As we have already promised, today we are going to show you how
when and in which case we have got our first monkey Semyon
You know, to have a macaque at my home was an old dream
I love these pretty animals so much from my childhood
When I and my father went to zoo, he always knew that he could take a rest somewhere and
leave me close to the monkey`s aviary ,he knew that I wouldn`t go or get lost
I could watch these lovely animals till the zoo would close and so
my childhood`s dream had realized eight years ago
It was when my children were adult already, and I and my husband got a stable financial situation
My husband supported me in all the way and we started to search macaque in some advertisement and tried to find it from all kind of acquaintances
There is no need to say how many fake ads there were, moreover, there were situations when we gave money to the sellers and hadn`t any macaque at all
I always think that an animal is very important choice
You need to find a full connection of your mentality with your pet
And so, once upon a time, I was looking through ads on the internet and saw a picture of a little bug-eyed macaque which was sitting in a cell
and I had understood that this is what we were looking for
It was 15th of April. We drove to take him; brought him to our house and now Semyon is living with us more then eight years.
He became a true member of our kind and friendly family
There were difficulties about the maintenance of such animal at home because our predictions were completely useless
We had to study everything from the beginning. We even didn`t know how to wear diapers, how to feed them
The top of our knowledge at that moment was that macaques are omnivores.
Nevertheless, we tried to understand in a subconscious way how we should feed, observe sleeping and keep monkey`s diet because Semyon became a child boy in our family.
So, in a patient way we have learned how to feed macaque, when he needs to eat and to sleep
There is no doubt that people who know anything about these animals will face a lot of difficulties because of a huge difference of nature between macaque and human`s child.
Monkeys are wild, physically strong and even aggressive sometimes. They are very smart, intellectual animals and you always should keep it in your mind
So, our life had changed from the bottom to the top
We had to switch our habits about vocation and our rest because we hadn`t opportunity to go abroad, we were forced to take Semyon with us in any location, he didn`t want to stay alone
so our new member of the family followed us to the shop, work or wherever we go.
Overseas trips were not for us, it was hard to transfer on the train also, and we decided to travel by car in spite of do not make any stress for Semyon.
Our aim was to form a new feelings and comfortable communication with monkey
That`s why my advice is to think twice before having such animal in your life because it could seems like you sacrifice your life but that's not true
Anyway you will need to face a lot of changes in regular lifestyle.
There are different reactions on this
You need to understand that not all the people are happy to face macaque, and there are two categories of public: the one who enjoys monkeys, and the others who hate them, and you need to agree such a fact.
At the beginning we had to face such moments when we were forbidden to come in some public places because of monkey and that is OK
We were not allowed to come in some shops, café, cinema, theatres etc.
A lot of negative reaction was on the street, sometimes people react in a weird way
Once there was a case when adult women were screaming to their children like: ` Run and take a picture with this monkey! ~ but we had answered that we are not taking any picture on what people ask `Why you are so greedy? Why you have got such a pet then? ~
I mean that there were uncomfortable situations for sure, but with the time it became normal, maybe because we tried not to pay attention on negative reactions,
maybe because of people used to face exotic animals, but anyway now we can come to some café houses, and we spend a happy time there.
Moreover we are allowed to visit some hotels, if we will guarantee clearness and order in a room.
We are completely sure about our pets, we know that they are well mannered, and they know what to do and what do not do.
So we are not afraid any unmannerly behavior of our macaques but you should keep in mind that the hostility might come from your friends, relatives who might dislike your new ~purchase~
You need to think about all aspects and be prepared for some difficulties
Semyon is very kind, smart and calm monkey, but I think that the training at the childhood take dominant position in that case
You need to make it clear to the baby what he/she is allowed to do and what is not because of their natural instincts
monkeys are very curious and they like to inspect all the cupboards at your house, to study new places and things, that's why you need to keep a strict control, to teach them do not show aggression on others.
The way you training cats and dogs, the same for monkeys and children in some case, because if you do not pay special attention on children control,
they might grow as a monsters, the same for macaques and even worse because of their natural instincts monkeys can be aggressive, hate children and be very nosy.
So you need to keep in mind all these stuffs and take it into consideration
Semyon, for example, very smart monkey, he learned manners very quickly and we don`t have any problems about him.
Semyon clearly understand what he is allowed to do and what is not, his life experience is huge, he is not afraid to travel by car, to go for a trip, to make a visit to our relatives or to go for shopping.
He knows a lot of stuff which children and other pets are studied, and he is practicing well in his life
So we are very satisfied about Semyon`s behavior and even proud that we have such smart and clever pet.
