Don't Stare! 21 Eye Contact Rules For Men (Attraction, Non-Awkward, Authority, Confidence) - Duration: 8:35.

So, are you familiar with the 50/70 rule?
It goes like this.
When you're speaking to somebody, 50% of the time, you want to be making eye contact.
Whenever you're listening to somebody, 70% of the time you want to be making eye contact.
Is it perfect?
No.
But, it's a guide.
Today's video, gents, I'm giving you twenty one tips so that you could level up your eye
contact skills.
[Music] Tip number one.
Know where you stand.
You want to get feedback from somebody that you trust, maybe work with a coach, but you
want to know are you making too much eye contact or are you making not enough?
If you're not making enough eye contact, you will come off as weak someone's that's
a pushover someone that people don't take seriously.
If you make too much eye contact, all of a sudden you come off as being overly aggressive.
Tip number two.
Know how long to maintain eye contact.
On average, you're looking for about three seconds.
So, when you're looking and talking with someone, be thinking one one thousand, two
one thousand, three one thousand and then, you can safely look away for a second maybe
nod your head like you're listening, but about three seconds is perfect.
Now, this next tip is about you having impact when you're speaking to a group of people.
You want to look people in the eye, so that they remember what you say.
This is based off of 2006 study out of the University of Sterling.
What they found is that if you go around and you're making eye contact, when you're
talking to people about something that's important that you want them to remember by
making that eye contact, they are much more likely to remember the words coming out of
your mouth.
Now, this next tip is a bit of an interrogation secret and it comes out of Tufts University
and what they discovered is that when you give people long eye contact, we're talking
five, eight, ten seconds and they know they're being looked at, they are more likely to be
truthful when they're speaking to you.
So, you want to get the truth out of somebody, just keep looking at them, and, boom, that
truth is going to come out.
Now, this next tip is all about being remembered.
It comes out of Rutgers University and what they found is when you're making eye contact
with someone and you want to be remembered, I think this works well with men and women
is basically as you're turning your head, continue to make eye contact for as long as
you can.
And I think women are really good with this, but, guys, this has been shown clearly to
make you more memorable.
Now, this next tip is almost more of a warning and that is to be careful of people in authority
you giving them too much eye contact.
Maybe your boss, you're talking with them, you're listening to them, you're wanting
to show you're attentive, make sure that you're not overdoing it with that eye contact.
Now, let's talk about when to make eye contact.
It's important you make the eye contact at the very beginning of the conversation.
You want to make it early on and then you can start to look over somewhere else to break
it up.
The next tip.
Be fair with the distribution of your eye contact.
It's difficult at times especially when someone is talking and you're wanting to
give them most of your attention and when you're talking to a big crowd, again, scan
the room, don't get focused in on one particular area, make sure that you give the people on
the edges some eye contact and you look over this way as well.
Now, this next tip is for you travelers out there and when you go to a new country, understand
that it's not just about the culture change, but there are also maybe a different dominant
religion and definitely the eye contact rules could be very different from your home country.
You can make people uncomfortable, you can make people upset, and you're going to be
way ahead of most people if you understand these basic rules.
So, do your homework and show up prepared.
So now, let's talk about the eye contact rules between men and women and the first
rule here is that just because she's looking at you, does not mean she's interested.
You need to look at the environment.
Are you at work?
It could be she's looking at you because she simply wants to engage and ask you a question
and you happen to be running that department.
Now, if you are in an environment, you know like you're in a wedding, you don't know
who this woman is and she's checking you out, it's a very different situation.
So, you got to pay attention to the environment.
So, what are the eye contact indicators that the woman is interested in you?
First up, look for the fact that she's making eye contact.
Women oftentimes are going to try to initiate eye contact with somebody that they like multiple
times before the guy picks up on it and catches and looks their way.
Then, when you make eye contact, she's going to maintain for about two to three seconds
and then look away and this could happen multiple times.
The third thing you're looking for is a smile or some indicator that she's happy
to have made the eye contact.
At this point, guys, it's up to you, walk across and introduce yourself.
Now, the next tip I want to stress is just because a woman doesn't make eye contact
with you does not mean that she doesn't like you.
It could be someone that she is used to actually when she does make eye contact, men are overly
aggressive, so you find that oftentimes women are going to be more shy when it comes to
eye contact especially with someone they don't know very well.
So what to do when you make eye contact with a woman?
Smile.
Simply show that, hey, you're a nice person.
That's all you're looking to do.
I mean this is something I think more men could do because I know I still fall into
the trap of kind of looking away, just something I feel awkward, but, guys, practice looking
at people and smiling and, yes, you could smile at other men too.
Now, this next tip it needs to be said, but guys when you're speaking to a woman, look
her in the eyes.
Don't stare down at her chest.
There are ways that you can condition yourself.
You can train yourself not to stare.
So, the first thing I recommend is actually looking at a woman in the eyes and trying
to figure out what color of eye color she has.
This is a great thing to know.
When you could actually remember somebody's eyes, you're ahead of most guys.
Next up, let's talk about sticky eyes.
And this is when you're talking with someone and you let your eyes linger just a bit longer,
that shows you're very much interested in them that you're very attracted to them.
And this is a great technique to use when you're talking to a woman and you're having
to go away, but you keep maintaining that eye contact and give them a smile.
That right there, it's very attractive to women.
So, we talked about where not to look when you're making eye contact, but where should
you look?
The obvious answer is the eyes.
What you're looking to do is the oval between both eyes.
You can go a little bit up on the forehead, you can go maybe on the bridge of the nose,
but that oval is going to be the area that you want to maintain eye contact with.
And, yes, you can go from eye to eye if that's easier for you.
Next up, let's talk about blinking.
So, I've had it said to me that I don't blink enough, but understand that you can
blink too much.
You notice I'm blinking a lot there.
So, if you're blinking more than thirty times in a minute, that's too much.
What you're going for is about fifteen to ten blinks per minute.
Now, if you're only blinking about five times per minute, that – or less – that
actually comes off as just kind of weird.
People pick up on it and, yeah, something – some people think you're a robot, I've
had that said of me.
Other times, if you're blinking too much, it can come off as something is wrong.
So now, let's get back to talking about those percentages and remember I love to hear
from you guys down in the comments about that 50/70 rule if it's different in your country.
But, do those ever go up?
The answer is yes.
Whenever you are having a short conversation, you can actually be looking at them more than
50% of the time and you can be when you're listening to them having a short conversation,
looking at them the entire time.
As long as the conversation is short, those percentages can go up quite a bit.
Now, this next tip is about the opposite thing.
Whenever you're having a long conversation, do you still need to maintain that 50-70?
The answer is no.
You don't have to worry about that 50/70 rule, those percentages can go down and you'll
have the same effect.
So, this next tip may seem obvious, but it can lead to big communication issues in the
workforce and that is when you got a young professional entering the work force with
no eye contact communication skills.
It's imperative that if you've got bad skills here, guys, that you strengthen them
because you may be working with seasoned executives who got a lot of training and don't have
much patience for someone that doesn't look them in the eye.
They assumed distrust when simply you know your job, you know what you're going to
do and you've got to make sure that you get these skills up to speed.

Confidence is an attitude that can be reflected through our act or gestures and the way or
the words we say.
In order to appear more confident, many things can be done, for example, by wearing makeup
to appear with a firm body language.
Otherwise, confidence can also be shown by avoiding certain words or phrases that confident
people avoid to say.
In this video, I'm going to share with you some phrases that highly confident people
unlikely use in their daily life.

Here's the 7 phrases confident people never use.
#1 - "I can't…"
When at the first time we consider that we are unable to do something, the further step
we aren't.
Confident people will avoid such a phrase as long as possible.
If they really unable to do so, they will explain the situation that makes an obstacle.
Even though it will disappoint other people.
#2 - "I'm sorry…"
Well, being apologetic is necessary in some occasions,
but sometimes, we hear people apologize for something they don't do or not their fault
or even too much 'sorry' when they are speaking.
This comes from insecure personality that is not a feeling of remorse.
Confident people will certainly avoid this, instead, they will utter something more genuine.
#3 - "I have no choice…"
These are only mentioned by people who have felt defeated.
They feel something is no longer a choice that can be made.
However, confident people know how to make choices.
They are always looking for ways to create new choices confidently when they feel they
are running out of options.
#4 - "It is maybe..."
When you propose an idea but you frequently utter the phrase within your talk or speech,
this can make people see you are not confident to what you are talking.
Well, how can people trust if the person who talks is unconfident?
Conversely, confident people will never use those phrase,
rather, they will use words such as "I do believe..." to emphasize more to the idea.
#5 - "It's impossible..."
The words 'impossible' comes from a negative thought that limits movement.
Highly confident people don't complain about obstacles they face.
They will use their creativity to find a way out of every problem that comes.
#6 - "I fail..."
Failure is a part of life.
When someone fall into a failure often they lose their confidence to do again.
Saying that you have failed is not a confident person's way, instead you are judging yourself
to never try again.
Highly confident people will raise and never give up on a mere failure.
#7 - "I think…"
This is the most common phrase that people use whenever they make an opinion.
However, In expressing a strong opinion it is better to avoid the phrase "I think or
I feel" because it will make the opinion looked weak.
When we begin to propose an opinion beginning with the phrase too much on some certain matters,
the sense is not quite supportive.
Confident people never use them when they talk, especially when the talks are meant
to emphasize others.
Well, the manifestation of self-confidence can be seen from what we say.
However, not all people are confident at any time.
Some people got it from the beginning and some others from experiences.
What is important is that our effort to learn in convincing others by avoiding those phrases
like highly confident people never use.

basically decided that this piece of land was in such a state
they had to do something about it.
So they kind of got in touch
with the Crystal Palace transition town team up in Crystal Palace
and a fantastic guy called Robbie Gibson came along
and together they all hatched a plan.
I was motivated because I came along for that clean-up in 2013
and couldn't believe
how many people were gathered together
for this clean-up, just the atmosphere
of the day and I was hooked then,
yeah and I've been there since.
People say such nice things as they pass.
And everytime a child runs up the path that we created,
for me personally, that means we're
doing something successful
because it's a place where children play,
it's a place where people who've got mental health difficulties come and sit.
The great thing about the Sensible Garden is there's no rules,
there's no committee, there's no meetings as such
people just come and do what they can do when they can do it.

Joy-Anna Duggar obviously isn't shy about sharing the basics of her family life with
the media, and there's a lot we all know about her.
Still, there are things she hasn't been quite as vocal about.
Let's run through a few little known interesting facts about Joy-Anna Duggar every Counting

New arrival
In February 2018, Joy's life changed forever when she gave birth to her first child with
her husband Austin, a son named Gideon.
Joy revealed that she chose the name Gideon because of her strong religious faith.
But they didn't just pick "Gideon" because it was a name from the Bible.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Joy explained that, in the Bible,
"[Gideon] was a man of power and one that was willing to serve the Lord even when the
odds were against him."
The parents hope the name will encourage their son to become as invested in the Gospel as
they are.
Secret songstress
Joy and her famous family are obviously pretty religious, so it shouldn't be surprising that
she takes part in church services every once in a while.
What you may not have known is that Joy is a talented singer, and sometimes puts those
skills to use for her church.
She doesn't only sing for religious services, though.
She's also recorded music for YouTube with her brother Jason and fellow reality TV star
Lawson Bates.
It's not a serious professional pursuit, but it's clear that fans love it.
Filling the quiver
It's hard not to wonder if Joy will follow her parents' example and start her own huge
family.
As it turns out, she probably will, or at least that's her current plan.
In an interview with People before Gideon was born, Joy and Austin made it clear that
they aren't going to put a limit on how big their family will be.
When asked how many kids she wants, Joy said,
"We want as many as the Lord thinks we can handle and we are putting it into his hands."
It makes sense for Joy to feel that way, considering the family she grew up in.
Now that she and Austin have gotten started with their son, it seems like their little
family will only grow from there.
A natural bond
Austin and Joy met through the church, but it's not the only thing they have in common.
They also share a love of the outdoors.
In an interview with People, Joy talked about some of their adventures together in nature,
including hikes and hunting trips.
The two made outdoor adventures a part of their wedding as well.
For their combined bachelor and bachelorette party, the two decided to go camping, spending
a weekend with their friends tubing and kayaking and sleeping in hammocks.
It's clear being outside is a huge part of their lives, and hopefully something the new
parents can continue to share.
Not at first sight
As much as Joy and Austin seem like a match made in heaven, they didn't always get along.
In fact, Joy has admitted that she didn't really like Austin when she first met him.
In an episode of Counting On that aired before Joy and Austin got married, she revealed that
the two met when they were kids, when she was 5 and he was 8.
She said that she didn't really like Austin very much because he was young and immature,
though she recognizes now that she naturally was too.
At first, she says, she didn't think about him much at all.
Obviously, that changed.
Now Joy says she grew to love him for his adventurous spirit and admirable work ethic.
The dating pool
When it comes to dating, the Duggars do things a lot differently than most.
To start, they don't call it "dating," they call it "courting".
They also follow very strict rules.
When courting, there is no almost no physical contact allowed, which can make it somewhat
hard for a romance to develop.
In an interview with People, Joy said that she took a lot of advice about how to find
love through the strict rules from her older sisters.
She said,
"I was able to ask them just a lot of questions and wisdom about what they did and didn't
do."
Considering where she and Austin are now, it's clear that the advice worked.
Dress code dodger
The Duggar kids have to follow strict rules for more than just their dating lives.
One expectation is that the women in the family dress modestly and in feminine ways.
Duggar matriarch Michelle has talked before about defining her femininity through conservative
fashion choices like dresses and skirts, which is a roundabout way of saying "no pants."
It appears that Joy and her siblings sometimes break this rule, though, and one notable time
was during an episode of Counting On.
In one video clip of Joy and Austin on their honeymoon, you can see Joy wearing a pair
of ski pants, with no skirt or dress to be seen.

of Hermione's name.
He keeps saying "Her-my-own," whereas any wizard worth his or her salt knows the name
is phonetically pronounced "Her-my-o-knee."

"I don't think it was the books that had him going to the library."
The Twitter user suggested that Rowling "included that passage on how to pronounce Hermione's
name in Goblet of Fire just to school all of us who were saying HER-MY-OWN like Viktor
Krum."
Rowling responded with a terse, two-word tweet:

Surviving Busy Days at Disneyland - Tips and Tricks - Duration: 5:25.
Those of us who have visited Disneyland for a long time now that there used to
be the offseason of Disneyland and then the regular season well it seems like
now more than ever there's not so much of an offseason when the crowds are
small so no matter if you're visiting in springtime around spring break
throughout the summer months or into the Halloween time and Christmastime seasons
you're bound to find big crowds in this video we're going to talk about some
other things I like to do on those busy days when the crowds are everywhere but
you still want to have a great time so we're gonna suggest some things that
maybe you haven't done before and also maybe some things that aren't gonna have
huge lines so let's dive in my first tip to making the most of busy days is to
make sure you arrive when the park opens or what Disneyland fans lovingly refer
to as rope drop when they drop the rope at the end of Main Street and let the
guests enter the various lands during those first few hours after the park
opens you'll likely be able to get on as many attractions as you will remove
depart closing so make sure to make the most of that time
the next tip almost goes without saying but make sure you're using the Fastpass
system or even better than max past system I'll put a link in the top corner
of this video to my video all about max pass and fast pass bottom line is using
those will allow you to get out more of the popular attractions without spending
as much time in line as the various attraction wait times go up and up this
is some of the tractions that aren't as popular we love writing the main street
vehicles on busy days there is rarely a wait and that's a great way to get off
your feet do be aware that as Main Street gets more crowded in the
afternoon they sometimes close these vehicles early or head over to the
rivers America and enjoy a relaxing ride aboard the Mark Twain or the sailing
ship Columbia both of these attractions can take a lot of guests on each trip
and they offer a classic Disneyland experience speaking of classic
Disneyland experiences no busy day is complete without a visit to Walt
Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room and great moments with mr. Lincoln both of these
attractions rarely have a wait longer than the show's time which is about 15
minutes and the fact that both of these attractions were originally created
under the direction of Walt Disney himself makes them uniquely special and
significant for Disney fans on busy days we love to visit the animation building
and California Adventure not only is the lobby area beautiful as you are
surrounded by classic Disney Animation but it is also home to the animation
Academy where you can learn to draw Disney characters from a real Disney
artist or you can go to turtle talk with crush and talk to the sea turtle from
Finding Nemo even on busy days these are great options without too long waits
the next tip is to enjoy the live entertainment Disneyland and California
Adventure have to offer the bigger shows like frozen live at the Hyperion and
making the magical map both have very talented performers and offer either
shade or air conditioning and unless you want the perfect seat you don't have to
wait too long to get in in addition to these Big Show's make sure to check out
some of the smaller area entertainment during the busy times of the year Disney
offers a lot of smaller entertainment options throughout the parks
so the problem you'll be facing is not enough time to see all of them just
check the app or the entertainment pad well when you enter the park to pick out
your favorites
if you watched in my other videos this tip won't surprise you but make time on
those busy days to enjoy some Disney treats whether it's a funnel cake and
yays ice cream or adult whip food is a big part of Disney trips for me and it's
fun to sit back with a treat and people watch and protip if the Deline for the
dole whoops is too long hop on the Manarola and head over to the Disneyland
Hotel because they sell dole whips at the coffee shop at the Disneyland Hotel
and there's often no wait plus it's fun to take a break from the
busy parks and visit the slightly more relaxed resort hotels and lastly when it
comes to the nighttime spectaculars on busy days set your expectations
appropriately on those nights you would have to wait several hours for a prime
fireworks spot so instead of using all that time sitting in a crowd I would go
in with the mindset knowing you're not gonna be able to get the best view but
to check out some of the alternate viewing locations like Neary it's a
small world or further down Main Street or near the rivers of America now it's
not gonna be a perfect view like you would see on the commercials but you
will get to spend that time leading up to the fireworks Making Memories at
other attractions eating treats or even people watching as you explore the parks
