What is the SILHOUETTE CAMEO 3? What can I do with it? - Duration: 13:24.
hi guys welcome to my channel Avanti Morocha.
today I'm going to talk about Silhouette Cameo 3
I will tell you all you need to know to get started and how do I use it.
For those who don't know the Cameo 3 is cutting machine and
it's able to cut over a hundred types of materials like paper cardstock, vinyl, fabric and more
There are two versions of the Cameo 3
The Bluetooth edition that includes the bluetooth adapter already installed
This model is offer in the USA Canada and EU
and the Standard edition that is Bluetooth compatible
but it doesn't include an adapter
if you have the standard edition you can buy the adapter to enable the bluetooth
if you don't know what edition you have to check the box
in the bottom right corner you should say bluetooth included or bluetooth compatible.
For me it's really convenient to use the bluetooth,
I like to have the Cameo on my worktable and my computer on my desk without any cable between them.
This is the Cameo 3, the button to turn on the machine is on the right side
Here is the port for the USB,
here is the port to connect your computer to the Cameo if you are not using the Bluetooth
and here is the power cable
Cameo 3 has a touch screen.
Press the gear and then select your language
I'm going to leave it in English
press the arrow back.
Now you can select a sleep mode, theme, watch a tutorials and more
Cameo 3 hasa lot of storage
you can pull these pockets here
place your tools here
your cross cutter here if you have markers you can place in here
and place your blades here.
The CAMEO 3 provides a dual-carriage to hold two different blades simultaneously.
Cameo 3 comes with the auto-blade.
I'm going to show you how to remove it.
Pull the tool holder tab towards you
and pull the blade.
This is the auto blade, as you can see it has some ridges.
This blade can only be place in tool holder 1.
The tool holder one is the only one that has notches where the auto blade can slide into it.
Now push the tap holder,
you'll see that there is now a blue circle.
This means the tool holder is lock.
Let me zoom in this area.
To insert a blade the tool holder has to be unlocked,
This is how it looks when is unlock.
To lock it push the tool holder tab.
You'll see the dot became blue.
This is the deep cut blade. It doesn't come with the machine,
but I recommend getting it if you are planning to cut material like vinyl
glitter card stock or craft foam
Insert the blade into the tool holder and lock it.
Keep in mind that only the auto- blade will change its settings automatically when using it with Cameo 3.
The rest of blades need to be set manually.
For example the deep cut blade depth can beset from 1 to 20
It has two lines .
The blue line is from 1 to 10 and the red is from11 to 20
if you see blue it means that you are setting the depth for the blue line
and if you only see red that means that you are setting the depth for the red line.
You'll need to change the blade depth based on the parameters Silhouette Studio shows you when selecting a material
or based on the thickness of the material.
With Cameo3 you can adjust the rollers to cut different size materials
A4, letter, 12 " and 13".
Release the lever and turn it clockwise,
Hold the roller body and head then twist it into the unlock position.
Slide the roller to the desired position.
and twist it to lock it in place .
Move the lever back to its position.
when placing the mat pull out the little tabs in this area.
these help you to keep the mat in a good position.
it is really important to align the mat with this blue line.
Now load the mat.
Silhouette has a lot of languages to choose from when staring the setup,
which is one of the many reasons the setup of Cameo 3 is so easy .
These are the steps you're going to follow to register and download the software.
When you are in step #5 check you inbox, cameo will send you an email with a code
that you'll use to get a free subscription to Design Store for a month.
The program that you get when you buy the Cameo 3 is Silhouette Studio Basic Edition
This software is very powerful,
especially when compared to other design applications bundled with cutting machines..
If you are familiar with graphic design software, you're going to like the interface of Silhouette Studio.
There are a lot of keyboard shortcuts that you can use.
if you are not familiar with a graphic design software don't get scare,
you have all the information you need in the Cameo manual and there are a lot of online tutorials
This is Silhouette Studio Basic Edition,
on the left side you have a couple tools
like the Select tool, edit points, make a line, draw a shape, the freehand pen,
add text, add a note, eraser and a knife on the right hand side you have panels
On the right size you have panels,
like the pixel scan, fill, line style, trace, special effects,
text style, transform, replica, modify and more.
I'm now going to design store. Here you can buy projects.
Some of them are 0.50 cents other are a little more expensive.
You can also pay a subscription you can choose the basic, deluxe, premium or diamond.
you can also select the length of the subscription three six or twelve month.
Now go to the library.
when you buy the Cameo 3 it comes with a hundred images, click the library folder
It's important that you create an account on Silhouette Cloud,
everything that you buy in Designer Store is going to be sync to the cloud.
The Silhouette Studio I showed you is the Basic Edition
if you need more functionality you can upgrade the software
to the Designer Edition for $49.99
or to the Designer Edition Plus for $74.99
or to the Business Edition for $99.99
if it is in your possibilities I recommend getting the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition,
This allow you to use SVG files.
As you know I sell digital files on Etsy and my favorite files are SVG
the main reason is that they are vector and that they save the information of their dimensions.
For example if you buy the patterns to make these succulents you will open the SVG files
on Silhouette Studio Designer Edition and the only thing you need to do is send the job out to cut
if you want to change the size you only need to adjust the proportions
and because it's an SVG file it retains the quality of the cut.
now I'm going to teach you how to make a cake topper
using one of the images you got for free with the purchase of your Cameo 3.
Go to the library and select the Happy Birthday image.
I know I want a topper to be 5 inches tall.
I'm going to remove the parts I don't need
Select everything and press ungroup.
I am now going to remove the exclamation sign.
Link the dot to the letter "I" now select the elements and press the weld icon.
Go to the offset panel and set the offset to 0.05
press apply.
Go back to the modify panel and select the elements then press the weld icon.
Now I have a ticker stroke.
Select the Edit point tool
There are tons of points to simplify them press this tool
I am now going to use this set of tools to modify some of the lines.
For this cake-topper I'm going to use the deep cut blade.
select everything and press tool 2.
Instead of using Cameo pre-settings for glitter cardstock.
I'm going to use my own which I have tried and I know works.
Set the deep cut blade to depth 20 speed 3 force 28 passes two.
The time it took to cut the cake-topper was about 4 minutes
These are a couple projects I made with Cameo 3: cake toppers, I cut small flowers,
flower centers for large flowers, greenery for flower backdrops
this box, stickers and this succulent.
I want you to keep in mind that the time the cameo is going to take to cut a project
it depends on how complex is.
For example to cut the center of this flower is going to take you about two minutes
and to cut the center of this flower is going to take you about four minutes
if you're a crafty person and you make project all the time you're going to love the Cameo3
if you have an event decor or catering business this machine is going to be of a lot of help.

Fitbit Versa vs Fitbit Flex: What's the difference? - Duration: 8:03.
hey what's up it's Jerad with State of Tech and I wanted to talk about the
difference between the Fitbit flex and the Fitbit Versa now whenever I get a
new piece of tech I always get asked questions about it a lot of the people
that I know personally are always wondering what I'm carrying on me as far
as a phone or a tablet or a watch and so I get questions quite often and the
Fitbit has always been like my consistent device because I'll switch
back and forth between iPhone and Android and Fitbit is really the only
kind of cross-platform device that gives me the features and the tracking
information that I want you know and and can go between the two different
platforms so I wanted to talk a little bit about the difference between these
two because they're significantly priced different and they also offer a lot of
different features so the Fitbit flex is one of fitbit's
original devices it's simply a tracker of movement it doesn't track your heart
rate or really anything else but it does have an extremely long battery life and
now with the Fitbit flex 2 it's waterproof I mean it's it is a pretty
fantastic little piece of tech however it doesn't give you that full spectrum
of data like the Fitbit Versa does the Fitbit Versa also tracks your heart rate
and has other sensors inside of it and especially with the heartrate it's able
to tell a lot more about how your fitness is going of course if with just
the movement or the activity tracker you know if you're running or doing anything
it only can track your movement it can't track any additional data having the
heart rate data and the fitbit Versa of course gives it the ability to give you
a little bit more rich information it can track kind of the different zones
whether you're in like more of a fat burn zone or a higher cardio zone it can
track all that stuff and an alternative to that when you're sleeping it can also
track and give you much better sleep data because it can track where your
heart rate is it learns where you know your resting heart rate is when you're
awake where your resting heart rate is when you're sleeping
maybe when you're walking it's knowing and being able to kind of
all that data together and give you a better look at what your sleep looks
like so for me I really like that because it now I know the quality of my
sleep as opposed to just being a awake or or asleep which you know you're only
gonna get that awake or asleep with the standard Fitbit and a lot of
other watches are really only giving you that information as well so you get a
lot better data out of the Fitbit Versa as far as that goes so beyond that the
Fitbit Versa also has a nice display you can see the information here on it which
with the Fitbit flex you have to you have the kind of LEDs here and it shows
you where you're at but as far as exact data you have to go to the to your phone
app for that and that data there isn't really much of it there so it's really
more of just like your standard your standard step counter as far as that
goes where the Versa adds a lot more with the verse a you can you can see
incoming calls and text messages you can hang up on a call if you need to with a
future update for Android you're gonna be able to respond to your text messages
from the watch probably not on the iPhone because Apple locks that down but
at least you can still see the text messages also your calendar activity
you'll get your notifications popping up here which is great I like being able to
tap between my heart rate my steps and my calories burn for the day there are
some apps in here your exercise and coach apps which are fantastic if you're
doing you know going for a run or doing something like that you can track that
and then there's also coaches right here so maybe you have a little bit of free
time you're at the gym or maybe you're on a lunch break you've got you know
10-minute ABS a seven-minute workout just some different some different coach
activities that you can use in here and then of course if you I think of you
subscribe to that within the Fitbit app you get access to a ton more stuff which
is great I mean it's good to have that just right in your watch and you can see
the movements on the screen you can do those workouts that's something that you
would need some you know an app you need your phone or something like that if you
do that with the Flex alarms of course you can set alarms for the Fitbit flex
to wake you up however the Fitbit Versa vibrates a lot
harder I've gotten to the point where I just wouldn't feel the vibration of the
Fitbit flex in the morning but the Fitbit verse I definitely feel because
it has a bigger bigger vibration I guess you could say and of course there's also
the screen feedback there whereas with the Fitbit flex probably in my sleep I
just tap it a couple of times and then it shuts up whereas the Fitbit verse
I've got to push a button on the side - - to shut it up I guess you could say
weather data timers Starbucks app Pandora I mean my
nest I can I can do some minimal SmartWatch stuff with this watch which
is great I could sync some music over - it connects some bluetooth headphones
it's just not as great of a process as some other devices but it's better than
nothing which the Fitbit flex doesn't offer that stuff so overall you know the
battery life on your Fitbit flex is gonna be a little bit better I normally
get about four to five days out of my Fitbit flex and it's a bit old we're on
the Fitbit verse I get three to four days depending on the usage if I'm not
working out not really doing anything too active I'm getting four days easy
out of the Fitbit versa if I'm using the activity trackers the coach you know
using a little bit more of the features inside the watch it may even dip down
into the two day range but what's nice about it is that it charges up fast on
average I'm getting about three three-and-a-half days of use out of the
Fitbit Versa I love all of the data that it's giving me it's giving me better
data over and above the Flex and so with that said I think the price difference
is definitely worth it so if you're looking for something you can wear 24/7
to you know track your movement throughout the day track your workouts
when you have time for fitness track your sleep because that's important to
you the Fitbit verse is definitely going to
be a much better all-around overall device so if you're thinking about
upgrading from a flex or maybe even jumping in and deciding what Fitbit is
right for you it really comes down to what kind of
data you're wanting and how you're wanting to interact with that data
the Fitbit verse is definitely going to give you a lot more data a lot better
insight into that data in the Fitbit app as I've kind of shown you on screen
while I've been talking but the Fitbit flex is really small really minimal
stays out of the way isn't a distraction and so there are things to be said about
the Fitbit flex and the simplicity so really you know just you just have to
kind of consider the data and what you want to be wearing on you all the time
if you're wanting a watch if you're wanting that better data if you're
wanting a little bit of minimal notifications from your phone the verse
is a no-brainer there now if you're wondering about the versa between the
Apple watch I have a video for that I also have a comparison video between the
verse and the Apple watch so you can check those out I'll make sure to link

I do not know, but all kinds of food. Traditional Angolan, typical anything I would eat I love food - less pickles I do not like pickles and I do not like eggplant
My favorite dish just so you know it's beans. I like and love beans, beans will however be eaten with anything
porridge, rice, pasta all, let's go 2º fact I hate gym hate
I hate any sports activities I hate it I hate it, not even until
down there it's just hhhhhh, so you know where it's down there as well
walking up there is already tiring then, Today is a beautiful day, so decide to record this.
