costing the U.S. 60 billion dollars per year!
Life expectancy keeps getting longer
and even though was a medical doctor, this should be an achievement...
the truth is healthy life expectancy starts declining after 65
and the problem is life after 65 is not planned.
When we look at elderly care
we have three big scenarios
we have the broken and overwhelmed care systems
we have the elderly,
47 million senior citizens in the U.S.
80% of them have at least one chronic disease
and 15 million of them are depressed
the third scenario are caregivers
34 million unpaid and untrained caregivers in the U.S.
20 million of them are depressed
and 13 million struggle financially because they're taking care for someone else.
In Geriatree our moonshot is to become elderly life orchestrators.
While providing care caregivers face a daily struggle
because they don't have the tools or the support they need to do their jobs.
They might reach for doctors
but a doctors appointment might take at least two or three months
they might go to the emergency room
emergency rooms are already crowded,
they're expensive,
and most of the cases is not needed
they might even google for answers
or ask neighbors and family members for support
none of this work!
A few months ago I founded Geriatree
we provide an artificial intelligence platform
that provides caregivers
with quick response and support
to any concerns or problems they might face.
The caregiver provides us with the problem and the medical background of the patient
in order for us to come with a quick assessment,
a diagnosis and a plan
which may vary
from writing a prescription all the way
to deploying emergency services to their home.
After the problem has been solved
we provide regular check-ins on our patients
in order to ensure that they stick to the plan
and that their life is running smoothly.
Currently we have many different companies,
trying to solve many different problems.
We have options all the way from ¨Uber¨ doctors
to text messaging doctors
we have home care companies
and insurance companies trying to pay for all of the different services that elderly need.
In Geriatree, we combine all of the current solutions into one unique product
that helps elderly have better life quality.
As of to now,
we are currently in an early adopters stage,
in the past 3 months we've gathered 30 different customers
and we're growing month by month.
We're leveraging ourselves through doctors
care systems
word-of-mouth
and trying different marketing strategies
to get our product
to as many people in need as we can.
