his grandma was a little on the insane side.
Whenever she was babysitting him, she had a bizarre way of making sure Nixxiom behaved
himself.
If he so much as made a loud noise, or said anything mean, she would sneak up next to
him and bite his ear.
Sometimes she would appear out of nowhere, and nibble on his lobes.
Needless to say he was constantly on his best behaviour around her.
He still has nightmares about the old woman's breath in his ears while she bites him in
his sleep.
9 - GirlThatTimeForgot10 Gooby When Gooby was younger, she was invited to
a party and had nothing to wear.
She decided to borrow her mom's very expensive antique necklace without asking her.
While she was at the party, she had to use the bathroom.
After bending over to flush, the necklace disappeared down the bowl, never to be seen
again.
When her mother found out, she was furious.
She sat Gooby down in a chair, duct-taped her so that she couldn't move, and put on
an endless loop of the show Digimon.
Gooby was a pokemon fan and hated Digimon.
She was forced to watch it for five long hours.
She never borrowed jewellery again.

for taking his mom's money without asking.
It was winter, so it wasn't hard for his parents to find a way to make him pay.
His weird punishment was that he was forced to go outside in the snow without any pants,
in below zero temperatures, and roll around in the snow for a whole hour.
When he came inside, he was freezing cold, and his butt-cheeks were the colour of a bright
red tomato.
He immediately grabbed some pants and a blanket to warm his frozen backside.
He learned his lesson after that.

out the dishwasher when his hand slipped and ended up dropping one of the dinner plates
and breaking it.
When his parents rushed in to see what happened, he realised he was in big trouble.
They told him to sit in the laundry room while they discussed his punishment.
A few minutes later, they came into the room and told him that he would have to sleep on
the dog's bed instead of his own.
That night he lay in the kennel grumbling, while his pet dog slept in the luxury of his
bed.

to participate in a game of capture the flag.
His team was playing a great game, but the opponents seemed to have disappeared.
After a while, he found the opponent's flag unguarded, covered in graffiti penises.
He took the flag to the teacher, but the teacher thought it was him that had drawn the cartoon
wangs.
The teacher told MKyleM that for his punishment, he had to stand next to the flag and copy
the flag's movements with his body.
Everyone laughed as he stood next to a weiner flag, flapping his body in the wind.

to go to his dad's house for the whole summer.
He hated staying with his Dad because it meant he had to help his dad at work, where he slaved
in the hot sun all day with no pay.
One day he was so fed up with all the heat and heavy lifting that he refused to work
anymore.
When they got home that night, he made Slapped Ham sit down at the table, and for 2 straight
hours, eat nothing but hot baked beans.
Any time he stopped, his Dad would scream at him until he continued.
He ended up vomiting beans everywhere and can't stand the sight of them to this day.

2018 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Review | Track Test | Edmunds - Duration: 10:18.
[MUSIC PLAYING] CARLOS LAGO: Even though the Alfa Romeo 4C has been for sale in the US
for some time now, there's still nothing quite like it.
Sure, there's a lot of similarly priced two-door sports cars, but nothing that matches the
Italian design flair that the 4C delivers and nothing else that really has the same
construction underneath.
In this video, we're going to go to the test track to see how fast this car goes in a straight
line, and how well it corners to see if the driving experience can match the good looks.
So, we'll start our acceleration tests like we always do in the key up settings, where
we have the car in its normal mode and in automatic.
This does have launch control, so it will be faster.
But we also just like to see and get a baseline and see what this will do when you just turn
it on and let it get warm.
OK.
Let's go.
So, the 4C, the first run, the key up settings, it's decently quick.
You know, I'd say that acceleration time is pretty good.
It sure makes a lot of fuss going about it though.
The clutch engagement is a little bit long, when you just mash the gas.
But the noises are everywhere.
The feedback is everywhere.
This car wants you to know how fast it's going.
In fact, it wants you to think you're going a little bit faster than you actually are.
This is very much about sensation, not about the data.
OK.
So, for launch control, we'll put it in dynamic, which means pushing this lever up and then
releasing it, and then pressing and holding it until it says Alfa Race-- Alfa Romeo Race--
connected.
So, I'll mash the gas with my right foot, wait until launch control looks like it's
working, and then release the brake.
Let's do it.
Oh.
Gotta shift manually in Alfa Romeo Race.
That's one of the few automatic or dual clutch cars with a launch control that requires you
to shift manually.
Now we try launch control.
Ready.
Let's do it.
So, we've cut a fair amount of time off the acceleration by using launch control.
It feels like a clutch dump basically.
When you mash the gas, it goes right up to about 3,000 RPM or so.
Release the brake and it's just a hard release on the clutch.
That gets you out of the hole quickly.
Although, you just have to focus at that point on hitting your shifts.
Fortunately, the tach turns yellow when it looks like it's time to shift.
So, I was just basically using that as a reference.
It's kind of hard to read the tach, because you only have 500 RPM increments.
So who knows whether the red line is 6,500 or 6,000.
I was shifting at six.
I didn't want to get into the rev limiter.
You're not buying this car to see how fast data loggers tell you it is.
You're buying this car to see how fast this car tells you it is.
And it feels way faster than it actually is.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
It's a philosophical question.
What's more important to me is actually going fast, but feeling good about it, too.
So, the Alfa Romeo 4C is an interesting car for reasons that become apparent very quickly
on this handling track.
The first thing you notice is that the steering is very heavy and has a lot to tell you.
That's because this is a manual steering rack.
There is no assistance, either hydraulically or electronically back to the wheel.
Whatever the front wheels do, the wheel tells me.
Whatever I want to do, I have to wrestle through the system to make it happen
Now, the intent is this is what driving used to be.
This is what it's supposed to be.
Manual steering is good because this is how cars are supposed to handle.
In effect, I'm not quite sure if it works.
It makes for a very busy steering that requires a lot of effort.
And that effort can reduce your confidence in the car, which makes you a little bit less
eager to take the line that you would prefer to take on a closed circuit like this one.
But this is such a light weight and inherently nimble platform, with a really nicely balanced
chassis.
The really fun thing about this is like many mid-engine cars, it oversteers just slightly
on corner entry.
And it stabilizes when you go to power.
So that creates for a very engaging platform, a very fun way to throw the car around.
It's something that I could do all day.
This turbo charged, four cylinder engine is very loud, but picks up nice and quickly,
powerfully in low revs.
Traditionally, a car like this would have a really peaky, naturally aspirated engine
if it was made 10 years ago.
But now it has a broadly powerful turbocharged engine, that allows you to get away with running
a gear higher than you normally would.
Now, we need to slow for corner like this.
You get some understeer if you try to go in too hot.
But I got to say, the platform in this makes this for a very fun car to drive quick.
It's just, I long for a little more accuracy.
And I wish the wheel didn't have to need as much effort as I'm having to put into it,
because that's affecting where I'm putting this car on this track.
I'm not putting it in the places where I'd like to.
Because I'm not trusting that the wheel is going to do everything I tell it to.
It may try to talk back, when this is supposed to be a one-sided conversation.
Now, this is a nimble car that isn't afraid to give up on rear grip.
But it does so in a way that's not traditional drifting.
It's not power sliding.
It's more of an old school slide.
They're really small and subtle.
Just like that, just small movements that help the car stay where you want to be.
Help it-- helps it turn the car in in some areas, too, like right there.
Little bit of countersteer, little bit, just to maintain the angle.
And that's exciting.
That's fun.
That's the kind of excitement I want out of a car like this.
What I don't want is the sound that this engine makes.
And I don't want the excitement through the steering.
You have to want the driving purity that you get with the manual steering, or at least
the ability to brag about it.
But then you have to also be OK with having an automatic transmission.
Transmission shifts quickly enough.
But if you're going to put your stake on having a manual steering system, because that's how
you drive cars, it's weird to then have an automatic.
All in all this is a very fun, if single purpose, car that owners should be cautious of and
understand before they go try to pick out theirs.
We're probably only going to talk about the interior of the 4C briefly because frankly
there isn't much going on here.
If you look down around, you see a lot of carbon fiber.
And that's because the structure underneath the seat is all carbon fiber.
And they're really proud about showing that off.
Or they didn't want to spend the money and cover it up with material that would otherwise
hide the beautiful weave they have going on here.
Now, the interior is an expert exercise in reducing features, maybe as a way to cut costs,
but also maybe as a way to embrace the purity of driving.
If you reach your hand behind the stack here, you can actually like touch the wires and
everything that make the whole dash work.
The head unit is literally an aftermarket alpine head unit that you can take the faceplate
off of and stow if you don't want to get it stolen.
And the USB and auxiliary inputs are literally just cables hanging down from a pouch in the
dash.
So, interior functionality not an important part of the 4C.
What is though is driving, so let's turn it on.
There we go.
OK.
Once you fire the car up, the dash you see is all digital.
6,500 RPM redline, very clearly displayed, a lot of focus on making it look very showy.
But that's kind of it when it comes down to the interior.
Window controls and power mirror controls in the center.
You've got a toggle here that switches between the dynamic settings, the race setting, and
the all weather setting.
And that's really it.

The Alfa Romeo 4C can be a very exciting car to drive, but for brief periods, kind of like
a dirt bike, or a jet ski, or a super car from the '80s.
And that makes it more of a toy than a car.
That could mean it's the right solution for a small amount of owners who like that sort
of experience.
But for most people, we think there are better options for this price when it comes to sports
cars.

In this lesson, you can learn about will, might and would.
Do you know the difference between will and would?
What about the difference between might and would?
In this lesson, you'll learn what these modal verbs mean, and how to use them correctly.
One point: when we say might, we also mean may.
Might and may are used in the same way, so almost everything you hear about might is
also true about may.
In the few cases where might and may are used differently, we'll make it clear.
Let's start by looking at the difference between will and might.
Look at a pair of sentences:
I'll go to a yoga class tonight.
I might go to a yoga class tonight.
What's the difference?
The first sentence, with will, expresses certainty.
You're 100% sure about your plans.
The second sentence, with might, expresses possibility.
You're not 100% sure about your plans.
It's possible that you'll go to a yoga class, but it's also possible that you'll
do something else.
That's the difference between will and might.
Both modal verbs are used to talk about the future.
Will expresses certainty about the future, while might expresses possibility, which in
a way is the opposite of certainty; possibility means that you're not certain about something.
Think about the negative forms:
I won't go to a yoga class tonight.
I might not go to a yoga class tonight.
Can you see the difference here?
The answer is the same: using will or won't shows that you're 100% sure about what will
happen.
Using might or might not shows that you aren't 100% sure about what will happen.
Let's see some more examples of this:
It will be hot next week.
You're sure about this.
It might be hot next week.
It's possible that it'll be hot, but you aren't sure.
He won't come unless you tell him several weeks beforehand.
You're sure about this.
He might not come unless you tell him several weeks beforehand.
It's possible that he won't come in this case, but you aren't sure.
Next, let's think about the difference between will and would.
When you say,
It will be hot next week.
Or: It might be hot next week.
…you're talking about the real future.
You think it's possible that it will be hot next week.
Even if you're not sure, it's still a real possibility.
What do you mean, 'real future'?
Is there another kind?
Glad you asked!
Yes, there is.
In English, you can also talk about the imaginary future.
Let's see how:
If I could go anywhere, I'd go to Nepal.
Who would you choose if it was up to you?
I'd never speak to you again if you told her.
Look at these examples.
Do you know what 'imaginary future' means?
It means you're imagining something in the future, but you don't think it will actually
happen in reality.
If I could go anywhere, I'd go to Nepal.
I can't go anywhere, so I won't go to Nepal.
I'm just imagining it.
Who would you choose if it was up to you?
It's not up to you, so you can't choose.
I'm just asking you to imagine that it's your decision.
I'd never speak to you again if you told her.
I don't think you will tell her, so I don't think it's realistic that I'll never speak
to you again.
Of course, I could be wrong…
So, when you use will, you're talking about the real future.
You're certain about something that is a real possibility.
When you use would, you're also certain, but about the imaginary future.
You're imagining a future, and you're sure about what would happen in that imaginary
future…
…but, you don't think that imaginary future will ever actually become reality.
Ok, now we'd like you to think about something.
Look at three sentences:
Even if you ask, I won't help you.
Even if you asked, I wouldn't help you.
If you asked, I would help you.
A question: which of these sentences means that I will help you in the future?
Think about it.
Actually, that was a trick question.
All three sentences mean that I won't help you in the real future.
Did you get it right?
In our experience, many students get this question wrong.
Either way, let's explain the answer.
Even if you ask, I won't help you.
This one is hopefully obvious.
If you say, I won't, you're talking about the real future.
Even if you ask—in reality—I won't help you—in reality.
Even if you asked, I wouldn't help you.
What's the difference between this and the first sentence?
The only difference is that I don't think you'll ask me to help you.
You won't ask me to help you, so I won't help you.
But, even if you asked, I still wouldn't help you.
Nice of me, right?
If you asked, I would help you.
This is the sentence that can cause problems.
Can you explain why this means that I won't help you, in reality, in the future?
This sentence is about the imaginary future.
Using would means that you don't think this situation will happen.
If you asked, I would help you, but I don't think you will ask, so I don't think I will
help you.
This is an important point, and it can cause misunderstandings—we've seen it happen
many times!
Let's look at this in more detail.
Look at two sentences:
She won't agree.
She would agree.
What's the difference between them?
Hopefully, now you can answer that question.
The most important point is that in both sentences, you mean that she won't agree in reality.
In the first sentence, that's all you're saying; you're saying that she won't agree
in the future, and you're sure about that.
In the second sentence, you're talking about an imaginary future situation which exists
in your head.
You're not talking about what you think will happen in reality, so the basic meaning
is similar: she won't agree in reality.
Urgh—so abstract!
Why are we making you think about this?
If you don't understand this, you can very easily misunderstand quite important points
when you're speaking to someone in English.
For example, imagine you invite someone to your birthday dinner.
The other person says:
Well, I would come…
You think, 'Great!
This person's coming!'
You walk away and continue making your birthday plans.
Except, as you hopefully understood, they're not coming.
They left part of their sentence unsaid.
The full sentence might be something like:
I would come if I wasn't so busy.
I would come if I was free.
I would come, but I don't want to spend any money on buying you a present.
You don't know.
The point is: the other person won't come to your birthday dinner in reality.
And, reality is probably more important to you, right?
Of course, this wouldn't be a problem if everybody was direct and said exactly what
they meant, but in the real world, people are often indirect, and they don't say exactly
what they mean.
Also, people usually speak with contractions: I'll, I'd, she'll, she'd, etc.
It can be hard to hear the difference, but the meaning can be totally opposite.
If you're listening, and you're not sure if someone said I'll or I'd, here's
our advice: ask!
It's important, because you could completely misunderstand the situation.
We've talked a lot about will and would here, but what about might?
Can you use might to talk about the imaginary future?
You can use might to talk about the real future or the imaginary future.
Look at three sentences:
It might snow next week.
He might have a different suggestion.
Taking the bus might not be the best way to get there.
Are these sentences about the real future, or not?
Is it possible that it will snow next week, or not?
These sentences are about the real future.
They all describe real future possibilities that you aren't 100% sure about.
In a simple sentence like this, might is always about real future possibilities.
However, you can also use might to talk about the imaginary future, too.
Do you know how?
Here are some examples:
If I had more energy, I might join you.
He might not pay you back if you lent him the money.
Can you see the difference?
You can use might to talk about the imaginary future only in a sentence with if.
You also need to use a past tense verb after if.
Think about something: what do these sentences mean?
The first sentence means that I don't have more energy, so I won't join you, but I'm
imagining a future in which I have more energy, and even in that imaginary future, I'm not
100% sure I would join you.
Clearly, whatever you're inviting me to isn't very exciting.
He might not pay you back if you lent him the money.
I don't think you'll actually lend him the money in reality, but I'm imagining
a future where you do lend him the money, and in that imaginary future, I'm not 100%
sure whether he would pay you back or not.
Finally, this is one case where might and may are different.
You can't use may in these sentences to talk about the imaginary future.
Only might is possible.
Up to now, you've seen how to use will, might and would to talk about the future.
But, what about the past?
First of all, you can't generally use will to talk about the past.
There are one or two cases where you can, but it's rare.
Generally, will is about the future, or sometimes the present.
You can use would or might to talk about imaginary past situations.
What does 'imaginary past' mean?
Like the imaginary future, it means you imagine a past which didn't happen.
For example, let's say that you studied history at university.
You want to imagine a past where you studied medicine instead.
You might say something like:
If I'd studied medicine, I would have become a doctor.
I might have been more interested in my studies if I'd studied medicine.
In these cases, you're imagining a different past.
You didn't study medicine; you studied history.
But, what if you had studied medicine?
Imagine it; that's the situation these sentences are describing.
A question: what do you need to add after would or might to make the meaning past?
You need to add have and a past participle verb.
Also, when talking about the imaginary past, you almost always use an if-sentence.
Let's see some more examples:
I would have bought you a present if I'd known it was your birthday!
If I had missed the train, we might never have met!
Next question: can you explain what these sentences mean?
Let's look together.
The first sentence is imagining a different past.
In reality, I didn't know it was your birthday, and I didn't buy you a present.
But, I'm imagining a different past, where I knew it was your birthday.
In that imaginary past, I'm 100% sure I would have bought you a present.
The second sentence is also imagining a different past.
In reality, I didn't miss the train, so we did meet.
However, in my imaginary past, I missed the train.
In this imaginary situation, I'm not 100% sure whether we would have met or not.
Maybe we would have met somewhere else, or on another day, but maybe not.
You can see that these sentences contain a lot of information!
However, you only really need to think about two (or maybe three) things:
One: are you 100% sure or not 100% sure?
If you're 100% sure, use will or would.
If not, use might.
Two: are you talking about real life, or an imaginary situation?
If you're talking about real life, use will or might.
If you're talking about an imaginary situation, use would or might.
The final thing: you need to think about whether you're talking about the future or the past.
However, this doesn't change which verb you should use; it just changes how you should
use them.
