I got involved with Radiating Hope about four years ago, 2014.
I knew Larry Daugherty, the cofounder of Radiating Hope.
We both lived at Jacksonville, Florida, at the time.
They were looking for an executive director position,
and thought I might be able to help Radiating Hope in that capacity,
and invited me to come along. I told them I would be happy to do it
and serve in that position for one year, and here we are four years later,
still going strong, trying to complete our mission,
and do some good for people who need it.
Cancer has affected my life like it has almost everyone on the planet.
For my story, my dad contracted colorectal cancer in 2002.
He received the best treatment because of where he lived, in the United States.
He was actually treated at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Because of the treatment he received there,
we were able to receive seven extra years with him.
He passed away in 2009, but I consider his case a huge success story,
because we were given so much more time with him,
his quality of life was so much better because of the professionals that treated him,
and because of the equipment that was available to him.
What made the story really incredible was, that after
I started working with Radiating Hope in 2014, the following year,
the Mayo Clinic contacted us and asked us if we wanted to receive a linear accelerator.
They were replacing it with a new one, it was a Varian model.
Varian partnered with us and helped us to take that machine
and place it in Tanzania where it is today.
I just thought it was really an incredible coincidence
that my dad was treated possibly on this machine at the Mayo Clinic
and then here we are, our organization Radiating Hope,
taking that machine and being able to place it in Tanzania.
Thousands of families will be able to go in and not just receive a diagnosis
but be able to receive treatment. And that treatment is life giving treatment.
We at Radiating Hope believe that everyone around the world,
regardless of what country they live in,
deserves access to care and treatment for cancer.

It's a foam that I use in aluminium case and this one is 2cm thickness

Now I cut it to 1,5cm wide stripes
This will depend on foam that You will use

And insert rim
This one is wider on one side so make it from axle side

She finally returned home to the White House, and her critics and fans alike have wondered
where she's been.
Since she just had a surgical procedure, it's likely that she was simply resting and having
some downtime.
Perhaps she's uncomfortable and relaxing.
Perhaps she's busy working on something important.
Regardless, the critics have gone after her from the moment she returned from the medical
center, and they keep going after her now.
People want to know why they haven't seen Melania Trump in a few weeks.
Those same people probably have friends or family who they haven't seen in weeks either.
However, since the first lady hasn't felt like spending every moment in front of the
mainstream media, the media now assume there's something going on, and they begin speculating
all sorts of weird conspiracies.
While some people craft their story about where Melania has been, there are others who
have broken down her Tweets and now believe Donald was Tweeting for her.
Either people have absolutely nothing better to do, or they were just mad about what Melania
wrote.
Perhaps people were so bothered, and bitter over Melania's Tweet that they wish Donald
had said it.
Not so fast.
A simple Tweet was sent after Melania caught wind of the mainstream media's obsession
with where she was, and this Tweet caused the southern side of the afterlife to freeze
over faster than a freeze-pop in Antartica.
This Tweet sent the critics into an uproar accusing Melania of letting Donald post on
her account.
People were losing their minds over one single Tweet, because she used the word "overtime"
just like Donald once used.
There's a lot of words we all use, but that doesn't mean we're all the same person.
Either way, the social media critics would have their fun and criticize her.
They soon received a bit of payback though, it seems like Melania didn't care what they
said.
She posted a nice update to let people know she's well and working, but of course, that's
not ever good enough for the people who simply hate her existence in the White House.
You know what they say about haters, right?
Mirror wrote this: "Melania Trump has finally acknowledged her 'disappearance', after
weeks out of the public eye with a tweet, but questions are already being asked over
who actually wrote it.
The First Lady was last seen 21 days ago, when she joined her husband to meet American
hostages coming home from North Korea.
Since then she's been treated at a medical centre for a kidney condition, with the president
tweeting his heartfelt congratulations to his wife on her recovery on May 19.
Although he managed to call her Melanie instead of Melania, it was at least an acknowledgment
she appeared to be on the mend.
Yesterday, some eleven days later, a message was posted on Mrs Trump's Twitter profile.
Although in recent days she had also posted messages about Memorial Day and America's
military, this was the first time she appeared to directly address the speculation on her
whereabouts.
However, the tone and phrasing of the message seemed out of character with many questioning
whether she actually wrote it.
A number of the phrases in the tweet not only sound like the sort of thing her husband would
say, they actually appeared in previous tweets of his.
"Working overtime" is a common Trump phrase, as is his endless obsession with how the media
reports on him and his family.
It didn't take long for people on social media to turn the post into a running joke,
with many referencing the fact the message was put up, on the same day Kim Kardashian
turned up at the White House."
Can't they all find something better to do?
Does every Tweet by the President and his wife need to be analyzed, and turned into
conspiracy theories?
Wasn't it enough to take the message at face value, be happy she's doing well, and
hope that she's working on something amazing?
Social media has turned our world into a babbling brigade of blithering critics, just spending
way too much time overanalyzing things and looking for trash to throw on the Trump family.

This is a new low, even for CNN, who is basically in the gutter, at this point.
After Roseanne Barr tweeted out an attack on a former Obama top aide, CNN wasted no
time attacking President Trump and all of his supporters.
Now, in order to really push home their "racism" narrative, CNN is going to war on Trump supporters,
and bringing on guests who claim that every single person who voted for President Trump
is "racist."

Most of the people who appear on CNN are, unsurprisingly, liberals.
However, every so often, a guest veers so far to the left that even the hosts are surprised
by what that person says.
That was the case on CNN's Wednesday morning show New Day, when Michaela Angela Davis responded
to a question posed by new co-host John Berman.
He asked if Roseanne Barr "felt empowered" by President Donald Trump to make the racist
remarks that led to the cancellation of her ABC sitcom.
"Absolutely," the culture critic responded before going so far as to claim that everyone
who voted for the Republican during the 2016 presidential campaign is a racist.
Berman's question seemed reasonable enough for someone on CNN, as he continued:
The argument that some people are making, that Roseanne Barr maybe felt empowered to
talk like this because of President Trump….I mean, look, she's got a history of saying
things like this completely on her own that have gone back before this administration.
How do you counter that with the "rapid-ish" response from ABC?
"Well," Davis replied, "they made a connection together….when Trump…touted
her ratings, almost took credit for them" as the president and the comedian "made
their relationship clear."
The guest then claimed that the Republican occupant of the White House "made it more
popular, I think, to be openly racist."
As if that wasn't liberal enough, she added: "I think it's important that we don't
make Trump seem this untouchable thing, you know, that no one gets to be Trump but Trump.
Tens of millions of people voted for him after he showed his cards for years."
Obviously caught off guard by the comment, Berman gave the guest a chance to walk back
her remark: "But are you suggesting that they're racist?"
Davis nevertheless replied: "Absolutely, yes."
All of the people that voted for Donald Trump are racist?" the co-host asked again.
"Yes," she stated.
"They may not all be violently racist," but Trump is "very clear and strategic"
in his use of the "anti-blackness" that "has been the foundation" of his political
life.
"We have to grapple with the idea that…you heard someone at their rallies say 'Build
the wall and kill them all.'"
"Listen," fellow co-host Alisyn Camerota interrupted, "you know that people interpret
this differently, and to paint with as broad a brush as you are, saying that everybody
who voted for him is racist, you know how people operate."
"They'll compartmentalize, and they'll say that people had compartmentalized during
Bill Clinton," Camerota added, "and you overlook the things that you're uncomfortable
with because you like the policy, so you can't paint with that broad a brush."
Davis still refused to back down, asserting: "Racism isn't broad, so what you're
not hearing is there's so many different levels of racism and how it works itself out."
As NewsBusters previously reported, this isn't the first time Davis startled her CNN hosts.
In September of 2016, the Black Lives Matter sympathizer responded on CNN to the fatal
shooting by police officers in North Carolina of an armed black man by bemoaning white "brutality"
and defending violent protesters as "burning down the plantation."
When choosing people to be guests or panelists on CNN, the network usually makes safe selections
of people who are fellow travelers on the left side of the road.
However, it is certainly refreshing when one of those visitors forces the hosts to walk
back something even they can't deny is too liberal for the viewers of that cable channel.

I'm Bad At YouTube - Duration: 8:27.
My foundation shade has had me looking
like Donald Trump this entire time
that I have been wearing this particular shade,
and nobody has ever told me.
Oh, dear.
(pen scratching)
(ringing)
So, I've been absent from YouTube a little bit,
kind of back and forth, I've been here,
and then I've not been here,
and then it's just
uploads have been kind of spotty lately.
When 2018 happened, I was so excited
to get more content out.
I even wanted to upload three times a week.
I wanted to upload two regular videos,
and then I had the, I had to Get To The Poynt series
that was gonna be like my third upload of the week.
And, to be honest, I might be scrapping that entirely,
because it doesn't seem to be doing that well
in terms of engagement.
The views are there, but like getting the questions
from audience is kind of meh.
And, basically, things started falling off a little bit
the second half of March, because April was a busy week.
I had two major presentations to do
in a different language in the same week.
One was a 15 minute presentation,
and one was an hour plus an hour social,
and, in the second half of March,
I was just like, I need to focus on these two things,
because these are two speaking gigs.
One that I'm being paid for and one that I'm not.
But still, it doesn't matter.
It was still something that was important.
Maybe the paid one a little more so,
because, if I don't do a good job,
why would they pay me, right? Yeah.
So I put a lot of focus on that,
and I was just kind of like,
okay, I need to cool it down with YouTube
for just a little bit.
Well, actually, when I would get back from D.C.,
and after I would be done with Greensboro, my work there,
I would have a week until Playlist.
And I wasn't gonna do anything with my Playlist workshop
until after I finished my two presentations at Gallaudet
and at Greensboro, because there wasn't enough time.
But here's what happened after I got back from D.C.:
I got sick.
And not just your average cold
that I probably wouldn't be able to do any speaking videos,
but I would try to come up with ideas
that I could translate from English to ASL
and then make videos on those.
It was not that kind of average cold.
I had no energy.
I had bronchitis that was just painful.
It had me throwing up,
and it was just a terrible week.
And I still ended up going to Playlist.
Why did I do that?
I really, I don't understand why I did that,
because going on that plane to Florida hurt so much,
and I did nothing in Orlando at Playlist
except for be in my hotel room in bed
the whole weekend.
And the night before my workshop I canceled it,
because, one, I didn't finish the workshop,
I barely started on it,
and, two, I just wasn't gonna be able to go up there.
I wasn't gonna be able to get out of bed,
get on a golf cart, and actually go over there,
because I was too busy not being able to breathe,
having literally no energy,
I was just falling asleep whenever.
And I couldn't talk, and I wasn't gonna sign either,
because I just couldn't think.
Plus, I would be spending every two seconds
either coughing or vomiting, basically.
Vomiting because of the coughing.
And when I got back from Florida,
I went to the doctor,
and, you know, I was starting to get a little bit better
because I had antibiotics.
And then as far as the cold went,
I was just taking regular cold medicine.
And once I was finally done with,
I was like I'm gonna start doing stuff (talking very fast).
And my boyfriend, who, by the way I'm with
somebody knew, just so you know,
he came down here from Jersey,
and he was gonna spend four days with me.
And I thought, okay, I'm going to film like six videos
so that I have three uploads for the week,
and then some extra for the next week,
so I didn't have to rush any uploads.
Yeah, that didn't happen.
Because my bronchitis was still hangin' on,
but also, I'm someone who is tired
all of the time.
It's like, part of it was depression.
I mean, I've had another depression episode
going on for a while now, that's been acting up.
But also I'm like chronically fatigued, if you will.
I'm just tired all of the time.
I just have no energy.
So when I would get ready and want
to go do something, it just wasn't going to happen.
I didn't want to get ready,
and then I didn't want to actually film, and all of that.
So then Will is here, and then Will goes.
That's his name.
If you couldn't figure that out.
And then he goes, and I'm like, okay,
so I'm going to film.
I was going to film this past weekend.
But, you know what happened?
Migraine.
Right after everything else, I had a migraine,
so I wasn't uploading for another two weeks,
and I missed this past Monday,
and now I'm finally here on a Tuesday,
recording with make-up that doesn't match me.
So, the reality is,
I am sick and tired all the time.
And I'm sick and tired of always being tired.
I'm still kind of sick.
I'm still a little bit nasally.
And, it's just,
I feel like it's not gonna end right now.
There's also stuff like the lack of motivation,
which is a common occurrence, that kind of,
the depression, and making me less motivated,
and makes me feel like it's not worth continuing YouTube
because it's not...
And, you know, I can't even say
that it's not going where I want it to go.
Well, I guess not really, because I had these visions,
and it's not, they're not matching up.
But my numbers are doing pretty decently
for someone who hasn't even uploaded,
which is very strange.
But, like, it's been difficult to think
of topics to talk about, which is funny to say,
because I have topics all over in my phone,
but trying to put words in a video is what's so hard.
But, you know, to make up for the lack of YouTube content,
you know, I'm still streaming on Twitch pretty regularly
from Sunday through Friday.
Sometimes on Saturday, if I'm not filming.
Because why not?
I have nothing else to do.
I've kind of been losing my motivation with Twitch,
because May has been kind of a bad month
for me for Twitch.
And that's kind of put me down.
But, I mean, I'm new on Twitch.
I'm not gonna expect, like,
I can't expect magical numbers so fast.
By the way, you should follow me on Twitch.
I need to bring some of my YouTube viewers
and subscribers over to Twitch.
So, if you like video games, it's just me chatting.
So you go, I SIMCom in it, I try to SIMCom in it,
and we got fantastic mod that transcribes as much as he can.
So, it's a stream that is as accessible
as I can make it possible.
Was that grammatically correct?
But, yeah, I'm finally being able to film, you know.
I don't know.
Yesterday it was like, okay, I'm going
to exfoliate my face,
I'm going to do a nice face mask,
that's going to get all the crap out of my face
and then I'm gonna do a sheet mask to moisturize my face,
because it's taken a beating from being sick for so long.
I'm gonna wash my hair,
and then I'm gonna use my new make-up,
'cause I bought some new make-up.
And, you know, here I am, and
then you know what else?
Is it a tropical storm?
It's a sub-tropical storm?
Whatever. Alberto.
Alberto, man, has been makin' its way uptown.
And it's makin' the weather like crap.
Except now it's sunny, but like,
literally fifteen minutes ago, there was a downpour.
But now it's sunny.
Yeah, it's kind of just where I've been lately.
Like I've been wanting to do all this content,
and then when it gets to doing the content,
something happens.
Whether it's mental,
physical,
this.
But now I'm definitely tryin' to get back into it.
For real.
And I'm trying hard.
And, you know, my mood is a little bit better right now.
And I'm not booked for anything until October,
which, by the way, rikkipoynter.com,

I hope you're having super happy day so far today I am
pumped for this video because I am doing that my Instagram followers control my
life for a day challenge so if you haven't heard of it
it is this trend video that is super popular on YouTube these days and
basically how it works is I'm going to post a series of polls on my insta story

How To BUFF The ICE-TYPE And Make It BETTER Within Pokémon - Duration: 8:03.
It's no surprise that the ice type sucks…
In fact it's been considered to be the Worst type for a few generations now.
Though it received some love in Generation 7 with moves such as aurora veil and the ability
slush rush, the type itself still isn't able to hold it own in battle.
So that's why in today's video I wanna talk about what I would personally change
to the ice type to make it a nice typing overall in battle.

What's going on guys!

Now I do quickly wanna say that though I am going to be talking about ways to buff the
ice type, I am in no way a hardcore competitive Pokemon player.
I don't snow what the competitive battle scene is like.
I'm just a fan of the series who plays showdown and online battles occasionally, so some of
my ideas might be terrible or a bit too outlandish so forgive me for that but again feel free
to let me know how you feel about my ideas.
Also there are two videos that I recommend you check out watching before or after this
video and that's Eriyzo's What Is The Worst Pokemon Type Video and False Swipe Gaming
and ThunderBlunder's How Good Were Ice Types Actually video.
Both of these videos will really explain to you the pros and cons of the Ice typing and
go more in depth to the various different aspects of the Ice type if you aren't aware
of them already.
Now if you're still here I'm sure you're aware that offensively the Ice type doesn't
need much help at all.
The type has a variety of different physical and special moves that can deal a ton of damage,
has the ability to freeze Pokemon, and scares away 4 different types making Pokemon like
Garchomp, Dragonite, Jumpluff quad weak to it.
The issue here is that defensively it has absolutely nothing going on for it.
1 resistance, and that being to itself is nothing to be proud of.
So if we want to buff the Ice type we're mainly going to have to play along over here.
If you were to literally look at things it kinda makes sense as to why Ice only resists
itself, but this Pokemon dang it!
If I can make an Ice cream cone fight alongside me, I can make it defy elemental logic as
well.
If we're to take a look at the 18 different types and see which types the Ice type might
be able to resist I would say Bug and Grass are two of the ones that first come to mind.
And trust me as someone who lives in canada I can safely assure you that no bug or blade
of grass here is touching any kinda ice unless the ice or snow falls on top of it.
But the thing here is the bug and grass types aren't all to great offensively as they
both have a lot of Pokemon that resist them already.
So I don't think it would be fair to buff the ice type at the expense of nerfing one
of these two types.
The next place to look for me would be the flying type.
Ice is already super effective against flying so it wouldn't be too crazy if Ice suddenly
resisted flying, however I'd say that the flying type is one of, if not the most balanced
type in the game.
Similarly to the bug and grass type I wouldn't really want to make changes to it either cause
the flying type is overall pretty solid, one type I don't mind making changes to however
is the ground type.
Just like flying and grass, the ground type is a typing that Ice is super effective against,
but unlike flying and grass the ground type is offensively one of the best types in the
game!
If you couldn't already tell by all the players that run earthquake on their team
of course.
As it's super effective against 5 different typings and only has Pokemon of two typings
that resist it, I'm sure that by making Ice type Pokemon resistant to ground type
moves we wouldn't be harming the ground type too much at all, and we'd be giving
the Ice type a great buff at the same time!
And not to mention that the two types that resist ground are the bug and grass types.
The two types that we just previously mentioned for being some of the weaker types in the
game.
So if we were to include ice on this list then 3 of the weaker types could have something
in common.
I wouldn't make the Ice type resist Dragon as the Dragon type has already had a lot done
to it with the addition of the fairy typing.
As for the fairy typing it is a Pokemon that I'd like to nerf just a bit, but I don't
see how the Ice typing can do anything to help out with that, but if you'd like to
see a video on How I'd nerf the fairy type then be sure to let me know.
Another type that I'd tinker with is believe it or not…
Water.
I think it would be safe if the Ice type actually resisted water type moves.
I know water already resists Ice, but to be honest I never quite understood that…
To me it seems like Ice should be super effective against water as Water freezes and solidifies
to become ice!
But for some reason water resists so hey we'll go along with it since we're not looking
to expand the Ice Type's offensive capabilities anyways.
I don't see what the issue would be if Ice and water both resisted each other.
Again if you really think about it, both types are the same anyways so if you left water
types to resist Ice type moves, and made ice types to resist water type move, sure you
may have a long battle ahead of you but that's where normal type moves come in and I think
it makes sense to have it this way too.
Water is a good type offensively, and great defensively so lowering its offensive capabilities
just a little shouldn't be too harmful to the type overall though I do think it might
affect the type a bit more than the change I made to the ground type.
I would leave it here as I feel like I messed with the type system enough already, but if
this still isn't enough I still have one more idea up my sleeve.
With these changes the Ice type will have 3 resistances that being to Ice, Ground and
Water but some of you may not like the sound of 3 resistances, so… how about we drop
the number of restances to 2, and make the ice type the first Pokemon to be immune to
itself!
Ice type Pokemon already are immune from being frozen, and it's not like ice type moves
do a whole lot to a majority of the ice types anyway so why not just grant them the immunity?!
Most of the Ice Type Pokemon are frozen as it is, so I'd imagine that hitting them
with an Ice type move would kinda be like giving them extra muscle mass or something
to help it grow or protect it, I don't see how it'd hurt them.
I know with this logic fire type moves probably shouldn't hurt fire type pokemon, electric
type moves with electric type Pokemon, and so on, but really if any Pokemon type should
be immune to itself, I think it's the ice type cause again it has nothing really going
for it, and Ice cream cones don't get hurt by being in the freezer.
I also get that if all these changes were to take place, Mamoswine would be a LOT more
of a monster than it already is, but hey…
That's tomorrows issue!
:) So to sum things up to buff the Ice type I think all that needs to be focused on is
enhancing the Ice type's defensive capabilities, and I think by making the Ice type resist
both ground and water as well as maybe even possibly changing its Ice type resistance
into an immunity, we'd have a much more usable, and capable Ice type in the games!

How To Wake Up At 4:00 AM and Be Excited - Duration: 5:24.
You know that moment when you have to wake up early in the morning, but you simply cant,
I mean you have been hitting the snooze button over and over because you freaking want to
sleep.
Of course you have to head to your job but this sleep is so sweet that you are ready
to scarify your job for it.
Especially when Last night you could not fall asleep, you tried to sleep early, but for
one reason or another, you have spent hours simply lying on your bed, changing positions,
thinking about every crap that crossed your mind, remembering every BS you have done in
the past before you action fell asleep.
How do I know that, because I have had the exact same experience like everyone else!
There is no doubt that you want to become an early riser, you wanna wake up at 4 or
5 am and start hustling but it just seems like its not working with you.
Just look back and count the number of times you tried but failed, thats why here in this
video will take a look at a practical way that you can follow to start waking up at
4 am.
Firstly and most importantly you have to ask yourself this question: Why Do I want to wake
up at 4 am!?
This might sound simple and unimportant but your answer to this question is the key factor.
Most people feel inspired when they watch a motivational video, they suddenly want to
become an early riser, thats the moment when they feel energised and super confident, as
if they are about to conquer the world But its not as easy as that, because that
motivational feeling will fade away in few hours if not minutes and the next morning,
you are going to feel as you always do!
Thats why you should not rely on your feelings but rather you must have a strong reason.
Like for example, if you aren't going to show up at 9 am in the office, you might lose
your job, thats probably what drives most people to be on time every morning.
So come up with an important reason to wake up that early, so every time your alarm rings
at 4 am, you have got to wake up because that project or meeting is waiting for you and
its so important that you cannot possible miss it!
In my case for example, I plan most of my work to be done in the morning, because in
the evening I really find it difficult to stay focused, by 7 pm, I already feel tired,
by 8 pm, I certainly wont be doing anything super productive.
So its important for me to get up early, otherwise my plans will fall behind!
But no matter what an important job you have in the morning, you are not going to wake
up early if you won't have enough sleep.
You might do it once or twice, but in most of the cases, sleep is going to overcome you
because thats something that your body literally needs.
But you might say: even if I get early to my bed, I still cant fall asleep, I mean i
am simply going to lie on my bed for hours before I fall asleep.
And thats something a lot of people struggle with.
Don't worry, you are not the only one, and here what you should do about it!
Your brain doesn't like a lot of changes, because each time when you do something absolutely
different, it requires your brain to think, and that consumes a lot of energy, so your
brain starts looking for shortcuts.
If you are doing something every day around the same time like brushing your teeth the
moment you wake up for example, you will start doing that automatically without really giving
it a thought, sometimes you will brush your teeth and you might not remember you did that,
because you have been thinking about something else, and you automatically did it since it
has became a habit.
The idea is to turn your sleep into a habit, in other words, you have to sleep and wake
up at the same time every single day.
So every day, when its 11 pm, you will naturally start feeling tired and sleepy and the point
is to go and sleep at that time and not wait until 1 am because you will break your sleeping
habit and then again you will find it extremely difficult to fall asleep.
In order to establish that habit, you need to sleep around the same time for 3 or 4 weeks
until your body adapts.
You will naturally find it difficult to fall asleep early if you aren't use to that,
so make sure you dont give up !
Another thing you can actually do that can significantly help you to wake up early is
to keep your alarm away from your bed.
Most people have their alarms in their phones, so when it rings in the morning, you simply
hit that snooze button, and once you wake up, you realize that you have been hitting
that snooze button for the last hour.
Lets say you keep your alarm at a distance, you cant simply turn it off when it rings
while you are half asleep, you will have to wake up, stand up and walk to turn it off,
and by then, you will be already awake. and make sure you have a bottle of water right
beside your bed.
Besides the fact that there are many healthy benefits of drinking water in an empty stomach,
For the past 7 or 8 hours, you didn't have water and your body needs to get hydrated
to function properly.
after a glass of water, you will find it much easier to get up!

What If Nyogtha Was Real? - Duration: 5:21.
Hello and welcome back to Life's Biggest Questions, I'm Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey.
Today we'll be continuing down the disturbing road of the Cthulhu Mythos.
Nyogtha is a Great Old One first appearing in The Salem Horror by Henry Kuttner.
This Haunter of the Red Abyss is as mysterious as it is disturbing, but what if it actually
existed?
Let's explore.

Now get ready, it's time to ask the question: What if Nyogtha was Real?
Unfortunately, descriptions of Nyogtha are extremely vague.
It seems to be a giant beast covered in tentacles, living beneath the earth, and has been known
to influence happenings on Earth.
Sadly, while there have been a number of depictions, they tend to look at the various rites of
summoning and banishment, without actually highlighting specific powers of the beast.
However, many believe that it uses its tentacles in order to manipulate people and objects
around it, and this is the interpretation that we'll look into today.
It should be mentioned that some believe Nyogtha to simply be an avatar of the Great Old One
Nyarlathotep, but this video will assume it to be a separate entity.
With that out of the way, let's hop in.
First of all, I don't know about you, but this idea of a creature manipulating its surroundings
with far-reaching tentacles reminds me of an episode of Futurama, entitled The Beast
with a Billion Backs.
In this episode, a rift opens, connecting the main gamma universe to an alternate one,
inhabited by Yivo, a giant creature with a multitude of tentacles.
Yivo then used Fry to spread its tentacles across the universe, attaching to and influencing
the actions of every living being.
Yivo has been compared to other Lovecraftian dieties like Azathoth and Yog-Sothoth, but
I think the tentacle aspect would make Nyogtha a more apt comparison.
The problem is, while Yivo from Futurama was just looking for companionship, and was relatively
benevolent, Nyogtha would likely only be looking out for itself.
If it managed to get its hands, or rather, tentacles, on the people of Earth, we would
likely be in for a good deal of pain and suffering.
Luckily, Nyogtha doesn't have quite the same power as some of the other Great Old
Ones we've talked about.
It's believed by some that the trip to Earth weakened Nyogtha, and it had to seek help
from the Elder Things to regain strength.
They helped, hoping to control it, but when it became clear that Nyogtha didn't intend
to obey, they locked it up underground in New Zealand, and threw away the key.
This leads many to see Nyogtha as among the least powerful of the Great Old Ones, since
what power it does have is seriously limited.
However, it's possible that Nyogtha would only have to control a select few people in
order to have secondary control of many more.
We've seen in recent years the power a charismatic leader can have over their followers.
Mormonism, Scientology, even modern political groups have convinced people en masse to act
against their own interests, by convincing them that the organization had their best
interests at heart.
Nyogtha would attempt to take control of someone with a huge number of loyal followers, like
Donald Trump or even the ridiculously popular K-pop group BTS.
A few words of support from them would have their followers clamouring to join the ranks
of Nyogtha's legion.
Fortunately, there would be a way to fight back.
Basically the one thing writing on Nyogtha is explicit about is the summoning and banishing
of the Great Old One.
If people were to say the correct words to expel the beast from Earth, this calamity
could be avoided.
However, this would require people to learn that Nyogtha was real, and it might be difficult
to convince the populace of the existence of this slimy underground puppetmaster.
Of course, this is not a new idea.
For years, conspiracy theorists have claimed that the rich and powerful are part of some
outside group trying to manipulate society to meet their own goals.
Some claim this to be the Illuminati, others have and continue to blame Jewish people for
whatever reason.
Still others believe that they aren't people at all, but rather a shapeshifting race of
lizard people in the midst of infiltrating society.
However, considering most people don't believe in these theories, correctly in my humble
opinion, it might be difficult to convince them that this was the case.
On the bright side, that may not be necessary.
Since the writing is rather limited and vague, it's hard to say for sure how many people
would be required to perform the incantation, or how long its range would be.
It could be that one person saying it would remove the presence of Nyogtha worldwide,
or it could require several people to separate it from a single host.
However, it's likely that just a few believers, in the right place at the right time, would
be able to banish Nyogtha from its hosts, who could then profess the truth to the world.
This would then allow everyone around the world to chant the incantation, which would
likely remove the presence of Nyogtha from the Earth, at least for a time.
This might have long-lasting consequences.
In order to prevent future attacks from Nyogtha, we would want to make sure the rites continued
to be said, so that it wouldn't have a chance to infect any more of the population.
It might even become something spoken routinely, perhaps being said alongside the national
anthem before a football game, or even before meals, alongside or in the place of saying
grace.
Meet up with a group of friends?
Better banish Nyogtha, just to be safe.

And now we return to our question: What if Nyogtha was Real?
Well fortunately, it's likely that it wouldn't be too powerful, having been trapped beneath
the Earth.
If, however, it managed to ensnare a few charismatic leaders, we could have millions of people
willingly but unknowingly joining the cult of Nyogtha.
On the bright side, it's likely that this could be stopped by using the incantation
to banish the Great Old One, which could then become an effective preventative measure to
keep the creature at bay.
It might be an uncertain time for a while, but eventually, the world would probably go
back to normal.
It wouldn't be ideal, but it would be a heck of a lot better than Cthulhu.

Know Your Plane #5 | Embraer 145 ISR (E-99): The Brazilian AWACS Plane - Duration: 21:21.
This is the Brazilian eye in the sky, the Embraer 145 ISR – Intelligence, Surveillance
and Reconnaissance aircraft – which contains some of the most advanced electronic systems
used today in modern warfare.
With its powerful radars and sensors this medium-sized platform can spot threats from
hundreds of kilometres away, gather vital information and simultaneously relay them
to allied units in real time.
This episode of Know Your Plane will focus on the military version of Embraer's successful
regional jet series that is employed by the Brazilian, Greek, Mexican and Indian air forces.
As a disclaimer, this video will cover the Embraer 145 ISR platform in general but with
a special focus on the Surveillance Aircraft model operated by the Brazilian Air Force.
Included in this video are the history of the platform, a short explanation of its different
variants and the specifications of the aircraft and its electronic systems.
The origins of the Embraer surveillance aircraft date back to September of 1990 when the Brazilian
government established two major programs focused on the Amazon region.
With land borders totalling over 11,000 kilometres the Amazon is Brazil's strategic northern
frontier and with a size of 5 million square kilometres consisting mostly of jungle and
unpopulated territory it is no wonder that monitoring the borders of the Amazon is a
challenge for the Brazilian government.
Elements that threaten Brazilian sovereignty include active guerrilla groups based across
the border and who are known to have stepped into Brazilian territory, the most notable
case being the Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces, and the trafficking of both drugs
and weapons into Brazil.
Equally important to the country is the monitoring and control of the enormous airspace over
the region, the protection of the mineral resources under the Amazon forest against
illegal exploration, and the protection of the jungle and its biodiversity against pollution,
unrestricted logging activities and most notably fires who have the goal of clearing the jungle
for agricultural land – as a matter of fact by the year of 1990 these activities I just
mentioned had already eliminated over 13% of the original Amazon forest, an area larger
than France.
In order to strengthen its sovereignty and tackle the issues previously mentioned the
Brazilian government established the SIPAM (Sistema de Proteção da Amazônia /
Protection System of the Amazon) together with another program called SIVAM
(Sistema de Vigilância da Amazônia / Surveillance System of the Amazon).
One measure of these two programs included the installation of several radars across
the forest to improve monitoring capabilities over the Amazon, however because of the size
and lack of infrastructure of the area it just wasn't viable to install enough radars
to cover all the airspace over the forest, moreover these radars did not have the capability
of detecting aircraft at altitudes under 10,000 feet which proved to be another issue since
aircraft involved in drug and weapon trafficking usually fly just over the treetops.
In order to detect these low flying aircraft and cover the airspace beyond the range of ground-based
radars the Brazilian government ordered special modifications of existing air force aircraft
that were supposed to patrol the skies over the forest.
In the year of 1994 the government decided that in addition to the capability of monitoring
and controlling the airspace, this special aircraft was also to monitor the forest in
search of pollution, illegal activities and collect data for scientific research purposes
and with the goal of developing better policies for the region.
The chosen aircraft was the nimble Embraer 120 Brasília who was employed by the Brazilian
Air Force as a light transport aircraft.
During preliminary studies for the necessary modifications of the Brasília it was noted
that the equipment required was too heavy for the lightweight plane, actually the
Brazilian Air Force would need three Brasílias in order to carry all the weight of the equipment.
One of the most important pieces of equipment was the Swedish active electronic scanning
radar PS-890 Erieye who had been chosen for the SIVAM and was meant to be carried by a small
aircraft, but with the Brasilia being too light the air force began studying possibilities
for the deployment of a Boeing 727 attached with the Swedish radar by the end of 1994.
The platform of choice for the Erieye radar had not been decided by 1996, in that year
Embraer flew the long-range version of its regional jet series, the ERJ-145LR which had
a range of 3,000 kilometres.
Given the success of Embraer's civilian jet and the fact that Embraer had knowledge
of the military program since the Embraer Brasília was initially the platform of choice,
in 1997 the Embraer ERJ-145LR (Long-Range) was chosen as the platform for the Swedish
Erieye radar in the SIVAM program.
The new aircraft was to be known as Embraer 145SA (Surveillance Aircraft) and featured
several modifications which we will talk further along the video.
In total the Brazilian Air Force ordered 8 aircraft.
5 Embraer 145SA, whose Ericsson PS-890 Erieye radars were all purchased in 1998, and 3 Embraer
145RS (Remote Sensing) aircraft.
The remote sensing variant has a different radar under the aircraft that is meant for
acquiring data of grounds targets and collecting information about the terrain.
The first Embraer 145SA prototype flew on May 22, 1999 and the first Remote Sensing
prototype flew on December the 18 of the same year.
Despite some initial delays, the first batch of 3 aircraft was delivered to the Brazilian
Air Force in July of 2002.
Upon officially entering in service the Surveillance Aircraft variant was assigned the name "R-99A"
while the Remote Sensing variant became known as "R-99B".
However, there were some changes in the designation of the Brazilian Air Force in June of 2008
and since then, the Surveillance Aircraft variant became known as E-99 while the Remote
Sense variant became the R-99.
By the end of 2003, the remaining five aircraft have been delivered to the Brazilian Air Force
and all Embraer 145 ISR aircraft have since then been based at the Anápolis air force
base where they are flown by the Guardian Squadron (Esquadrão Guardião).
Up to this day the military version of the Embraer 145 is an essential asset for the
Brazilian Air Force's effort in monitoring and controlling the Amazon and the borders
between Brazil and its western neighbours.
Frequently working together with the E-99 are also the A-29 Super Tucanos who often
perform interceptions of suspicious aircraft detected by the E-99 which in turn has the
responsibility of overseeing the whole interception process.
Usually the interceptions are successful in making the small aircraft carrying drugs or
weapons land but there have been a few cases in interceptions controlled by E-99 where
the Super Tucanos had to fire warning shots, like in this case, or even shot down the
non-responding aircraft in some more extreme occurrences.

Apart from the 8 Embraer 145 ISR aircraft
currently in service with the Brazilian Air Force, Embraer has also exported its ISR platform
to 3 other countries: Greece, Mexico and India.
These countries all operate different or modified versions of the aircraft, the specifications
for all these different models go beyond the scope of this video but here's a short history on all of them.
Greece ordered 4 aircraft in 1998 and they are a modified version of the Embraer 145SA
known as the Embraer 145H (Hellenic).
These aircraft have upgraded electronics and were all delivered in 2005.
One notable mention of this aircraft's service with the Greek Air Force is that it participated
in NATO's operation against Libya in 2011 by identifying targets and controlling aircraft
from France and Qatar in patrols, interceptions and attack missions.
Mexico purchased 3 aircraft in March of 2001 including one Embraer 145SA and two Maritime
Patrol versions to fight against drug trafficking in the south of the country and protect Mexico's
strategic areas.
The aircraft were delivered in 2004 and since then they have been integrated with Mexico's
SIVA (Integrated Air Surveillance System).
Last but not least is India which has purchased 3 aircraft equipped with a refueling probe in 2008.
The Indian aircraft are to be fitted with India's own electronic equipment.
The first flight of the Embraer 145I (India) was on December 7 of 2011 and the first aircraft
arrived on the following year for system integration with the Indian Air Force.
I should also mention that Embraer, in partnership with Lockheed Martin, had won the bid of the
Aerial Common Sensor program from the American military in 2004.
According to the program, Embraer was to supply a total of 57 aircraft to both the US Army and Navy.
However the American military cancelled the program where the Embraer aircraft would substitute
the RC-12 (King-Air), the RC-7 (Dash 7) from the army and the EP-3 Aries II from the navy.
With all these different operators mentioned let's perform a very quick explanation on
the different variants of this aircraft.
At first, we have the Embraer 145 SA, Surveillance Aircraft, whose only operators are the Brazilian
and Mexican Air Forces.
Five aircraft have been manufactured for Brazil, where the aircraft are known as the E-99,
and one airframe was sold to Mexico.
The most remarkable features include the Erieye radar mounted on the top of the fuselage and
some additional antennas mounted on the tail.
The next aircraft is the Embraer 145H, an improved version of the Surveillance Aircraft
with an upgraded Erieye radar, datalink compatible to NATO standards and flare and chaff dispensers.
Greece currently operate four of these aircraft which belong to the 380th Squadron.
The Indian Air Force purchased three EMB-145I fitted with a refueling probe.
This variant is based on the Surveillance Aircraft model, however all the electronic
equipment comes from India's Defense Research and Development Organisation.
Another aircraft is the Embraer 145 RS, Remote Sensing, which is operated exclusively by
the Brazilian Air Force and is also known as multi-intel.
With its synthetic aperture radar and multispectral imager, it can produce topographic maps, conduct
research on natural resources, analyse the soil and subsoil by its reflexivity and even
determine if the vegetation is healthy or not by measuring the absorption chlorophyll
from the air.
The last version of the Embraer 145 is the Maritime Patrol aircraft whose name is self-explanatory.
This aircraft was initially developed for the Brazilian government.
However due to changes in the requirements which asked for a four-engine aircraft with
internal weapons bay the Embraer 145 Maritime Patrol was discarded for usage by the Brazilian navy.
Mexico is the only operator of this variant having acquiring two aircraft.
Now that we've briefly talked about all variants, let's take a closer look on the
Surveillance Aircraft used by the Brazilian Air Force.
The E-99 has almost the same dimensions of the civilian Embraer 145LR, height and length
are the same - 6.75 and 29.87 metres respectively.
However the E-99 is 96 centimetres wider than the civilian plane at 21 metres thanks to
the addition of winglets which improve endurance and flight time.
It's worth pointing out that the E-99 was Embraer's first aircraft to feature winglets.
Amongst its notable modifications, the E-99 has strengthened joints between the fuselage
and the wings to accommodate the mounting of the Erieye radar and eliminate the risk
of shaking or vibration which would result in inaccurate readings from the radar.
The radar is mounted at an angle of 6 degrees because during patrols the aircraft's flight
profile is pointed slightly up in order to improve range and endurance, therefore in
these conditions the radar is pointed to the horizon.
Compared to the civilian version, you can also see the addition of several fins throughout
the aircraft with many of them working as antennas for the aircraft's electronic systems.
Also note the lack of windows on the mid-to-rear fuselage, there's where the data processing
computers are located.
Now let's move to the interior of the aircraft.
Behind the cockpit of the E-99 there is a galley and resting area that can accommodate
up to five people that are not involved with the operation of the aircraft or its electronics.
The next section of the plane consists of three interchangeable consoles where the three
operators would work.
Aft of that we have the electronic equipment including the processing computers and going
towards the rear of the aircraft you can see these six rectangles - they are actually six
fuselage fuel tank cells which add a total of 2,405 litres to the fuel capacity of the plane.
Finally, at the rearmost part of the aircraft we have a lavatory and a baggage compartment.
For a regular mission the E-99 crew consist of the two pilots, one tactical coordinator,
one electronic warfare operator and one intercept officer - therefore a total of five people.
However, the book I've read mentions that usually the mission crew is 8, so you can
add some 3 aircraft or electronic equipment technicians to the total.
The powerplant of the E-99 consists of two Rolls-Royce AE 3007 turbofan engines, the
same engines used by the civilian Embraer 145 family, therefore performance of the aircraft
is largely the same.
The maximum cruise speed of the E-99 is Mach 0.78 and its service ceiling is of 37,000 feet,
but the maximum performance of the E-99 doesn't translate to its operation.
In order to save fuel and maximize endurance the E-99 flies at around 170 knots or 314 km/h
at an altitude of 30,000 feet when patrolling the skies.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get information on the endurance nor the range of the E-99
but I would estimate a range between 3,000 to 4,000 kilometres given the extra fuselage tanks.
Other notable features worth mentioning is that the military versions of the Embraer
145 have a more powerful APU to handle all the electronic equipment and improved navigation systems
both by GPS and inertial navigation.
When talking about the electronic systems of the E-99, obviously our main focus is the
Ericsson Microwave Systems, now part of Saab, PS-890 Erieye active phased array Doppler
radar antenna mounted on the top of the fuselage.
The Swedish radar provides early warning and can detect air targets up to distances of
500 kilometres with a scan rate ranging from 3 to 12 degrees per second.
The system can also detect small and slow aircraft, such as aircraft involved in drug
trafficking, flying at speeds under 108 km/h up to distances of 450 kilometres.
According to the material I've read, the Erieye detection envelope consists of 500
kilometres to the side of the aircraft and 269 kilometres to its front or back.
Flying at high altitude, the Erieye detection area is over 500,000 square kilometres horizontally
and 20 kilometres vertically.
The Erieye radar can also detect naval targets up to distances of 350 kilometres but this
limitation is due to the angle of the plane with the horizon - because unlike some people
might say, Earth is not flat.
The system also comes integrated with a Mark X IFF capable of identifying targets up to
450 kilometres away.
In total, the radar system is capable of tracking 300 targets simultaneously while the E-99
can at the same time effectively control 6 interceptions, usually performed by the Super
Tucanos in the case of the Brazilian Air Force.
But to say that the E-99's capabilities are limited to long range detection and airspace
monitoring would be an understatement.
Adding to its powerful radar, the aircraft also features an advanced communications exploration
system capable of detecting, locating, triangulating and recording communications transmitted on
frequencies between 2MHz to 16GHz.
These communications can also be transmitted to other aircraft in real-time with a secure
datalink connection via VHF or UHF with the aid of frequency hopping techniques.
Air-to-ground communications are also possible and the E-99 takes advantage of the several
ground stations located throughout the Amazon which connect the E-99 aircraft to the SIVAM's
general coordination centre in Brasília.
Now even though the E-99 has state of the art electronic equipment onboard, I want to
make it very clear that the E-99 does not have jamming equipment or jamming capabilities,
on the contrary the E-99 is very resistant to enemy jamming.
All in all, the E-99 is modern platform capable of providing early warning and detection,
airspace management and collection of intelligence.
Adding to the advantages of this plane, the E-99 has a very short time in-between sorties
– just roughly 20 minutes – and perhaps more importantly: it is an affordable option.
Coming from the commercially successful Embraer 145 series of regional jets, the entire 145
ISR platform shares low operational cost coupled with a reduced inspection frequency and ground
time which allows the aircraft to fly over 3,000 hours annually - over 8 hours per day
of every day in the year.
To give you an idea on the operational cost of some AWACS aircraft currently in service
I've found the following data on the hourly cost of each aircraft, but please take these
numbers with a grain of salt.
The E-2 Hawkeye from the US Navy reportedly costs about $3,000 per hour, the EC-130 over
$3,500, the E-3 Sentry about $8,000 and according to the same source the E-99 would cost less
than $2,000 per hour.
However this is not to say the E-99 is the cheapest AWACS aircraft in regards to acquisition
and operational costs because there are also turbo-prop AWACS aircraft including the Saab 340
from the Swedish Air Force that is also equipped with the Erieye radar.
To conclude our video, the Embraer 145 ISR family includes some of the most advanced
military aircraft in operation today and are a good option for medium sized countries who
either can't afford or don't need the large AWACS aircraft.
Instead they can count on an affordable and versatile plane to act as their eye in the
sky that is capable of airspace monitoring and management, maritime patrol, antisubmarine
warfare, remote sensing and intelligence collection coupled with the optional in-flight refuelling.
