If you were just dropped in this place with no prior knowledge, where would you guess

you were? Maybe Florida or California o r Hawaii—somewhere tropical but this is definitely

the US. It just looks like the US. From the style of signs to the way the roads look to

the stores that line the streets, you can tell it's the US but it's not Florida,

it's not California, it's not Hawaii, it's not even on this side of the world.

It's America's most isolated territory. It's Guam.

The United States has five inhabited territories—the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, American Samoa,

the Northern Mariana Islands, and Guam itself. Guam is the furthest of these five from the

continental US—nearly 8,000 miles away from Washington, DC—making it the most isolated.

Beijing, Delhi, Cape Town, and Buenos Aires are all closer to DC than Guam is and yet

the island is a fully fledged territory of the US. It is the US. Guam has been inhabited

for thousands of years by the native Chamorro people until the 1500s when it was first claimed

as a territory by Spain. Centuries later, after the US' victory in the Spanish-American

war, the territory was ceded to the United States along with Puerto Rico and the Philippines.

Aside from a brief and brutal Japanese occupation during World War Two, the island has remained

part of the US ever since. Many Americans had never even heard of Guam until summer

2017. That was when North Korean leader Kim Jong-un threatened to launch a ballistic missile

at Guam. The threats may have since subsided, but the effects of that summer have not.

The island stretches less than 30 miles from top to bottom which makes it smaller than

every other US state and territory and yet it packs more than 160,000 people into that

small size. In fact, it's more densely populated than all but five US states or territories.

Meanwhile, it is by far the most developed place in Micronesia. To put it in perspective,

Guam's neighboring islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, which are also part of the

US, have a GDP per capita of $16,800 while Guam's is more than $35,000. Kiribati, meanwhile,

the most populous county in Micronesia, has a GDP per capita of $1,500. Guam is an outpost

of the modern, developed world in one of the poorest regions of the world. Its location

though, is its greatest asset. It's economy exists because of where it is.

The island is three hours from Tokyo, four hours from Seoul, and five hours from Hong

Kong. It's close to Asia but it is still the US—unequivocally. You see American license

plates, American school buses, American-style ambulances, they have US post offices, they

use the US dollar, they have American stores, American hotels, US National Parks, US airlines.

There is no compromise on the American-ness of Guam because it is the US. They fly the

US flag and for tourists, this is a draw. Instead of flying seven hours to Hawaii or

ten hours to California, Japanese tourists can and do just fly three hours to Guam in

order to visit the US. The malls, which look identical to any in Virginia or Kansas or

anywhere else in the US, are hugely popular with Asian tourists as they can buy American

goods for a fraction of what they would cost in Asia. About 1.5 million people visit the

island of 160 thousand each year, but what's not good for tourism is missile threats. "Last

summer when they were playing 'who's missile's bigger' we were the ones who suffered, you

know, our tourism took a huge nosedive that month of August. We never saw so many news

agencies coming to Guam from countries that didn't even realize we existed because all

of a sudden Kim Jung Un was threatening the American territory in the Pacific." (17:39)

This is Benjamin Cruz, speaker of the Guam Legislature. As he said, the island's economy

suffered immensely from the North Korean missile threat. Many visitors of Guam come as parts

of school groups or corporate retreats and these groups in particular almost universally

cancelled their trips. "We lost, I mean, almost all of Japan stopped coming. I mean,

everybody was afraid to come, the only ones that were coming were the news media." (28:00)

Fortunately, the effects were partially mitigated by an increase in visitors from South Korea

who were less worried about missile threats since its a reality they live every day back

home, but for an island so centered around tourism, being dragged into politics is never

good. Despite being part of the US, though, Guam

functions politically differently from every other part of the US. Benjamin Cruz, along

with the 14 other senators, are the lawmakers of Guam. They can legislate just like any

state legislature, but the main political difference for Guam is at the federal level.

All the US federal laws, the ones made in Washington for the whole country, all those

laws apply in Guam. What Guam doesn't get though, is a vote. Their congressional representatives

don't get a vote so by extension, the people of Guam can't vote on the laws that apply

to them. In addition, unlike Washington, DC, which also does't receive a vote in Congress,

Guam, along with the other US territories, is not able to vote for their president—the

US president. This presents an issue not only because of the lapse in democracy, but also

because many US laws that may make sense for the continental United States just don't

for a territory on the other side of the world. "We'd like to be able to invite people

to the island and industries and not have to worry about whether the SEC would approve

it or the FCC would approve it. We'd like to be able to have control over our skies

so we can invite airlines to fly in without having to clear with FAA on whether or not

this airline or that airline can or cannot fly." (13:10) The process for a foreign

airline of gaining approval to fly to the US is often long and laborious and there are

a number of special security and immigration rules for flights to the US. This isn't

a problem for large, intercontinental airlines or Mexican or Canadian ones for whom flights

to the US represent a large part of their market, but for small regional Asian carriers,

they might pass on flights to Guam just to avoid having to gain FAA approval.

Another issue for Guam is the Jones Act. This law prevents foreign built, owned, or operated

ships from carrying cargo or passengers between US ports. This may make sense within the continental

United States. Just as you wouldn't want a foreign airline flying domestic cargo routes

you wouldn't want a foreign shipping company taking over cargo routes like Houston to Charleston

or Seattle to Oakland but Guam is a different story. Cargo ships generally make many stops

along their routes so it would be perfectly normal for a Taiwanese ship, for example,

to go from Oakland to Hawaii to Guam to Osaka to Taipei but it can't because then it'd

be transporting goods between US ports. Instead, only US ships can bring goods from the US,

where most of Guam's goods come from, to Guam. Other US territories like American Samoa

and the Northern Mariana Islands are exempt from this rule but Guam is still subject to

it which makes shipping to the island more expensive.

Despite the issues the US federal government may cause, the people of Guam are in no hurry

to distance themselves from it. "I think if you were to ask a majority of the people

on the island they would like to have a closer union with the United States and some may

even want statehood. In fact, a majority of them would like to see statehood." (5:00)

In many ways, Guam is one of the most patriotic areas in the US. The US military freed Guam

from a brutal and deadly Japanese occupation during World War Two which many of the older

residents still remember. The younger residents, meanwhile, quite often work for the US. "Just

about every family on this island, I'm sure almost every family on this island had at

least one member of their family serve in the military." (11:40) One out of eight

residents of Guam serve or have served in the US armed forces. It has a higher enlistment

rate than any US state but this is helped by the fact that a quarter of the island is

US military bases. The island is one of the US military's most strategic assets. Of

course the US has plenty of bases in Japan and South Korea but Guam is US soil less than

four hours away from North Korea, the East China Sea, and the South China Sea—all possible

flash-points for US conflict. The US military is the single largest employer on Guam and

its economy depends on the military. While tourism may have suffered recently, the military

business is good. The number of military personnel stationed on Guam is slated to more than double

in the coming decade which will no doubt stimulate the economy. This doesn't come without concern,

Guam only has so much land, but all factors considered, Guam is on the rise.

Guam is truly a unique place. Plenty of countries have territories far away from their mainland

but few are as developed and as similar to the rest of the country as Guam. If Guam was

just off the coast of the US mainland it would be totally unremarkable—just another piece

of the US that looks and acts like the rest of the US—but it's not. It's on the

other side of the world. Guam is a relic of colonialism but today it's a thriving, developed

place. It may not get treated like the US even by its own government, but in all other

ways, Guam is the United States. One aspect of Guam's story that this video

didn't cover is how they're trying to grow their local, small businesses in order

to make the economy more self-sustaining. Squarespace also helps with this. They help

small businesses make what was previously only available for huge companies—a great,

beautifully designed, professional-looking website. Small businesses aren't necessary

physical stores. Whatever you do, whether it be photography, podcasting, youtubing,

anything you hope to make money from is a business and so you need to make sure people

can find you. If you're anything like me, the first place you go to find something is

the internet so it's absolutely crucial to have a great looking website since that's

your first impression. With their beautiful designer templates, customizable website builder,

fantastic 24/7 customer support, and reasonable prices, Squarespace is absolutely the best

place to build your web presence. Best of all, you can try out Squarespace for free

by going to squarespace.com/Wendover and then, when you're ready to launch, you can get

10% off only by using the code "wendover" at checkout. Squarespace is a great supporter

of the show and makes ambitious videos like this, which was filmed on location in Guam,

possible so please do at least check them out at squarespace.com/Wendover. Also, for

those of you still here, I want to mention that there's a behind-the-scenes video on

my personal channel of Brian from Real Engineering, Joseph from Real Life Lore, and myself filming

this video on location in Guam. Thanks for watching and we'll see you again in three

weeks for another Wendover Productions video.

An Evening Under the Stars - Duration: 9:36.

good evening everyone and welcome to Shenandoah University An evening under

the stars which they've done incredible job thank you all for joining us tonight

one of the university's most historic evenings this is the largest University

event we've had in some time I don't think those of us who live here realize how

cosmopolitan how big Shenandoah is this year there are students on campus from

all from 47 of the 50 states from 67 foreign countries

we're not Winchester's University we're the world's University it is growing

tremendously

my father struggled to keep it open Jim built the foundation and this young

lady is completing the package and she's doing a wonderful job so proud of you from the Board of

Trustees the students and the faculty of Shenandoah University this is the plaque

that will hang in the front lobby as people arrive in this building it says

with appreciation to James R Wilkins jr. it's no wonder that the students as

shorthand instead of calling this the Wilkins athletic and Events Center they

simply have taken to calling this building "the Jimmy" thank you we are truly blessed in

Virginia to have such great colleges and universities and Shenandoah University

is leading the way and just bringing skills to jobs for workforce development

around the Commonwealth and doing it with affordability and I know thanks to

the generosity of you a lot of you in this room tonight and the scholarships

actually have the lowest load of debt coming out of Shenandoah university in

the Commonwealth of Virginia Shenandoah means daughter of the stars

and we say that our mission here is to educate the sons and daughters of the

Stars and then launch them far and wide to have impact this is tonight this

event space is the largest event space in the northern Shenandoah Valley it is

an Athletic Center it is an event center and we welcome you

we have amazing students here and we have a lot of students who couldn't

afford to be here if it weren't for you I'm not talking about students who need

a little bit more we have a great number of those but we have students who

are here because both they have a lot of scholarships and they are working the

nighttime shift from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. in order to make ends meet we have

students who they are not only the only the first people in their family to

go to college we have some students here that their families didn't graduate from

high school their parents and they have found their way to college and let me

tell you they're doing great things people in our situations we have a

choice and that choice is do we go to school and incur a lot of debt or do we

go to school with the support of people like you and I'm so thankful for all of

you here tonight to put us in a position where we can go to school with minimum

debt because of your support and your support is creating future leaders it's

creating Future teachers future nurses and you are really a pivotal piece in

providing for our next generation so thank you for some of the students who

are here we come from backgrounds where it may not be completely affordable to

us so thank you for all your help in all the contributions that you make to help

situations like this to be possible for us to enjoy beautiful Shenandoah and

beautiful Winchester Virginia without the support of every single one of you

in this room whether it's a dollar a thousand dollars or more like you saw I

couldn't be here without you from the bottom of my toes because my heart just

really isn't enough thank you for students like myself who are pursuing

education beyond undergraduate having your scholarships during our

undergraduate years is so incredibly helpful the kind of debt that doctors that vet

veterinarians that lawyers incur these are the future of these fields that are

coming in right now and so to have your support now is amazing so thank you so

much we're going to do a very quick appeal silent appeal and you're going to

see the money come up here as you give it but I am hoping that tonight we are

able to do what I don't think we've ever done in the northern Shenandoah Valley

in ten minutes and that's exceed and actually surpass a goal of do I dare say

$1 million dollars let's show that the northern Shenandoah Valley can raise a lot of money

For an important cause and I can't think of a better cause and that's why I'm in

higher education than student scholarships so on your mark get set go

watch that screen now it's going okay what are we up to now? You guys can do better than that. We're coming up! Keep it coming!

Any higher? Any higher? Keep going.

all right this is why I have the best job in the world it's because of these

students and so many like them and it's because of the support of people like

you that we have been able to grow every year you hear about how challenged

higher education is we are growing every year we are keeping tuition increases

under two percent we have a music theater program ranked in the top ten in

the country our conservatory is the number one School of Music in Virginia

our Physician Assistant Program is the number 16 in the country and US News and

World Report ranked the national universities in the country

and there are six of them in the top tier in Virginia

UVA William and Mary Virginia Tech George Mason VCU five public

universities in the top tier national universities in the country according US

News and World Report and the other one is Shenandoah University

this is what's most important these young people who will lead us forward so

from the bottom of my heart from the bottom of their hearts and toes thank

Face 2 Face: Alisson and Juan Jesus interview each other! - Duration: 8:31.

- Hi, how's it going? - All good, thanks.

So we're here to answer some of these questions. You go first.

When was the last time you cried?

I was watching a cartoon with my little boy

and I saw this scene, I had him in my arms, I got a bit emotional

and I cried.

Who is the best Brazilian player of all time in your position?

Taffarel, for sure.

He has to say that or he won't get called up again!

He was the greatest, also because of what he achieved with the national team.

Who is the biggest dressing-room joker?

No, not me!

There are loads: Radja, for a start.

Radja, then there's Florenzi, who's perhaps the loudest.

He comes in and starts shouting all over the place.

De Rossi too. He's a bit older but he still likes to have a joke.

Then there's Manolas…

I reckon he's the worst of the lot.

He loves to joke around.

They're all good lads, though.

What do you think of people who take photos

of their team-mates while they're asleep?

- Who would do that? - Dunno, never seen it myself.

He's the one who does stuff like that.

It's just a bit of fun.

The moment the plane takes off, they zonk out.

Who's the toughest opponent you've ever faced?

Cavani.

He's so good and he harries you constantly.

He gets in defenders' faces.

And he's so clinical.

Icardi too. I've played against him the last two seasons

but I trained with him loads of times.

They're both really tough customers.

Who is the most technically gifted player at Roma?

I think technically speaking it has to be Stephan El Shaarawy.

He's amazing with the ball at his feet.

De Rossi has great technique too.

Yes but when it comes to beating your man,

for pure technique it has to be Stephan.

What's the best place you've ever been on holiday?

I think Punta Cana in the Caribbean is one of the most beautiful.

The water is so warm and the sand is like salt, it's that white.

Who is the most competitive player in training?

That's an easy one!

The most competitive? Kevin. 100%!

If the ball goes out by half a centimetre,

he's like "Oh, it's out!" "That's a foul!"

Which three famous people would you choose,

even if they're not alive anymore, to invite to dinner at your house?

Men and women?

No, no women!

Why not? Of course I can!

Barack Obama.

Your brother…

Who else?

He doesn't know anyone.

I do!

Simone from Simone & Simaria.

She's very nice and she's always joking.

She's a Brazilian singer.

And the last place at the table would be for Michael Jackson.

So there would be singing!

That would be a great dinner!

Do you have a team-mate who snores like a bear?

In my opinion…

In our opinion…

In everyone's opinion…

it's Bruno Peres.

He's very...

Gerson says the minute he falls asleep he starts snoring.

But it's not just Bruno - this one does too.

- I don't. - You do!

I've never heard it.

Only cos you're asleep!

Who cooks the best churrasco at Roma?

That's not hard!

He's the only one who does it.

He's really good at it.

Churrasco is a speciality where he's from.

And he's learnt really well.

- And you're really good at eating! - What do you expect?!

What was the best Christmas present you got when you were a kid?

When I was a kid, I really wanted a Playstation 2.

My dad said ok but it was really expensive back then

so it was a present for Christmas, Easter, my birthday and the next Christmas!

For the next five years!

Who puts the music on in the dressing room?

And what do you think of his taste?

It used to be Diego,

then Radja every now and then.

Now it's always Alisson.

I do sometimes but it's mostly this guy.

He chooses things everyone likes, though.

At the moment there's a lot of reggaeton, right?

Everyone likes the music.

It gets us in the mood.

We always have music.

Who was better, Rivaldo or Ronaldinho?

Ronaldinho Gaucho…

Or Rivaldo.

Personally, I prefer Ronaldinho.

Nah. I like Rivaldo.

Ronaldinho was a great player too.

Excuse me, but the question was for me, wasn't it?

I think Ronaldinho...

was more artistic, joyful.

- Typically Brazilian. - Smooth.

I really like him as a player.

But Rivaldo was great too.

They were different.

Rivaldo was more technique, Ronaldinho flair.

Ok, that's it. It's time to say goodbye.

Ciao!

Thanks and goodbye!

What Are TSA Agents Looking For? - Tips for easier Travel - Duration: 5:07.

Back in the golden years of air-travel, flying was a glamorous mode of transportation reserved

for well-heeled holiday makers and international business jet-setters.

A trip to the airport was a holiday in itself.

Nowadays, as the cost of flying has dropped considerably and security levels have mutated

beyond imagination, we find ourselves passing through what amounts to a tactical cold war

zone rather than a simple transit hub.

Everyone is a potential suspect and everyone is in danger – or so they like to have us

think.

But just who are these agents luring around and pulling god-fearing American folks aside,

and what exactly do they want?

That's what we'll find out, in today's episode of The Infographics Show – What

are the TSA Agents looking for at airports?

So, first up, just what is and who are the TSA?

Well, the Transportation Security Administration is an agency of the US Department of Homeland

security that has authority over the traveling public within the United States borders.

The agency was created following the aftermath of 9/11.

The first administrator, John Magaw, was nominated by President Bush on the 10th December, 2001.

Agency proponents such as Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta argued that only a single federal

agency would be in a position to protect air travel.

From February to December 2002, 1.7 million applicants for 55,000 TSA positions were processed.

Prior to the formation of the TSA, private security firms managed air travel security.

The TSA uses a combination of well-ironed techniques using trained technicians who are

skilled in communications, customer service, and document fraud.

They use a range of equipment including metal detectors, scanners, CCTV, X-Ray machines,

and chemical sensory devices.

To make sure you get from point A to point B without any major delay, you should avoid

drawing attention to yourself while in transit.

But what exactly is TSA actually looking for?

Guns.

Never talk about weapons.

Even a friendly joke overheard by an officer could have you pulled to one side and thoroughly

searched.

If you like to jibber jabber about guns or gun laws, then an airport is not the place

to do it.

Even browsing through a copy of popular US publication Guns and Ammo may alert suspicion.

Coffee.

Avoid taking coffee with you as a souvenir.

Coffee beans are routinely used by drug smugglers to overpower the smell of the illegal drugs

they have stashed alongside it.

So if you've been on vacation to Costa Rica and you're looking to bring back a jar of

Monte Crisol, consider mailing it back to yourself rather than slipping it in your carry-on

luggage.

Large amounts of cash.

This is a red flag for the TSA.

It's always a smart move to take only what you need for transit through airports.

With technology as it is nowadays, you should never be too far away from an ATM machine.

The folks who carry large wads of cash could well be connected with shady commerce, and

the TSA are alert to those types.

Medicines without prescription.

Laws on drugs and medicine differ from State to State so to avoid any confusion, make sure

all medicines are accompanied by an RX prescription.

Also make sure that your prescriptions at your point of departure are legal at your

destination.

Stressed passengers.

Don't let your stress levels show.

We know it's difficult when you've missed that connecting flight and the next one is

in seven hours, but try not to let your anger show.

Agents are trained to pick up on suspect behavior and that includes edgy and stressed looking

passengers muttering obscenities under their breath.

Line jumpers.

In a hurry?

Well, wait your turn.

Cutting the line at the airport is not only impolite, it may also result in you being

singled out as a potential security threat.

And if you appear angry while cutting the line, you will be doubly suspicious.

Unusual items in luggage.

If you've seen our other video on airport security, then you'll remember that some

of the most unusual items found by the TSA include a cannonball, live snakes, human skull

fragments, and a samurai sword.

If you can live without items such as these during your travels, consider leaving them

at home.

Unchecked baggage.

Especially kids baggage.

Yes, that's right, those agents might be under the impression that you're using your

nearest and dearest to smuggle drugs from state to state, or worse, hide a bomb.

Liquids in carry-on.

Trying to get away with smuggling an extra bottle of shampoo or can of coke?

Well think again, as TSA officers have this paranoia about liquids after a plot to blow

up a 2006 transatlantic flight using liquids was allegedly foiled.

No such plot has been attempted since.

In the event that you are pulled aside and patted down by the TSA, you should remain

quiet.

Never make crude jokes about being touched by the security agent, as they will consider

it sexual harassment and that could lead to more screening.

Don't pet their dogs, and under no circumstances offer the agent a bride to let you pass.

These people are not allowed to have a sense of humor.

Be calm, polite, and considerate, and your travel plans should continue to run smoothly.

So, do you think airport security has gone too far, and do you think better safe than

sorry?

Goalie Training Pro TV Ep 23 - Don't You DARE Try This - Duration: 11:07.

Not the effect I was going for...

Hey gang! Welcome to Goalie Training Pro TV episode 23. The show was on

hiatus for the last couple weeks because Maria was in an airplane but we're back

and Sarah can't come with me in the airplane and film these so we're on

hiatus. We're back now there may be a few hiatus-i.

Is that the plural of hiatus?

Hiatuses-es? Because it's off-season and things are just... my mom asked me like

write down all the times you're away on my calendar and it was like........

like oh that's quite a bit but we're gonna keep trooping through.

Today's episode is called - Don't You DARE Try This

I'm going to say that serious because I don't think it was serious enough

Don't You DARE Try This

and this is build strength on a dysfunction so I spend a lot of time in

the gym just playing with plates and like building blocks but today I'm going

to use them to show you a little example of what happens when you do that so

let's say this is you and you are strong and you're just a strong beautiful

goalie and a strong beautiful human being and then you let's say if you

tweak your groin. So that's a little bit funky you're still a beautiful person but you got a little

funk going on and you don't have time to get it looked after because it happened

in the season and then you had games that you didn't want the coach to know

that you had a sore groin because they'd play the other guy what if the

other guy was awesome and then he got to play all the games and then you

didn't get to play the games so you know how it goes

So you took it easy a bit. You kind of lighten things up. You know you didn't go

to nuts, actually wasn't feeling too bad it was kind of getting better and better

you're back almost doing all so you're regular stuff.

Oh I didn't want it fall over yet!

It's America's most isolated territory. It's Guam.

The United States has five inhabited territories—the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, American Samoa,

the Northern Mariana Islands, and Guam itself. Guam is the furthest of these five from the

war, the territory was ceded to the United States along with Puerto Rico and the Philippines.

Guam is an outpost

ten hours to California, Japanese tourists can and do just fly three hours to Guam in

order to visit the US.

Celebs Who Can't Stand Meghan Markle - Duration: 5:11.

The moment the world learned that Prince Harry, who is fifth in line to the British throne,

and Meghan Markle, one of the stars of Suits, were dating, the actress was met with a slew

of support — and also criticism.

After the pair announced their engagement in November 2017, Markle immediately faced

more hate and negativity than ever before.

Here are some famous folks who simply can't stand her.

Wendy Williams

Talk show host Wendy Williams is clearly not a fan of Meghan Markle.

In December 2017, the brash, outspoken host told her audience that she thinks Markle is

"[...] a bit of a wild card, you know, because she goes from being the Deal or No Deal girl.

So this is a girl looking for game."

A few months later, in February 2018, the topic of Markle came up again while Williams

was interviewing 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord.

After asking the actress about Markle's small cameo on the 90210 reboot, she couldn't resist

throwing more shade …

"She applied for a job here too."

"Did she?!"

"Yeah yeah yeah!"

"There you go!"

"A random princess."

It seems that Williams' dislike runs deep.

Back in November 2016, when it was first revealed that Markle was dating Prince Harry, the host

predicted a breakup, saying,

"There's way too much drama with her and this will not work out.

It's not her.

It's gonna be the family.

The family's gonna mess it up."

Williams doesn't just focus her royal jealousy on Markle, however.

'By the way Kate, what is going on with your fried ends?"

"She looks like she has about 20 packs of weave in her head, doesn't she?"

Stay classy.

Piers Morgan

British TV personality Piers Morgan is known for making headlines, and he did just that

when he accused Markle of ghosting him.

According to his side of the story, which he shared during a February 2018 episode of

ITV's Loose Women, he was actually friends with Markle before she ever met her royal

beau.

The two met via Twitter and admitted they were fans of each other.

Some email exchanges apparently followed and the pair eventually met at Wimbledon.

Morgan says the two of them had a drink and were, quote, "great buddies" for about 90

minutes.

Unfortunately, the friendship was short-lived.

"Next thing I know, silence.

Off the radar."

Fast forward to March 2018, and Morgan was talking about Markle yet again, this time

on Good Morning Britain, as he criticized the couple's choice to have an organic lemon

and elderflower cake on their big day instead of following royal tradition with a fruit

cake, saying,

"Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are creating scandal and sensation by going their own way.

To me, when you get married, you don't muck around.

You stick to tradition and have a fruit cake."

Katie Hopkins

No one has been quite as scathing in their commentary of Meghan Markle as British media

personality Katie Hopkins.

In November 2016, the reality TV star turned MailOnline reporter penned an entire article

in which she unapologetically went after the young actress, calling Prince Harry's then-girlfriend

"shy-and-retiring, Instagram-addicted Meghan."

Dubbing her an "American Kate Middleton," she quipped,

"Given she used to work as a 'freelance calligrapher' (which basically means she can write with

a pen) her fortunes have taken off faster than [British astronaut] Tim Peake on his

way to the International Space Station."

She then went on to rip apart the prince's official request for the media to respect

Markle's privacy, writing,

"If you don't want Miss Sparkle trolled on social media, advise her to stay away from

posting pictures of bananas spooning on her Instagram account.

If Meghan — a woman who acts, and does PR for a living — doesn't understand that then,

dare I suggest, maybe she isn't suitable girlfriend material, let alone a potential bride?"

The cattiness sure hasn't cooled off over the years, as in February 2018 Hopkins took

to Twitter to call her "a budget Princess Di with an Oscar winning innocent face."

Chrissie Swan

She may not be a household name in North America, but Australian TV personality and author Chrissie

Swan has been one of Markle's harshest critics.

Taking to Facebook to express her disapproval of the bride-to-be, Swan confessed,

"For some reason, I still haven't warmed to her.

It's her manner.

She looks like she's performing.

To me she looks like she's portraying a concocted humility.

Acting."

Her ex-husband

A book from royal biographer Andrew Morton, who penned Princess Diana's biography in 1992,

is making waves with allegations that Meghan Markle was ruthless when it came to ending

her first marriage to Hollywood producer Trevor Engelson.

In Meghan, A Hollywood Princess, Morton writes that,

"Trevor went from cherishing Meghan to, as one friend observed, 'feeling like he was

a piece of something stuck to the bottom of her shoe.'"

It was 2013 and the couple had been married for two years when, all of a sudden, Markle,

who was living in Toronto at the time, filming Suits,

"sent her wedding and engagement rings back to Trevor by registered post," allegedly "out

of the blue."

According to the author, Engelson can, quote, "barely contain his anger," even after all

these years, and although he has yet to speak out publicly on the matter, he's producing

a brand new comedy show for Fox that sounds familiar.

The description reads,

"Divorce is hard.

Sharing custody is harder.

Sharing custody with the British Royal family when your wife marries a prince, in the unforgiving

spotlight of London's tabloid media, is next level."

Sounds like Engelson is prepared to air a whole lot of dirty laundry.

Liberals Freak As Rudy Giuliani Uses "C" Word Stormy Daniels Didn't Want To Hear. - Duration: 4:25.

Liberals Freak As Rudy Giuliani Uses "C" Word Stormy Daniels Didn't Want To Hear.

Liberals have another reason to freak out after former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani

used the "c" word that Stormy Daniels didn't want to hear.

You won't want to miss this.

The mainstream media is obsessed with adult film star Stormy Daniels, aka Stephanie Clifford,

and her outrageous claims of an affair with President Donald Trump.

Like so many other topics extensively covered by the fake news networks, the Stormy Daniels

story is almost dead, and to prove it, Rudy Giuliani appeared on ABC's "This Week"

with host George Stephanopoulos to put the nail in the coffin.

Stephanopoulos wasted no time in trying to make Giuliani look bad by bringing up Trump's

recent remarks on Giuliani's understanding of the Stormy Daniels story.

"The president said you didn't get the facts straight, so let's try to get some

facts on the table, to begin with.

The president does acknowledge meeting Stormy Daniels, correct?"

Stephanopoulos asked.

Giuliani wasn't bothered by the dig and simply told Stephanopoulos the facts.

"You know, I'm not really involved in the — in the Daniels thing.

So I don't — I don't know.

I mean, he denies that it happened.

She has written a letter denying it," Giuliani said, according to Daily Caller.

After Stephanopoulos brought up the picture of Trump and Daniels standing next to each

other, he tried badgering Giuliani into admitting that the two had met each other.

Giuliani is way better at this game than Stephanopoulos and showed it by saying, "Well, it looks

like my friend Donald Trump before he was president, but — and that looks like the

woman who was on Saturday Night Live last night."

Giuliani followed up his comment by putting into perspective the entire situation with

Daniels.

"Now, that's pretty, I think she kind of, god if I were her lawyer I'd be very

upset.

Fame and fortune, let me make money.

How is she damaged?

She's become rich as a result of this.

The $130,000 doesn't mean anything.

Boy, I wish that was my case," he said.

When Stephanopoulos asked if Trump denies any sexual relationship with Daniels, Giuliani

replied, "He has.

I have not, I'm not, as I said, I'm not involved in that.

But the reality is he denies it.

She denied it.

Then when — when it was opportunistic, right before the election, she came forward and

then, of course, the whole thing happened with Michael Cohen.

And it's history now because it wasn't a campaign anything that…

"

This when Stephanopoulos cut in and pressured Giuliani to say when it was that Trump first

learned that Daniels wanted money from him.

Giuliani didn't hold back.

"Don't know and doesn't matter to me.

What matters to me are two things.

There are two relevant legal things, which is what my job is.

Number one, it was not a campaign contribution because it would have been done anyway,"

he said.

"This is the kind of thing that I've settled for celebrities and famous people.

Every lawyer that does that kind of work has.

And number two, even if it was considered a campaign contribution, it was entirely reimbursed

out of personal funds, which I don't think we'll even get to, because the first one's

enough," Giuliani continued.

"Case closed, case closed for Donald Trump," he added.

It's about time that Trump hired someone like Giuliani to squash the idiotic banter

in the mainstream media.

In my opinion, there should be far more people coming to Trump's defense, especially in

his own party.

If Republicans weren't being led by RINO's such as Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Paul Ryan

(R-WI), then there would be more support for our President.

As Trump continues to be attacked by the left on a daily basis, it's crucial for American

patriots to continue supporting him and his agenda.

Remember, if liberals are permitted to bring Trump down, they won't stop there.

What You Need To Know Before You See Solo: A Star Wars Story - Duration: 5:15.

You can't keep a good scoundrel down.

Han Solo might have died in The Force Awakens, but the character lives on in film thanks

to the spinoff prequel Solo: A Star Wars Story, which features Alden Ehrenreich as the galaxy's

scruffiest nerf herder.

But with more than 40 years of Star Wars history to draw on, Solo's many references and easter

eggs could be daunting for fans both young and old.

Don't worry: we have you covered.

Here's what you need to know before you see Solo: A Star Wars Story.

When does Solo take place?

Going by the timeline established in the official tie-in novel Last Shot, the action in Solo

appears to take place somewhere between three and eight years before the events of A New

Hope.

So don't expect to see familiar faces like Leia and Luke, because at this point in his

young career, Han is a one-man operation.

That's going to change, though, as the film promises to show Han's meeting with his right-hand-Wookiee

Chewbacca, as well as the galaxy's smoothest frenemy, Lando Calrissian.

And that leads to the infamous game of cards that wins Han his one true love, the Millennium

Falcon, a game first mentioned way back in 1980's The Empire Strikes Back.

"What have you done to my ship?"

"YOUR ship?

Hey… remember you lost her to me, fair and square."

Who is the Game of Thrones lady playing?

Game of Thrones viewers know her best as Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons, but in Solo,

actress Emilia Clarke plays a very different yet equally badass lady in the form of Han's

sometimes partner-in-crime Qi'ra.

She may look glamorous, but Clarke assures fans she's just as devious as Solo himself.

She explained:

"If you have got a really glamorous lady in a really sordid environment, you kind of know

that maybe the glamour is hiding a few rough roads.

[…] The thing that that you see with Qi'ra is that she an enigma."

Who is L3-37?

In the grand Star Wars tradition, Solo will introduce a new droid to the Star Wars universe.

But some parts of Lando's partner L3-37 will look familiar to fans.

Literally: the droid is self-made, having constructed herself out of spare parts from

other droid models, including bits of BB and R2 units, and protocol droids like C-3PO.

And in the Last Shot novel, we learn that L3 is both a committed droids' rights activist

and deeply spiritual, saying in the book,

"Some guy in a factory probably pieced me together originally, and someone else programmed

me.

But then the galaxy itself forged me into who I am.

Because we learn.

[…] Maybe we're our own makers, no matter who put the parts together."

Who are the new rogues?

Though Solo has plenty of cameos and callbacks, most of the supporting characters are all

new to the Star Wars universe.

So you don't need to read or watch anything in order to appreciate Woody Harrelson's criminal

mentor Tobias Beckett, Thandie Newton's expert marksman Val, or Paul Bettany's crime boss

Dryden Vos.

Fans of the Star Wars comics from Dark Horse are in for a treat, though, as Jonathan Kasdan

and Toby Hefferman, Solo's co-writer and assistant director respectively, portray Imperial soldiers

Tag and Bink, bumbling officials who accidentally play a key role behind the scenes throughout

the original trilogy.

Classic.

Where's the fan service?

While the whole film could be considered fan service, there are more inside references

than just the inclusion of Tag and Bink.

For instance, part of Solo is set on the mud planet of Mimban, which was originally introduced

was back in the 1978 tie-in novel Splinter of the Mind's Eye, but it's never made it

into an actual movie until now.

And the tease of other Wookiees could signal the return of Chewie's family.

Though most fans would prefer to forget it, the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special introduced

Chewbacca's wife Malla and his son Lumpy.

Bringing them back would be the ultimate inside nod for hardcore Star Wars fans.

Who directed this thing, anyway?

Rumors of problems on-set plagued Solo right from the start.

To help smooth over production woes, Lucasfilm reportedly hired an acting coach for star

Alden Ehrenreich and brought in co-writer Lawrence Kasdan, who also co-wrote both Empire

Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, to lead script rewrites.

And when things still didn't get straightened out, Lucasfilm went with the nuclear option,

firing directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller right in the middle of shooting.

After a delay of several weeks, Ron Howard came aboard to finish filming and right the

ship.

Hey, it wouldn't be a true Han Solo adventure if everything went according to plan.

What's the bottom line?

Though Solo is obviously intended to fit into the greater Star Wars universe, fans don't

really have to worry about knowing every little bit of franchise trivia.

Because unlike the previous Star Wars films, Solo is designed to be a totally self-contained

one-shot film.

Sure, you'll get more out of it if you get some of the in-jokes, but there shouldn't

be any cliffhangers here, just a big, sprawling space adventure featuring one of the most

beloved characters in cinema.

That's not to say this is necessarily the end, though.

If Solo ends up being really popular, we might get more big-screen adventures starring young

Han.

That's because Alden Ehrenreich is apparently signed up for three movies.

So will the film prove popular enough to spawn a trilogy of its own?

If there's one thing we've learned over the years, it's never bet against Han Solo.

I know this is pretty hard to do but it's really going to help not just with the liver

detox but with your whole body health, kidneys included.

Do all these steps to give your liver a great way to fully recover during this cleanse.

Here we go, let's see the ingredients: Milk Thistle

Silymarin, the active ingredient of milk thistle, is approved in Europe to treat liver damage.

Several studies have shown silymarin benefits on patients with liver damage.

Milk thistle is a flowering herb related to the daisy and ragweed family.

It doesn't just help the liver repairing damages caused by alcohol, it is also useful to eliminate

the damage from environmental pollutants, prescription drugs and the buildup of heavy

metals.

During clinical trials, silymarin has been shown to strengthen the cell walls in the

liver.

Milk Thistle is easily one of the best herbal remedies supplement you'll ever find.

I've linked some trusted brands in description.

Turmeric Used as a medicinal herb and as a spice for

thousands of year in India, today its health benefits are backed by science.

Turmeric, thanks to its curcumin content, is one of the supplements with the greatest

number of benefits.

And not just for the liver.

Curcumin is a powerful antioxidant that can be used to treat liver and digestive problems.

It can also be useful with skin issues, arthritis, age related chronic diseases and heart disease.

It has shown various benefits against various types of cancer.

But most of all is a powerful antioxidant, really really useful for a liver cleanse.

Take turmeric capsules during the cleanse week.

Since different brands have different quantities of active ingredients, follow the directions

present on the label.

I've linked some trusted brands in description.

Peppermint This herb isn't just good for your breath.

It helps kick-starting your liver, stimulating and relaxing the bile ducts.

Peppermint also helps with high cholesterol.

It makes breaking down fats easier, making the life of your liver smoother.

It can aid digestion and help with gallbladder and kidney problems.

During the liver cleanse week, I suggest using Organic Peppermint sifted Leaves to make tea.

Since we're going to need to drink a lot of water to cleanse the liver, it is a good idea

to make this tea in the morning and sip it cold or room temperature during the whole

day.

Pour about 60 ounces of boiling water on 10 teaspoons of herb.

Let it cool down and drink it during the day.

You should also drink other 80 ounces of water during the day.

This is essential for the liver detox to work properly.

What to do next?

Since you have pushed out a lot of toxins, your body is going to be in a great shape

and you're going to feel great too.

Why not do a kidney cleanse, then?

You will be a step ahead, since you will not need the first week of detoxing.

Aung San Suu Kyi's Confrontation With U.N. Special Rapporteur Yanghee Lee | FRONTLINE - Duration: 2:02.

As tensions were rising that

summer, the United Nations'

special rapporteur on Myanmar

was given access to the country.

She had already spoken out about

the need to protect the

Rohingyas from persecution,

causing angry protests by

Buddhist nationalists.

(man speaking foreign language)

>> NARRATOR: In Rohingya

villages, she was forced to

travel with military and

government minders.

>> I talked to the villagers,

but they were very scared.

So many of them are scared to

speak with foreigners or outside

people because of fear of

retaliation, of reprisal.

>> NARRATOR: She met with Aung

San Suu Kyi and confronted her

with accounts of Rohingyas being

killed.

Until now, Yanghee Lee has not

spoken about what happened next.

>> She was becoming very, very

defensive and she was saying

that these were all made-up

stories.

UN is so one-sided, they're not

helping the situation.

I said, you know, that I need

more access and I would really

need your support in getting

access.

And she looked at me and she

said, "If you continue the

narrative of the UN, you know,

you might not get that access."

And I stopped and I thought, I

couldn't believe my ears and I

thought to myself she must be

kidding me.

>> NARRATOR: Yanghee Lee was

subsequently accused of bias by

the Myanmar government and

banned from the country.

>> It was a political decision

she made.

She is a politician, and the

general sentiment in Myanmar is

not favorable to the Rohingyas.

NEW HAIRCUT | Modern Undercut Side Part (Summer 2018) - Duration: 9:09.

What's up guys my name is Brock, you're watching The Modest Man. Today I'm going

to show you my awesome new fringe haircut.

Kidding. I can't do the forward

fringe thing I see a lot of guys that look awesome

with that fringe haircut I just can't pull it off. I don't know why anyway I'm

gonna show you my new haircut I just got this yesterday. Really love it so far I'm

going to show you how I style it. So it's about three and a half inches in the

front. Still pretty long at the back just took some of the weight out of it with

sheers and then it's kind of undercut on the sides. So I part it to the right and

you'll see that it kind of hangs over because it's much longer on the top

than it is on the sides.

Over here on the left side it's not like shaved all the way up to the part line.

The part line is not shaved in or anything but it's still

kind of an undercut and then there's just a little bit of length right

through here that kind of helps with my head shape because if this is too long

here in the corner it gives me these this kind of bulk

right here which is a bad shape but if it's way too short it grows out really

weird. It kind of get these sprouts so I think this is a really good haircut.

I'm excited to style it. So first things first we're going to use this heat tamer

spray to kind of wet my hair a little bit and then protect it from the heat of

the blow dryer. Smells good! So my hair is kind of damp. Kind of find the part line

with my fingers and I'm using this tiny little Conair blow dryer. I love the size

of it. I think it's technically a travel blow dryer but I just keep in my

bathroom. It's very light and easy to use but it puts out a lot of air for how

small it is.

All right and use a little bit of the Bloom on original. Give you a look here.

I think you can actually use this as a pre-styler or just your your main

product. I'm gonna use it here as a pre-styler, rub it in and then back to front,

root to tip and I usually just use my fingers. Once my hair gets a little

longer I might use a brush but on the fingers work pretty well.

Kinda, kind of in the right shape. So now I'll use the blow dryer to shape it

a little more. I keep it on warm and low for now.

Something that I saw Barron Cuadro of Effortless Gent do was, "So here's where the trick

comes in. When you're about 80 or 90 percent dry already, what you want to do

is switch your hands, put your blow dryer on the other hand and then start blow

drying your hair in the opposite direction of the part."

Just to give it some volume I usually don't have too much trouble with volume although

sometimes right here in the back it can be a little flat. So, I'm just gonna try

to blow it that way a little bit before I put it back in the direction that

I'm actually gonna part it.

And then you know the one area that I want to pay attention to a little bit is

this side here, so you know, it's too short to go back. So I kind of just

wanted to go forward and you'll notice that it's sort of cut with this fade and

like that little shape and it works really well if I just kind of, just kind of

push it forward a little bit and then with the crown and I'll give you a look

at the back in a second here. I just want to kind of follow the shape of my crown

so rather than just try to push my hair back over the crown I want to follow

that kind of swirl and one thing you can do is just put your hand on, on that

swirl just kind of twist it a little bit and that will help your hair just kind

of follow that natural swirl straight back.

Okay, so this is looking pretty close and this is the kind of haircut, you know, I

told my stylist, "You know I want this to look really good in like one week."

So it's kind of cut in that way where it's almost like a little too short right

here like a little too, too much of the line in the back but in about a week

it's gonna look perfect. So, now I'll just take a little bit of the clay

a much heavier, much harder product than the original. Taking a little bit of it and for

this I'm really gonna rub it in. Emulsify as they say in the industry and for this

I'm just kind of, just kind of dusting.

All right. Now, if you want this to look a neater you could take a comb,

I actually don't know if I have a comb.

Well this is embarrassing, I don't have a comb. You could take a comb and just kind of

run it very lightly over the top to get that nice kind of there's a nice comb

lines and I get it to sit kind of more even. I personally, I like the finger-styled look

but yeah if you want to look really neat you could use a comb.

The other thing is if you want to get that more like pomade kind of shiny look but

you don't want to use an actual pomade. After you use any sort of water-based

like wax or cream, you can wet set your hair. So you just spray it with

water after you style just like right now. Just spray with water and then not

touch it and it would kind of it would set with more of like a glossy shiny finish.

Alright, I'll give you a 360.

Alright then if you want to you can also, I'll just clean my hands, okay and then the last thing you

can do if you want you could put your blow dryer on cool and low and low and then you

can kind of glue it down. I usually really don't do this but I guess if you really

want your hair to be perfect all day you can go ahead and do it but just don't

put it on high heat put it on cool.

So that's it! That is my new haircut. This is the hairstyle that I'll be rocking for a

little while. Probably at least for the next couple months. I'm gonna let it grow out

a little bit I think this is a really good starting point to let it grow.

So if you have any questions about these products or the process, the hairstyle

let me know down in the comments and until next time - stay stylish!
