HEADS WILL ROLL Gowdy Secures Three Agents to Testify Against the FBI
According to reports, Trey Gowdy and Bob Goodlatte have secured three FBI agents to testify on
the FBI's mishandling of the Hillary Clinton email probe, shortly after the explosive IG
report is released.
One of the agents testifying, John Giacalone, reportedly quit the FBI in protest over how
the higher-ups were obstructing the Hillary email investigation.
From The Hill
A joint investigation run by the Judiciary and the Oversight and Government Reform committees
has set three witness interviews for June, including testimony from Bill Priestap, the
assistant director of the FBI's counterintelligence division, and Michael Steinbach, the former
head of the FBI's national security division.
Multiple congressional sources confirmed Priestap's interview.
Steinbach confirmed to The Hill that he would be appearing.
The third witness is John Giacalone, who preceded Steinbach as the bureau's top national security
official and oversaw the first seven months of the Clinton probe, according to multiple
congressional sources.
Priestap, in particular, has come under fire from conservatives.
As the head of the FBI counterintelligence division, he held a pivotal leadership position
in both the Clinton and Russia probes and was in a supervisory position over counterintelligence
agent Peter Strzok, whose text messages criticizing Trump and other political figures during the
2016 presidential race have been the focus of a maelstrom of scrutiny from the right.
Republicans are ramping back up the controversial investigation amidst what has become a direct
assault by a number of conservatives on special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into
the Trump campaign and Russia.
President Trump's allies on Capitol Hill have alleged widespread misconduct within
the FBI and the Justice Department during the 2016 election and say it is evidence of
systemic bias against the president.
The allegations have spawned a number of counter-investigations and thrust a host of formerly anonymous FBI
and Justice Department career officials into the limelight.
The joint Judiciary–Oversight review — led by chairs Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and Trey Gowdy
(R-S.C.), respectively — is centered on the bureau's decisionmaking in both the
investigation of Clinton's use of a private email server while secretary of State and
the investigation into possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.
But its progress had stalled in the months since it was first announced.
Since October, the panel is believed to have interviewed only two witnesses — of about
20 potential witnesses — infuriating conservative members who are eager to uncover what some
have characterized as "corruption."
All three interviews are scheduled separately.
Priestap will appear in the first week of June, Giacalone in the second and Steinbach
in the final week of the month, according to the congressional source.
Democrats have derided the probe as a partisan exercise designed to shield Trump by muddying
the waters around the federal investigation into his campaign.
Gowdy has described the investigation as a serious inquiry into the bureau's conduct
during the Clinton investigation — also under the microscope of Justice Department
Inspector General Michael Horowitz — rather than an effort to re-litigate the decision
not to bring charges against the former secretary of State.
Horowitz is slated to release his own report imminently, raising some question about whether
he will pre-empt the interviews.
The inspector general earlier this spring released a report from a completed portion
of the investigation that was deeply critical of former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, a
top target of conservatives alleging wrongdoing at the Justice Department.
The Judiciary–Oversight inquiry is running on parallel tracks to an investigation spearheaded
by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), who has zeroed in on what
he describes as surveillance abuses by the Justice Department and the FBI during the
election.
But the two investigations — alongside similar probes from a handful of Senate Republicans
— share many of the same targets, including Strzok.
Although lawmakers have clamored for Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page to testify,
neither Strzok nor Page is expected to appear before the committee in June.
But as his subordinate, Strzok would run decisions by Priestap, his text message exchanges with
Page show.
Priestap was also involved in another hotly-contested episode during the 2016 election: The decision
by then-FBI Director James Comey to call Clinton's handling of her emails "extremely careless"
and not the potentially criminal "grossly negligent."
According to records released earlier this year by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Priestap
reviewed and provided edits to the statement Comey gave in July 2016 announcing that he
would not be recommending charges.
That statement has long fueled conservative ire. Trump and other Republicans have seized
on the wording change and the revelation that Comey began drafting the statement before
he had interviewed Clinton as evidence that the FBI was trying to shield Clinton from
prosecution.
"Comey drafted the Crooked Hillary exoneration long before he talked to her (lied in Congress
to Senator [Lindsey Graham]), then based his decisions on her poll numbers.
Disgruntled, he, McCabe, and the others, committed many crimes!" Trump tweeted last month.
Comey has said that he could not establish that Clinton acted with criminal intent — and
that "no reasonable prosecutor" would charge Clinton based on "gross negligence,"
a standard that has been used only once in the statute's 99-year history.
Priestap's name also appears in a controversial memo drafted by staff for Nunes, alleging
that the Justice Department inappropriately obtained a surveillance warrant on Trump campaign
aide Carter Page by using an opposition research dossier into Trump that was paid for in part
by Clinton.
The use of allegations from the so-called Steele dossier has been ground zero for many
of the conservative allegations of abuse.
According to the Nunes memo, Priestap told the committee that corroboration of the Steele
dossier was in its "infancy" at the time the bureau first applied for a surveillance
warrant on Page.
Steinbach, as executive assistant director of the national security division, also worked
closely with Comey and Strzok on both the Clinton and Russia investigations and was
involved in the drafting of the July statement.
He left the FBI last year and has been a public defender of a number of GOP targets at the
FBI, including McCabe and Strzok.
"To think Pete could not do his job objectively shows no understanding of the organization,"
Steinbach told The Washington Post last year.
"We have Democrats, we have Republicans, we have conservatives and liberals.
Having personal views doesn't prevent us from independently following the facts."

✅ Di Maio (e Salvini) al Colle prima di Conte. Pessimo segnale: così fan saltare tutto - Duration: 1:56.

Republican Congressman Says We Shouldn't Sell Homes To Gay People - Duration: 3:27.
During a recent meeting with the Orange County Association of Realtors, 15-term GOP congressman
Dana Rohrabacher said that homeowners should be able to discriminate against people they
want to sell their homes to, specifically the LGBTQ community.
He believes that if you don't agree with the LGBTQ lifestyle, you should be allowed to
discriminate and not sell your home to those people because you don't like them.
See, Rohrabacher thought that this statement was going to play well amongst the Realtors
Association in a very wealthy, conservative area, but as it turns out, it immediately
backfired on him.
This man got instant karma for his hateful talking points.
He lost the endorsement of the Realtors Association, he's going to lose all their campaign money,
and now he finds himself, for the first time in 30 years, in a position where he may actually
lose the primary and not even be his party's candidate this coming November, all because
he decided to go out there and put his hatred on full display, because he thought that in
today's atmosphere, under a guy like Donald Trump, that that was going to play well in
California.
Yeah, I don't know if you've been paying attention to what's happening in this country, but yeah,
there are some people who get drummed up by the hate, but there's more people who get
energized to go out and fight the hate than there are people to go out there and spread
the hate.
Perhaps Rohrabacher needs to turn on some news outlet that's not Fox and understand
what's really happening in this country.
But to his credit, though, shortly after making that comment, while still giving his little
speech, he insisted that he's not anti-gay.
He loves the LGBTQ community; he just doesn't want them to have any kind of equal protection
under the law, and believes they're lesser citizens, but other than that, they're totally
great people.
Rohrabacher actually has a history of being a hate-filled and anti-science individual.
Here are some of the things.
He's opposed the Violence Against Women Act, so I guess he thinks it's cool for men to
go beat the hell out of women.
He opposed the banning of anti-gay discrimination in the workplace, so he's cool with employers
discriminating against gay employees.
He's repeatedly voted to make same-sex marriage illegal, and he supports a constitutional
amendment banning marriage equality, and he is also, of course, a climate change denier.
You know, you take any one of those little pieces of this Rohrabacher story, and it shows
that this man is unfit to serve in Congress in the year 2018.
But you put them all together, and you're looking at the kind of person that easily
could have won elections, say, in the 1850s, but we're in 2018, right?
We're more modern, we're more tolerant, we're more advanced.
But not people like Rohrabacher.
People like him are holding this country back, and until we get rid of them, get them out
of the public spotlight, get them out of office, and don't let them ever touch the laws in
this country again, then we can see progress.
But until then, we're going to be left with the same hate-filled individuals serving in
Congress who prevent any kind of progress on equal rights in this country.

Trump Just Made Urgent Unexpected Prayer Request, That Brought The Entire Room To Their Knees - Duration: 3:05.
Trump Just Made Urgent Unexpected Prayer Request, That Brought The Entire Room To Their Knees.
Back in 2016, before the election, the media was doing it's best to smear the soon to
be president.
Obviously, nearly two years later that narrative hasn't changed and has likely gotten worse.
One part of President Trump's life the media won't talk about or publicize is his faith
in God.
President Trump and Vice President Pence have made their faith a center point of the Presidency.
During Trump's campaign, he often met with Evangelical pastors who would pray for him,
asking God for wisdom in how Trump would lead the nation.
In one interview, the President and his wife Melania were asked a question and their response
put the room full of media on the heels.
Western Journal reported:
Donald Trump sat down for an interview with CBN News in which he discussed political strategies,
the United States Supreme Court and prayer, just before the 2016 election.
Trump said he would appreciate prayer for guidance, when Chief Political Correspondent
David Brody asked him what he needed prayer for.
"I would say I would like them to pray for guidance and to pray for our country, because
we need prayer now almost more than we've ever needed it before," Trump responded.
Trump's wife, Melania, added that she would ask for prayers for health because it takes
good health to keep fighting.
It takes a certain amount of humility to make such a prayer request.
Trump admitted that he doesn't have all the answers and, by doing so, destroyed the
media's narrative that he is a know-it-all.
Don't look for this story to appear in mainstream news outlets, because it doesn't cast Trump
in an unfavorable light.
That's unfortunate, because during this interview Trump also pointed out one very
important reason, why Americans should vote for him the United States Supreme Court.
He said whether people like him or not, they should remember that he will appoint pro-life
and pro-Second Amendment justices to the high court, and that's a good reason, if not
the best reason, to get out and vote Republican next week.
Trump is right when he said our country needs prayer, because we are at an important crossroads.
Should Clinton win the election, prayer itself might even become a bigger target than it
already is, and that is a risk we simply cannot take.
Those moments are pivotal in who the president is and how he leads our nation.
Those are not the talking points of main-stream media, they like to point out the man's
flaws and leave out all of the positive points.
We all have made mistakes in life but focusing on the great qualities of a person, only makes
them stronger.
President Trump has chosen to use prayer, as a vital resource in leading our nation
a quality that hasn't been in the White House for a long time.
What do you think about this?

The Tragic Real Life Story Of The Grateful Dead - Duration: 5:19.
There aren't a whole lot of musical acts you know my name that basically have zero radio
play, but you sure know the Dead - thanks in large part to their devoted legions of
"Deadhead" fans that kept showing up at concerts for decades.
But the Grateful Dead's transformation into one of the most beloved touring acts in the
world was definitely a "long, strange trip."
For all of the positivity the band embodied, they were also beset by a series of unfortunate
incidents, controversies, and… ironically enough, deaths.
Here's the tragic story of the Grateful Dead.
Childhood trauma
When lead guitarist Jerry Garcia was 5 years old, a wood chopping accident severed a large
chunk of the middle finger on his right hand, which he later claimed improved his ability
to play the guitar.
The same year, Garcia's father drowned during a fishing trip, and he and his brother were
sent to live with their maternal grandparents.
Eager to see the world, Garcia decided to enlist in the Army at the age of 17, but it
didn't pan out.
Garcia made it through basic training, but was given the boot that December, sending
his life in a new direction.
Woodstock flop
There were many iconic performances at Woodstock in 1969, but the Grateful Dead's set wasn't
one of them.
By the time they took the stage, the band was ridiculously high, but their love of intoxicants
was only the first in a series of mishaps that led to a lousy performance.
On the night the Dead were scheduled to perform, rainstorms had turned the stage into a deathtrap.
After a delay of several hours, the band was finally given an "all-clear" and a reassurance
that they wouldn't be electrocuted.
By then they were all on LSD, and recordings of the set reveal long breaks between songs,
drug-fueled banter, and overall confusion that led to a sloppy, 40-minute performance
of "Turn on Your Love Light".
The band managed to get through five tracks before their amps overloaded and they finally
called it quits.
Pigpen departs
Ron "Pigpen" McKernan was a founding member of the Grateful Dead and the first to pay
the ultimate price for his vices.
While the rest of the band explored inner consciousnesses with LSD, McKernan opted to
stick with alcohol — and lots of it.
In 1970, his doctor told him to stop touring with the band and fight his addiction.
McKernan returned to the band in late 1971 and stayed through their 1972 European tour,
then his health took a turn for the worse.
His final appearance with the band was at the Hollywood Bowl in June 1972.
A year later, at just 27, internal hemorrhaging ended his life.
His landlady discovered his corpse in his apartment two days later.
Musical amnesia
Garcia struggled with smoking, drugs, and overeating for most of his life.
These destructive habits began to get the better of him in the mid-'80s.
According to the LA Times, in July 1986 an untreated, abscessed tooth resulted in an
infection, which lead to a diabetic coma that lasted five days.
"I just laid down one day and didn't get up."
When Garcia regained consciousness, he'd lost the ability to play the guitar and had to
relearn all his songs and solos.
Amazingly, the band was back to performing live by December 1986, five months after he
emerged from the coma.
Another keyboardist lost
After keyboardist Keith Godchaux left the band in 1979, the impressively bearded Brent
Mydland joined the Grateful Dead.
Mydland proved to be an asset throughout the '80s a skilled keyboardist and a deft songwriter,
penning a large portion of what would become their final studio effort, 1989's Built to
Last.
Mydland's life ended in 1990, at the age of 37 after a lethal dose of heroin and speed.
Losing Jerry
After surviving his diabetic coma in 1986, Garcia seemed like he was finally ready to
kick his old habits.
In December of 1987, he welcomed a baby daughter, his fourth child.
His struggle to lose weight and quit smoking continued in the years that followed.
In the summer of 1995, he checked into a drug treatment facility in Forest Knolls, California,
and never checked out.
A little over a week after his 53rd birthday, Garcia passed away in his sleep.
They never quite hit it big
The Grateful Dead were undeniably popular, but they never enjoyed what you might call
"mainstream success."
The closest they ever came to a chart-topper was "Touch of Grey," a 1987 track that made
it as far as No. 9 on the Billboard charts.
Their albums didn't fare much better.
The only studio album to make into the Top 10 on Billboard's album charts while the band
was together was 1987's In the Dark.
This was joined in 2017 by a live performance from 40 years earlier, Cornell 5/8/77, which
debuted at number 10.
The Grammys weren't kind, either, but the Dead did win Grammy Hall of Fame Awards in
1999 and 2016, and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
Poor Billboard performance didn't hurt their sales, though.
As of 2014, they'd sold over 35 million albums.
Rainbow-gate
Surviving band members gathered for a series of farewell concerts in 2015 dubbed "Fare
Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of the Grateful Dead."
They did only five shows, but made over $52 million.
The concerts were legendary, but according to Time, many tickets initially priced between
a $60 and $200 were snatched up by scalpers and resold at outrageous prices.
The negative press was severe.
Rolling Stone called the series a "cash grab," and Billboard even critiqued a rainbow that
appeared over the crowd during the first show.
Rumors claimed it was simulated and had cost the band $50,000.
We may never know.

Travis Scott Tells Santa Fe High School Students They're the Strongest People on Earth - Duration: 1:44.
For Complex News, I'm Hanuman Welch
Before the Houston Rockets defeated the Golden State Warriors 98-94 in Game 5 of the 2018
Western Conference Finals, Houston native and frequent courtside attendee Travis Scott
delivered a powerful message to the full house at the Toyota Center.
The Rockets organization held a special ceremony to honor all of the students and faculty who
lost their lives in the tragic mass shooting at Santa Fe High School.
Many graced the court wearing "Santa Fe Strong" T-shirts donning the school's colors of green
and yellow.
The high school's choir sang the national anthem and there was even a section of Santa
Fe students in the crowd as well.
To conclude the ceremony, Scott took the mic.
After asking for the spotlight to be placed on the Santa Fe seniors in the crowd, Scott
said,
QUOTE: "We love you.
Y'all the strongest people on this Earth.
Thank you for being heroes to all of us."
He also showed love to the first responders and school faculty present as well.
Of course, La Flame finished his sentiment in more traditional fashion by hyping up the
crowd
Thursday night's Game 6 at the Toyota Center was the first at the arena since last week's
school shooting at Santa Fe High School—the 22nd such occurrence in the U.S. in 2018.
The shooting left ten dead and many more injured.
The shooter, 17-year old Dimitros Pagourtzis has since been charged with capital murder
and aggravated assault of a police officer
To further show support, the Rockets wore special patches on their jerseys during Game
5 to honor Santa Fe High School as well.

Elderly Couple Leaves $11,000 Cash In Hotel Room Drawer, Then Housekeeper Finds The Secret Stash. - Duration: 1:44.
Elderly Couple Leaves $11,000 Cash In Hotel Room Drawer, Then Housekeeper Finds The Secret
Stash.
Hotel staff isn't always appreciated by guests.
They work hard ensuring our stay is comfortable and stress-free.
I like leaving tips whenever possible.
The housekeepers keep my room spotless and smelling great.
The bedsheets are fresh and clean.
There are plenty of bath towels and washcloths, soaps and other necessities I might've forgotten
in my haste to pack.
While I'm not advocating leaving valuables out in the open; most housekeeping staff are
honest and trustworthy.
An older couple from Ypsilanti, Michigan decided it was time to pack up their home and move
to Kentucky to be closer to their children and family.
Everything was in order.
The moving van was stuffed with years of their belongings; all the arrangements were made.
They had a wad of cash to pay the movers, bills at their new home already waiting and
just a few suitcases to stow away.
The cash totaled more than $11,000; the couple kept it close to their side in the wife's
handbag.
All was going perfectly.
When they reached their new home, they realized something dreadful.
Something that sent them to the floor in despair.
The money was gone!
The wife's purse, where they kept the cash, credit cards and IDs was missing.
The distraught couple didn't know where they'd lost the bag.
They didn't know who to call.
Fortunately, they didn't need to worry too long because someone was already working on
getting their valuables returned to them.
Their angel was Brigid Murray, a housekeeper at the Regent Hotel in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
She found the purse in the bottom drawer of their hotel room's dresser.
Brigid could've easily taken the money herself, but she did the honest thing, allowing the
couple to start their new life in Kentucky.

FBI CHIEF WHO FAILED TO COVER UP - Duration: 10:47.
FBI CHIEF WHO FAILED TO COVER UP HILLARY FUMBLE PREPS TO TESTIFY BEFORE CONGRESS
FBI Chief, John Giacalone failed to cover up Hillary's corruption is preparing to
testify before congress.
The FBI Chief preceded Steinbach as the bureaus' top national security official and lead the
first seven months of the Hillary investigation.
Due to confusion and the case heading out of control Giacalone decided to quit the FBI.
He said he quit the case because top officials were attempting to mess with the investigation.
There were two additional witness who will also testify before congress.
Things are just starting to get interning.
Via steadfastandloyal:
A second witness, Bill Priestap, who changed the word president to another high ranking
government official in Comey's exoneration speech.
The third witness is Michael Steinbach, the former head of the FBI's national security
division.
That should make for some really fun watching.
From The Gateway Pundit
House Republicans are set to interview three witnesses in early June regarding the sham
Hillary Clinton email investigation.
The word is that Giacalone quit the FBI in protest over how the higher-ups were killing
the investigation.
Giacalone resigned from the Hillary Clinton case and retired from the FBI because he felt
the case was going "sideways"; that's law enforcement jargon for "nowhere by design."
"Not sure what Preistap and Steinbach had to do with the Clinton Email investigation,
but these guys would be INTIMATELY INVOLVED in any COUNTERINTELLIGENCE investigation of
the Trump campaign during the 2016 election…
"
"Reminder: while James Comey and a whole bunch of other people have been fired/resigned/demoted
at DOJ/FBI, ol Bill Priestap has still been right there, head of the FBI's counterintel
div., working hard on cases:" We don't know how much Giacolone knows but I hope he
lives to testify.
I am not usually a conspiracy kind of guy but there have been a lot of convenient deaths
and records that magically disappear.
Giacalone was in the perfect spot to see the corrupt exoneration up close and he felt strongly
enough about it to resign, so I would say he will tell everything he knows, which could
be sufficient enough to provide prison terms
for
some
of
the Obama administration.

Do I Regret Becoming an Artist? Is There Room on YouTube for Other Creators? · Q&A (250k!!) - Duration: 18:17.
Alright guys welcome back to my channel! It has been a long time since I last did a
Q&A so I thought since we have now passed the big milestone of 250,000
subscribers on this channel- I think that's the first time I've said that out
loud, but how amazing is that!- I thought that since there are
quite a few new people here it'd be great to answer some of your questions.
So about a week ago, I asked on Instagram if you had any questions for me and
quite a few came in so I'm just gonna basically go through as many as I can
and I will link below the previous two Q&A s that I've done just in case the
question that you asked was answered in that. Also if I don't get to a question
don't worry, I will probably use those questions as ideas for videos anyway so
if you asked a question and you're really curious about - hopefully I'll
cover it there and if you didn't get to ask a question then you should be
following me on Instagram- shameless plug now- I'm gonna link it
below just in case you are not following me already. So let's get straight to the
questions. I'm gonna be looking down at my phone probably quite a bit because
that's where I have them all saved. Right and we're just gonna go through the top
comments first, I'm guessing that the ones with the most likes are the ones
that most people are interested in finding out about. So I've got a really
interesting question here from Alanna mccade who recently made the decision to
make art her main focus and is hoping to earn a living from it in the coming
years and they want to know if YouTube is a viable option as an artist, is there
a demand and what future do I see as an artist on YouTube. So in my opinion I do
think that there is potential for artists on YouTube. Something that people
have been saying a lot recently is that the platform is oversaturated which I
couldn't disagree with more honestly. I think there's always room for more
creators because everyone has a unique voice, everyone has something new to
bring to the table. I think it's oversaturated with a lot of
people doing the same thing but if you're going to bring something new,
something different, your own spin on things and absolutely I think if it's
something you want to do then it's definitely worth doing. What future do I
see as an artist on YouTube? I don't necessarily see a future as an artist on
YouTube, I like making YouTube videos and I want to be an artist but I wouldn't
say that I put those two together. I see more of a future for myself as an artist
rather than as a youtuber but I will continue to make videos for as long as I
like making videos and I don't see that
changing anytime soon. This is a good one. Mitch Oliver said 'what do you do to keep
your work area so clean and tidy? Any tips would be greatly appreciated, love
for Minnesota' Well I have a few tips and tricks for
that. So the main thing for me, I think I've touched on this before, but what I
do is; anything that I'm gonna be using regularly, I keep within reach, everything
has a place so if I take something from there I can put it back, if I take
something from there I can put it back, everything goes away nicely and you know
the things that I'm going to be the most are the easiest to get to just so I
don't end up leaving things out when I'm done with them, it's very easy to just
pull open a drawer, put something back. So that would be my main tip for keeping
things organized but also with keeping things clean, one of my main things is I
always have a loo roll right by my desk and my absolute saving grace is a pack
of Dettol wipes- I also use the wilkos own brand wipes because they're only 50p
but just any cleaning up wipes, once I've done some painting and I just want
to quickly you know clean up my desk- I usually use these before and after doing
a painting just to clean my desk off and it gets rid of most things pretty easily
if you haven't let them dry there for too long. I've got a lot of questions
about social media and building a following and also I think a lot of
people- a LOT a lot of people- quite a common thread between these comments was
feeling disheartened with not having as many followers as you would like, not
knowing if you're doing things wrong and feeling like maybe your art isn't good
enough. What I like about this one is the kind of follow-up question of 'how do you
get past feeling so dependent on other people's validation?' and that really hit
a chord with me because that is something that I've struggled with a
huge amount over the years. I am the kind of person where I really need people to
tell me that they like it so I feel like I'm doing something well and doing
it properly, but recently I have switched my focus to more of a place of enjoying
the process of making things rather than putting all my worth on how the finished
piece is going to look. I really enjoy being an artist, I really enjoy making
art and being an artist isn't necessarily about this picture or that
picture or the amount of followers you have.
It's about getting up in the morning and making art and building up a real
collection of things that you are proud of. So as long as you can make art and keep
making art and enjoy it and make art that you're happy with that should be
your main focus. And post it everywhere you want, do all the annoying social
media things that you have to do; the hashtags and the sharing and the SEO and
any other things that you can do your research on and find out about because
they're changing the algorithms all the time online so it's good to keep up with
what each platform wants from you but the main focus should be making art that
you really enjoy and really like and building a community, really appreciating
the followers that you do have already. A lot of people say 'I don't have many
followers' but 50 is a lot of people and 100 is a lot of people and you have to
look it in that way where that's people that are interested in what you're doing
and that's only gonna grow. So that would be my advice on that one, I feel like I
rambled a lot... so weird not preparing for a video and just talking but hopefully
I've been clear on that. Tahlia Fast said 'what is your favorite
podcast?', my favorite podcast at the moment is probably Lore, I really like Lore.
It's just a nice, spooky, almost hypnotic in the way that the guy talks. It really
like draws me in, it's the kind of thing I like to listen to you when I'm doing
watercolor paintings or ink. I don't know why, it just really works well together
so I'd really recommend Lore and other than that I listen to all the really
obvious ones, This American Life, 99% Invisible I think it's called? um I don't
know, I've kind of gone off podcasts recently just because I've been
listening more to like Disney soundtracks and stuff while I work but
Lore and This American Life are probably my top two. Sketchy G
says 'I'm constantly battling with what sort of art style I want to develop or
what mediums I want to specialize in, do you have any advice? Thanks a lot love
your work', thank you! I think that's something that a lot of
people seem to worry about as well, just trying to land their 'thing', their style,
what they use, their colors, and I think the best way to figure it out is to just
keep working, doing you like doing, whatever you're naturally
gravitating towards, just keep doing that even if one day it's realistic stuff and
the next day it's cartoony. Do what feels right in the moment and whatever you're
enjoying and every once in a while it's good to kind of take a step back and
look at the things that you've done and think about what you feel represents you
best and what you got the most out of. But also remember that you don't
just choose that thing and then that's it for the rest of your life and that's
all you're gonna do. It's really a journey with your art, so don't put too
much pressure on yourself to figure out what it is that you want to be doing and
how you want to do it because I can guarantee that this time next year
probably you'll be doing something different. You don't need to know right
now what it's gonna be because it's probably gonna change anyway. Okay Mads
Lacey said 'how do you want your career to shape out in the future, for example
do you want to create a book? PS I love you and your art so much, I've been
watching you for years and it's great seeing you turn art into a
career', thanks Mads! Well that is a really really really good question, it's
something that I've been thinking about so much recently. Obviously if you
remember the beginning of the year when I was having my existential crisis I
would I spent a lot of time thinking about what I am gonna do with my art and
how I would like it to develop and what kind of career I would like out of it
and I don't think that you necessarily have to know but I do feel at the moment
that what I want to focus on is making travel journals and you know just like
travel books almost, maybe not like travel guides but just books of
different cities and different stories of places that I've been to. Like my
Mexico travel journal was probably my favorite thing that I did last year
and it was great to look back on that and think 'yeah that is what I want to
keep doing' so I'm hoping- and well by the time you watch this I will be leaving
for Lisbon in like a day- so I'm hoping to document that in a journal and you
know if I can turn that into something print-worthy then that would be great
but it's just great to be able to record those memories for myself. But yeah, I
would love to do more kind of Illustrated journals that I would I
guess sell and maybe used to inspire people to travel
and go to these places as well. Samar Saeed says 'what is the hardest thing
about being a freelancer or building your own business?'. The hardest thing for
me at the moment is kind of legal stuff and finances, taxes that kind of thing. It
can get really overwhelming when you kind of step back and realize that I'm
just- I'm just a normal person and I don't know about these things and
they're really serious and you know I'm signing contracts and agreeing to things
and not really knowing if I'm doing it properly so it can be very daunting at
times. There's so much information on the internet and there's so many books and
things that you can refer to but when it comes down to it there will always be
little seeds of doubt in your mind where you don't feel experienced enough or
knowledgeable enough to be making particular decisions. Clara Gold studio
said 'how do you urban sketch? maybe this can be a different video or you can just
give quick tips', I actually have a series called Travel Journal Tips, I think there
are just three episodes in that where I have one on urban sketching so that
could be quite useful for you but other than that there are quite a few great
urban sketching youtubers on this platform so I will leave some links
below to some of my favorites. 1,000 years in summer says 'what are your
favorite Netflix shows and what are your favorite things about living in England?'
Favourite Netflix shows, I really like Outsiders where the people all live in the
mountains and they drive quad bikes and stuff. I don't know why I just really
like it. I don't watch much else on Netflix other than Drag Race and films.
I always watch like a scary film every once in a while and then favorite things
about living in England... I don't know about England as a whole because I'm
really bad at traveling around my own country but my favourite things about
living in London are; travel around the city is so easy, I
can get anywhere I want to get within you know 20 minutes most and there's
just so much to do, so much going on at all times even just locally there's just
so much going on at any given time, different festivals, different galleries
all sorts. So yeah I just love the vibrancy and life of it and I also love-
what a lot of people complain about- but I love that everyone just keeps to
themselves. I love that I can get on the tube and no-one's gonna talk to me and I
can get on the bus and no-one's gonna look at me.
That's my kind of city. Al Nosel says 'where do you think you would be today if
you had decided not to pursue arts as a career? I absolutely love all that you do.'
Thank you so much! Where would I be today? Honestly today-today
I would probably still be at Sainsbury's, the supermarket I used to
work at just because I was kind of gonna be there indefinitely, it was a really
good in-between job, a really good 'figuring out what I'm gonna do with my
life' job, I had friends there, I had really flexible hours as well so I
could you know find time to work on my own things in the mean time but also if
I needed money I could you know get in as many hours as I wanted, it was a great
little job so I probably still be there and it's only like round the corner
from my house as well so just perfect. Right well my camera stopped recording
for a little while there so let's see. We're about half an hour into taping so
I will probably just do a few more. artheart12 said 'hi Minnie, I was wondering
how do you keep track of all your ideas for your art?' and I would say if it's a
really visual idea then I will quickly do a little thumbnail sketch either
digitally or in my sketchbook just something really small, really simple to
get the basic idea down and then maybe write notes on it because those little
rushed sketches can be quite confusing to look at like in retrospect. If it's
more of a conceptual idea or maybe an idea for a project then I will note it
down in Trello which is like on the computer and on my phone.
But I discovered through Lavendaire and Lauren Fairweather who are also really
creative people and they use it in really unique ways as well. It's just a
great way to note down ideas and organize things in different lists
different categories and not lose track of all the different things that are
going on in your head basically. I will leave links below to both of their
videos on Trello and just in case you want to check that out and see how you
might be able to use it as well. James Gill said 'do you ever regret becoming a
self-employed artist? I'm looking to become one myself and I'm pretty excited
but slightly afraid about the risks coming with it.' Well James if you are
excited about it then I would 100% recommend
you do go for it. I understand the fear but it is so worth it in the end and I
think that you once you take that leap you'll see it for yourself.
But honestly there was a time back in November I think when I was really
struggling with kind of motivating myself and feeling good about my art and
also feeling about good about my career and what I was doing and where I was
going and I remember one night going out with some friends and just saying guys I
I've had enough, I'm gonna quit YouTube, I'm gonna quit
doing art. I want to go back to Sainsbury's, I just want to make art for
fun again and I want to go to a job where I can just clock out and come home
and not have to think about it anymore, you know just be able to switch off. I
was really just stressed and overwhelmed at the time and it was great to just
kind of get that out and say that but obviously my friends are like 'You're
crazy and that's not gonna happen, you have a great job and you're
great at it and you love it. It might be really hard
right now but you'll come out of it' and I have come out of that and they're
absolutely right you know I'm so lucky to have the job that I have and I
absolutely love what I do I really couldn't think of a better way
to be spending my time and to be living my life, it's like ideal. So it definitely
will get hard but honestly if it's what you want to do it's just so worth it
like the the highs are well worth the lows so really good luck to you James if
you decide to go for it I think that it will be incredible for you. Whatercolor
Gal says 'how long did it take you to teach yourself video editing? that's
the only thing that's stopping me from making my own videos to be honest.' Don't
let that stop you- not a good enough excuse. If you want to start doing it you
need to start doing it, you learn as you go. Take a look- oh my god I can't believe
I'm saying this- but take a look at my first video. I filmed it with my phone, I
put my phone up on a water bottle on the lid of a water bottle and just filmed
down like that and I used the music from the YouTube music library and that was
it that was where I started and you know I gradually learn a thing or two as I go
along. I was editing with Windows Movie Maker back then and you know the whole
thing is trial and error. Now I'm at a point where I'm still learning different
things, I'm still making really silly mistakes, so if you think that you're
going to start out and already know what you're doing, it
doesn't work like that. Just get started. You can do it.
Stop overthinking things. Make a rubbish video. It'll be fine. Okay we're gonna
finish off with a few quickfire questions so Dora Braddock says 'how old
are you?', I am 24, I'll be 25 in a month- two months?- end of June. It's Aaron says
do you have any-... It's Air-One... sorry I know someone else called Air-One. It's Aaron
says 'do you have any unique customer experiences? like has anyone walked up to
you on the street or anything out of the ordinary', well I think I might have told
you the story about when I was at a music festival last summer, in a hurry
Ozzy threw our trainers out with our rubbish so we had no shoes, we went to go
and find them and the girl that dug our shoes out of the rubbish was actually a
subscriber and she was really cool and she was really nice so if you're
watching, thank you for saving my trainers! MadlyPenned so 'do you believe
the pursuit of a creative career is viable in this era of oversaturated
creative media?' A million percent, I think being in the creative industries is the
best thing you can do for yourself in this era of- not even over-saturated
creative media- but you know a world that is going more and more towards valuing
creativity and innovation and creation of things. Art comes in so many different
forms and it's more and more useful nowadays where you know a lot of jobs
that people would have thought were really stable and now almost replaceable
with robots and new technology but you can never really replace an artist of
any kind so I think a million percent that are is a viable career option for
the future. I think it's really one of the best ways to go. Inessa says 'do you
have a go-to snack when you are doing your art and what's your favorite type
of music?', favorite snack to go to, I love green olives with feta cheese, love that!
I just had the earlier today! I also really like salted popcorn.
And favorite music, I listen to a little bit of everything but
mostly garbage. Alright we're going to leave it at that because we have
actually been recording for almost an hour now! I'm going to try
to edit it down to something that is a little bit easier to watch, I've probably been
talking a bit too fast. Today is boiling and I have a lot more to do with the
rest of my day so apologies for that. Thank you guys so much for watching,
remember to follow me on Instagram if you do want to take part in the next Q&A,
that is where I always ask for my questions for those and yeah but the
next video or next video or two that I post, I will not be around I'm gonna be
in Lisbon so I won't be able to respond to your comments then but I will talk to
you when I get back! Thank you guys so much for watching, bye!
