DIY Small / Portable / Convenient Workbench With Inverted Jigsaw [How To Make] - Duration: 10:25.
Hello, welcome to DIY Perspective.
In this video, I am going to show you how I made, this small, portable and very capable
workbench.
As I mostly work at home and don't have much space, I needed something very compact,
not very loud and as much as possible dust free.
Table saw was dismissed, because it's way too loud and needs bigger workbench.
I usually work with smaller wood pieces, so I think jigsaw table will do a trick.
Now more about the workbench.
It is designed to have as much space as possible inside, this way I can fit a 25-liter shop
vacuum and a jigsaw together, that they won't interfere with each other.
Also I can throw in most used tools, like clamps and a drill.
Then I can roll the table into a corridor with all main tools.
Plug in vacuum, lock all casters and start working.
This is sooo nice!
I can't even describe it, compared how I worked before.
With these power buttons, I easily can start and stop jigsaw without needing to bend to
turn it off.
This is not only very convenient, but also much safer.
This simple dust collection system prevents any dust to drop down onto a jigsaw and a
vacuum.
When I need to collect dust from the top, I can quickly disconnect hose, switch shop-vac
ON and vacuum a sawdust.
However, one of the most important features is this blade guide, which keeps blade perfectly
straight.
It makes cutting at 90 degree angle an easy job.
So without further ado, let's see how I made it!
I went to my garage and started cutting 28 x 70 millimeters wood boards to final size.
I bought 18 meters of those.
In hardware store, I cut them to rough size, leaving room for trimming to final and clean
cuts.
You can find plans with all the part dimensions for this workbench in description below.
I used circular saw, but this build can be done with a jigsaw too.
You just need to use blade, which is designed to get straight cuts and doesn't bend so
much and of course cut more slowly.
I started assembling the legs, by gluing two 84-centimeter boards together, which will
make one workbench leg.
Make sure to clamp it across the all board surface while glue are drying.
By gluing two wood boards, you will get very strong leg, which won't bend at all.
Also as wood boards usually are slightly curved, gluing will make it straighter, just make
sure you are gluing them on a flat surface.
After I had all 4 workbenches' legs glued, I started assembling the front of the bench.
I placed two legs on a ground and placed 70-centimeter boards.
I made sure all corners were square, and then drilled pilot holes for the 6 x 70 millimeter
screws.
Then I countersunk holes that wood screws would be flush with the surface, and threaded
all four screws, that they stick out just slightly.
This will make placing wood board in same spot very easy, as I will also use wood glue,
to make sure this workbench frame is super strong.
I put the board back in place and tighten the screws.
As this is the front frame of the workbench, top board should be inside, and the bottom
board outside.
I rotated the part, drilled pilot holes, countersunk them, slightly threaded screws, added wood
glue and finally tightened screws.
Using same method, I made the back frame of the workbench.
Now I placed all pieces how those supposed to be screwed in.
Workbench at this point is on one side.
I placed weights on top to hold pieces in place, and squared all corners.
I carefully drilled pilot holes for the screws in all corners, countersunk them, threaded
screws slightly, added a glue, and tightened the screws.
Same thing as before.
Then I placed weights on the frame to prevent any wood warping while glue are drying.
When glue on the frame complete dried up, I trimmed inside top part, clamped it in place,
and secured it with wood glue and screws.
And the frame of the workbench is done.
Next, I needed to cut top and bottom parts for the workbench from the 18 millimeters
thick plywood.
I done all cuts on Styrofoam boards with a circular saw.
I wish, I had added painters tape on the cut line to prevent chipping of a plywood.
Oh well, that side just will be facing down, not a huge problem.
Back at home, I placed bench top part on ground and marked where I place the frame.
This will help me, to drill holes exactly where I want for the benchtop screws.
It's good idea to use sacrificial wood part, this will prevent chipping of the plywood
in other side.
Then I flipped over the bench, placed top in the exact same spot using my markings,
drilled pilot holes into the frame, countersunk them and I drilled hole for the jigsaw blade.
On other side of the benchtop, I placed jigsaw, made sure it is square with the front of the
benchtop and marked around it.
Using a wider router base plate, which I made from two glued 4-millimeter thick squares
of Plexiglas, I routed slot for the jigsaw.
It should slide in nice and smooth.
I drilled four holes for the clamping mechanism for the jigsaw.
On other side of the benchtop I countersunk holes and sanded them, that wood pieces on
the bench could slide easily.
Back to the other side, I routed holes for the nuts, as I need that wooden blocks would
sit at an angle.
This will hold a jigsaw very firmly.
Then I tested the clamps and it holds jigsaw very well.
To keep everything nice and clean beneath table and to prevent a jigsaw from clogging
itself from dust, I will make simple dust collection system.
I drilled hole in a plywood board, that this drainage elbow would fit firmly, as it has
inner diameter as my shop vacuum hose's universal connector.
I marked and glued the bracket to the benchtop.
I additionally cut and glued small triangles, which will give more strength to the bracket.
To make the jigsaw blade guide, I cut 6 parts from the same wood boards as I made workbenches
frame.
On the bottom 10 centimeter part, I marked and drilled holes for the bolts.
And in other side of the part I drilled bigger hole for the threaded e-nuts.
One tip – first screw in a bolt and only then screw in an e-nut.
This will make sure that e-nut screws in straight into the wood.
Next, I drilled holes for those bolts into the benchtop.
It looks good, so now, I glued other two 10-centimeter parts on top.
I drilled holes into the piece, which will hold the end part of the blade guide, and
glued it on the longest part.
To make the blade guide, I marked where the bearings will be and drilled holes.
Make sure that a blade is not pressed too hard by bearings, and it can move freely.
Before routing, I assembled the guide to make sure everything is right in place.
I marked spots where I will need to route gaps for the bolts to go through.
I glued the work piece with double-sided tape and started routing by lowering bit lower
and lower until I routed through all part.
Now, I can screw everything in place, and finally glue the long part to the 3 stacked
blocks.
Doing by these steps, it allows you to place the guide perfectly in the center of the blade.
I placed workbench onto previously cut plywood sheet and marked where the frame is.
I left 2 centimeter gaps in both sides as I didn't wanted to cut another plywood part
and scrap this.
When I was done all the cutting, I placed workbench into the bottom part, then laid
it down and drilled 5 pilot holes.
I won't be placing anything super heavy, so this design and 5 screws in each side will
hold it more than enough.
Next, I sanded bottom legs, marked and drilled holes for the casters and screwed them in.
I used all four rotating and locking casters.
Now, I needed to make ON/OFF buttons, for the jigsaw's easy power control.
I started with cutting extension board for the button box.
I screwed it to the board, and drilled hole for the cables.
Then I placed the box where it will be, and drilled same size hole through the workbenches'
frame.
Then I screwed the extension board to the frame and button box to the extension board.
As I bought button box, which needs to be pressed and held down to work, I needed to
improvise.
I won't go in detail, but I additionally needed to use relay to make these buttons
work properly.
I placed it in the same box where I placed power socket and connected all wires.
If you think that this is quite complicated, yes a little bit, but the final result worth
the hassle.
On the other hand, to avoid this, you just need to buy right button box.
This is how it supposed to work.
I connect a jigsaw to power socket in the table, and the power cord from the button
box connects to the shop vacuum, which has function to turn on when you turn on a tool.
So when you press the green button, jigsaw and shop vacuum turns on, and by pressing
red, obviously turns off.
Everything works like I intended!
I sanded benchtop with 220 grit sandpaper and added few coats of hard varnish.
Finally, I secured wires and with double-sided tape glued some old inner tube from bike's
tire.
This will absorb vibrations from the benchtop.
Then, I screwed it to the frame, and also I changed jigsaw clamping, from wing nuts
to small star shaped knobs, as those are more convenient in this case.
And the build is finally done!
I am really glad how this turned out, this will make my life so much easier.
For now, I made only the workbench.
And in other video I will cover the accessories for it.
I will leave you with some shots of this build.

Republican Congressman Bought Multi-Million Dollar Yacht The Same Day He Voted For Tax Cuts - Duration: 3:05.
On November 16th, 2017, the U.S. House of Representatives passed their trillion plus
dollar tax cut package.
On that very same day, November 16th, 2017, republican representative Vern Buchanan from
the state of Florida bought a multi-million dollar yacht.
So here's what happened with Vern Buchanan that day.
He walks into the U.S. House of Representatives, he votes to give millionaires and billionaires
a tax cut, he leaves, he goes and buys a yacht that costs between $1 and $5 million, according
to financial disclosure forms.
Here's the reason he did that.
He knew what kind of gift he was giving to himself.
See, Vern Buchanan is worth about $80 million, so he stood to gain $3 million from the tax
cut package that he just voted to pass.
He took that money that he was going to save, and he bought himself a yacht.
Now, I ask you, average American citizen, this tax cut was sold to the American public
under the guise that it was going to trickle down to the American workers, right?
This was our tax cut, according to Paul Ryan, and Donald Trump, and Mitch McConnell, and
everybody else who voted for it.
We were the ones who were going to benefit, right?
Have any of you out there watching, have any of you been invited on that yacht yet?
I mean, are you an employee on that yacht?
Are you the driver?
Are you a server?
Did it get you a job?
Did it do anything to better your life?
No, it didn't.
But that is exactly what republicans did with this tax cut, and see, here's the thing.
Here's the angle that hasn't been discussed too much, a little bit, but not enough, is
the fact that republicans, we're not only passing this tax cut to give a massive thank
you reward to their donors, it's because they themselves are getting massive tax cuts from
it.
This wasn't just for their donors, it was also for them.
15 republicans who helped write the tax cut laws will see an average tax windfall of $314,000
a year, according to ThinkProgress.
$314,000 a year for these republicans who wrote the law.
Those are just the ones who helped write it, not all the ones who voted for it.
These men and women who did this should be immediately removed from office.
They should be named more than just Vern Buchanan.
We need to find out who did this, because this is a direct conflict of interest.
These people should be removed from office, and forbidden from ever running for public
office again.
They have abused the public's trust, they have abused the power of the office, they
are screwing over American workers, tanking the economy, raising the deficit, just so
they can put money not just in their donors' pockets, but in their own pockets.

What If The Liopleurodon Didn't Go Extinct? - Duration: 4:08.
Liopleurodon was a huge sea monster that lived during the late Jurassic period.
It had huge, sharp teeth it used to snack on prey it ambushed in coral reefs.
But By the beginning of the Cretaceous period, which began 145 million years ago, liopleurodon
went extinct.
But what if it didn't?
what if it survived until modern day?
How would the course of history have changed?
That's what we're going to talk about, right now on life's biggest questions.
Hello and welcome back to life's biggest questions, the channel that imagines the impossible.
I'm Charlotte Dobre.
Don't forget to give this video a thumbs up, subscribe and ask us a question in the
comments below.
Before we can determine what would happen if liopleurodon didn't go extinct, let's
learn a little about it.
Liopleurodon is a marine reptile belonging to the pliosaur group, that swam in the earth's
oceans during the late Jurassic period, 160 to 150 million years ago.
Liopleurodon's name is greek for smooth sided teeth.
Back when it was discovered in 1873, 3 huge machetes like teeth were found in a French
town.
They became a little more famous after the BBC featured liopleurodon in their series
Walking With Dinosaurs.
The thing is, the BBC producers on the show lied a little about how big it was.
Rather than being 80 feet, Liopleurodon was more like 25 to 30 feet.
The BBC didn't exaggerate its size on purpose.
The fact is, they came up with 80 feet because liopleurodon's skull is oversized, meaning
that its head was pretty big in comparison to the rest of its body.
There were a lot of other types of pliosaurs as well as plesiosaurs swimming around the
ocean during the Jurassic period, and Liopleurodon was mid-sized in comparison
Back in the late Jurassic, a lot of what is now western Europe was covered by a shallow
body of water, inhabited by marine life.
Liopleurodon was the apex predator of this ecosystem, it ate pretty much everything in
sight.
From fish to squids to other types of marine reptiles.
It was a pretty fast swimmer and used its four flippers and streamlined body to hunt
quickly and effortlessly in the water.
That being said, it definitely wasn't the biggest or fastest predator in the sea.
When hunting, it would take cover in a reef and ambush its prey.
Perhaps one of the most notable characteristics of liopleurodon was its extremely good sense
of smell.
It could smell prey from extremely far away by detecting chemicals in the water.
It could not, however, breathe underwater, it needed to breathe oxygen at the surface
like whales do.
We know that liopleurodon lived in shallow waters, coral reefs were its home and hunting
grounds.
But that's also where sharks like to hang out.
As you probably know from our previous videos on this channel, huge sharks also roamed the
seas.
Between 23 to 2.6 million years ago, megalodon sharks were one of the main apex predators.
If Liopleurodon didn't go extinct, neither would megalodons.
If liopleurodons survived their extinction, past the mass extinction of the dinosaurs,
they likely would have been at the top of the food chain, at least, until sharks came
around.
Megalodon sharks consumed a wide variety of prey, who's to say they wouldn't have
eaten liopleurodons, who would have shared their habitat?
Liopleurodon would be no match for a megalodon shark, that was believed to have been up to
59 feet in length.
Not to mention, Liopleurodon needs to breathe air at the surface of the water, sharks don't.
That being said, considering liopleurodon has an extremely good sense of smell, it would
have been able to detect megalodon sharks from far away, and if one ever came around,
hide from it.
In terms of human history, a lot would have been different if liopleurodon didn't go
extinct.
Since liopleurodon lived in a shallow body of water over the top of what is now modern-day
Europe, it would have likely stuck around that area, when the water receded, still living
around reefs.
Essentially classical humans would have believed liopleurodon was a sea monster.
I mean, they didn't exactly know what dinosaurs now did they?
So the only other reasonable explanation would be that they were sea monsters.
Seeing as liopleurodon needed to come up to the surface for air, humans would have been
well aware of their existence, and would likely avoid them as much as possible.
Sea travel around the Mediterranean and western Europe would have been far more difficult.
I mean, people would have had to worry about liopleurodon and massive megalodon sharks.
Entire voyages likely wouldn't have happened, unless humans invented weapons powerful enough
to kill liopleurodon.

Meghan Markle's father fears he will DIE before she speaks to him again - Duration: 3:09.
Mr Markle was forced to pull out of Meghan's Royal Wedding, where he was meant to walk her down the aisle on May 19, as the 73-year-old was recovering from heart surgery
Last month a source close to Meghan's father revealed Mr Markle was fearful the Royal Family was freezing him out after he gave a controversial interview where he revealed details of private conversations he had shared with Prince Harry and his daughter
At the time the insider claimed Mr Markle, who lives in Mexico, had not heard from Meghan and the source alleged the Duchess of Sussex had not even sent a Father's Day card
Now the once-reclusive man has revealed he fears he could "die soon" before he has the opportunity to speak to Meghan again
He said: "I could actually die soon. Does she want this to be the last thing we've said to each other? "It is probably the longest time I have gone without speaking to her ever
"I just want to clear the air and tell her how proud I am of her. "If I had one message for her it would be that I'm sorry for anything that went wrong
Mr Markle also told The Sun on Sunday: "I think Meghan is in deeper than I am. "I'm not blaming Harry or anyone but they are following rules that don't make sense to me
"They are no less human than anybody else. God knows, I feel sorry for them, for not being able to show emotion
"The reason I am being shunned is because I made a profit on the staged pictures
" When previously contacted by Express.co.uk Kensington Palace declined to comment on whether Meghan has been in contact with her father
Mr Markle also claimed Meghan is "terrified" of her new role as the Duchess of Sussex which he said he could tell by her "pained" smile
Meghan's father said: "My thing about my daughter right now is that I think she is terrified
"I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile. "I've seen her smile for years
I know her smile. I don't like the one I'm seeing now. "This one isn't even a stage smile – this is a pained smile

MMD - Romeo and Cinderella ~ Mirishira ~ (Daleena Cohen) - Duration: 3:34.
Setting all the words and feelings for you free from me tonight
I'll let them go, but I just know they never were really mine
(Where art thou Romeo?) X3
I didn't see you right beside me
Just can't believe that I did not see
But aint it funny how we grew up so close and yet we never could take the leap
Us two together we'd always weather No matter happiness or terror
I'd know you better than all of the rest then Never to notice that our hearts had become one
But begging God not to keep us too far to reach from Towers to climb I wait here for you
Changing into people who may never meet again
And they just say all the same things trying to protect me
"Oh how she runs away, so cute"
They never see the real me, the Cinderella
And once upon a true love that was long long ago Burning bright as a flame that we would soon let blow
Now l'm left all alone, slowly watching you go And broken Juliet, she cried
Hey, thinking back, do you ever remember the past?
We were young and you promised "that" which never lasts
It was you, no one else, it was me, no one else
And yet the story is at it's end and curtains fall
Ridden me of all the things, so I can finally drink
And just forget how I loved you so
deep
Looking back into your eyes (You're the only friend I've had)
I see that you are blinded by a whole new love (And I've been just so glad Please stop or this get's bad)
It's her love (He's smiling!)
You're the only friend I've had (Looking back into your eyes)
And I've been just so glad Please stop or this get's bad (I see that you are blinded by a whole new love)
He's smiling! (It's her love)
Don't you know that's what I never wanted you to say?
And once upon a true love that was long long ago Burning bright as a flame that we would soon let blow
Now l'm left all alone, slowly watching you go and broken Juliet, she cried
Hey, thinking back, do you ever remember the past?
We were young and you promised "that" which never lasts
It was you, no one else, it was me, no one else
So please I beg don't let it end
We made a vow never caring what others would think So we hid and we loved but gone when I had blinked
I don't want you to leave so I just won't believe
But I'm the tragedy Juliet who dies of love
Ridden me of all the things so I now finally drink
This is the end of us now

Wrestlers Who've Fought Each Other In Real Life - Duration: 6:58.
For the most part, wrestlers only fight each other as part of the storyline that plays
out in the ring.
Every now and then, though, unchecked egos, misunderstandings, and just plain bad blood
can break into legitimate backstage brawls that are anything but scripted.
Here are the stories of some of your favorite wrestling superstars taking each other on
in real life.
Kofi Kingston vs. Vince McMahon
He's been the villain of plenty of in-ring storylines, but a wrestler actually fighting
WWE chairman Vince McMahon in almost unthinkable, especially for a fan-favorite good guy known
for pancakes, Booty-Os, and high-flying stunts like Kofi Kingston.
In Chris Jericho's book Best In The World (At What I Have No Idea), he says McMahon
decided to pick on Kingston during his rookie days, telling him on a plane,
"Maybe you'll get over one of these days."
In other words, the boss was taking a sarcastic jab at Kofi's popularity with the fans - or
lack thereof.
Jericho approached Kingston and told him he needed to fight back, and after some understandable
hesitation, Kofi confronted Vince and kicked off some serious trash talk.
That's when McMahon went for a legit double-leg takedown and a real-life wrestling match was
on.
A few moments later, McMahon picked himself up and started laughing, happy that Kingston
stood up for himself.
It clearly worked out for the high-flyer of the New Day, but for the rest of us, starting
fistfights with your employer is probably a bad idea.
Goldberg vs. Chris Jericho
The real-life battle between Goldberg and Chris Jericho was years in the making.
In 1998, Goldberg was a megastar known for obliterating opponents in under a minute,
while Jericho played an arrogant, obnoxious villain.
Seems like a perfect matchup, but it never happened.
As Jericho said in a podcast interview, Goldberg simply refused to work with him, and Jericho
himself refused to lose on regular TV rather than in a more lucrative pay-per-view match.
Years later, when both were in WWE, Goldberg confronted Jericho about rumors of some online
trash talk.
Insulted by the accusation, Jericho refused to back down.
When Goldberg went for Jericho's throat, Jericho grabbed him in a front-facelock and
took him down with no trouble, in a real life reversal of exactly the kind of quick victory
that Goldberg had been known for in the ring.
Shawn Michaels vs. Marty Jannetty
Before becoming one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, Shawn Michaels was one half of
a tag team called the Rockers, alongside Marty Jannetty.
By the early '90s, though, they were apparently sick enough of each other to throw down for
real.
According to an interview with Jannetty, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper instigated a fight between Jannetty
and Michaels, that Jannetty won quite easily, saying of Michaels,
"He's a good wrestler, but he can't fight."
The brawl was bad enough that the police were called, but Jannetty credits the legendary
Randy Savage for keeping him from being arrested.
The Macho Man told the cops the Rockers were simply practicing for a storyline, and the
star-struck cops agreed to let Jannetty go in exchange for some autographs, and maybe
a couple Slim Jims.
Eventually, the Rockers would have their on-screen breakup, but after a stellar career, Michaels
is a Hall of Fame legend, and Jannetty's name is unfortunately synonymous with the
weaker half of any tag team.
That's called winning the battle but losing the war.
Sid Vicious vs. Arn Anderson
Arn Anderson's 1993 brawl with Sid Vicious is one of the most brutal real-life fight
stories in wrestling history, and it's a wonder both men are still alive to tell it.
During a tour of Germany that involved a 9-hour flight, a two-hour bus-ride, a long night
of wrestling and another ten hours on the road, the wrestlers were well past exhaustion
and tempers were running high.
At a bar, Sid offered up an opinion that WCW was losing money because of older stars like
Ric Flair, and his best friend Arn Anderson.
Anderson understandably got mad, but a bar fight was avoided when cooler heads prevailed.
For a couple hours, at least.
Later that night, Sid broke the leg off a chair with intentions of clubbing Anderson
with it.
Anderson grabbed a pair of scissors, and this time, no one was around to break up the fight.
By the time the other wrestlers separated them, Sid had been stabbed four times, and
Anderson over 20.
The most amazing thing, besides the fact that they both survived and continued wrestling
for years?
Sid would later apologize, and the two men are actually on good terms today.
The Big Show vs. The Great Khali
When two seven-foot titans like the Big Show and the Great Khali decide to take each other
on for real, you'd expect the knock-down, drag-out fight to be literally Earth shattering.
According to Show, however, their backstage brawl was, quote, "the worst friggin' fight
on the planet."
While appearing on Chris Jericho's podcast, Show recalled that the fight with Khali broke
out over one of Show's signature moves, where he'd throw his opponent in the corner,
shush the crowd, then deliver a thunderous chop to the chest.
Khali started doing the same thing, and Show was none too happy.
When he confronted Khali, they began punching each other, and as Jericho put it, no one
would break them up because it was like King Kong vs. Godzilla.
They didn't need to bother, though.
The fight soon ended on its own when Show took a swing at Khali, tripped over a chair,
and fell down, somehow knocking Khali over on top of him.
The pile of giants then called the whole thing off.
Of course, If you ask Khali, all the wrestlers took his side in the fight and he made the
Big Show cry.
That's almost certainly untrue, but to be fair, it's a much better story than "we
both fell over."
The Plane Ride From Hell
If you've ever had a bad time on an airplane, you can always be thankful that you're not
one of the wrestlers on board 2002's infamous "Plane Ride From Hell."
This legendarily awful flight across the Atlantic made headlines for a lot of reasons, and none
of them were good.
One of the most memorable was an alcohol-fueled mid-air match between the legendary "Mr. Perfect,"
Curt Hennig and a young, but still terrifying, Brock Lesnar.
The details are hazy, but Hennig and Lesnar, both graduates of the University of Minnesota
with strong amateur wrestling backgrounds, apparently decided to see who could come out
on top in a takedown contest.
In the aisle of a 747.
While flying at 35,000 feet.
There are about 35,000 reasons that's a bad idea, but various reports say that the
two grapplers almost crashed into the plane's emergency door, which could've put a very
bad ending on what was already a miserable flight for everyone on board.
Luckily, that never happened, but Hennig wound up as the scapegoat, losing his job over the
whole episode.
Lesnar, on the other hand, was spared punishment.
It turns out that WWE had pretty big plans for him.

Is TRUMP-ism hijacking the REPUBLICAN PARTY? - VisualPolitik EN - Duration: 16:18.
have a question for you…
What would happen if Ronald Reagan would come back to life only to meet Donald
Trump in the oval office?
Do you think they would become friends?
Do you think they would shake hands and
find common ground, with similar values and political beliefs?
Of course, both are considered die-hard conservatives, both are considered a boogie man for the liberals
and both had a career on the show business.
But… in fact, this is where the similarities stop.
Ronald Reagan's job as president was to fight the worst recession since the great
depression and to do
so, he promised the Reagan Revolution.
The so-called revolution focused on reducing government spending,
taxes and regulation.
President Reagan liked the free market and believed that capitalism would solve the
nation's problems.
He also liked to portrait himself as a humble, paternal, figure.
In other words, he
pride himself for being a man of high moral values.
Donald Trump however… is a totally different animal.
He is showing off his fortune, his trophy former-
model wife, and he so obviously is the opposite of a paternal figure.
He would be more like your nasty
uncle, living like a bachelor regardless of his age and getting embarrassingly drunk during
family
reunions…
On the policy side, Trump is seldom friendly with free market and small state, loves debt
and the idea of
trade wars and his protectionist policy of taking care of America first seems to be at
odds with the
GOP's tendency to be in favor, at least in theory, of the free market.
As you can see… there is a CLASH that runs deep in the soul of the Republican Party.
Or at least, this is
how it looks like from an outside perspective.
In one hand, there is that…
Good Old Party that loves America… small government, low taxes and conservative values.
And then… there is this other Republican Party…
That loves trophy wifes, big beautiful walls and tariffs.
And who is winning?
Well… you guessed it.
There is a wave of Republicans leaving Congress Among all these differences in values and
policy, the news cycle has completely been taken over by a new
wave of republicans.
And who is the most important of all of them?
Well, that would be PAUL RYAN, the
speak, the speaker of the House and Republican's golden boy.
During years, Paul Ryan was the champion of
fiscal rectitude and small government.
And now he has announced we will not run for reelections.
And, as you can imagine, he is not the only one.
Many Republicans might be leaving but there are always new elections and, therefore, new
candidates but
also questionable characters.
Take for example the Alabama special elections back in December 2017.
Trump-backed candidate, Roy Moore, was buried under lots of allegations of sexual abuse
of minors.
After
this scandals, Republicans lost the seat in Alabama for the first time in decades.
But the biggest
surprise is that a Republican president supported an allegedly, sexual predator.
Could you imagine
something like this just 5 years ago?
As you could expect, this Alabama scandal appeared on all the
national newspapers and hit the White House.
And now you might wonder…
What did Donald Trump do to solve this PR crisis?
Exactly!
Nothing!
They did
nothing!
And this is one of the reasons why so many republican candidates are doing so bad on
the polls.
Even in traditionally red states.
But what does this mean for the White House?
Well, for those who don't keep up with American politics so
much, this year we have legislative elections.
The so-called MidTerms.
This is where the members of the
Congress and many senators are elected.
In America, the president, this is the executive power, is voted
in one election and the legislative power in another.
This is why, for example, despite Obama being
democrat, the majority on the legislative chambers was republican.
And if the republicans loose so many seats on this Midterms 2018, Trump is gonna be in
dire straits
anytime he wants to pass some bill.
But the real question now is… how did the Republican Party get here?
Can a political party change their
ideology this fast?
Today we are going to answer to all of these questions but before, let's take a look
back at history.
THE REAGAN REVOLUTION
Ronald Reagan started out as a registered Democrat and New Deal supporter but left the
party in 1962,
crossing over to the GOP stating that he didn't leave the Democratic Party but was the party
that left
him.
Nevertheless, things on the GOP where not ideal either.
According to Reagan, republicans had bought most
of the values of the Democratic platform.
And, despite the passionate rhetoric, there was some truth on
that.
Have you ever heard about CULTURAL HEGEMONY?
This is a concept Marxist philosophers like to use a lot.
According to them, the ruling class needs to create a consensus.
A set of moral values that are shared by
the majority of the political players, including the opposition party.
And back then, ideas like the welfare state and the need for a bigger state control on
the economy became
the new mainstream.
Even the republicans had to accept those principles if they wanted to keep being
considered a serious player.
This explains why both Nixon and Eisenhower did very little when it comes to
economics.
An, you guessed, Reagan was not a big fan of this hegemony.
No nation in history has ever survived a tax burden that reached a third of its national
income.
But here it comes the interesting part: cultural hegemony is something that changes over time.
How?
When
those values and common-sense stop working to solve people's problem.
This is what happened in the 70s,
with the crisis.
America was not in a good place back then.
And this was the window of opportunity for Ronald Reagan to reinvent the Republican Party
and create the
ideological platform we used to know as conservativism.
In other words, he took something old and made it shine again by kind of creating a
brand-new ideology.
But the real question is… how do you do that?
How can you create a brand new ideology that makes sense
and makes you win elections?
Well, introducing the theory of the EMPTY SIGNIFIER.
Basically Ronald Reagan went to all the political groups that felt outside of that old political
mainstream.
He spoke to the evangelical conservatives in one hand.
He spoke to the military industry
complex guys on the other.
And finally, he spoke to everybody who was tired of paying so many taxes.
Then, he merged all this groups into a common cause: Liberty and Freedom.
This is what we call an empty
signifier.
A concept so vague that everybody can project onto that vagueness the meaning they are looking
for.
For a fiscal conservative, freedom means being free from paying less taxes.
For a hawkish
conservative, freedom means fighting authoritarian rulers.
In this crisis, Government is not the solution to our problem.
Government is the problem.
But think about it…
How is that possible that you have people so different from one another in the same
platform?
It is a big-time contradiction to have someone who wants smaller government and someone else
who wants to increase military spending, right?
Well… if you wanna create a political identity, you need an antagonist.
And…
Ronald Reagan couldn´t have
it easier.
MR.
GORBACHEV, TEAR DOWN THIS WALL"
Yeah, the evil communists.
This is why during the 80s we have so many movies where the communist are the
bad guys.
Here you have titles like ´Red Dawn´, ´Rocky IV´ and, of course, ´Top Gun´.
All this movies,
alongside with Reagan's speeches, helped to create a brand new hegemony.
Even Democrat presidents like
Clinton had to promise tax cuts to win elections.
But… as you know Soviet Union fell in the 90s.
So what happens when you lose your antagonist?
Well… then
you find another one.
Like president Reagan did two decades before, President Bush operated from a Christian worldview
that
distinguishes between good and evil.
After the tragedy of September 11 president Bush announced that the
battle ahead would be "a monumental struggle of good versus evil, but good will prevail"
and that's how
the so called "evil" became America's new enemy.
We will rally the world to this cause by our efforts, by our courage, we will not tire,
we will not
falter, and we will not fail.
Of course, here I'm not saying that terrorist or communist are not that evil, or that they
are just a
fabricated monster.
Of course not.
But they can be utilized to create a political platform.
Every
important politician has done it.
Roosevelt did it, Reagan did it, Bush did it… but what happens when you
run out of enemies?
What happens when the Soviet Union is over or when Bin Laden is dead?
This is the
time for…
THE TRUMP REVOLUTION
After the 2008 financial crisis, the economic mainstream and the cultural hegemony was once
again
challenged, resulting in people not trusting the economic mainstream anymore.
The word didn't spread through mainstream media.
And immediately, the question arose whether or not the
lack of coverage was because it wasn't newsworthy or because some of the people being protested
against
had the control over the various mainstream media outlets'
When people lose faith in something, that usually leaves a void that needs to be filled
by a new kind of
discourse.
And here swoops in candidate Donald J. Trump with his inflaming speeches during campaign
rallies, all his personal scandals and the scorching and polarizing public statements.
Once again, a new presidential candidate managed to ally himself with an astounding variety
of political
and religious groups that felt misrepresented by the mainstream.
In fact, 80% of the Evangelical
Christians voted for Trump, much more than any other religious group.
Evangelicals values are those of family and moral integrity so, why isn't a character
like Trump, with
all his divorces and sexual scandals perceived as immoral?
Even in the light of the recent media storm surrounding the alleged hush payment to silence
porn star
Stormy Daniels, 78% of Evangelical voters still support Trump.
Some evangelical leaders went as far as publicly stating that they have given the president
what they
call a Mulligan, a do-over.
After much googling, dear viewers, I found out that to give someone a
Mulligan is a golf metaphor... which seems strangely appropriate considering Trump's
passion for the
sport
Yes, Evangelical conservatives gave him a Mulligan, they let him have a do over, they
said we will start
fresh with you and give you a second chance --Tony Perkings speaking at CNN
So how is this possible?
Well, you guessed, the antagonists come into play.
So, who or what is Trump's
political enemy?
The first group that immediately comes to mind is the mainstream media, or as the American
President
calls them, the fake news media.
The second enemy is the so-called Swamp, a term that refers to the not-
so-clean and not-so-transparent political scene in Washington.
The third of many more enemies is, you
guessed it, immigrants.
So, Trump can always play the 'me or the others' card.
And it seems to work for
him.
What do all these talking points have in common?
The alt-right has been using them for years.
Trump
managed to appeal to evangelicals and members of the far-right that for a long time have
felt
misrepresented by the liberal and mainstream media.
And Trump's rhetoric on migration also drew in the
support of the extreme far right, as was the case of the neo-nazi rally in Charlottesville
that wasn't
later condemned by the President, who went so far as to say that there were very fine
people on both
sides.
From Mexican rapists to bad hombres, the Trump campaign in two moments
Trump's rhetoric has also spawned a lot of Republican candidates that are trying to
appeal to the same
voters that are the core base of the president, going so far as to state that they are "Trumpier
than
Trump"… but... does it work?
Apparently, it mainly works for those bearing the Trump name.
Take for
example the West Virginia Republican primary.
One of the candidates came up with an ad that was filled to
the brim with Trump's preferred phrases and idioms and yet he still came up last in
the race.
In order to give a fuller account of the Trump presidency we would need a couple of days
but in the
meantime, considering all this controversy... how are the Republicans doing?
Many political analysts believe that a Democratic blue wave may crash onto these Midterms Election
but is
it only a reaction to Trump's scandals?
Or are the democratic-inclined voters more energized?
Republicans are losing 2018 midterm money wars
The GOP is worried about these incoming midterm election, as was reported by CNN.
In their piece CNN
reported that senior members of the party are warning the younger members to accumulate
as many donations
as possible, in order to be able to run successful campaigns in such a difficult political climate.
Suffice it to say that in the 88 most competitive House races, 40 Republicans have been out-raised
by
their Democratic challengers.
With House Speaker Paul Ryan abrupt exit, the Republican corporate donor base was a
bit shaken.
A number
of party donors and operatives believe that the Speaker's exit was the final piece of
evidence they
needed to flip their attention from the House to the Senate.
And that means empty wallets for House
Republicans which will pretty much be left to fend for themselves.
But we need to remember that, when it comes to politics, nothing is written in stone.
We at VisualPolitik
are going to pay special attention to these upcoming mid-terms.
So now it's you turn… are the Republicans losing their credibility?
Do you think they will lose votes?
Is
a democratic blue wave coming these midterms?

The TOP 10 Things to Do at DISNEY WORLD! - Duration: 4:25.
Hi everyone!
It's Eva.
Today I'm going to talk to you about my top ten favorite things to do at Walt Disney World.
These things can include rides, shows, character meet and greets, and food.
If you're new to my channel, hi!
I'm Eva.
I post videos related to all things Disney.
Subscribe if you want to see more of my videos and turn on the notification bell if you want
to get notifications every time I upload a video.
Make sure to like this video if you LOVE Disney World and comment down below your favorite
thing to do at Disney World.
Now let's get into the video.
Number ten: Expedition Everest.
This ride is in Animal Kingdom and it's really fun.
It's a really thrilling ride that takes you up a mountain and backwards.
This is my favorite ride in Animal Kingdom and I definitely recommend it if you love
thrill rides.
Number nine: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
As the newest ride in Magic Kingdom, this ride can have long waits, and the FastPasses
are pretty hard to get.
But that's because it's really fun!
This ride is totally worth the FastPass.
It's such a smooth ride with amazing theming.
I definitely recommend this ride if you are going to Disney World anytime soon.
Number eight: Frozen Ever After.
This ride is located in World Showcase in Epcot.
I recommend this ride if you love Frozen.
This ride can be a little bumpy, but I think it's really magical and it fits in really
well with the theme of Norway.
Number seven: Happily Ever After.
This is the newest show in Magic Kingdom and I love it.
It replaced Wishes, which was my old favorite show, but Happily Ever After is almost as
good.
The projections on the castle are amazing, and the soundtrack includes songs from all
different Disney movies.
This show definitely isn't worth missing.
Number six: Soarin'.
This ride is located in Epcot and was recently renovated to include countries from all around
the world instead of just flying over California.
This ride really makes it feel like you're flying, and it's really fun.
It's great for people of all ages, and this is my FAVORITE ride in Epcot.
Number five: Dole Whip.
If you're ever wandering around Adventureland in Magic Kingdom, stop by and get a Dole Whip.
It's this pinapple soft-serve that's really good.
It's actually non-dairy, so it's vegan, and it's definitely my favorite treat to get at
Disney World.
Number four: Tower of Terror.
This ride is located in Hollywood Studios, and can make your stomach DROP.
It's VERY thrilling, and kind of scary, honestly.
I actually cried when I went on this when I was around 9.
But it's fun, and it's themed after The Twilight Zone.
I actually think the scariest part is getting on the ride, rather than actually falling.
Number three: meet Ariel.
You can meet Ariel at Ariel's Grotto.
One of my favorite things to do at Disney World is meet characters, especially the princesses.
Even though my favorite character is Belle, she's pretty hard to meet unless unless you
go in Enchanted Tales With Belle, so I like to meet Ariel!
You can just line up to meet her outside of Ariel's Grotto and you get to meet her.
And you can just take a picture with her and get her autograph and I think it's worth it.
Number two: Splash Mountain.
This is my favorite ride in Disney World because it's so fun in a bunch of different ways.
You go up hills, down hills, and through a mountain, and then you get to see the characters
singing.
And then you get to go down the best part, which is the big hill, while they take your
picture.
And I love this ride.
Honestly, it's so fun.
It's a pretty long ride though, but this is my favorite ride.
Number one: Illuminations: Reflections of Earth.
This show is in World Showcase in Epcot.
You can see it from any country.
It's a firework show, but it has other cool things too, like a big globe and real fire,
and the soundtrack is amazing.
This show is definitely worth seeing, and it's my favorite thing to do at night in Epcot.
I hope you enjoyed the video.
That's all of my top ten things to do at Disney World.

Roy Keane and Ian Wright argued about France's penalty at half-time - Duration: 2:16.
VAR was supposed to take the controversy out of football, wasn't it? Generally, VAR has been a success during this tournament in Russia
But in the World Cup final - the most important match in football - everyone was talking about VAR for all the wrong reasons
In the 35th-minute, Antoine Griezmann swung in a corner-kick was inadvertently handled by Ivan Perisic
It was certainly accidental and, despite protests from the French players, referee Nestor Pitana waved them away
That was until the video assistant referee told Pitana to come and have a look at the pitch side monitor
Four-and-a-half minutes later and it was a penalty for France.Griezmann converted it and football fans around the world were arguing whether or not it should have been awarded
But it wasn't just fans that were arguing over the decision - pundits were as well
Keane and Wright were at each other's necks following England's defeat to Croatia in midweek and they were at it again at half-time of the final
Wright suggested that if he was a French player, he'd have wanted a penalty for Perisic's handball
And it didn't go down well with Keane. He suggested that Wright needs to get his 'head examined' before insisting that the decision was "disgusting" and that he's "fuming
" And football fans were absolutely loving yet another clash between Wright and Keane on TV
To make matters worse for Croatia, replays suggested that Griezmann dived to win a free-kick that led to France's first goal

President Trump Awkwardly Blocked Queen Elizabeth — and Twitter Has Some Thoughts - Duration: 3:38.
Queen Elizabeth and President Donald Trump's meeting wasn't without some awkward moments
The leaders met for the first time on Friday, and the internet couldn't help but notice how Trump walked in front of the Queen during their walk while inspecting her Guard of Honor
In a viral clip, the monarch appears to make a hand gesture as they turn the corner
She then attempts to pass behind the president, who stops walking and completely eclipses Queen Elizabeth from view for a moment
She returns to his right side and continues their walk. Grant Harrold, a former butler for the royal family, told ITV News that letting the Queen lead in every scenario is a top rule in royal protocol
Twitter users, including Alyssa Milano, called out the break in etiquette. "This is disgraceful, @," wrote the actress
"SHE'S THE QUEEN and she's 92 years old! You're incapable of acting like a human being
You're incapable of being a leader." After more than a year of back-and-forth about whether he would be heading to the U
K. for an official visit, the president — along with First Lady Melania Trump — met the Queen at Windsor Castle
The Trumps were welcomed at the Quadrangle of the castle, where a Guard of Honor gave a royal salute and the U
S. national anthem was played. The Queen and President Trump inspected the Guard of Honor before watching the military march past
The president and first lady then joined the Queen inside the castle for afternoon tea
Protesters marched through the streets of London — about 20 miles from Windsor Castle — against Trump's U
K. visit on Friday. Carrying signs that read "Trump Not Welcome" and "Dump Trump," tens of thousands of British people took to the streets of central London to protest Trump in what was dubbed a "The Stop Trump March
" Trump didn't seem bothered when a crowd of protestors showed up to interrupt his golf game over the weekend by calling him racist
While squeezing in a round of golf at the Trump Turnberry resort in Scotland on Saturday, the president was seen waving to a group of nearby protestors who were chanting, "No Trump, no KKK, no racist USA
" In a video shared on social media by Frankie McCamley, a reporter for the BBC, Trump can be seen walking towards the protestors to acknowledge them, before turning back to resume his game

Stormy Daniels Motorboating Not Allowed At Next Strip Club Gig - Duration: 2:10.
Stormy Daniels Motorboating Not Allowed At Next Strip Club Gig
Stormy Daniels better keep her boobs to herself at her next strip club gig, unless she wants more pokey time.
TMZ has learned.
Stormy's scheduled to get on the pole at the Pink Pony in Atlanta on July 22, but the club tells us absolutely NO motorboating will be allowed.
We're told Georgia laws prohibit contact of any kind between dancers and patrons, and it will be strictly enforced.
We're told the PP ain't about to risk losing its license, especially on the heels of Stormy's Ohio arrest.
As for other concerns.
the club tells us it always has security when a celeb is in the house, but they're adding a few extra guards for Stormy.
We're told there haven't been any threats, but some angry Trump supporters have filed complaints.
As we've seen in recent months, motorboating is Stormy's go-to move while stripping, but that's precisely what got her busted in Columbus.
The charges were quickly dismissed because the city's "no touching" statute only applies to strippers who are regulars.
No such loophole in Georgia, so Stormy better stay abreast of her breasts and patrons' faces and hands.
at all times. .

Kylian Mbappe: Rio Ferdinand issues Manchester United transfer plea for France ace - Duration: 2:48.
Mbappe made history as France beat Croatia 4-2 in the World Cup final in Russia today
The 19-year-old scored a sensational goal from 25 yards out to become the youngest goalscorer in a World Cup final since Pele in 1958
Mbappe's stunning goal has capped off a brilliant tournament for the young Frenchman and the Paris Saint-Germain man has been tipped for a big-money money away from Ligue 1
And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand wants the Red Devils to sign the forward
"He is a superstar. It wasn't a shock for him to do that in a World Cup Final," Ferdinand said on
"He is the guy that Cristiano and Messi are handing the crown over to. He will be on the Ballon d'Or podium for the next 10 years
"I hope my old club is chasing him. "I hope they've got their cheque book out, saying 'whatever it costs, we'll take you'
" When Alan Shearer joked if it was West Ham Ferdinand wanted to sign Mbappe, the former Manchester United man did clarify that he wants the Red Devils to pull out all the stops to land the Frenchman
Ferdinand added: "His connection with [Paul] Pogba as well, there's a little connection there
You saw the pass for Pogba's goal." And the Old Trafford faithful agree with Ferdiand on social media
"United should break the bank for Mbappe. Will never happen, but what a signing it would be," one fan wrote
Another said: "Dear Ed Woodward, just pay what ever it takes, mortgage the stadium, increase ticket prices, increase jersey prices, it doesn't matter what you do as long as you sign Mbappe
The fans will understand. This is a strategic move for the next decade, get it done
" "Forget Gareth Bale, pay whatever it takes to bring Mbappe to United, pls Lord Woodward," a third fan wrote
