Illustrating A Tropical Leaf Pattern | Rebranding My Creative Business Part 2 - Duration: 6:56.

one last thing that I made for my branding was a brand pattern which is

that planty thing that you can see in the beginning and end of my video so

stay tuned for part 2 coming out next week coming out next week yeah when I

said next week I actually meant four months later

hey guys I'm Jeca and welcome to The Adventures of Jeca Martinez, a

channel that is all about creating your own artventures. If you guys are here

about four or five-ish months ago, or six months ago, when I posted part 1 of this

video series, first of all I apologize, and second of all y'all have waited long

enough so let's get into it. As always I begin an illustration with a sketch and

this one is a whole clump of garden plants.

I've also tested this sketch out to make sure that it can tile seamlessly to form

a pattern. And next is my color comp slash color palette and I'm gonna be

referring to this palette all throughout my painting process.

So like I mentioned two videos ago, this video is part 2 of my Rebranding my

Creative Business mini series, and here I'm going to be showing you how I made

this pattern for my branding. Now why you may ask, why, what what's up with having a pattern?

Well part of branding is making sure that everything that has to do with

your brand, like the graphics, conveys your brand's voice and personality.

And since my business is very heavily visual because of all the art and animation and

illustration, I wanted to design my own recurring graphic elements that I can

use all throughout my business like on my website, my videos, social media,

business cards, etc etc. If you can't tell by now I'm quite drawn to fun,

vibrant patterns. And natural elements like plants and animals are recurring

themes in my work so I just wanted to continue that with my main brand

pattern.

Illustrating this pattern did take a long time because of the amount of

plants in it, and I also have to put each leaf of each plant and its own layer in Photoshop

just so that I can animate them individually.

So a common--Amber. Amber. Shoo, shoo, shoo, shoo, shoo, shoo.

i-aefjveyhfw--Amber! Amber! Amber! Stop! Stop, stop.

I'm sorry if you're hearing my cat

She's kind of worried that I may be yelling so she's trying to bite me.

But anyway a common question that I get in my illustration timelapse is what

software and brushes do I use, and I currently use Photoshop CC and it

already comes with Kyle Webster's brushes, which is what I use.

Lastly here I am stitching together the edges of my illustration so I can form

one tile to convert into a seamless pattern. And I'm using my sketches as a

guide for the placement. Now I'm so sure that there are some a easier and less

meticulous way to go about this, but this is just what I did with this illustration.

And--*coughs*.

And here's my main plant pattern!

So for the longest time I didn't know what to call this artwork,

Like I just kept calling it "Plant Pattern"

Such creative, I know.

And then the best me and ever came to me, so are you ready for it?

It's called "Gosh Gardenit"! Get it? Get it?

because it's a garden and it's a play on the words gosh darn it and it's funny...

and they also designed five other patterns that I can use throughout my

branding and these patterns are a lot less complicated than the Gosh Gardenit

pattern like I just look some elements from the Gosh Gardenit pattern and

repurposed it into these patterns. But they all do have equally punny names.

So we've got "That's So Ferny"! You have to say it that way. Get it?

Because it's "funny", "ferny", and these are ferns.

And then this one is "Oh Yellow There"! Yellow...Hello...

And this is "Joey Macaroni". I don't know why that name,

that name just stuck in my head and I couldn't shake it off

or anything so it's Joey Macaroni. And then this is "I Want Candy" because this

pattern reminds me off Fleming goes I'm kidding candy of course oh and lastly

this is you better believe it and it's laughing at my own jokes and all these

packets are available in my shop so you can get them as art prints or shirts or

mugs or something fancy so if you want to get that for yourself or for your

friend or for whoever I'm gonna make my shop down below if you enjoyed this

video then please give it a like and while you're at it be sure your

subscribes create your own adventures and I'll see you in the next video

How to knit on double pointed needle, dpn

Available in wooden dpn or metal dpn

In some set there are 4 or in some there are 5 needles

dpn of various numbers or of various sizes are available

When there are less number of stitches like 30, 40 etc then circular needles cannot be used

We cast on by double long thread CO method.

While joining the stitches in a round be careful that stitches should not be twisted.

Using fourth needle, knit the first st on the left needle and connect all sts in a round. Then knit as usual

While knitting the first stitch of every needle, make sure that there is no gap and the st is tight.

We need to use dpn when we work some sweater from top to down that is if we start from neck

Breaking News - Haye set to retire from boxing following second Tony Bellew defeat - Duration: 3:17.

David Haye is set to announce his retirement from boxing, ending a 16-year professional career that saw him become a two-weight world champion

The 37-year-old posted on Twitter on Wednesday evening that an update on his future was imminent and Sportsmail understands a decision has been made to walk away from the ring on the back of two straight defeats by Tony Bellew

It comes after repeated calls to quit from figures in and around boxing. Plenty felt he should have left after his first defeat to Bellew last year, when he ruptured his Achilles mid-fight, and that sentiment intensified sharply following his fifth-round stoppage loss to the same opponent earlier this month, during which he was a shadow of the brilliant fighter who unified the cruiserweight division before winning the WBA heavyweight belt in 2009

Those titles from the first seven years of Haye's career ought to be the legacy of one of Britain's most exciting fighting talents

But there have also been numerous controversies, ranging from his broken toe excuse following the let-down of his defeat against Wladimir Klitschko to his brawl with Dereck Chisora at a press conference in the wake of the latter's defeat to Vitali Klitschko in 2012

He then beat Chisora in a polarising bout sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation at Upton Park – a fight condemned by the British Boxing Board of Control

He only fought four times in the subsequent six years, with no bouts at all in 2013, 2014 and 2015 owing to a succession of major injuries

Barring a drastic late U-turn, his record will read 28 wins and four defeats, with 26 knockouts

Haye will remain in the sport as a promoter, with Joe Joyce the leading name in his Hayemaker Ringstar outfit

The Londoner wrote on social media on Wednesday: 'Thank you for your kind words of love and support over the last couple of weeks

'I look forward to updating you on my plans for the future shortly, sometimes it takes a little while to find the right words

'

Real Madrid ready to negotiate over £70million Manchester United transfer target - Duration: 2:18.

Real Madrid ready to negotiate over £70million Manchester United transfer target

Manchester United are one of the clubs interested in sealing the transfer of Real Madrid attacking midfielder Isco this summer.

And according to Don Balon, Los Blancos do not see him as untouchable and could be ready to sell him ahead of next season, which will be music to United's ears.

The Spain international seems precisely what Jose Mourinho's side need in the final third, with their team lacking spark and creativity in their most important games this season.

Despite finishing 2nd in the Premier League and reaching the FA Cup final, few would call the 2017/18 campaign a successful or memorable one for United.

Mourinho's side still finished a whopping 19 points behind champions Manchester City, and were poor in their Wembley defeat to Chelsea at the weekend.

Isco would certainly add something to this team, with the 26-year-old showing himself to be one of the finest creative players in Europe in recent times.

Still, Don Balon also mention interest from the likes of City and Juventus, so it remains to be seen if Real's willingness to sell will necessarily benefit United, or simply spark a major bidding war for the player.

Even in that eventuality, United surely have the financial resources to see off top clubs for Isco's signature if they do seem him as a priority target.

Another recent Don Balon report suggested Isco would likely cost around £70million.

[Szok] Alexi Lubomirski wyjawił intymne kulisy ślubu Meghan i Harry'ego || LVTszok - Duration: 4:51.

Alexi Lubomirski wyjawił intymne kulisy ślubu Meghan i Harry'ego

Alexi Lubomirski wyjawił sekrety Meghan Markle i księcia Harryego.

Nic szalonego.

Chodziło o rozkład ludzi – chcieliśmy, by część siedziała, część stała, dzieci były na kolanach rodziców.

Najtrudniejsze było wydobycie realności – dodał.

Jak wam się podobają zdjęcia wykonane przez Lubomirskiego?.

 Świat jest nimi zachwycony.

This girl is RIDICULOUSLY good at accents!! *talented* - Duration: 10:02.

Hi!

I'm back

Arabic Mike and...

Rebecca

If you're here watching live, amazing to have you hear as always

and...

Lina's gone straight in there and asked for a Welsh accent

go on... ooo I got to get into it - it's a bit tricky this one isn't it...

I don't know what i'm doing... my Welsh is a bit difficult

i'm not even going to try a Welsh accent I can't really do it

but you're much better at it than me

that's alright you've just got to get into the lilt of it and a little bit of a ...

... country Welsh accent that is

that's good - you;'ve got north Wales and south Wales haven't you as well

they're quite different but I just do one I don't know where I'm doing it from I just

do what i think is right

you've even got the mannerisms as well - the shaking of the head and everything

that's quite funny

next request - Sana says Ireland - do an Irish accent

oo we've been doing that a bit recently so it's been like

cos we've had a lot of rain here so, it's been showering quite a lot

I think one of the words which I can no longer say in a British accent is shower

shower, has to be done

That's the best word to say with an Irish accent to have a way in, so if you need to

say a certain word

or a certain sentence, if you have like a trigger word that you always know

like shower?

like shower

so then you can kind of just get into some similar vowel

Princess Charlotte's Stately Sneeze Is The Cutest at the Royal Wedding - Duration: 2:40.

If you only ever saw the photo above, you'd probably assume that Princess Charlotte was

in the middle of a wave to the crowd at the royal wedding, when her eyes caught a ray

of sun, which caused her to screw up her face a bit, but it's actually so, so much better

than that.

The 3-year-old, surrounded by photographers and royal guests, was in the middle of an

adorable sneeze.

And in the category of "royal toddlers, they are just like ours," Charlotte sneezes

right into the palm of her hand and can later be seen holding hands with the other flower

girls and page boys.

To their credit, both Princess Charlotte and Kate Middleton took the impromptu sneeze in

stride and continued down the stairs to join the rest of the wedding party.

And further proving that she is a royal pro at age 3, Charlotte went right back to smiling

and waving at the crowd without asking her mum for a tissue or wiping her wet little

hand on her beautiful white dress.

Taking photos of young children can be tough.

If they aren't crying, they're not looking at the camera, or fighting with their sibling.

But royal wedding photographer Alexi Lubomirski managed to get all—well, most of—the bridesmaids

and page boys to smile for the camera.

Perhaps his most impressive feat is that he got a big grin out of Prince George in both

of the official royal wedding portraits.

He had appeared to be a bit shy earlier in the day, hanging on to Prince William's arm.

Some kids may dread becoming the middle child, but it's definitely not the case for royal

big sister Princess Charlotte!

On the way to meet her new baby sibling at St. Mary's Hospital in London with her dad

and older brother George, the young princess couldn't resist charming the waiting press

with an adorable wave.

Neither Prince William nor his two eldest children could contain their smiles as they

walked up the steps to visit Kate Middleton and the new baby, but Charlotte (who turns

3 on May 2) definitely seemed most thrilled by the fanfare surrounding her new brother's

birth.

Naturally, with the world watching for updates about the royal baby, the internet shared

a collective "aww!" at Princess Charlotte's sweet wave.

We're sure the proud big sister will have plenty more tender moments with her brothers

in the near future, but in the meantime, watch her adorable wave below, then melt over the

first photos of the royal baby!

Hiking at Koli, Finland - Awesome Landscape and a Cave - Duration: 25:02.

That´s a hideous looking cave...

am I supposed to enter that ...

This is not a place for any man...

The cave continues on

Oh man...

Hiking at Koli, Finland - Awesome Landscape and a Cave

Hey guys, greetings from Koli National Park

The location is in Eastern Finland, Karelia

An amazing place, can´t deny that

There´s a hiking trail here, Herajärvi Trail

I had to come up here for the views

I could´ve started the trail without climbing up here

It was worth the trouble though

We´ll return here in the end of the hike

We will explore a nearby cave also

We´ll stay for two or three nights on the trail

depending on how the hiking goes

In four days I have to be back home, so that´s the limit

Let´s go down to the Herajärvi trailhead

It´s been hot for the last week or so

very warm days

it´s around 24C now (75F)

I keep sweating all the time, even with a slow pace

the heat wave ends after today actually

we´re expecting rain tomorrow

and the temp will go down to around 14C (57F)

It will be quite a difference

Ikolanaho, an old farm building

It is used as a reservation cabin these days

A fire ring next to it too

I need to rest a bit

Hiking in the heat is strenuous

A thunder might be coming

Grey and blue clouds are building up

Ryläys camp site is next, at 6km distance

There´s a shelter and a scenic observation tower

A small stream runs under the planks

I couldn´t resist taking a few gulps of water

Myllypuro stream

That´s a nice current

(drinking water without boiling is not suggested :-) )

I drank two cups

because the current is so good

From the little stream back there I drank just a little

The stream was weak with little water

So if the water would be bad,

I won´t have my stomach full of it

If you drink wild water, you should know that

it is never the same as chemically cleaned water

There will always be some amount of bacteria

There´s no need to be hysteric about wild water though

I haven´t had any problems

Modern people don´t have enough exposure to the land

Immunity needs exposure

many studies suggest we are too divided with nature

I guess the thunder storm isn´t coming after all

the sky is dark still, though

but those clouds haven´t rained down at all

It´s 9.30PM and we´re at Ryläys hill campsite

we´ll stay here for the night

there´s a large kota shelter here

I´ll show it in a while

This is a forest next to a small bog

Not many good spots for a hammock here

I think I found a decent camp spot

looks like a tent site

This place looks like it´s quite new

the shelter looks new

The area doesn´t look like an old camping site

The trail here was kind of strange

it was a strenuous climb on the hill here

wet ground with lot of roots

The trail seemed like it was just drawn on a map

without seeing the actual terrain

the trail went through some difficult spots

it rained after all too

right after I said it´s not raining

only a few minutes later it was raining

The rain felt refreshing only for a while

it created huge moisture in the hot air

the air felt heavy to breathe, even

heavy, moist air that usually preceeds thunder

a rain won´t refresh much

the heavy humidity hangs in the air

So moist you could use gills!

It was a very sweaty hike here

It was a downhill trail from where we started

the whole distance was at around 9km (5.5 miles)

the last two kilometers were difficult

I kept sweating like crazy!

I´m not a huge fan of tea, but

I do like some

I like this wild berry tea

get in there...

Behind the trees is the kota shelter

it looks very new

and modern

even windows on the sides

it´s very tall

here it is

It´s a basic design

a continuos plank on the side

a heavy wooden bench

a fireplace with a flue

This is a very large shelter

it could hold a lot of people

if it was very cold outside for example

or some sort of emergency

many people could sleep on the floor alone

It´s over 11pm

it took me some time to set up camp

the light starts to fade

will be dark for a couple of hours

I was a little too hasty when looking for a camp spot

in retrospect I should´ve chosen a better spot

I did manage to set up my stuff

I had some trouble setting up the tarp

I had my tea and a couple of sandwiches

I should be okay for the night

Sweating all afternoon really got to me

I´m tired and ready for bed

I´m feeling weak and strained so it´s time to rest

I hope to recover by morning

Good night now!

Good old breakfast is served

strong coffee

and oatmeal

I mixed an apple-cinnamon mix with the oatmeal

besides that, just regular oats and water

I never actually knew why Koli hills are considered a National Scenic View

there are so many other great landscapes too

Northeast Finland is very scenic too

So I did some research for this hike

In late 17th century

a national pride and admiration was rising

it involved some Karelian mysticism

of all things considered very Finnish

it was a very different time of the world

Finland was a part of Russia

Finland hadn´t been independent as a nation

but nationality was rising

So the artists of the time, late 17th century

were visiting Koli a lot

they were looking for inspiration from the landscape

Koli was seen as a core Finnish thing

in a time of nationalism rising

Quite interesting in fact

Such a different time from today

I don´t remember any of the artists by name, but

but one of them wrote a poem in the cave we are going to visit

the writing is still visible I understand

even though it was done in 1890´s

when we get to the cave,

we´ll try to find that old text

I´m not sure how the cave can be entered

I´m not too keen on crawling in tight spaces!

I don´t think I´ll enter if it´s very constricted

But we´ll find out later

Okay, it´s time to move on

We´re heading towards Kiviniemi

there is a rope ferry crossing across a strait

First let´s see the tower nearby

I want to see the view

We´ve arrived at halfway of the hike

I´ve hiked for 10,5km (6.5 miles) today

We´ll cross over to the other side of Herajärvi lake

Well here´s a very safe place for a fire

There´s also a sauna

I don´t know if it´s open for anyone

Kiviniemi, a farm motel is along the route

they offer accommodation and such

there´s also a lean-to shelter

Nice view toward Koli hills (where we started)

Two hiking trails split here

You can continue to a 60km loop trail (37 miles)

It goes a different way

We are going along the 40km (25 miles) route

We´ll cross over on a rope ferry

the trail continues on the other side

We are halfway through the trail now

The warmth of the fire feels nice

Very resinous wood, smells good

This shelter is on a very windy spot

Wind blows from the lake

I was sitting outside and my hands got cold already

the wind chills quickly

The weather is sketchy, yesterday was a hot day

Now the temps are just over 10C (50F)

Sun hasn´t shined all day

The wind is chilly

Here are my main meals for this trip

Dehydrated red beans

dehydrated tuna

rice noodles

with them, I mix a chanterelle mix

The food turned out tasty

Maybe not for a party held by the President, but

only if you make the guests carry a full pack for the day first

This is the farm accommodation

I think it´s by reservation only

the service isn´t open all the time

seems quiet at the moment

except for this cat!

Hello!

Where did you come from?

Hello, hello

We have two cats also

He´s an unneutered fellow, even

We´ll take the ferry across

A familiar type of rope ferry

Another old farmhouse, Lakkala

It´s right along the trail

Not a bad site at all!

It´s like a different world

with these old buildings

and the milieu

that fence is awesome

Good morning

I´ve survived to another day

and a great looking day it is

We´re at Ylä-Murhi historic farm and campsite

A semi-shaded area

Very open, but the tall trees make a good shade

It´s a bright, sunny morning indeed

can´t complain

it´s not very warm, some morning chill

but the sun shines on the blue sky

I was thinking earlier

in the winter you kind of forget details about summer

like the birch leaves sound in the wind

it´s almost like hearing it for the first time

a very summery ambient

I hiked pretty much yesterday

and I´m feeling sore

I felt like a wooden statue when I got up

my back and my ankles are hurting

on yesterdays part of the trail

the trail kept going up and down

very long descends

you have to hold back going down

very strenuous on my ankles especially

I think I´ll get it going again

It´s about 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) we have left

not very much

there was something wrong with the signposts though

The farm accommodation was supposed to be halfway

with 20km back to Koli

but when I kept going

I almost immediately saw posts saying 15km to Koli

A couple of kilometres were lost somewhere

don´t know why

is the loop trail shorter than it should, or

maybe the signposts are wrong

of course it´s possible that it´s me who´s messed, but

I do think I read the posts correctly

Time to load up

we´re heading to the cave with the old text

Oh, there´s a busload of tourists

could be too crowded

Have to wait for a while

for the people to leave, hopefully

one big bus and two cars

I went nearby, where the stairs go down to the cave

I could hear a very loud crowd there

also a smell of detergents and perfumes

that´s too much right now

I´ve been alone in nature for two days

Can´t take the noise now

I might be getting excluded

from normal living and people

for spending so much time in the woods

There it is, I guess

A very unpleasant tunnel in the rock

am I supposed to enter that?

This is not a place for a human

O M G

Awesome!

There´s a way out too

I guess I´m okay then!

I´ll tell you, If I didn´t know that

this is an often visited place,

I wouldn´t gotten in here, I´ll admit

The air is cold

moist and chilly here

I wonder if I´ll get through

But where´s the old text?

I haven´t done my homework on it

I think it´s useless to try and find it randomly

don´t know where to look

Up there

strange rock formations

there´s also a belief, that this is only the entrance

to a bigger cave, how exciting

an exciting place

I get this feeling if I stumble on a rock,

a chain reaction will cause a disaster

but it´s rock solid here literally, so I should be okay

I think I see a large opening

high up there

oh man

I get to see outside a bit

makes me feel better down here

let´s keep going

if some oldtime artists came here, I won´t bail out either

except this is the end

no, wait...

there

it seems to go on up there

this is otherworldly somehow

you have to climb to get there

Well that was exciting

I´m a little shaky now

I turned back where

you need to climb the rocks to keep going

unto another level perhaps

I think the cave continued there

but I was hearing people behind me

in fact, when I got out of the cave

a Russian TV-crew was outside

I asked them if I got on TV,

one of them said "NO"

ok have it then

Cave formations aren´t exactly

a comfort zone for me, I´ll tell you that

but it was exciting, I might have to return some day

I´m glad I got that private moment inside

We´re back at Ukko-Koli

the highest peak here

it´s a ridiculously awesome view

I don´t wonder why the oldtime artists

saw this as a mystic Karelian realm

Koli is made of rock, by the way

so it´s not a sand hill,

or a pile of rocks,

like most hills in Finland, but

Koli is the remainder on an ancient mountain

and it´s made of solid rock

Places like this make the mind shut up

you just stare at the beauty of the lakeview

This trip ends here, and it´s time to head home

We´ll return to the area later in the summer, or fall

Then we´ll head to Patvinsuo National Park, a huge bog

Thank you everyone, we´ll meet again in the next video!

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper: Russia swung election for Trump - Duration: 11:45.

president trumpet his allies pushing a narrative that is completely unproven so

far that the intelligence community under President Obama planted political

spies too politically spy on his campaign intelligence officials

including the former Director of National Intelligence retired General

James clapper are forcefully denying what he is suggesting they were spying

on a term I don't particularly like but on what the Russians were doing trying

to understand where the Russians infiltrating trying to gain access

trying to gain leverage and influence so what they do so why doesn't he like that

he should be happy that we should be that's a general clapper on the view

President Trump firing back on Twitter quote no James clapper I am NOT happy

spying on a campaign would be illegal in a scandal to boot he added quote even

clapper world's dumbest former intelligence head who has the problem of

lying a lot used the word spy when describing the illegal activities let us

take a second amidst this barrage of insults personal attacks on the general

that general clapper has served this country for nearly six decades first as

a Marine than in the Air Force rising to the rank of a three-star Lieutenant

General he served as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency from 91 to

95 he was appointed director of national intelligence by President Obama in 2010

a post in which he oversaw 16 different agencies joining me now is retired

General James clapper and he coincidentally is out with a new book

titled facts and fears hard truths from a life in intelligence general clapper

thanks for being here I want to get your response to to what President Trump had

to say about you today I mean if you look at clapper he sort of

admitted that they had spies in the campaign yesterday inadvertently but I

hope it's not true but it looks like it is did the intelligence community spy on

President Trump in his campaign no we did not and that is a distortion of what

I said I had an aversion to the use of the term and I thought I thought I made

that clear and the important thing is here what was this all about well what

it was about was trying to determine what the

Russians were doing were they trying to gain access infiltrate a political

campaign didn't matter what what which campaign and nothing to do was spying on

the campaign per se it was about the Russians which is what we should we

should all be concerned about to include president Trump but to be fair whoever

the confidential sources were and we know of one of them and I don't know if

there were others but they were trying to find out not just what the Russians

were doing but what any members of the Trump team might have been doing with

the Russians - right well my understanding and again I should point

out Jake that I did not know about this contemporaneously the I was doing this

on its own yes which is the standard procedure I mean I I never knew the

identity of informants in the FBI nor should I and so I'm sure this was and

there's very strict rules and protocols for using informants in any circumstance

and especially one one like this and it appeared to me from what I've read

now that unfortunately the individuals been exposed in some parts of the media

that this is a very benign thing that where he engaged directly with two or

three people about and again trying to glean insight into what what might the

Russians be doing here to gain access to the campaign allies of the president

including a former campaign staffer Michael Caputo and former House Speaker

Newt Gingrich have really been brutal attacking you take a listen I'll tell

you when we finally find out the truth about this director clapper and the rest

of them are gonna be wearing some orange suits I know Jim clapper for years I am

astounded how bad he looks now I'm astounded how dishonest and incompetent

he looks it was the Director of National Intelligence what do you think he was

charged of doing he was in charge of spying your response well I sure hope I

get to go the assisted-living wing with that aren't sued I guess I I don't know

what they suggest that you've committed a crime of some sort well I take take

umbrage at that I've been committed a crime I was trying

to explain my understanding of what this informant was doing and it wasn't spying

on that on the campaign you know I just I I take I take exception to it and I

don't particularly want to dignify it by talking about too much Caputo says that

he told the intelligence committees House and Senate and Muller's team that

a second individual who worked for the US government approached an intermediary

a friend of his and offered up hillary clinton's missing emails were there

other individuals poking and prodding members of the Trump team trying to find

out if they were getting emails or other information from the Russians well there

could have been you know I don't know what this what this is about and I don't

I don't actually know what mr. Caputo was referring to by just presume I mean

the inference I drew from that was there was another informant from some other

part of the federal government I'm not aware of that you're not aware of any

when you say there could be do you know there never say never but I I'm not

aware of I wasn't aware of the first one and nor should I have been you know I

didn't monitor informants in the FBI and or their identities or you know I just

that's not something a DNI would do you have a book out just came out yesterday

it's doing quite well in the book you write quote of course the Russian effort

affected the outcome of the election surprising even themselves they the

Russians swung the election to a Trump win to conclude otherwise stretches

logic common sense and credulity to the breaking point now this is more than you

stated when you were Director of National Intelligence and you and your

fellow intelligence officials put out that report you avoided making a

conclusion one way or the other about whether or not it had an impact have you

learned more information or is this just you speaking as a private individual

both so to be clear we did not and it was very deliberate did not make any

assessment or any call what impact of the meddling had on the

actual outcome of the election that wasn't an hour charter Authority or

capability to do but that was but since I became a private citizen knowing what

I know of what the Russians did that the massive effort that they undertook and

the the variety of means that they used and the number of millions and millions

of voters that they got to to me it stretches credulity as I said in the

book and and logic that not to think that they didn't help swing the election

given the fact that turned on eighty less than 80,000 votes in three states

so that's a what I would call an informed opinion I didn't I don't have

the empirical evidence to go with it but it's just thinking about it and seeing

and understanding better since I left the government the full magnitude of

what they did I in my mind in my opinion they did affect the election what do you

make a president Trump last night in this morning putting out this conspiracy

theory that there were spies sent in there from the Obama administration to

spy on his campaign politically that this is a horrific crime that has been

that that occurred he's the victim of it all as somebody who was Director of

National Intelligence while this counterintelligence investigation into

the Trump team was going on how do you assess what he's saying well I think

he's deliberately spinning a narrative that whereby he's a victim of the deep

state spying on him or spying on that campaign which is it's not the case what

we were concerned about and what particularly FBI and but everybody else

but particularly FBI was concerned about was the Russians what they were doing to

penetrate or influence the campaign and for me they were simply doing their jobs

what would he we'd expect them to do does it offend you when the president

says these things yes it does doesn't surprise me any longer yeah it's

offensive general clapper good luck with your book and thanks again for coming by

we appreciate it thanks Jake

you

Book Discussion | The Stone Sky [CC] - Duration: 11:55.

Hey! What's up, you guys? It's Connor, and today I'm gonna be doing a book review

for The Stone Sky by N.K. Jemisin. If you guys don't know, The Stone Sky is the

third book in the Broken Earth trilogy, and as it is the third book, this review

is going to contain some spoilers for the series just because... Why would I keep

it spoiler free? It's the third book. I did book reviews for the first two books

in the series, and I will leave those up in the card symbol as well as down in

the description if you want to check out my non-spoiler thoughts on the series

which both of those videos are non-spoiler. But for this one there's not

really a reason to keep it spoiler-free, so this one is going to contain spoilers.

Since this is the third book in the series, I'm just gonna jump right into my

review, give you my pros, give you my cons, give you my rating, and be done because I

don't need to go through the whole spiel about what the first book is about. My

first pro for this book is that I just really loved getting the backstory for

this world. I love that this future earth has all of this history, and it kind of

went from a very advanced technological society and then reverted into one

without as much technology because they got a little bit too big for their

britches and took on more than they could handle and the earth kind of

backlashed and knocked them down a few pegs. I

thought it was cool that we got to learn a little bit more about the stone

eaters, and the origins and how they came to be, and how they came to be because of

genetic manipulation and genetic engineering. And I think my favorite part

of this book was that past part. It has two different timelines. It has the

current timeline where Essun and Nassun - I can't say their names - are

working towards their goal of either saving the Earth by capturing the moon

or destroying the Earth which is what Nassun is trying to do. I preferred the

past storyline where we're learning a lot more about the world, and learning

about the origin of the stone eaters, and everything like that, and the first kind

of Fulcrum-like area. I liked learning about Hoa, and all of the different stone

eaters, the original stone eaters, and how they were kept, and how they were kept as

other even though they were a product of what humans had created. I guess they

technically were a flawed product of what humans created because they weren't

supposed to have many emotions, and they did. They just got better at hiding them

because every time one of them displayed emotions, they were taken out

to the garden and basically used as, like, a human battery similar to how

the nodes would have the young orogene children put into them and were just

used to as, like, a conduit, and it was terrible. Keleni was one of my favorite

characters in this book because she bridged the gap between the stone eaters

and the humans. She could understand both sides, but she wasn't a part of either

one. She's kind of parallel to mixed-race children and mixed-race people because

they have elements of both and they can identify as both, but then neither fully

accepts them sometimes. So I felt like there were some parallels there. I like

Essun's journey in this as well. That was probably my second favorite part of

this novel. [It] was [that] she goes from being this very secretive, very reserved woman to

allowing herself to set roots a little bit with this travelling community that

she's going around with. She lets herself loosen up a little bit, and she starts to

invest herself in these people. She starts to make more connections instead

of keeping herself at arm's length. She accepts that her past has happened, but

she somewhat allows herself to step away from that and to grow again. She

does a lot of growth in this book especially in terms of motherhood. I

think that motherhood is something that's really addressed in this book, and

I liked that exploration. You see Essun as she is struggling to realize that her

little girl Nassun is now growing up into a woman and she doesn't have

control over Nassun anymore. And it also talks about Nassun understanding Essun

a lot more which happens with children. So the mother is having to let

go, and see their children making their own mistakes, and everything like that,

and then the child is starting to understand their parents a little bit

more and realize that the parents did certain things further own good. But they

still don't have to like everything that their parents did.

So Nassun finally understands why Essun was so harsh on her as a child and how

Essun really gave Nassun the ability to survive in this world and to survive as

an orogene when people really hate orogenes. She made her strong and resilient

to a lot of different punishments and terrible things,. But she treated Nassun

terribly, so [Nassun]'s allowed to be upset about that. But she appreciates a little

bit more how her mother raised her. Essun repeated some terrible processes that

occurred to her as a child, but it preparedness Nassun. And so she understands

it, but she still is bitter towards her mother about it if that makes sense. So I

loved that whole aspect of the book, and I thought that it really accumulated

well in that final scene where they're competing with each other to try to save

the world or destroy the world. Essun realizes that she's not going

to be more powerful. She cannot control Nassun anymore, and she has to let go.

And so Essun finally lets go and allows Nassun to make her own choices...

you know, [she] saves the world, and recaptures the moon, and all that stuff. But I

thought that whole mother-daughter exploration was fantastic. Definitely one

of the best parts of the book. One of the best things about this series is that

there are some real consequences for different choices that they have. So with

that whole mother-daughter dynamic that is happening throughout this book and I

guess the whole series but especially in this book, Essun has a lot of

consequences, and some of them kind of relate to that mother-daughter thing.

Like, every time that Essun uses magic, she has one of her body parts turned to

stone, and she loses that body part because Hoa the stone eater eats it.

At the one part where she uses the magic and then one of her breasts gets turned

to stone, she has to lose the breast and everything like that. She immediately

starts thinking about her motherhood, and how she raised her children with them

having access to her breast milk, and everything like that. And it pains her

more emotionally than it does physically because she's starting to lose her

ability to feel pain in those areas, and once it turns to stone, it doesn't hurt

her. Emotionally she has a harder time letting go of those body parts that are

associated with motherhood and stuff like that, so I thought that was really

interesting. And I loved that she had some really big consequences for

overextending herself in the previous book. I just love that over time she is

giving more of herself physically and emotionally to save the world and

everything like that, so I thought that the real consequences in this book were

fantastic. This book wasn't as unpredictable I was hoping it would be.

It was a good ending. I enjoyed it but I knew that Essun... At the beginning

of the book when we found out that alabaster was

a stone either now. I was like, uh well, Essun is definitely gonna become a stone

either, and she did. And I predicted that they would eventually stop the fifth

seasons from happening which also happened. So a satisfying ending, but it

wasn't unpredictable. I'm trying to think if there's any other pros, but I can't think

of any off the top of my head. So let's move on to some cons. Nassun was grating

on my nerves during this book so much. I don't know why I was finding her so

frustrating. She was preventing me from getting

invested in the book a lot. It's understandable that Nassun would be so

attached to Schaffa because Schaffa saves her and everything like that and

has been there for her where her parents have not been there for her. So it makes

sense that she would become so attached to him, but she's SO attached to him...

ridiculously so. And I just didn't love it. I didn't understand it. I couldn't get

behind it for some reason. Nassun kind of realizes that Schaffa is the

person who treated her mother terribly, but then she's totally fine with having

such an emotional connection with him even though he was awful to her mother.

And just because he's being okay to her means that he's the greatest thing

on the planet? I didn't... I don't know. I just couldn't get behind it, and because

of that she started annoying me throughout the whole thing. So I really

didn't like her chapters or following her because I didn't like Schaffa and she

loved Schaffa. But I also found this book A LOT slower than the other ones. The

plot of this one is so meandering. The main characters Essun and Nassun are

just floating around not really doing anything. There's not really that much

drive in the characters. I mean, Nassun is going after trying to destroy the

world and stuff like that, but it's not happening very quickly. There's a lot of

traveling, and plotting along, and not getting anything done. And it was

just not as interesting to me. This book ended up taking me two and a half months

to read. And I mean, it's chunky, but it's not that long. Like, I read way bigger

books in way shorter of time frames, so I just was not invested in this. I actually

ended up switching from reading the book physically to reading the book as an

audiobook halfway through so that I could actually finish the novel. The

audiobook definitely helped me push through this novel and finish it because

the ending was good like I said in my pros,

but it was just getting there that was a hard time for me. Once you get past the

halfway mark, things start to pick up and the action starts to happen. The characters

are finally getting to their destinations and everything like that, so

it gets a lot more exciting. But man oh man is it slow. Another con for me was

that I was listening to the audiobook at the very end, and there's just one random

chapter from Alabaster, and I don't understand why that was important to

have at all. It definitely threw me out of the story so bad because I didn't

know who it was at first. I didn't know why that that was included at all. It was

just, hey here's a chapter from Alabaster as a stone eater. I guess it

could have something to do with how when Essun comes back as a stone eater,

she's not fully herself. She's just the core parts of Essun recreated in this

stone eater body, and then that's the whole trilogy. [Hoa is] telling her the

story of what she was doing during this time period and her life as a child.

That's why we get the perspectives that we do in the first book, but I just

didn't think that that was necessary. And my last con and my biggest one that

affected my whole reading experience was that I just couldn't get invested. I've

said that a couple of times in this review already, but I didn't like Nassun.

I thought that the plot was really meandering and slow, and I just didn't

care as much as I cared for the first two books. I thought the first two books

were freaking amazing. They were definitely some of my top books that I

read in each of the years that I read them, but this one... I don't know what

happened. I wanted to love this so much, and so many of my friends freaking adore

this book and this series as a whole. And they talk about how this is the way to

end a series and stuff like that, and I believe it. I don't know if maybe it was

my mood when I was reading it for two-and-a-half months or what, but I just

could not get invested in this book and it really affected my reading experience.

So overall I really enjoyed this book. I really enjoyed figuring out where the

characters ended up, and figuring out more about the world history, and all of

that stuff. The storyline in the past was definitely my favorite because I loved

learning about the history and everything like that, but I just couldn't

get invested in the present storyline because it was maybe a little bit too

predictable and I don't know. I just wasn't getting invested. I ended up giving

this book 3.75 stars, somewhere in there.

3.5? It definitely was not as good as the first two books for me, and

that's why it has a little bit of a lower rating than those two. But it's

still an enjoyable read, and I think that it finished up the trilogy well. I just

wish I had been able to dive right in and get as engrossed in the story as I

did for the first two books. So that's gonna be my review of The Stone Sky by

N.K. Jemisin. If you liked it, please give it a big thumbs up and comment down

below if you were totally invested in this story. What were your favorite parts

of this book and of this trilogy as a whole? Is there anything else by N.K.

Jemisin that you would recommend? I know she's written another trilogy and a

duology, I believe. I am interested in those, but I want to know what you guys

think of them if you have read them. Anything else you want me to know, leave

it down below, and I will talk to you guys next time. Bye!

Why would I keep

which both of those videos are non-spoiler. But for this one there's not

Since this is the third book in the series, I'm just gonna jump right into my

just, hey here's a chapter from Alabaster as a stone eater. I guess it

could have something to do with how when Essun comes back as a stone eater,

she's not fully herself.

Bye!

✅ Unikátní objev: Našli poklad za 370 miliard! - Duration: 2:20.

Třístěžňovou a 62 děly osazenou galeonu španělského námořnictva potopili Angličané 7

června 1708 nedaleko opevněného přístavu Cartagena během tzv. války o španělské dědictví

Loď tenkrát vezla zhruba 200 tun smaragdů, zlata a stříbrných mincí!

KLP TV: Zacznij od haseł // Start with passwords (English subs) - Duration: 4:15.

Passwords are everywhere: we use them on social media login pages or when we want to buy new shoes.

Many possibilities wouldn't be available to us, if we didn't have password-protected accounts.

However, with an increasing part of our life going on online every day,

we must come up with new passwords all the time – and this is becoming a problem.

Let's be honest: there are still few people who use a unique password for each online service.

My name is Karolina Owczarz, and today I'll tell you why this approach is not the best idea

and what you can do about that.

As Kaspersky Lab's research has revealed, people belong to one of two groups:

those who use strong but forgettable passwords, and those who set passwords that are easy to remember,

but also to hack. Let's see what are the consequences of each of these approaches.

Password dilemma: strong but difficult to remember

People setting complicated passwords struggle to remember them.

Their accounts may be well-protected, but they often have a problem with logging in.

After all, it's much easier to remember the phrase "password123" than what you can see on the screen.

Many people understand the need to set complicated passwords: 63% use such passwords

to protect online banking accounts, 42% do so with payment apps, and 41% - with online shopping.

However, over half of them admit to storing their passwords insecurely,

and as many as 23% say they have written them down in a notepad – without any security measure.

In this case, it doesn't matter how strong the password is, because it can be easily intercepted.

Password dilemma: short, handy, but easy to crack

10% of those participating in Kaspersky Lab's survey admit to using a single password for all their accounts.

By doing so they are much more likely to become victims of mass account hacking.

If the same password is used for all accounts, the risk is that if one of the accounts is hacked

the rest of them will also be left open to cybercriminals.

The research has also found that 17% of the respondents had their account hacked over the last 12 months.

So, is this problem unsolvable? Fortunately, not.

Password dilemma: what if there is a third way?

Both these problems can be eliminated by one solution:

password manager such as Kaspersky Password Manager.

An application of this type is very easy to use – the user only needs to set one strong password to protect all the others.

Application stores passwords and enters them as you log in, as well as protecting them by means of encryption.

Let it be clear – the safest method will always be using strong passwords that you are able to remember on your own.

However, if for whatever reason this is not possible, password manager will be a much better solution

than writing down passwords in a notepad or sticking them to the screen.

Tips: what to do and what to avoid

For those who want to take matters into their own hands and manage their passwords

on their own, we have prepared a few tips.

Every password should have at least 8 characters – the longer it is, the better.

Avoid choosing passwords that can be guessed. Personal information such as the date or place of birth,

partner's name, etc. can be found on the Internet, e.g. on your Facebook accounts.

Don't use words that can be found in a dictionary. They are vulnerable to dictionary attacks –

someone may crack them quickly if they use an appropriate software.

Combine uppercase- and lowercase letters, as well as numbers and symbols.

Don't recycle passwords – e.g. karolina1, karolina2, karolina3, etc.

Use different passwords for different accounts so that if one of them is hacked, the rest will remain safe.

If you suspect that a specific password ended up in the wrong hands, change it immediately.

That's it for today. Remember that passwords are in most cases the first line of defence

against cybercriminals as far as online accounts are concerned.

Follow our tips to be safer, and find out more information about online threats in our blog Kaspersky Daily.

See you in the next film.
