive control system

for comfort, sport and sport plus

for the damping

this means that this car

has a near perfect setup

when it comes to suspension

we're now in sport plus

the most firm setting

I'll switch to comfort

and this is one of the best

setups I've ever experienced

because it's comfortable

but also firm

without being bouncy or shaky

they've done an excellent job

the RaceChip slogan

is 'Simply Faster'

"Einfach Schneller"

but that's not the only thing

they've done with this car

it also has wheels by HRE Wheels

forged ones

in sort of an anthracite color

it looks really good

they fit the car well

especially with that wrap

matte grey with those black lines

it really ties it together

this RaceChip version

of the Mercedes AMG C43 4Matic

is really close

to a standard C63 AMG

and that's really nice

especially because this car

is much better for daily use

with that 4Matic system

coping with that power

in all circumstances

and it's a lot more accessible

I think it's a very original choice

by RaceChip

to go for a C43 AMG showcar

instead of a C63 AMG

there's a bit more potential in here

and it's a lot more obtainable

so if you're watching this

and you have a C43 AMG

or you're planning on buying one

I can recommend to go for

this RaceChip Ultimate connect

because the power is great

it works great

it's smooth

the power delivery is lovely

and this RaceChip C43 AMG

could be sort of a sneak preview

a taste

of what the C63 AMG

will be in the future

that 3.0 V6 BiTurbo

4Matic

and this great sound

which is worthy of an AMG

Méditation Dispenza #3 - 4 règles pour traverser l'espace-temps - Duration: 10:36.

here "blur" symbolizes our mind when it's clouded by indecisions

have you ever tried setting up 5 alarms to try and wake up but it didn't work

have you ever decided to start exercising for real but stopped after only 3 days

have you ever tried to go on a diet but

but as soon as you're left idle

you go straight to the kitchen to get some ice cream

Oh my God

I think meditation is like...

let's not even talk about it, it's too much of a hassle

no one has the time for it

it takes too long !

between you and me,

we're not trees

we can't stand there like plants all day long, just meditating

what's more

we've been told it would allow us to be more energetic

and that it was a time saver

while we actually have to wake up an hour earlier

keep your zen

I will sort it out

I'm going to explain to you how to meditate your way

because if I can do it, you can too

namaste

let's go

the best time to meditate

is in the morning after waking up

or in the evening before going to bed

why ? It's simply because

when you wake up, you get out of a phase of inactivity

and when you go to bed you go back to being inactive

that is when the brain goes through a certain cerebral rhythm

for exemple in the morning

because you awaken

it goes from delta, teta, alpha, then beta

in terms of actual consciousness now

in the evening the opposite happens

personally I meditate in the morning

so it's up to you to decide when you'd rather meditate

- morning or evening -

this time you can make the choice

it's better to meditate

some place where you will not be disturbed

if you can, choose a place you go to every day

that we will call "sacred haven"

that's even better

you also need to avoid meditating on the bed

why ? Because it would be associated to sleep

so it's better to choose a chair with a straight back

or to sit on the floor

knowing that

- you need to consider this -

meditating lasts for about an hour or so

so make yourself as comfortable as possible

the goal when you meditate is to create an other self

therefore it is crucial

that you should avid any contact with the outside world

no stimulation from outside

or cerebral stimulation

it means no distracting smells

like from the kitchen or perfumes

avoid sounds like music or children

or pets

turn off any electrical device

for exemple turn off your computer' internet

put your phone on airplane mode

so no wifi access !

you can listen to a certain track if you'd like

the audio track's link is in the description, with all of Joe Dispenza's books -

there are several you can choose from -

of course you can choose a music to relax but with no lyrics

if you want you can listen to an introductory music to transe

which allows quicker regulation of teta and delta waves

how to meditate ?

it's very simple, there are only a few rules before starting

firstly, it's better to wear comfortable clothes

then, take off any item of jewelry or watch you may wear

they could bother you during meditation

don't forget to drink water beforehand

and keep a glass near you if need be

remember to go to the bathroom before

it would be a shame to have to get up for that

whether you're sitting on a chair

or in the lotus position,

keep your back straight

in order to keep the energy flowing

that way your body will relax

but your mind will be focused

it cannot be compared to sleep

if your head starts swaying

it's completely normal, it means you're entering the alpha,

teta, and delta waves

the more your practise meditation

it will attenuate and become easier to control

before you start

inhale deeply

and exhale slowly

in order to switch from beta to alpha waves

then, Joe Dispenza advises to focus on

- he explains all this in his meditations,

it's analyzed in all the books he recommends,

especially in my personal favourite You are the Placebo

which I will talk about in my next videos

you will have access to all these suggestions, and the links are in the description -

alright so the first thing is to focus on the frontal lobe right here

between the eyes

you're going to concentrate on it

and it will ease the transition from alpha waves to teta waves

that wall you will begin your change

of energy

focusing on the frontal lobe

allows for the lowering of energy flow in the brain

and to regulate time and space

it you don't do it, you'll have a hard time

entering a state with teta waves

which are the ones that will enable you to change

the automatic programs of your brain

don't worry, keep your zen

it will become easier

the more you practise

how much time does meditation take ?

Joe Dispenza's meditation sessions last between 45 and 60 minutes

so you need to plan enough time for a session of that length

if you're in a rush, set an alarm that will ring ten minutes before you need to be done

that way you don't have to end the session too abruptly

being in a rush is useless

if you really don't have time, set that alarm because if you're always focused on the time

otherwise you're choosing the wrong goal for your meditation, it becomes pointless

if you're a beginner, Joe Dispenza's meditation is described very well

meaning that the sessions

are divided into parts, usually 3 or 4

that span several weeks

you will be able to learn about the first step called Induction

which is to feel the space around us and our own body

during the first week for exemple,

then you access the nowhere

of course you don't know these terms but

I'll explain them to you in other videos

right after that one

so this is the second week for exemple

then the last step which is the creating process

it will take place during the third or fourth week,

for exemple

I believe you have all you need

to start meditating, at least you have the fundamentals

then you can watch meditation sessions

to get more and more information

to get a better idea of what meditation is

and what to use as support for meditation

because when you've never tried meditating before

or tried this specific way, with a creating process,

you need someone to guide you

if this video has brought you additional information,

help, or if it answered some of your questions

you can click the blue thumb

new videos with come out soon

and I'll be able to make more after the workshop on meditation

which will happen soon, in Cancun

you can subscribe to my channel Success Eclaire to watch them

in the meantime

you can watch that video again

and learn the rules

I wish you a nice time meditating

Méditation Dispenza #2 - Témoignages et bienfaits de la méditation - Duration: 13:24.

first of all

namaste, my friends.

I'm really happy to talk to you about stories of meditation and its benefits.

Cool ! You'll be able to see how it works,

what good it can do for your body,

and learn about some people' amazing experiences,

- some of which are absolutely incredible -

all of it thanks to meditation sessions

because it can literaly work miracles on you.

I'm going to begin with personal recounts of experiences.

I was able to gather some stories from my relatives and friends,

that I put into an article because I couldn't work it into the video.

So they're all in the article, you can it see right here

and the link is in the description,

you just have to click to receive it.

This article contains

personal stories from my relatives and friends,

my personal story is also in there,

and stories from other people that are completely crazy.

Some of the results were...

you can't even imagine the effects of it.

(A surprise is coming)

There are also the benefits of meditation in the article

which I will talk about.

You can download it in the video.

Meanwhile,

I'm happy to talk to you about my own story.

I've been meditation for five months,

I started in january 2017 so it's been about 5 or 6 months.

It's amazing.

Maybe you're going to think

"sure, but all you're saying is just coincidences, etc".

Yes, maybe that too !

It's all coincidences in life anyways.

On the other hand, all the coincidences I've seen happen in my life

all of a sudden, were big enough

and obvious enough for me to think there is really something there.

It all started at the end of 2016,

when I set myself 4 goals :

the first one was to quit ingeneer school

because I'd had enough of it;

the second one was to train to become a speaker

in personal development

- I really didn't know how to do all that in 2017 -

there was also a trip to win to Cancun,

so I wanted to go there for a week

in may june or july.

The last thing was that I wanted to go to America

and maybe even live there.

Those four goals were set,

but I have no idea they could even be reach.

At first I believed in myself but then I must admit

I totally lost faith

and I thought "Claire, you have to stop dreaming,

it's too big, it's impossible".

4 American Stereotypes I TOTALLY FIT - Duration: 6:40.

Hey everyone Dana here!

Guess what? I can be a pretty loud person sometimes.

Oh. That's no surprise to anyone? Oh okay. Good to know.

So yes, it is a stereotype that Americans can be a little louder at times, and for me

this is true.

In the U.S., people just often seem to talk a little bit louder.

And so especially when I get around other Americans here in Europe, sometimes we do

seem to feed off of each other's excitement, and the volume escalates.

But I am aware of this, and I do try to catch myself when I'm, for example, at a restaurant

in Germany and I notice that my voice is starting to go up in volume a little bit.

But as I've mentioned before, it's all relative!

When I visited Athens a couple years ago, I noticed that I actually fit right in there, or I

was maybe even the quiet one, because I noticed that people there also tended to talk loudly.

Another American stereotype that is true for me is wearing sneakers, also when I'm not

exercising or going to the gym.

Just wearing sneakers, going around town.

These here are my bright pink sneakers and I love them so much.

I love my pink sneakers.

Before I moved to Europe I didn't wear skinny jeans; all my pants got a little wider at

the bottom, and that kind of made more sense with the sneakers.

But now living in Germany, I often wear skinny jeans, and I know it does look a little funny

to have the sneakers with the skinny jeans but I don't care.

No. I don't care at all.

I love my skinny jeans and I love my sneakers.

And I am going to continue proudly wearing those two things together.

Another American stereotype is being optimistic.

And we have plenty of sayings for this: looking on the bright side of things, trying to see

the silver lining of something.

The glass is always half full not half empty.

Looking through rose-colored glasses.

And yes. This one usually fits for me too.

My default setting is often switched to see the brighter side of things rather than dwelling

on the negative side.

Of course this isn't always the case.

But especially for little things, like the weather.

Then my default is to try to see the positive side of the circumstance.

Of course, when something really bad happens, like if a friend's dog dies, I'm not like:

oh, your dog died.

And then pooh-pooh away their sad feelings by forcing them to see the "good" in it.

Like: well, now at least now you don't have to spend money on pet food.

No, definitely not.

I am also compassionate.

And there are definitely times when you just need to feel those sad or otherwise "negative" feelings.

But, like I mentioned before, with the weather; weather is something that can often get in

the way, you know?

You planned a picnic or day at the beach, and then it rains.

But unless it's a hurricane or blizzard or something that could really be devastating

to a place and the people living there, if it's just a little rain getting in the way,

it would often be in my nature to be like: well, this sucks.

Hey, but at least the flowers are getting the water they need.

Or: well, this sucks.

But hey, at least yesterday when we spent the day hiking, yesterday the weather was unbelievable.

Trying to focus on the good of an otherwise small inconvenient situation, rather than

staying focused on the negative.

Moving on now to the last one.

Working really, really hard is another American stereotype.

Feeling pressure to go to work even when you're sick.

Feeling like a slacker when taking time off.

And just this overall feeling of discomfort if you're not doing "enough."

And maybe a distorted view of what is considered "enough."

And, yeah, I definitely find myself feeling these things from time to time.

The last one, this discomfort about needing to do "enough" I think more than the other two.

I've talked about it before in my work-life balance Germany versus the USA video, in Germany

there just seems to be a more balanced approach to work and life.

But I often have trouble remembering that.

I often have this, like, pressure that if I have even a free moment, I need to figure

out some kind of "productive" way to fill that time.

So yeah, reminding myself to just stop and do nothing sometimes is something that I struggle with.

So my question for you is: what are the common stereotypes from your country that you live up to?

Please let me know in the comments below.

Thanks so much for watching.

I really hope that you enjoyed this video.

And now I have three quick little announcements.

First one is that: yes, we have Wanted Adventure T-shirts now!

We have Wanted Adventure T-shirts. I'm so excited.

We have the Wanted Adventure design as well as a couple other designs that I've done for summer.

So you can find a link to check out all those T-shirts down in the description box below.

Thing number two: thank you so much to our patrons on Patreon,

who help make these videos possible.

Thank you so much for your support.

If you would like to check out our page on Patreon, you can find a link to that down

in the description box below as well.

And number three: the little notification bell.

So there is a notification bell that you can ring, you can click it down there if you want

to be notified whenever I put out a new video.

Okay. So those were the three things. That's all for now.

Again, thank you so much for watching.

Until next time, auf Wiedersehen!

But hey, at least yesterday when we spent the weather...when we spent the day hiking.

Not the weather.

Let's take a break.

I forgot to get my sneakers. I have to go grab my sneakers.

Here they are.

And was me...me...me...me...maybe, maybe.

My Wanted Adventure shirt. I'm so excited! So excited!

Thai Curry Paradise: 75+ Dishes You Can Choose - Unbelievable Southern Thailand Food! - Duration: 15:06.

- Wow, that is just a ridiculous,

crazy amount of dishes to choose from.

This place is absolutely insane.

This is curry heaven.

There's so much to choose from,

it's almost like overwhelming.

(upbeat music)

Good morning everyone, it's Mark Wiens

in Nakhon Si Thammarat in southern Thailand.

The plan for today is to go to this restaurant right now

that serves, they have a,

just a crazy amount of different curries,

and after that we're gonna go to a national park

called Khao Luang National Park.

That's the rough plan of the day.

(upbeat music)

We just made it to the restaurant

and look at this amount of curries.

That is ridiculous.

That like, reaches to the end of the horizon down there.

I don't know if I've ever seen so many curries

in one restaurant ever.

Just looking down the line,

there's just about everything you could possibly imagine.

Before I start eating and show you all of the food,

I want to do a quick walk through

of the tables of food

and just all the way down,

just so you can fully see the,

just the abundance of different dishes that they have here.

It's absolutely, it's breath taking,

there's no other way to say it than it's breath taking.

Starting from this end

we've got all the different types of fried fish.

Then moving on you move into the curries.

There are a couple of salads mixed in.

Curries, curries, curries.

More and more curries.

More and more curries.

And then over here you have some stir fry dishes.

More and more curries.

And more and more curries, and more and more curries,

and they just keep on going.

They just keep on going.

And then over here finally, you have some toms

which are different boiled soups to finish it off.

America.

(upbeat music)

If you are ever stumped for what to order,

or for like, you wanna have a variety of different dishes,

this is the restaurant to come to.

Okay I'm gonna go eat now.

I tried to choose some of the unique dishes

that they had here

and the food looks incredibly good.

Just unbelievable, unreal how many choices of dishes

you can eat here.

First dish that I want to try,

and actually this is Ying's favorite dish.

She called it "hoy chu chu"

and that means snails that you, or shells that you kiss,

because you have to like suck them out of the shell.

But I think they might actually be hoy kom

which is a type of fresh snail.

They are in a coconut milk curry,

there are Kaffir limes leaves in here.

And let's test that kissing.

I'll put this onto my rice

and then you can pick one of these out,

they're little, little tiny guys

and you can see the little snail in there.

And so yeah, you really gotta

suck and kiss them to get that snail out.

Okay this guy is not coming out with the kiss method

so I'm gonna have to,

oh thanks for the toothpick.

By the way, I just kissed out some of that curry, which is,

it is spicy and you can taste a lot of coconut milk in there

you can taste some lemongrass, and those Kaffir lime leaves.

There you go, come on guy.

Oh there we go.

These are little just tiny, tiny little bites.

Alright.

Yeah.

It's like squid, almost like squid.

I can also taste black pepper in there,

I can taste all those spices in the curry paste,

and then it's a little bit citrus-y as well.

Moving on to the next station.

This one is, she called it "gaeng taypo hua pla"

and that's, gaeng taypo is a type of, a type of curry,

and then this is with hua pla which is the fish head,

but then this is, gaeng taypo is usually made with

preserved salted fish which I think this is what it is.

So I'll take a piece of this onto the rice.

Get more of that, I love the color of this curry,

it's really really like bright orange.

Oh yeah.

And then what I can do is,

you gotta really navigate, because this is fish head,

you gotta navigate.

Look at the color of that fish.

Wow that looks like, that looks like,

like preserved meat.

Oh that's superb.

The first taste that I taste

is actually like a sourness,

a wonderful sourness.

The fish is salty, but it literally, that fish,

literally, not only is it the color of corned beef,

but it almost tastes like fish corned beef.

That's amazing.

So you got the, the like salty fish preserve,

but it doesn't have a strong fishy taste,

you might not even know that it's fish.

It could almost pass for meat.

Incredibly, incredibly good.

That's really awesomely good.

That is stunning.

Next up, this one is a salad.

She called it a "yam" or mix,

and it is with little crabs, with little rice patty crabs

and then she said this, the main

bulk of the dressing is made from makam,

which is sour tamarind,

and then there's chiles in here, there's shallots in here.

And this is these little patty crabs,

so there's not really a lot of meat,

but the joy of eating these,

it's just kind of chewing on the shells

and sucking out the flavor again.

I'll just pick out this guy.

Let me add on some more of that sauce, that tamarind,

and then just kind of chew this.

Oh that dressing.

That dressing is sweet and sour

and really really garlicky.

And a little bit spicy.

But you can also really taste the tamarind.

And it's sour tamarind,

and they kind of just mash that up

so you can even taste like the bits of the tamarind,

the like seed and pod within there, that's very sour.

And then I got just a little bit of crab,

well there's only a little bit of crab, but it's raw.

So it's kind of slimy to contrast that dressing.

Whoa, that is a lot of flavor.

Let me break off one of these legs.

And what you can kind of do,

you kind of gotta bite it with the front of your teeth

and then, kind of tough to navigate,

and you've got a little bit of,

of meat on the inside there yeah, oh yeah.

You can see there's the crab right there.

And then you can kind of just almost like,

squeeze it out like a tiny tub of toothpaste.

Oh yeah.

It's nice and slimy.

That dressing is amazing though.

Next up is this gaeng kua gai baan.

And this is, it's like a free range chicken

in a really, look at that sauce,

look at that curry sauce.

That color and that thickness.

Onto the rice.

I believe that's a boneless piece.

But there are a lot of non-boneless pieces as well.

This is a curry that never fails in southern Thailand.

It's just a flavor overload of spice and herbs.

Delicious.

And finally we got a yam mamuang salad.

This is a green mango salad.

There's little fish in here,

there are shallots in here and chiles.

Think I got that little fish.

That mango is really really sour

and it has a texture that's not unlike a cucumber,

like a juicy crispness.

The dressing, yeah it is quite spicy,

there's a lot of chiles in there.

And then it's contrasted,

the whole flavor is contrasted by the fish which are,

have a little bit of a fishy dry taste to them.

That goes great with this whole spread of spicy curries.

It's about 11:30 A.M. right now

and the restaurant is pretty full.

But this is a huge, not huge,

but it's a pretty big restaurant.

It's just kind of like an open downstairs of a building,

and literally the entire front

is occupied by all the different curries.

And then they just sort of have a,

almost like cafeteria style dining hall.

Here let me pick up the camera so you can see this.

So they just have like big long family style tables

where you can just grab your food.

You can either order, another tip I want to give you

is that you can either order,

this is called gaap khao,

which means you get a plate of rice

and then you order different dishes like this on the side,

separate.

Or you can order raad khao,

which is where you get one plate of rice

and then they scoop on right onto the plate of rice

your different dishes.

So if you want to eat big, go for gaap khao.

If you want to eat small and light, for for raad khao.

But either way, that's, it's gonna be delicious food.

Let me try again with the snail sucking.

Grab one of these guys, alright.

That came out immediately that time.

But it has a little extra shell on the end

that you don't want to eat.

That was fantastic.

So I just gotta tough one my first time.

Oh it came again.

These are so addictively good.

Here's the aftermath of that meal.

That is a successful meal.

My plate is full of empty shells

and some giant fish bones, fish jaw bones.

Wow that was, that was awesome, awesome food.

One of the things I love so much about Nakhon Si Thammarat

is that I think I've eaten around southern Thailand

and I think Nakhon Si Thammarat, just on a general basis,

the food is the spiciest of all the southern Thai provinces

that I've been to.

So good, my mouth is on fire right now

and I just, I love it.

If you come to Nakhon Si Thammarat, the city,

this is a restaurant you have to eat at.

The actual real name of this restaurant

is Krua Ba Jong

but people locally know it and refer to it as

Khao Gae Suchon Sapan Yao,

and that means, like, awesome awesome rice and curry,

which is next to that bridge,

and the bridge is just down that road.

So this place is an attraction in and of its own

within Nakhon Si Thammarat.

I'm so happy after that lunch, that I can barely even,

I just want to relax.

But a good way to relax

is gonna be to head to the national park

and we're going to a waterfall which is called

Karom Waterfall,

and it is, I just searched it on the map,

it's about 30 kilometers away.

We'll take about 30 minutes to get there.

So we're on our way

to do some relaxing in nature now.

(upbeat music)

We made it to Nam Dtok Karom,

which is Karom Waterfall, or Karom Waterfall.

Immediately as I opened the door of the car,

you can just hear the sound of the jungle,

or the highlight of this waterfall

are the different layers of the waterfall.

There's supposed to be, I'm not sure how many layers,

but a lot of layers of waterfalls.

And it's so green and lush.

And there is multiple layers,

it just keeps like cascading down the mountain.

But I think this is the, is this the fourth?

Is this the fourth layer?

- [Woman] Yeah.

- This is the fourth layer,

but they say you can go to the fifth and sixth

and seventh layer,

but it's a little bit of a hike and kind of steep.

So I'm just gonna quickly go up to the other layers,

and I can't wait to see the other layers as well

and then come back here to take a swim.

I've been doing a lot of eating in Nakhon Si Thammarat

so it feels great to get some exercise

and breathe in this fresh jungle air.

(upbeat music)

Okay I just made it to the seventh level,

and wow, it is the biggest,

yeah it's pretty big, it's beautiful.

(upbeat music)

The main waterfall is right to this side.

And it also goes down like a series of shelves on the rock,

but it's just solid rock,

and you can see that this spring,

and then on this side you have a huge nice pool of water.

That would be really nice for swimming,

but I'm gonna wait to swim until I get back down,

because I want to swim with my family.

(upbeat music)

From where this camera is sitting,

it's hard to see the whole perspective of this,

but this is a really nice pool

at the bottom of a, just, layers of rock waterfall.

And it's this beautiful area,

this is a great place to swim.

(upbeat music)

All of the falls and all the levels

are really really nice to visit

and taking a swim is so refreshing

and so necessary in this climate.

It feels so good.

This is a wonderful thing to do

when you come to Nakhon Si Thammarat,

I'm glad we decided to make it out here.

And it's not too far away from the city,

makes a great little day trip or half day trip,

especially after you eat some delicious curry.

Thank you all very much for watching.

FEAR OF TRANSITIONING [CC] - Duration: 16:34.

[Music]

Chase: Hey guys, my name Chase

and today I'm going to be talking

to you about

the fear

of transition.

[Dramatic sound effects for emphasis]

Spooky

Why am I talking about this?

I'm like seven years on T,

four years top surgery,

all my legal papers have been changed.

I should stop-

No.

Kay, listen toots,

I remember

like it was yesterday,

what it felt like to fear

the idea of transition.

I thought I would make this video to talk about the

experience that I had when I was younger.

To talk about

the way that I found out I was trans

and how I was terrified

to transition, or to even

believe that I was trans

and maybe talk about the things

that I have gone through

and maybe give a little bit of insight

as an older trans person,

in the trans community.

I'm also old.

Kay?

I'm old.

When I look at all these kids transitioning

and they're like twelve years old,

I'm like "oh my god, I'm twenty-six."

Like I feel very old,

but I'm glad that I am here with this amazing platform

to show you that

I did it,

and I am super happy

that I did, and I am

glad that I got through my fear.

So, maybe I can give you some tips on what I did and what I've done along the way.

I realized I was trans when I was fifteen,

[laughter]

and I found some YouTube videos

and I was like "oh my god, is this me?"

And I was really confused for a very long time.

This story, you've heard a million times, but I'm sure

some people have never seen my channel before-

hello, hi, nice to meet you,

please click the subscribe button.

Kidding.

Not kidding.

[laughter]

This was back in 2006

and

hooooph!

I was

I was confused

and I didn't know what to do,

and I made a bunch of videos that I deleted.

I deleted them!

I don't delete anything, I've been taking a picture of my face every single day for seven years.

I like to document every single part of my transition.

I cry and I post videos on it and pictures.

Everything!

Yet, I was like "no, no, no, I can't be trans...

this is disgusting,

I'm gonna delete it."

And as I pressed delete,

and then you go and you have to like permanently delete it from your computer

I go to the recycling bin, I had a PC back then

and I press like delete forever, or whatever it was called back then

and it said "are you sure? They will be permanently deleted."

And I bring the mouse over and I say

"I'm gonna regret this one day."

Boop.

And guess what

I regretted this day.

I am so mad at myself,

I literally

want to go back

to 2007

at that point

and look at myself in the face and

f***ing slap me.

You know why?

Those videos were the rawest,

rawest of me that you would've ever seen

and that was when I was so

scared

and that was the fear of transitioning is in those videos

and I can tell you that I remember what I said and

a part of me is actually glad sometimes that I don't have those videos because literally

it makes me so sad to

think that that's how I felt

and it makes me so sad-

Like I don't even remember sometimes feeling like that,

I just remember

kind of, there's a lot of that I don't remember

because it was so traumatic.

So, I don't remember it.

But kids feel like that

and people who are older feel like that,

that those videos of me

being so confused and it hurts so much.

So,

what did I do?

I literally went back and forth

for so long.

"Yes, I'm trans."

"No, I'm not."

"Yes."

"No."

"No, this is disgusting, I don't wanna be trans, I don't want to do this, this life is so hard, this is gross,

this is disgusting, this isn't me,

this is not the life I want

it's gonna be such a hard life to have."

So, I ignored it for a very long time,

and I had bought all these trans books

and then I had bought all of these trans things,

using my dad's credit card,

and my MuchMusic pre-paid credit card that I had when I was like fifteen.

I got that card literally to buy a binder and a packer, by the way.

And I just had other things

and I just threw them out

and I bought again, and I threw them out

and it was just so overwhelming for me

to have to go through that cycle, because literally

I would say "never again, no!"

And I would sit there and be like "[scoff] it's gonna come back, it's gonna cycle back."

And guess what would happen?

And then I would again go "no, I'm not."

And then it would come back,

and after that happening like six, seven times,

it gets emotionally exhausting, by the way,

and those six, seven times are literally

fear.

That fear is like, imposed onto me,

I was like "I can't do this anymore, this is too much,

I'm just gonna have to accept it, and figure out what I am

and what I'm gonna do."

So, I didn't tell a lot of people, I kind of just walked around it for a very long time,

but I was so scared

and it even came to a point where, after highschool, I told my friends.

I was like "hey, so, I have an appointment with like a gender clinic."

And like

they accpeted me, they didn't even ask questions, they were like "we know."

They were just there for me.

It was really great to have friends like that, who just really didn't care.

I feel like they knew something was up with my gender,

but when I asked them recently, they were like

"we just supported you with whatever you needed to do, we just wanted you to be happy."

But even with my family-

oh no, not my family, sorry,

my friends,

basically family,

my friends' support

I was still terrified

and then when I didn't get into that clinic, because I wasn't trans enough,

they said that, by the way,

they literally said "hey, you're not accepted because you're not trans enough,

but we'll give you some free therapy

with an intern who's doing her master's."

And I was like

"I don't even know what that means, but okay."

So, I got therapy.

I didn't like it at all.

It was horrible, I don't feel like I got anything out of it honestly,

but I did it just because I could do it,

and I was so scared for the eight months that I did therapy with her.

"Do I transition?"

"Do I not transition?"

And it was

so hard because I felt like I was in the middle,

I always felt like I was

non-binary.

That term was never a term that I had heard of before,

it was more genderqueer,

or gender neutral.

I don't even think genderfluid, that I had ever heard that before either.

So, I thought I was more genderqueer

and

they, in their minds, saw that as "you're not trans."

Like you don't know that you're trans-

You really need to know you're trans to get into this program.

I'm like "what's the point of this program then?"

Because they're the ones who decide when you transition,

they're the ones who decide when you go on T, and when you can have top surgery.

Yeah, cool, like "oh my god, surgery is covered here."

They decide when you're read though.

And that's like, the biggest gatekeeping of all gatekeeping.

It's like - god, the heaven's door

not letting you in because you stole a gum when you were like five years old or something.

I really need to come up with some better analogies, honestly,

but

point was, is I was terrified, okay?

And I didn't know what to do

at this point, so I just,

I just dove in.

Not advice I would give people, okay?

I dove in, I found my own endocrinologist,

I got my letter from a therapist,

and I just went

and I got on T, and I swear to god,

I was so excited, "oh my god, I get T!

June 16th, 2010,

today's the day!"

I go to my endo, I pick up my prescription, I go to the clinic,

this sounds like a song,

the nurse gives me my shot, and I swear to god,

even the second before my shot

I swear to god, I was so excited,

there's pictures of me, I look like I'm so excited,

I was fucking terrified.

I was terrified!

I was

so scared

that I was going to regret this, and the fear of transitioning

is like the fear of regret.

It's almost like those are the two same things

and they're so similar, and they're so intertwined

and one cannot live without the other.

That's what it felt like.

[deep inhale]

And that's not what it is, literally

I just didn't know what it was, so I went on T

and I was on it for a year, and I was like "you know what? I don't wanna be on T anymore." And I went off.

For me to be able to do that, that took balls, honestly,

I don't like that term, but like

that took courage, I guess?

I don't like that because it kinda associates with

whatever.

It took a lot of courage for me to be like "no, I'm gonna go off T and I'm gonna talk about it to you."

I got so much hate.

"Our lesbian is coming back

to us, oh she's coming back!"

All of these things from all of these radical feminists.

And it was not fun to deal with, but I did it for myself,

and like eight to ten months later, I went back on T.

I was so scared.

And there was so many things I was scared of and the reason why I went off of T,

I was scared,

that I, not that I was making the wrong decision, because I wasn't detransitioning. I was still me,

I was still Chase, I was still male, I was still trans.

I just felt like I needed to take control over my body,

because I feel like for such a long time, I never had control.

The hospital didn't accept me in that program, I had no control over transitioning.

Then I got this random therapist, no control.

I had to like control and like go get some T, but then someone had to give it to me,

and I had to have a letter, and I had to pay for the letter, and I had to have all of these things

that were just so exhausting to deal with and I never felt like any of it

was, was fair

and that it's not fair that I have to go through all of this, so I said "you know what?

Let me do something

for myself. I feel like I need to be off T,

and I don't even care at this point. I'm gonna go off of T,

because that's what I want, and I'm gonna take control over my body."

And that's what I did, and I'm really glad that I did

because it made me realize how much I need to be on T.

And I don't regret going off T for one single day.

I'm very, very, very glad that I did.

And I think that after

realizing that I can take things into my own hands,

I realized that the fear of transitioning was

more like the fear of not having control.

Which is very funny, because in transition

you're kind of molding your body into how you feel inside.

But it doesn't feel like that when you have people like

"mmph, you're not trans enough."

"Mmm, I can't give you a letter."

"Mmm, I'll give you a letter, but for a hundred and forty dollars."

Really? Why do the gatekeepers gotta exist?

Why can't we just have clinics everywhere that have informed consent?

You go in, they tell you everything you need to know about T,

you do your own research, and then you sign and then you get T,

and it's literally that easy.

If it was that easy, I feel like,

yes, you still have the fear of transitioning, it's still there, "am I doing the right thing? Is this right?"

"Are people gonna accept me?" And all of these other things that you could think of,

but I feel like, for me,

that would've made my life so much easier.

Yes, there are informed clinics everywhere now, that's fantastic.

There was one in Montreal, the waitlist was two years,

I literally was like, "I am not waiting that long."

So, I got myself an endo,

and I did it by myself, and like seven months later I got a call from the place,

"Hey, do you want your T now?"

And I was like "no, I did it by myself."

So, there's just a very long waitlist and that-

No.

It didn't end there though,

because then I booked my top surgery,

and I cancelled it,

because I wasn't ready,

and I was like "I'm taking control over my body.

I'm not gonna do something that other people are gonna expect me to do."

And then I booked it the next year, and I did it.

And I was terrified

and I was so scared, but

I remembered what it was like to go off of T,

I remembered what it was like to

cancel my initial surgery date in 2012,

and instead, I'm now in 2013,

I'm crying because I'm so anxious about

my

top surgery that is coming up in two weeks.

I made a video "Top Surgery Anxieties", I am crying in this video.

'Cause I am so scared, because it's a surgery, and I remember how I feel.

It was so hard for me, it was-

to accept that I have to modify my body in order to be happy with myself

and it's not that I can have so much,

so much therapy to accept myself,

it's that I've always felt that I needed a flat chest.

The second that I started growing the titty, when I was like 8,

I was like "okay, but when can I wear a t-shirt again?"

How sad is that that an 8 year old is thinking that? And I'll never forget

ever in my entire life, I know exactly where I was the first time I thought that,

and I thought that my entire life, until

the fucking day that I got top surgery

and that day changed my life forever

and after realizing I did what I needed to do and that I'd finally completed my body,

the fear of transition is now a thing of the past

I don't fear

transition anymore, I embrace it.

And I am so glad and so privileged

to be at a place that I can do that.

Yes, bottom surgery might be something that I would want in the future,

I'm not sure yet, who knows? I don't fear it

as a part of my transition, I fear it-

-bless you, Minou-

as a part of

maybe like the complications

or how long it's gonna get me to get there or something like that,

but it's more like I-

that's what I fear, I don't fear the aspect of

moving along in my transition.

And maybe it is because I'm like 7 years on T,

4 years top surgery now,

and that I've grown into this person that I can accept and love who I am,

and love my identity as a trans person.

And I think that the fear of transitioning was so embedded in the

"am I trans enough?"

And me not accepting that I'm trans.

Even though I make these videos for like the last six, seven, ten years,

whatever, how many times I've been making these,

how many years I've been making these videos,

it's still very hard to accept

that this is who you are,

and 100% love yourself for being trans.

And I am at a place right now, where I can say I 100% am okay

and love that I am trans.

It sucks that I don't gotta peen,

but I can always have surgery.

I can have phalloplasty, if I want in the future,

to get that, and that's great.

But other than that,

the only other things I can think of that suck about being trans are

if there's something wrong with my documents and

one of my papers wasn't changed legally and I get mail with my birth name on it

and I wanna kill someone.

Or if I'm bleeding, or something like that happens and I have to go on hormone blockers and deal with all these things.

Those are the parts of transition that I hate,

and that makes me hate being trans,

but

me loving who I am,

I am the person I am today because I am trans.

I would not change that for- I have suffered

so much, but in the last years

even suffering through things that aren't even trans related, I've realized that

that suffering as

horrible as it was, and how I wanted to die,

and I didn't want to deal with it,

have made me this person.

This person who can stand here

in my room, in this

apartment that I rent

for myself. I make my

living reviewing products for the community,

I'm a grad student, I do all of these other projects and all of these things,

I can tell you, I can sit here,

I can stand,

and tell you,

I'm okay with who I am and I'm alive

and this is really hard for someone to accept,

but if I was 15 and somebody had said

"Hey, I'm 26 and I have a life, and it's not just about being trans, but I love who I am, because the person that I am

has only manifested itself because of my trans identity

and I embrace that so

so much, it's the core of my identity, to me is

embracing who I am

and who I am is trans,

and that's me."

Please remember though, I don't represent the entire trans community,

this is how I feel inside my body.

There are a lot of trans people who do not like

their trans identity, and

treat their trans-ness as more of a medical condition

and transition medically,

hormones, surgery and then kind of go stealth and don't really talk about being trans.

More power to you, you do what you need to do, boo.

You do you.

I'm on the other side,

where I have medically transitioned,

yes, but I don't see my

trans-ness as a medical condition.

It technically is, but

I see it more as a part of my identity and I embrace who I am

and I exploit it for the internet, let's be real.

Anyways, the fear of transition is there,

but don't

be scared of,

of really

looking into yourself, and

what this fear comes from,

why, why are you feeling this?

Talk to other trans people who are

in the same spot as you, or in

and older transition, so if you're not on T yet,

they're on T, or if you're on T and you're not sure about top surgery, talk to someone who's had top surgery,

because I guarantee they had some issues.

Yeah, I want top surgery right now, but you can't tell me for one second, in your head you weren't like "ooh."

Because even if "ooh," is "oh, it's surgery." You still had an "ooh," moment

and that "ooh," is fear.

I don't know. In my opinion.

[claps] For me.

I don't represent the whole community though. Anyways, let me know what you think

about this concept, let's have a conversation and I will see you guys soon.

I love you all so much, have a great week,

bye!

#AskJon: How do I know if my news is newsworthy? - Duration: 0:48.

This is the age-old question that PR firms and clients have been dealing with

since PR was created. Right? What is newsworthy. What bubbles up to be

worthy of news coverage. So, where I would start, would be research. Look at the

media outlets that you want your client to appear in. See what they're covering.

See more importantly what they're not covering. And, see if the news that your

client has asked you to create bubbles up to the level of coverage. If it

doesn't, then you have to go back and have a serious conversation with your

client about whether the news is worthy enough for coverage or whether you need

to work with them to create something that's even more newsworthy.

Alexandre, Jérôme, Daniel - "I really recommend it to everyone" - Duration: 3:41.

I'm Jerome, I work in Decathlon Mataro (Spain) for 1 year

I have had the opportunity to spend some days in Lille and to live a Decathlives!

Hello my name is Dani

I work on Decathlon Mataro, Decathlon Spain, next to Barcelona

I came to Lille because they offer us the opportunity to discover all the Decathlon Strategic points

like Btwin Village & Campus and all the others around

and I am enjoying so much the experience such is Decathlives.

Hi I'm Alex, I'm living in Lille

And I'm working for Decathlon around Lille a bit more than 2 years now

I'm passionate about sports and precisely cycling

But it's always a pleasure through Decathlives to discover a new sport

Or just experience one I already practiced

Yes it is the first time I live Decathlives experience as I said before

and I was eager to live it so much.

Because the truth is that I was using different travel platform to get accomodation like Couchsurfing in the past

which is the idea of Decathlives but inside Decathlon

then I did not have too much fear and even less after receiving the Alex's hospitality and kindness.

We are having a very nice experience.

I'm lucky as well to meet these 2 guys

Because I love their mindsets, they are like me actually

They love to go out, they love to meet people

So I found myself in their personalities and we had a really good time

Yesterday, we went to a local restaurant as Jérôme said

And they loved the local food. Dani fell in love with the welsh

So, if you have the opportunity to come in Lille, just try it, it's amazing!

And it's only half of the experience because tonight we will cook at my place actually

With a lot of friends so it will be spanish cooking session

And they will bring as well their culture in Lille and share it with the people around

So I think we will have a great experience for these 2 days together

And I'm really happy to meet guys like you

Come to a hotel, we can do it at any time.

But the advantage of Decathlives is that we will have a complete different experience

It will not a cold room

We are with a local person, who knows the city, who knows Decathlon because he works here

And he shares with us others things

It's really a plus.

I had the opportunity to travel before for store launching or for other projects with Decathlon

And at the evening, we come back to the hotel. There is no added value

With Decathlives, we enjoy the experience from the landing to the leaving

And I really recommend it to everyone

that a donation to the Alumni Green would be a great way to

honor not only our family but also my wife Sharon's family.

[SHARON] They have very fond memories of Brookings. They were

very active in their alumni gatherings and hosted it for

many years in Huron. They were instrumental in all six of their

children attending. Hopefully, in one more year, we can have

My Car Camping Morning Routine - Meditation, Coffee, Avocado!! - Duration: 4:05.

I just woke up this is my mountain bike and my backpacking gear for later in the

week so it's a little crowded in here

good morning I am in my car I just woke up I'm out on a nice I don't know

seven to ten day adventure in the desert my hair is naughty and today I wanted to

share with you of my morning routine when I'm car camping the mornings are my

favorite time of the day it's a very like sacred special moment especially when I

am out camping by myself and in this case I am car camping so I have a few

luxuries like a French press and some coffee over there so I just wanted to

share with you what I do and why I love being outdoors and camping so much the

first thing I'm going to do is get out of this car because its getting a little hot in here so I

just got in my car and this view it's called the little Grand Canyon and it's

so pretty let me show you whoa

so as I said from my other videos I love to have a practice of gratitude in the

morning and also I always do a lesson from A Course in Miracles the idea

behind it is I start the day with thankfulness you start the day aligning

your mind with love and then throughout the day you're more likely to make

decisions from that place instead of letting fear and anger frustration or

jealousy or anxiety stress any of the many forms of fear run wild in your mind

so that's what I'm gonna do right now in this awesome space right here I'm just

going to read my lessons and just breathe in this awesome quiet place

there's no one around or at least no one awake okay so now that I've done my

morning thankfulness and meditation I'm going to make some coffee Ive got a lot of stuff

here that I would normally not to be taking if I was trying to pack light

so this is definitely a luxury and I'm going to make some coffee right here

put you down too many things in my hands

okay so that's kind of it for my morning routine not much of routine it's not

like I do the exact same thing every time but in general I do wake up and be

grateful and practice a lesson from a course in miracles have some coffee then

right now I'm just going to probably sit here and enjoy this peace and quiet in

this beautiful Canyon and an avocado because they're delicious and maybe draw

some mandalas and then get ready to go more exploring I am so happy to share my

morning with you thank you so much for watching and be sure to subscribe like

it if you liked it and I will catch you in the next video

Jim Thorpe - the Best Athlete you've never heard of. - Duration: 5:30.

In 1999 Congress recognized an athlete of the century

it wasn't Babe Ruth or Michael Jordan. In 2001 the Wide World of Sports named

their athletes of the century and it wasn't Muhammad Ali. They both named Jim

Thorpe as the athlete of the century. Thorpe is probably the best athlete you've

never heard of. He was born in 1888 to a half Irish Dad and a Mum that was

French and Native Americans. Thorpes' Indian name was the Bright Path. He had a

complex childhood with his twin brother died at the age of eight and his mother

died six years later. He found school difficult and often ran away from school.

His Father struggled with him and in 1904 sent him to a federally funded

Indian School in Pennsylvania. It was here that athlete ability was

noticed for the first time. One day he was walking past a track-and-field practice.

He saw athletes struggling to clear a high jump. Thorpe walked up wearing his casual

clothes and easily cleared the 5 foot 8 inch high jump bar. The legendary coach Pop

Warner took thought under his wing and quickly trained him for track and field

events. Thorpe would regularly go to meets, compete in seven or eight events and

consistently win six goals. He was soon added to the football squad and earned

all-american honors in 1908. He became particularly famous in 1911 when as

running back, defensive back, place kicker, and punter he scored all of his team's

points while beating Harvard a top ranked team. He was a natural athlete

been in football, baseball, lacrosse, and even ballroom dancing winning in the 1912

national forum dancing championship. In 1912 his football team won the

championship with him scoring 25 touchdowns and a 198 points

It was the same year when playing against future President

Dwight Eisenhower being rushed for 97 yard touchdown. The game had such an

impact on Eisenhower that during his speech of 1961 he said "Here and there

there are some people who are supremely endowed, my memory goes back to Jim Thorpe

thought he never practiced in his life but he could do anything better than any

other football player I ever saw." Thorpe was awarded all-american honors

in both 1911 and 1912 and besides starring in football and track and field

excelled in other sports such as baseball, lacrosse, basketball, golf,

swimming, billiards, rowing, hockey, and boxing. He went on to play professional

football and professional baseball. He ended his 1919 baseball season with a

.327 battling average. Thorpe represented America in the 1912 Olympic

Games dominating both the decathlon and pentathlon. In the pentathlon he won four

of the five of events. Long jump, 200 meters, discus and 1500 meters. In the decathlon

he set a record in the 1500 meters and with 8412 points

he brought the decathlon world record by 998 points the king of Sweden was so

impressed he said to thought you sir are the greatest athletes in the world when

he returned to the US he received a lot of public praise and a massive parade he

was heard saying I heard people yelling my name

I couldn't realize how one fella could have so many friends. The president even

recognized him as a great American citizen which is a little bit ironic

because of his race and birth place he wasn't actually entitled to be an American

citizen. Unfortunately because prior to the

Olympics in 1909 he had spent one season playing semi-professional baseball a

scandal occurred and he had to return his gold medals because professional

players were not allowed of the Olympics. After the Olympics he continued to play

professional baseball and football and in 1920 Thorpe was named the first

president of the American Professional Football Association now known as a

National Football League he's considered instrumental in starting professional

football in the US. While he lost his gold medals he

received a lot of other recognition he was voted America's best all-around male

athlete chosen as the best football player of

the half-century in 1950, named greatest American football player in history in a

1977 poll, inducted into the Pennsylvania and Oklahoma Hall of Fame, the National

Indian Hall of Fame, the National Track and Field Hall of Fame, the National

Football Hall of Fame and the Helm's Professional Football Hall of Fame. For

the last 20 years of his life Thorpe took various often low-paying jobs to

support his family. When he died in 1953 he was so poor that

his family sent his body to two towns in Pennsylvania neither of which he had

ever visited in exchange for them creating a Memorial merging and renaming

the new town Jim Thorpe. A movie about his life was

created in 1951 called "Jim Thorpe - All American" and in 1982 the

International Olympic Committee restored his amateur status and his record given

his relatives replicas of his 1912 gold medals. The story of Jim thought doesn't

just tell us about the past but also about the future perhaps the most

staggering part of this story is not his incredible achievement in such a broad

range of sports but rather that the name of the man who was once considered the

most famous athlete in world is all but forgotten from general knowledge within

a hundred years. Do you think that Usain Bolt, Tom Bradley, Tiger Woods, or Michael

Phelps will be well known in 100 years? If you enjoyed this video give me a
