Youtube daily report w May 25 2018

- This building has had many different

hats throughout history.

- [Shane] Alright, well let's try 'em on.

- I'd say this, the exterior looks quite nice.

- [Shane] Yeah, it does, they've really

done quite well for themselves.

- [Ryan] Let's see why this place has

the reputation it does.

(spooky instrumental music)

This week on BuzzFeed Unsolved,

we investigate Moon River Brewing Company

in Savannah, Georgia, as part of our ongoing

investigation into the question, "Are ghosts real?"

This building has plenty of rich

and perhaps violent history.

- Rich and violent, that's a package right there.

- Yeah, it's all been leading up to this moment

for when the boys come in.

A mustachioed Shane and Ryan.

- Feels good to hear ya say it.

- Sorry to everyone who has to look at that this episode.

Just know I don't like it either.

- It's a mustache town, Savannah.

- Alright, well let's get into it.

Moon River Brewing Company is said to be

one of the most haunted institutions in Savannah.

One of the bar's owners, Gene Beeco, said, quote,

"I have seen and experienced things that

I don't understand and I can't explain," end quote.

Though the brewing company's other owner and brewmaster,

John Pinkerton, has said, quote, "I personally cannot

"claim any experiences that I call paranormal.

"What I often point out is that the scariest

"things on this planet are living people.

"I don't worry about the spirits of dead people.

"I worry about living people, and in particular,

"drunk living people," end quote.

Regardless of which owner is right,

there is plenty of history in this building

that could contribute to a haunting.

- [Shane] So Pinkerton, he thinks this is all baloney.

- [Ryan] Yeah, and then the other guy, he's like me.

If we opened a bar, I'd be like,

"I saw bottles moving off the shelf,"

and you'd be like, "Yeah, it's all baloney."

- [Shane] Yeah, "He's full of shit!"

- [Ryan] I love that he's scared of

just drunk, living people too.

He turned it into a commentary on

how it sucks to own a bar.

- [Shane] He did, yeah, I did like that

it came around to that.

I thought he was gonna say, "I spend my time worrying about,

"you know, fraud and serial killers."

But no, just his unruly patrons.

- [Ryan] You get some of the devil's juice

in someone, you know, things happen.

- [Shane] Yeah, their darkness comes out.

- Yeah, yeah, we don't know anything about that.

Or maybe we do, Jesus Christ.

Is this why you did the mustache?

Did you do something last night?

- Oh, you think this is a disguise?

(Shane and Ryan laughing)

Surely no one will recognize me

with my thick, full mustache.

- [Ryan] The building in which the

Moon River Brewing Company is housed

was originally built as a hotel

known as the City Hotel.

It is said to be the city's oldest surviving hotel/inn,

built by Elazer and Jane Early.

Construction on the hotel began in 1819,

opening eventually in 1821.

The hotel was known as a luxury establishment,

but violence was not uncommon among the hotel bar patrons,

especially as it was often frequented by

hotheaded politicians and businessmen.

In 1832, one troubling incident of violence occurred

with a belligerent lobby bar patron named James Stark.

Stark was bad-mouthing the local doctor, Philip Minis.

The feud between the two had been said to be ongoing

and reports suggest Stark's verbal attack on Minis

included anti-Semitic barbs, as Minis was Jewish.

Stark also accused the doctor of being a coward,

which reportedly set the doctor over the edge.

Stark allegedly reached into his pocket,

and Minis reacted by drawing his gun

and killing Stark first.

Minis was charged with, quote,

"Justifiable homicide," end quote, as it was a,

quote, "Affair of honor," end quote.

Stark was reportedly seen as a town troublemaker

and some have posited that Minis got off so easy

because of Stark's unpopularity with the locals.

Much of the ghost activity, including people

being pushed inside the brewery, has since been

attributed to Stark's vengeful ghost.

This is where we're gonna find Mr. James Stark.

- [Shane] The a-hole.

- [Ryan] The a-hole, correct.

He was shot right around this area, right here.

- [Shane] Oh, right here.

Yeah, this looks like a good place for a duel.

- He was an anti-Semite so, like I said,

this guy was kind of a dildo.

I think we should reach out to him right about here.

This is where we'll find him.

Alright, well Mr. Stark,

we've traveled a long way to see you.

- Well, I didn't come here just for him.

- We didn't come here just for you,

don't flatter yourself, but my name's Ryan.

- My name's Shane and we're the Ghoul Boys.

- Yeah, we're the Ghoul Boys and we hear

that you were kind of a dick.

- That's a very light way of putting it.

- Yeah.

- You didn't get along with your doctor.

He's just trying to look out for you.

Their job is to make sure you live

and your doctor killed you.

- Yeah.

- What kinda asshole do you have to be?

That violates the Hippocratic Oath.

- It does.

I haven't read the oath myself but I'm pretty sure

shooting somebody is against the oath.

- I don't think they even put it in there.

They don't say, "Hey, by the way, don't shoot your patient."

- Anyways, James, now that we've really gone in on you,

I hear that a woman was pushed down this set of stairs.

It's not conclusive that it was you.

- Stairs are tricky.

- So why don't you go ahead and push us?

- Push me, I'm right here.

I'm very top heavy so you just give it a slight push.

- How about it, James, you got anything to say?

James Stark, that's who we're reaching out

to right now, are you here?

Gonna give you some silence to show us

that you're here and that you want to talk.

You could say something, you could move something.

How about it, James?

Alright, James, so if you don't wanna talk

to us right now I'm gonna bring out something

that's really gonna piss you off.

- You're gonna hate it.

This is the one time that I'm glad we're using this

'cause guess what, James, this sucks.

This thing's fucking stupid, James.

If you thought getting shot was bad,

wait 'til you hear our spirit box.

- Ah!

Alright, James or any spirits who haunt this floor,

who's up here with us?

Me.

- Oh, I thought it said James.

- My name's Ryan, that's Shane.

Can you say our names back to us if you wanna talk?

Right now we're reaching out to James Stark specifically.

Mr. Stark, do you have anything that you wanna say to us?

Use this device to talk to us.

- Never.

- Why not?

We're not here to hurt you, we just wanna talk.

- Blue diamond.

- Go.

What's the name of this building?

I'm gonna ask that again, what's the name of this building?

- What city are we in?

- I'm turning it off.

Alright, James, we're moving to a different

part of the building, you didn't wanna talk to us.

We're gonna be around, though, so,

you know, you know where to find us.

We're gonna be down the hall.

- Feel free to really pound us.

- Yeah, or go fuck yourself, how 'bout that?

- Yeah, either, or, up to you, dickbag.

- [Ryan] In the mid-1800s, violence escalated

because of the many Northern guests

and political tensions at this time.

There were allegedly violent outbursts

between locals and hotel visitors.

Reportedly, in 1860, a Northerner

visiting from New York named James Sinclair

was lynched and nearly killed by locals,

who resented his presence in town.

- [Shane] What year was this?

- [Ryan] This was 1860, around the time of the Civil War.

- [Shane] I feel like you should read the room

when you're making vacation plans during the Civil War.

- [Ryan] If you are a white dude like this guy was,

I'm gonna assume you could just go wherever you want,

just don't start saying, "I fucking hate the South.

"I'm from the North."

- "I'm a yankle-doodle dandy, oh!"

(Ryan laughing)

- [Ryan] The hotel closed in 1864 at the onset of

the Civil War allegedly because the violence between

the guests and the locals had reached a tipping point.

Tour guides today actually warn guests to not

taunt the ghosts too much, as they may become violent.

- [Shane] I find that the places that people

consider most scary out of all these places we go to,

you're bathed in darkness, it's usually very quiet,

I find it relaxing.

- [Ryan] I don't know, people are normally just

scared of very dark, decrepit places.

- [Shane] I was born in the darkness.

- [Ryan] Oh my God, did you just quote Bane?

- [Shane] Yeah.

I did, it's fun.

- Is there anybody here who's upset about

what happened to them in this hotel that wants to

talk to us right now 'cause we'll hear you out.

We're not here to hurt ya.

I know this guy's mustache suggests otherwise.

- You don't have to bring up the mustache.

- It's creepy, I get it.

- I probably look like a lot of your friends.

- That's probably true, actually.

Oh, is that what this is, you committed to the role?

- I did this for the ghost hunting.

- Yeah, that's what you did it for?

- Yes, I'm a paranormal investigator

and I take my job seriously.

- Weird, I remember you saying that,

"Oh, I was shaving my face and then I stopped."

- Well, I did, that's just a play-by-play of what happened.

- It's the reason you stated before,

but okay, now it's because you're a

serious paranormal investigator, I get it.

- Oh, hello there, ma'am.

Aren't you sweeter than a dewdrop?

Why you look finer than honey butter on a June afternoon.

- Did you just whisper?

- No.

Did I get a whisper?

- Yeah, you did.

- It's me, Banjo, your old pal from the bank.

I saw you strolling with your son, Bradley.

- Who is that?

Those are people, right?

I mean, they have to be people, they're so God damn clear.

- I don't hear people.

- If anybody was talking can you talk again?

Oh God, I'm gonna have to ask you to

say that in that stupid voice.

- Would any of y'all like to pull up a chair

and join me in some conversation?

Like a cat on a hot tin roof.

- Well, we're gonna leave now.

We're gonna go to a different part of the building.

- Thank you kindly.

- During the Civil War, the hotel served

as a Confederate hospital, sometimes referred

to as the River Battery Hospital.

Some say the building was used as a hospital

for soldiers from both the North and the South.

So now we're heading up to the fourth floor.

Definitely one of the more active areas of this bar,

this is where the hospital used to be.

- [Shane] Oh, okay.

- So yellow fever patients, mostly children,

and of course Civil War soldiers.

- [Shane] Okay.

- We already had our static cam set up here

so that's been recording all night.

This seems like a good place to turn off our lights

because it truly is dark in here.

- [Shane] Okay, you wanna kill 'em?

- Why don't we do that and then we'll reach out.

If there's anybody up here you could say something.

- [Shane] You could scream.

- Bang on something.

There are rumors that this was a Confederate hospital.

You have anything to say about that?

You angry you lost the war, you lost your life?

I get it.

Are there any kids up here?

Sorry we scared you before.

- [Shane] Yeah, we're fun, we're nice guys.

- I know you're sick.

Do you wanna play?

It doesn't matter to us you got the yellow fever,

we got it too.

- [Shane] We got it too?

That's a weird thing to say.

- Yeah, I know, it felt weird.

- I feel like this season you've gotten very aggressive

with the ghosts in a way that maybe betrays your belief.

- How is that?

- I feel like if you truly believed in them

you'd be a little more respectful.

- Imagine you went to lunch with someone

and the whole time you're like, "Oh, so how was your day?

"How'd you get here?

"You got stuff to do after this?"

- To be fully accurate here,

you'd have to be sitting at a table alone,

staring at no one, asking 'em questions.

- Well, I'm comparing it because ghosts to me are people,

so then it would be, to me, like going on an outing

with somebody and the whole time they say nothing.

Eventually you're gonna go, like, "Hey!"

- "What the fuck's wrong with you?"

- "What's the deal here?"

Over time, the building would become

a coal and lumber warehouse, a supply store,

and now, in present day, Moon River Brewing Company.

Let's go over some of the other hot spots of the building.

The restaurant area is said to be a place where

servers report being touched or pushed by unseen figures

and bottle/silverware have reportedly been seen

being pushed off of tables by unknown forces.

Startlingly, the apparition of a woman from the 1800s

was spotted walking across the crowded bar.

A bartender thought she was an actress

or a re-enactor about to order a drink;

however, she disappeared in front of

his eyes as she reached the bar.

There were reportedly many other witnesses

to this incident and as she disappeared,

it's reported a hush fell over the room.

- Here we are in the restaurant now.

- We hear that somebody likes to walk around down here.

We're walking around too, just exploring.

I wanna know why you're still here.

Little girl?

- [Shane] What'd you do?

- Dropped my headphones.

- Did you drop them or did they get--

- No, I dropped them.

We'll do a quick flashlight,

what if I pan my flashlight over there and there's a face?

- [Shane] Why would you think that would happen?

- I don't know, worth a shot.

That same woman has also been seen

on the top of the first floor stairs.

She was spotted by a manager who reportedly

asked her if he could help her,

which startled her and then she vanished.

I'm gonna go to the top of the stairs.

- Okay, good luck.

- It'd be really unfortunate if someone

snuck up on me right now.

- Push him as hard as you can.

- You could do that if you want.

- Make him tumble.

- Rock me down these stairs.

- Push him down the stairs.

- Look, I'll make myself an easier target.

- Ryan, yell "show me the money".

- What do you even mean, why am I doing that?

Why am I quoting Jerry Maguire?

- Well the money is like the,

you know, metaphorical evidence.

- Alright, show me the money!

Let's go!

Come on.

- What the fuck are you doing?

- I'm dancing.

They don't like my dancing, do you like the dancing?

- It's not great.

- Give me the business, come on.

- Give me the business.

- Come on, give me the business,

give me the business, business.

This has been fun.

- This is a very serious ghost investigation.

(Ryan laughing)

- [Ryan] There was one well-known ghost who they call Toby,

who is often seen in the basement.

Some have referred to him as a negative spirit,

while current staff have characterized him as a young boy.

A bartender has also seen a shadowy black figure

emerge from the wall.

In this spot, one local woman was attacked.

She recalled the incident, saying that she was

alone in the back room in the basement when she

felt someone choking her and pushing her backward.

One prominent paranormal investigator reported

being momentarily possessed in this particular room.

Could this dark figure be Toby?

Hey, Toby.

Toby, what's down in this basement?

Why do people feel so oppressed down here?

- Toby, are you actually Lucifer?

- Is there actually a boy named Toby down here?

People say they see you.

We're here just to talk, we wanna play actually.

- Yeah.

- Wanna come play with us?

- If you don't you're gonna be in big trouble.

Tobester?

- Can you move something to show us you wanna play?

- What's Toby doing hanging around the basement of a bar?

- Why are you down here, Toby?

- Why are you down here, Toby?

What are you doing down here?

- Why do you choose to stay down here?

- Doing some weird Hardy Boys stuff?

- Especially if there's something dark down here,

why are you here?

Is there something down here that scares you?

What was that?

- So much moving around.

- Maybe you're intimidated by the both of us

so we're gonna split up.

We're gonna investigate this one by one.

- What do you think of that?

- And you could do whatever you want to us, I guess.

- You could really fuck with us then.

Alright, I'm down here in the basement now,

all by my lonesome.

Where'd my Toby go?

Tobester.

Tobester.

I know there are rules here.

- I'm gonna be honest, this may be famous last words,

but I'm not very scared of what's down there.

- I think sometimes there's value to darkness,

so I'm just gonna turn off my light and sit here.

Stare down at this empty room.

Maybe someone will see that as an invitation,

maybe a dark entity in general would like to possess me.

I'm a pretty good candidate.

Come on.

- Wouldn't it be crazy if Shane comes back up

and he's like, "I saw a fucking ghost."

- Don't be afraid of my mustache, Toby.

- Is the series over then, is that the end of Unsolved?

- Come on.

I've only got a couple more minutes, guys.

Shit or get off the pot.

- Five minutes is a long time for something to

happen to me down there without Shane realizing it.

I could've been choked to death by then.

- No, nothing, okay.

- [Ryan] How was it?

- What?

- [Ryan] How was it?

- It was great.

- What if you call out for me down there,

I don't respond and when you find me,

I'm just standing in the corner?

- I'm gonna close the door and leave.

- You would just leave me?

- Yeah.

- Why?

- If you're possessed we're not taking you home.

- [Ryan] Well, this is kinda horrifying.

I don't like it, don't like it one bit actually.

- I felt nothing down there.

To be fair, I feel nothing everywhere we go,

but this place more so than usual.

Will Ryan have better luck?

Maybe, he's insane.

- Alright.

Who's down here in this basement?

Huh?

Who?

Did I hear Toby?

Who's down here in this basement?

My name's Ryan, can you say Ryan back?

You use this device to talk to me.

Or show yourself, I guess.

What was that?

Is there anybody down here with me?

Looks like this ain't working.

Gonna go straight EVP now.

- I don't know, Ryan's been a little too confident tonight.

I think it doesn't suit him.

It's obviously annoying when he walks around being,

"Oh, there's stories about floating candlesticks,"

but when the pendulum swings in the other direction

he's pretty insufferable.

So I think we much prefer terrorized Ryan.

Will the basement put him in his place?

It solely depends on how much he gets in his own head

because his mind is his own worst enemy.

And it's my greatest ally.

- Who's down here in this basement

and why do you haunt this basement?

What happened to you?

Toby, are you actually a little boy?

Do I wanna know the answer to that question?

Gonna turn my light off, here we go.

Anybody down here with me?

I'm not here to hurt you, I just wanna talk.

I hear people see you all the time.

I've got the chills right now, actually.

So I wonder if that means anything.

Why do you hurt people?

Fuck, man.

Who's down here with me?

Why do I feel like I'm being watched?

Oh, boy.

Who's down here?

- That's your time, Ryan.

- That's my time?

I feel like you extended my time again.

- I think that's healthy for you.

Did you get all worked up down there?

- A little bit.

- Did you?

Oh, hey.

I'm pretty pissed we didn't get to hang out with Toby.

- I'm a little glad we didn't get to hang out with Toby,

but yeah, in the long run I'm probably angry

we didn't get to hang out with Toby.

Another investigation in the books.

What do you gotta say about this one?

- We fuckin' nailed it.

- [Ryan] Moon River Brewing Company has

plenty of rich history as a hotel and a hospital.

After numerous accounts of paranormal activity,

it's not a far stretch to say that some

patrons and patients never checked out,

but whether or not Moon River Brewing

is definitely haunted will remain unsolved.

Putin Pokes Fun At Macron Over "Huge" French Investments In Russia - Duration: 5:20.

France is a traditional, old and reliable partner.

I say that it is a reliable partner because France always took an independent stand on international affairs and always tried to at least uphold its sovereignty.

We appreciate this.

It is especially important and highly valued today as an earnest of stability in relations.

Overall, stability is what matters most in international affairs, as well as in interstate and economic ties.

Our relations with France are developing consistently and progressively.

Our trade increased by 16.5 percent last year and by 25 percent in January-March 2018.

As for investment, France's direct investment has reached $15 billion, and Russia has invested around $3 billion, or more precisely, over $2 billion, which is not enough.

But the French investment is not enough either.

I will disappoint Emmanuel: Germany is no longer our number one partner. China has long snatched first place in terms of investment and trade.

Our trade with China is approaching $850 billion.

How much? Sorry, it is $86 billion.

I would like to say that our trade with the EU used to be $450 billion, but it has plunged by half over the past few years, while our trade with China has grown.

It has backslid a bit, but it is still growing consistently. It will definitely grow to $100 billion soon. Sorry, 850 billion was a slip of the tongue.

The same goes for investment.

How much has Fortum invested in Russia, just this one Finnish company? Around $6 billion.

One Finnish company has invested $6 billion, and the whole of France only $15 billion.

Is this how it should be?

Yes, this is true. Fortum was the first company that came to mind.

We gave this Finnish energy company a permit to work in Siberia, where it supplies energy to highly sensitive facilities, including nuclear ones.

I would like to point out that the Russian economy is wide open to our partners and is very reliable, because we have attained macroeconomic stability despite the ongoing turbulence, which is important for our investors.

We were consistently working on targeting inflation and we made it. Last year we had a record low inflation rate of 2.5 percent.

The Central Bank forecasts the inflation rate at 2.8 percent but our experts believe it will be a bit higher. Yet, this is still a sign of stability.

We purposefully reduced expenses – and not only owing to energy price hikes last year – and decreased the budget deficit from the expected more than three percent to 1.5 percent.

This year we will have a surplus of 0.5 percent of GDP. The unemployment rate is also historically low, 5.1 percent.

All this is put together in a package: the national debt is less than 20 percent and our gold and currency reserves are growing

– we had 430 billion at the beginning of the year, I believe, and now this is already 450 and 460 billion and the trade balance is positive at over 100 billion, 130 billion, I think.

Put together, these figures create a platform for confident action, including joint action.

We hope our French friends will develop their companies in Russia and make a profit.

Yesterday I met with the biggest investors in our economy.

Some foreign funds took a fairly unprecedented step. They automatically invest together with our Direct Investment Fund into any project.

When our fund invests money, our foreign partners follow suit because they trust it.

JDM VIP Nissan Y31 Cima at an American Classic Car Show- Junction Produce - Duration: 8:14.

Hi Everyone! I'm Steve with Steve's POV.

Today there is a local car show...

Local car shows here usually have mostly American classics and muscle cars...

and a lot of old guys too!!

That's exactly why I am bringing the Nissan Cima to the event!!

What kind of reaction will it bring?

I'm excited to find out!

This car continues to amaze me all the time.

The steering wheel on this car is the coolest thing!

The fact the center stays stationary and the wheel around it spins is cool!

I can't recall another car with a steering wheel quite like this...

Let's get going!!

There are a couple of noticeable differences between car life in Japan and America...

Whenever I drive in a car in Japan...

I always notice that Japanese keep their gas tanks almost full all the time!

Americans are different... and not just about gasoline in their tanks...

We usually have just enough gas to get to where we want to go....

Even now I'm near empty on this car!!

At least the gas light isn't on yet but it will be soon!!

A lot of Americans run their gas tanks right down to the last gallon!

It's probably best not to drive your car that close to empty...

especially with old cars...

Old car's gas tanks usually have years of dirt and grime built up inside...

if you let the gas go down near empty, chances are you are gonna suck up that dirt too!

This can cause fuel related engine problems for sure...

Another big difference between JDM and American cars is the back up (reverse) sound!

Japanese cars in Japan always seem to beep when in reverse.

That backup warning sound is common in Japan but not on cars in the US.

Even Japanese cars in the USA don't make that sound...

I don't recall hearing a reverse warning sound on a 4 wheeler here before...

Similar to that is the speed warning sound as well...

at 105 km/h this things chimes over and over again!

It is annoying as heck!

I've said it before, a luxury car should be able to go a lot faster than 105 km/hr before warning sounds like that!

The turbo is so smooth on this car!

This Vip car has a lot of power and it sounds good too!

I just got to the local show...

as I was pulling in the guy at the entrance told me there was another JDM right hand drive car here..

and he was right!!

A local guy owns this R32 Skyline GT-R.

Besides that one car, its all American at this show!

A local cop came up to me before and asked, "what kind of car is that?"

I told him and he said he never saw one before...

he asked if it was a Toyota!?!?

No, I explained, this is a Nissan....

but I own a JDM Toyota RHD too and one of your police buddies pulled me over in it the other day!!! LOL

Not sure if he found that as funny as I did!

Anyway, lets walk around and see what kind of cars come to a local area car American car show!

It wasn't a huge event but it is a local event...

and I believe it is important that we support our local car communities.

These are people you will always see around town and its good to foster a sense of community with them.

You can make new friends at an event like this too!

I enjoy showing off this kind of Japanese car culture to Americans who never saw it before.

I hope my efforts will have some effect on spreading unique Japanese car culture even further in the USA.

Please subscribe to my channel!

I'm Steve, signing off from an American Local Car Show!!

Well, that's another day coming to a close.

Seems like time just moves so fast anymore.

And I never get everything done.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Tsuisou - 253: Indecision (Part 193) - Duration: 0:44.

I wandered to the AV Room where the Film Club were screening a film they made, but I had no real desire to watch an amateur film, so I just killed some time in the area.

After that, I just wasted my time doing nothing in particular...

I glanced at the time as I reached a landing on the stairway, it's getting close to the time Asakura appointed.

It's about time I made a decision... Then a thought crossed my mind. I've been pretty laid back about this whole thing this time, but can I really afford that?

Kyon: ...

I suddenly remembered a scene I saw in a drama once. The protagonist had absorbed a blow with a phone book hidden under his shirt.

Right, can't be too careful. I could be overreacting, but for all I know Asakura could be right around the corner in the next hallway at the bottom of he stairs.

Going by the wisdom of my predecessors, I should shove this between a T-shirt and trousers. I'm wearing my school uniform at the moment so it's poking out a little, but it's not too noticeable with my shirt hanging loose.

I'll just button up my jacket and it'll be perfect... Well, it's just about time. I'll just have to see what happens going forward.

Hm? This is a stamp for the stamp rally!

The Spirits of Moon River Brewing - Duration: 23:59.

A bartender thought she was an actress

or a re-enactor about to order a drink;

however, she disappeared in front of

his eyes as she reached the bar.

Cooking Bisque: Sharing Lobster Secrets - Duration: 4:10.

♪♪

Hey guys, hi.

Welcome back to my cooking show.

As many of you know, I am the proud father

of a world famous lobster bisque.

And if you've ever wanted to know my secret,

I am so excited to announce,

that today we're pulling out the big guns.

[heavy breathing]

Wow.

Also, I'm going to share my secrets with you.

Lobster bisque,

lobster bisque.

Lobster bisque,

lobster bisque.

lob-lob-lob-lob-lob

It's food.

The first thing you need to do is prepare mentally.

This isn't like making a soufflé,

or sending a rocket to the moon.

It's complicated.

And it's a spiritual journey.

It all starts with 27 minutes of meditation.

Jeremy: We don't have the time.

Time is all we have, Jeremy.

Time is a wheel..of parmesan.

Jeremy: We'll just edit this out in post.

Make a note of that.

Yum.

I'm sinking into the a-bisque.

The selection of your lobster is absolutely essential.

You think the 2016 election was divisive?

You should see the lobster tank.

After some initial vetting,

I do a one-on-one interview with the lobster,

to make sure he or she is worthy.

Now, how do you remain calm when you're in a pinch?

Do you find it offensive when someone calls you a shrimp?

Of all of your friends,

who would you say has a butter face.

Would you consider yourself charitable or shellfish?

Would you say that you are claw-strophobic?

An amateur might think that a very sharp knife is

more dangerous.

Not true!

A dull knife is actually more dangerous,

because you'll probably get so frustrated,

you'll stab someone.

Jeremy: Cut.

Next step, determine exactly how hungry you are.

Are you a hungry, hungry hippo?

Are you hungry like the wolf?

Now take that number and multiply it by ounces.

Jeremy: None of those things are numbers.

I'll give you a number.

I could do with about 10 ounces less

of your bad attitude.

Jeremy: Uh, could we pan to the left a little?

To the left, then the pan wouldn't be

on the stove anymore!

Could you quit it with the terrible ideas?

The most important tool for your lobster bisque is

your whisk.

Whisk it like its hot.

Whisk it like its hot.

It's all in the wrist.

Jeremy: You need to tell them

what ingredients you put in there.

I don't know what I put in there.

Jeremy: What do you mean?

Ignorance is bisque.

Jeremy: Are you serious right now?

Look at my face, Jeremy.

Is this my serious face?

Jeremy: We need a recipe,

it's the only reason we got funding.

Okay, I see.

For the recipe--

Jeremy: Thank you.

Go to the store, in the soup aisle,

pick any lobster bisque, and mix it in a pan.

Voilà.

Jeremy: Come on!

Happy Bisque-ing!

No lobsters were harmed until after the filming

of this show.

Thanks for watching that sketch.

3 BIG Mistakes To Avoid | Why You STILL Aren't Fluent & Confident In English - Duration: 15:58.

Hey guys what's up Stefanie the English coach here from EnglishFullTime.com

in this video I am going to show you guys how I speak Spanish but I'm also

going to tell you about some of the biggest mistakes I made mistakes you

should avoid so you can improve your English a lot faster it took me a long

time to get fluent in Spanish and again it's because of these mistakes I kept

making so here's the deal I'm going to tell you about these mistakes that I made

in Spanish so you guys can hear how I speak so if you don't understand this

language please turn on the subtitles so you can follow along because you're

going to want to see this information after that I'm gonna share a clip with

you guys from a presentation that I gave back in 2012 when I was 21 years old in

one of my college Spanish classes so you will be able to see the evolution of my

language skills basically how I spoke Spanish back then when I was just

studying Spanish in the United States and you know studying it in high school and

college versus how my Spanish was after living for over five years in a

spanish-speaking country with that said though I want to tell you guys that in

order to achieve what I achieved in English you don't necessarily have to

live in an english-speaking country and this is gonna be related to one of the

mistakes that I made I basically thought that in order to learn Spanish I had to

live in a spanish-speaking country and there were just so many misconceptions

so many things that I thought were true that really weren't ok so turn on the

subtitles in English if you don't speak Spanish and let's get started OK

first I want to say that my family is from Argentina my parents were born there

but they immigrated to the USA before I was born

and since they knew many languages... German, English, Spanish, French...

they only taught us English because it was the easiest thing to do. And when I was 14 years old

I realized that I didn't speak the langauge of my family. So I "buckled down" and thought

no! I have to learn this language I want to be able to communicate with my family

I want to visit them one day in Argentina so

I started studying Spanish in a program that was for Spanish speakers, so for me

it was like an immersion program. I did 3 years in

that class. Later I went to college to continue studying Spanish. I thought that

the only way to learn the language and reach fluency was

to study it in traditional programs. So I basically didn't do anything on my own

to study. I didn't listen to music. I didn't watch movies. I didn't watch videos on

YouTube I didn't read books

I just relied on my classes and what the teachers

taught me. The second thing I did wrong was I never spoke Spanish.

In high school and in college, I had a ton of friends who spoke

Spanish, but I was too embarrassed to speak. So I didn't take advantage of any

opportunity to speak with them or practice. I was too concerned with

being embarrassed and messing up.... but you have to speak you have to

make mistakes because that's you you learn. And basically, during all

the years I was in high school and college -7 years total- I almost

didn't take advantage of any moment to speak with other people. And since I never spoke

it was always really hard to express myself. The third "biggest mistake"

is that I wasn't confident at all! I mean, I was learning something new

but it was like I expected myself to speak perfectly from day one or something. But that's dumb

because when someone is learning, they're not an expert! You don't know everything yet, you're going to mess up.

But I didn't have the patience with myself to go through that process. Honestly

it's really sad. Because I could have learned a lot faster. I could have

had better experiences. But I was so worried about messing up

or saying something wrong that I was barely able to enjoy the process

and after living 5 years in Argentina I realized that in this day and age it's not

necessary --seriously it's NOT necessary-- to go to another country to learn their language

I didn't have to do everything I did to get to the level I have today. I did

everything people think you have to do, traditional classes, studying Spanish

in college, going to a Spanish-speaking country. And now I realize that none of that was

necessary because there are a bunch of people who, for example,

learn English, get really fluent, and have a really good accent without ever going to

an English-speaking country! So my 3 pieces of advice for you guys are... 1.

You have to consume lots of information in English. You have to watch

videos in English. You have to listen to music in English. You have to do EVERYTHING in English.

Everything that you can do in English, do it. Follow meme pages on

Instagram, for example, read books in English you have to do as much as possible

in English. The second piece of advice, you have to speak! You have to speak the language and not

worry about your mistakes. Because you're going to mess up, that's for sure. So forget about

speaking perfectly and give yourself the time you need to improve and to get to a

good level. It takes time! I'm 27 years old. I started studying Spanish when I was

14. 13 years later I got to where I am today. And the third piece of advice, don't

worry about your mistakes. I worried so much about my mistakes for so many years that

I didn't start speaking confidently till last

year. And you know how I made that change? I got tired --SO TIRED-- of worrying about

everything... about, "oh, no! how do you say this? Am I going to say it well? I'm probably going to

mess up. They're not going to understand me" Can you guys believe that I worried about all of that with a

very high level of fluency. Your level has nothing to do with your confidence. They are

two completely different things. Think about it, when I had a really high level of fluency, with a

really good accent and lots of vocabulary, I still

lacked confidence. And I could barely talk with people I didn't know, or sometimes

even with people I DID know. Confidence is something completely different. It has to do with

your mind and how you perceive yourself and what you think about your abilities.

So, knowing that, you're not going to have more confidence by getting more fluent. You have to start

being confident now with the level you have. Because you already learned a lot and you're

going to keep learning and you have to put your confidence in that, that you will continue

to improve. Anyhow, I could keep sharing a lot more, but now I'm going to switch back

to English to show you guys the presentation I did 6 years ago

guys so hopefully you enjoyed those tips that I shared and you know everything I

shared about the mistakes that I made I don't want you to make these mistakes

because I want you to be confident I want you to achieve fluency faster than

I did like I said it took me a long time to get to the level that I have today

but it's because I didn't surround myself with enough Spanish I didn't

speak Spanish even though I had a bunch of opportunities to practice and I just

lacked confidence okay and remember you can just choose to be confident where

you're at today and realize that you're going to get better now let's watch a

couple minutes of the presentation that I gave six years ago and you guys will

see that my Spanish was nothing like what it is today okay and after you see

that presentation then I'm going to explain some things that changed in my

Spanish and we're going to do a little analysis of that so let's watch part of

that presentation

Um... last year I went to Mexico with sister and my nephew Giovanni

who was 3 years old and he's my sister's son

and we went to visit my brother in law's family and my brother in law

because her husband was living in Mexico during that time

and when I was in Mexico I learned a lot about Mexican culture

and about the people who lived in the village where I was staying

um and the village was called San Pedro

And it's near um Morelia, an hour from Morelia in Michoacan, Mexico.

This is just a picture of the landscape. Uh it reminded me a lot of California

because it had a lot of... it has mountains and it has a lot of the same trees.

Here is another one. And this is the "milpa"

And the "milpa" is where the corn plants grow

In that village they had a lot of "milpa"

la "milpa" again

Ok, I put this photo in the presentation because when uhhh I entered Mexico

One of the first things I noticed was that the advertisements

weren't on billboards like we have here in the USA

the advertisements are painted on brick walls

and they are full of color and very eye-catching

and I thought it is interesting because if someone wants to change the advertisement

they have to paint it again and it would be a lot of work

okay guys I hope you enjoyed that clip as far as the little analysis I said we

would do on this video the number one thing that I see myself doing here is

I'm using lots of fillers that are fillers we use in English like I'll say

a few words in Spanish and then I'll go uhhhh or ummm okay those are all fillers that I use

in English but those are not fillers that native Spanish speakers use a

native Spanish speaker might say ehhh or ahhh or something like that okay so the fillers

in languages are different and if you want to sound more like a native speaker

use the fillers that we use in English the next thing I notice in this video is

my lack of fluency I just pretty much had a basic vocabulary

to make complex sentences I mean sometimes these sentences aren't even

complex but because I learned Spanish through traditional classes and because

I was only able to speak with whatever grammar they taught me if I wasn't at a

certain level yet then I didn't know how to say something right and so in the

video I'm constantly searching for words I'm constantly searching for terms I

struggle to make complete sentences without really thinking about what I'm

gonna say I'm translating in my head I even have a piece of paper in front of

me with vocabulary in case I forget it and at one point in the video I even

have to look at it to remember a word that I was gonna say and be able to use

it because I had not internalized the Spanish language yet and internalizing a

language happens after years of absorbing that language and using that

language okay which I as you know from this whole video I didn't really do any

of those very much okay so the last thing I want to talk about regarding how

my Spanish has changed from what it used to be in this video clip that you guys

just saw to what it is now it really has a lot to do with my intonation the way

that I speak the quality of the sounds that I make okay and the vocabulary

after being surrounded with one type of Spanish Argentine Spanish for so long I

really adopted the Argentine way of expressing ideas and speaking so now for

example if I want to say the word bus I used to say "autobus" because

that's what I was taught from the textbook but nobody in argentina says

that in argentina they say "colectivo" or if they're gonna say bus you know using

the slang term they'll say "bondi" I didn't learn any of those in a textbook

ever so that is one way that my Spanish has changed my vocabulary my

intonation patterns everything is very Argentine but that's because I focused

on learning that Spanish now here's the thing a lot of you might think oh well

you lived in Argentina for five years so of course you were able to get good at

Spanish of course you were able to improve your accent of course you were

able to learn the vocabulary but that's not the reason why I achieved all of

this I achieved it because I made it a point to work on my

accent I paid attention to the vocabulary that they were using I

incorporated it I remember the first few weeks I was in Argentina and I would

hear words and I would go oh my gosh you know that's not what I was taught that

my teacher taught me something else and then I was confronted with a decision am

I gonna keep using the Spanish that my teacher taught me or am I going to adopt

the way that they say you know this word in this country and so I decided to let

go of everything that I was taught in my classes and to simply absorb the

language the way that it's spoken by the people that are from there now lots of

people live in foreign countries and they never acquire the accent they never

change the vocabulary they use they keep using the textbook vocabulary that

they learned even though they hear that other people don't speak like that

okay so there's a bunch of people that live in the United States and have lived

here for 20 years 50 years and they still don't speak English or they don't

speak it fluently or they have a heavy accent what you achieve really is up to

you it's what are your goals what are you trying to achieve

and how much do you work at it when I first got to Argentina and I didn't have

the accent that I have today I worked for this you know I really listened and

I would practice and it was so frustrating but I did not give up and

that's why I got to where I am today most people when it comes to

pronunciation they just give up okay one because it pushes you out of your

comfort zone and two because it's hard and you have to make sounds with your

mouth and with your tongue and your lips that you've never made in your entire

life it's hard okay so if you give up or if you just don't care about it you're

not going to get to that really high level that's just the truth okay so this

video is already long enough that's all I have time to share with you guys today

but if you want a guide on practicing your English with native speakers

because this is you guys like the one thing that's really really going to help

you practice your pronunciation pick up vocabulary from native English speakers

build your confidence if you want a guide on how to do this I have one on my

website and I'm gonna link it below okay in the description so check it out it

is the most popular guide on my entire website it's absolutely free for you to

download and it's going to give you lots of tips on how to meet native English

speakers using the Internet okay ways that I recommend ways that I don't

recommend how to get people to actually talk with you because people will talk

with you but you just you know you have to be strategic you can't just say hey

will you practice your English with me okay there are better ways to do this so

there's a whole guide on my website about how to do this if you want it it's

in the description and that's it you guys I'll see you in another video

thanks for watching bye

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE KETCHUP - Just like Heinz - Duration: 3:55.

A big big welcome to Steve's kitchen, a big THANK YOU to Mike and Vee for

reminding me, Mike's been making our ketchup, Steve's kitchen ketchup that I made on

the channel a long time ago and I feel like I should update it. Not that I'm

going to change it, I still think it's one of the best Ketcups you can make but I

think it just needs tidying up a little bit. Now one of the most famous Ketcups

in the world, Heinz tomato ketchup, they cleaned up their act a little bit, they

used to have a lot of corn sugars and all sorts of preservatives in there. I

think some versions still do have. A lot of ketchup come with all sorts of

unnecessary artificial additives and flavorings and we make this, this one

costs around about I think four or five Australian dollars in the shops, we can

make this properly for under a dollar, with virtually no preservatives and it

tastes just delicious. So I'm going to show you that right now.

Tomato paste, now why am I using tomato paste? Well you could do your own

tomatoes, boil and boil and boil them down until you get a rich thick

concentrate, takes a lot of time. These tomato pastes, even the home brand, are

just pure tomato that's been boiled down. There's no additives in there so it's a

really good shortcut to get an intense tomato flavor. I could go for a good

brand like this, I do find that the home brand, supermarket brands of paste work

perfectly well. So what I'm going to do is start off by cracking one of these open.

Now this is about a hundred and seventy grams which is about six ounces of a

concentrated tomato paste. Now let's see if we can get all of that in the bowl in

one hit, don't worry if we leave a little bit in the can, we'll work on that in a

moment. Take half a teaspoon of onion powder and half a cup of nice hot water

from the kettle and that'll just help rehydrate that onion powder. We're adding

two tablespoons of soft brown sugar, quarter of a teaspoon of cinnamon. I've

got a small pinch of allspice and a little pinch of clove in together.

Quarter of a teaspoon of Keen mustard powder or any mustard powder if you like.

Quarter of teaspoon of salt. Now why have I mixed it in a separate

little jug, well no particular reason except I'm going to try and use the liquid

in here to rinse out the rest of the little tin and that's just to get the

last of that tomato paste out. Now the rest of this can just go straight in

with the tomato paste, lastly I want to add three tablespoons of white wine

vinegar. Tomato ketchup really does need that sweet and vinegary element. So how

is that looking. I'm just going to get a whisk in there and if we start to blend

this together ,you'll see after a very short time you are going to get a smell

off of here that will remind you exactly of a beautiful tomato ketchup. It starts

to thicken through like that and you're going to have a ketchup here that rivals

anything you can buy in the shops. Oh it's so delicious and the beauty with

this sauce is it gets a little better over the first two or three days, so let

it mature a little, if you like put it back into a container like this and

you're ready to go. Trust me this is a super, super way of saving money or if

you're on a budget at all making a ketchup that has a very few

preservatives or any artificial preservatives that is and one that

tastes really great. So thank you again Mike and Vee for reminding me to remake

this video for you all out there, I hope you enjoy it.

Be good and check out the mayonnaises and I'll probably actually do the salad

cream again very shortly, so check them out. Be good, I'll see you next time, take

care.
