backplanes more fade to silence and hopefully we're gonna be clearing this

area out the rest of the way yeah I've been trying to do some of the crafting

it's tickets so long the main thing that's taking the longest

is collecting enough wood because the stuff has to respawn yeah I haven't

gotten all the all the places you can collect wood yet but that's just I don't

want to run through area and do something then not recorded it turns out

real neat and cuz I know this area had a hunter I'm pretty I'm we're gonna be

clearing out the rest of this little air small area over here this time hopefully

hopefully I don't have to deal with the hunter those hunters are I guess are

technically not stronger than the Crushers but they're fast really really

really fast every time I come this way this battle music starts sorry for the

coffin oh I was thinking this I just thought of

something I started it off over there but I think

I'm gonna have to do a huge run to get back to where I want to be yeah figure

it out here in a few seconds I know I looked through these before but now I

have a clear inventory even stuff behind I couldn't carry last time so hopefully

this area will be clear this go around

me and I was getting loud something right there I think that's another one

of those things that I ignored okay what's the best way getting all the way

up there let's check the handy-dandy map I think I came down this way so that's

probably the way I'm gonna go back up this side I don't remember which Hey

gonna be going going off for a while I don't get caught up I think that thing

just missed me too I heard something to the left

okay come on god I keep going I think this way is a little bit shorter maybe I

know I went the wrong way last time

hopefully I can find some wood up here so I don't want that craft at all that's

gonna be a big old nuisance I've been working on it but it hasn't been smooth

that crafting is just a little pain in them but it wouldn't be bad if you can

cue up stuff they need to cue up stuff

need to be able to cue up stuff for that type of crafting because all the way out

here if I don't clear this out I have to basically start from here and run all

the way up which doesn't look like a short distance but this area is kind of

bigger they've used this space really well in this area

it's tall not big our long clearing out some stuff I missed last go-around I

need would pick up their ruse I know I got space for him pick up atheros I know

I got space for them probably opened all this stuff already just have no room I'm

not gonna grab those I'll grab those because I I don't want to grab that and

I'll probably use that can't use it I'll pick it up that dude anyways it'd be a

waste of food in oh yeah why don't you get up here and stop glitching out leg

I want to show you guys what I actually have to do to craft why it's such a pain

in the butt

why I haven't done it fast enough should grab a torch while I'm doing this that's

inventory I want this I don't know you know I sort of made two upgraded

inventory slots now it's just clear it all out of here

actually I need some that food come here food I've been slacking on getting the

people to craft stuff for me and go hunting and stuff you know it says that

the your companions can do the crafting and stuff for you and they get more but

it's not as reliable not as reliable at all I've set off two people to go get

items and our go hunt and they have not came back yet or I don't even know if

they actually went out

that's good daytime here hopefully for hours and do it I didn't check the time

boo lizard

I guess going to be another four hours force

another four hours wasted okay weather event has ended

awesome probably gonna be attacked here pretty soon okay what I have to do yep

there's the attack I guess I'll get through this attack first this stuff

always responding it'll disappear then I reappear let's see I'm waiting for our

crusher to come through come on come on Jen let's get these fools oh no mom you

let's kill these enemies

hey usually kills faster than that

okay next coming from over here Tom and completely miss Knope and that

looks like it lease all the Soul Reapers and them doohickeys okay let's see how

many of these guys we have 33 out of 57

and now I'm not gonna go after those other guys it's basically pointless

I know easy way getting rid of them but I'll show you a lot of times this will

work you go over here and you teleport away and you come back and go reset

usually sometimes it doesn't sometimes you get attacked within another few

minutes but a lot of times you don't

come on there we go there we go and we're back now so sometimes clear

out this debris yeah get back to work follower okay you come over here clip

that any bad okay Nick this crafting the lumber come over here click this get

them crap from that I mean I didn't show you the lumber okay uh lumber you use

five out of 38 okay I'm just gonna reset that then you come over here you set up

something here I usually do this to get you like one piece of wood okay now what

do you do and within five game hours that's gonna

be done and that thing to the side is always going to be poppin every few

seconds or you leave then you had to come straight back or you come over here

and you asleep well there's a noxious noise again alright for five hours and

hopefully they get done a lot of times they do taking a break I think they do

that the tainted wood was done drop my mic and it's just a reprint and repeat

situation every time something is done you go back and sleep and then you think

it wouldn't take that long but a lot of times they'll stop doing this stuff

taking a break that's the thing that makes it take the longest is the them

taking a break I understand they're trying to be realistic but come on okay

that's enough of me complaining about the construction and that's kind of why

I don't show it off that much because it's just a bunch of monotonous stuff

you can't really reliably go out explore and come back and have liked it ten

things done you got to come back every few minutes okay sorry for complaining

Hi, my name is Bill.

Today I am going to show you how to replace your washers power cord.

The reason you might have to do this is that your washer won't run at all after checking

to make sure the outlet works properly.

For this repair, you are going to need a flathead screwdriver, Philips head screwdriver, a pair

of needle nose pliers, a pair of regular pliers and a pair of channel locks.

Warning, before doing any repairs please disconnect your power source.

So this is our washer here. It is a kitchen aid, and this is what were gonna use for our repairs.

Keep in mind yours might be a little different at home but the same techniques should still apply.

Now we are going to grab our pair of channel locks and we are going to remove the water hoses.

Make sure before removing the water hoses you do turn off the water.

Then we take the water hoses off, keep in mind there might still be some water in the lines.

Now we are going to remove our drain hose.

Use the pair of pliers, pinch the clamp in, move it up and then pull the drain hose off.

Keep in mind there might still be some water in there.

Keep a towel or something handy near by or bucket to drain that into.

Take the Phillips head screwdriver and remove the two screws holding the control panel on

the front side.

Now remove the other two screws from the back, again with our Phillips head screwdriver.

Now that you got those two screws off you can remove the control panel.

Should just pull right up.

Push forward and pull right up.

Now, start by taking off the air pressure hose.

Remove each of these wires.

Now just pinch this clip and pull this one out.

Now we will get our flathead screwdriver and remove the grounding wire.

And I am just going to put the screw back in there so we remember where it goes to make

everything a little bit easier.

Now we just have to remove this. There is clips on both sides,

now just pinch the clips in.

Then pull the wires out.

Now that all of the wires are unhooked we can set the front control board off to the side.

Next, I am just going to remove the two wires here.

They have a clip on it, just pull it out.

And this wire here has a little tab on it just pull up on it and pull it out.

Now just put the screw back in, just so we remember where it is supposed to go.

This is the power cord part that sticks to this side here to get it out we are going

to take our needle nose pliers squeeze in that little tab then it will come right out.

Now you can grab your new OEM replacement power cord, if you do not have one already

you can find one on our online store.

Alright, so we are going to put the tab thing on here and it should lock in place when you

put it in. And it has a little room there. Push it right together.

Now we will just feed it through, and it clips right back into place.

Now we can hook it back up again.

Then plug in a couple of wires here, put these ones in together just like that.

Then we are going to feed this back through here.

Take the screw out, hold onto the screw, then put this back on.

Now we can plug our control board back in.

And put that right here.

Make sure it is tight in here.

And next, to put the grounding wire back in take this off.

Here is our grounding wire.

Then grab the plug and plug this in.

right here.

And our sir pressure switch right back in here.

Now we will set this backup line up the tabs here over the slots.

At the same time, you always wanna make sure that the back panel is underneath the control panel.

Okay, now this should be all lined up.

Now we can screw back on the hinges.

Now just like the hinges up and screw it back in.

Now we can turn this back around now and get those last two screws in.

Alright, now we can hook everything back up.

Put the drain hose back on, and to do that we are going to simply squeeze the clamp to

move it up a bit, attach this back to the connection here.

Once that pushes all the way down get the pliers again, grab that clamp and wiggle it down.

Now we have a nice and secure connection.

Now, screw our water hoses back on.

Make sure you got your hot going to your hot and your cold going to your cold.

On this model, they are labeled "C" and "H".

Once you got that screwed on nice and tight grab your channel locks and tighten it the

rest of the way.

Do the same thing for the other one.

And then we can turn our washer back around, hook everything back up and then your repair

is complete.

Finally, do not forget to plug in your appliance.

WP21366 - Replacing Your Washer's Spanner Nut - Duration: 4:51.

Hi my name is Bill, and today I'm going to show you how to replace your washer's spanner

nut.

The reason why you might have to do this because damage from excessive corrosion or because

you had to cut it off when repairing your washer.

For this repair you'll need a hammer, a spanner wrench, and a ratchet with a 7/16 socket and

a couple of extensions on it.

WARNING: BEFORE DOING ANY REPAIRS, PLEASE DISCONNECT YOUR POWER SOURCE.

So this is our washer here, it's a Kitchen Aide, and this is what we're going to use

for our repairs.

Keep in mind yours might be a little different at home but the same techniques should still

apply.

To get to our spanner nut, we're going to open up our washer.

Now we're going to take off this part of the agitator, there's a small cap in here, we'll

take that out as well.

That's our agitator bolt, to get that out we're going to be using out 7/16 socket.

So we just put that in there, and then hold on to the bottom of the agitator a little

bit so you allow it to spin while you loosen it.

Get a couple turns.

This should be loosened up now, and we can pull this right out.

Now that that's off, we can pull the rest of the agitator out.

And this is going to be our spanner nut.

So we're going to get our spanner wrench.

We got 4 little notches that will line up with the hole there.

We've got a hammer, because this is going

to be tight and you're not going to be able to get it by hand.

So we're going to take the hammer, and just tap it a couple of times to loosen it.

We're going to go counterclockwise.

There we go, now that we've got it loosened, we can just do the rest by hand.

Now you can grab your new OEM replacement spanner nut.

If you don't have one already you can buy one from our online store.

So we're going to take the spanner nut.

Put it on here.

Grab our wrench, and tighten it clockwise.

Then we grab the bottom half of our agitator.

And grab the top half of our agitator, push this plastic in.

Just make sure everything lines up.

And that will go down nice and smooth.

And we'll take our socket with the ratchet,

tighten that back up.

Once the agitator starts spinning, grab the bottom, hold it while you tighten it the rest

of the way.

And you put this cap back in.

Put the liquid soap dispenser back in.

Close the lid, and your repair is complete.

Finally, don't forget to plug in your appliance.

241885001 - Replacing Your Refrigerator's Ice Crusher Housing - AP4511889, PS2378689 - Duration: 4:32.

Hi my name is Bill and today I'm showing you how to replace the ice crusher housing on your refrigerator

The reason why you might have to replace the housing is that it's cracked or damaged or because it's getting jammed up with the auger and it's not dispensing ice properly

For this repair, you'll need a quarter inch nut driver, a flat head screwdriver, and a Phillips head screwdriver

Warning, before doing any repairs please disconnect your power source

For this demonstration, I'll be using an Electrolux refrigerator

This is a side-by-side fridge Keep in mind though that your fridge may be a little bit different, but the same technique should still apply

To start this repair, we're going to open up our freezer

We'll remove this shelf here

And we're going to take out our ice bin, which houses our ice auger and all the wonderful stuff that goes with it

So to take this apart, we're going to start with the screws

With our Phillips head screwdriver, we're just going to undo these two here

And we're going to start with this side

Now that we've got those four screws off

Take off the front plastic piece and set that off to the side

Now we're going to take out quarter inch nut driver, we're going to remove these screws

Now that we've got those three screws off

We can take our E-ring right here

And we can pry that off, just take a flathead screwdriver

Just like that

Be careful not to lose any parts

And now that that's off

The ice crusher housing is free, and we can just pull that right out

Now you can grab your new OEM replacement housing, if you don't have one already, you can buy one on our online store

Now we can put the ice crusher housing back on

What you want to do is make sure, this is somewhat lined up here

Feed this through here

Now that we've got those back on

We can put this washer back on and our little E-ring

And to get that back on, it's a little tight right there

Just like that

Make sure everything spins properly

And then we'll put the front back on

There we go

Alright, now we can open our freezer back up

And slide this back into place

Just like that

Put the shelf back up top

And your repair is complete

WP694424 - Replacing Your Dryer's Natural Gas Limiter - AP6010608, PS11743791 - Duration: 10:52.

Hi, my name is Bill and today I'm going to show you how to replace your natural gas limiter in your dryer

The reason why you might do this is because your switching back to natural gas from propane or because you've lost or damaged the pieces

For this repair, you'll need a quarter inch nut driver a small flat head screwdriver and a regular flat head screwdriver

Warning, before doing any repairs please disconnect your power source

This is our dryer model, it's a Kenmore

Now keep in mind that ours might be a little bit different than what you got at home but the same techniques should still apply

So what we're going to do first is turn the dryer around

And we're going to need to remove these two screws

Now that we have those screws off

We can take the top off

Just pull it back a little bit

And remove it

You can set it off to the side

Now I'm going to turn the dryer back around

And the next thing we're going to do is remove the two screws holding in the access panel on

Once those screws are off

You just take your panel

Push down on it

Pull down on it just a little bit and it comes right out

Now we're going to take out the two screws holding in the console

So it's going to be on the top of the front of your dryer

We just have to, take this screw out here

Now I have to take out this screw here

Now we have to just unplug these wires here for the console

Push that tab in

Exactly like the other one

After we do that, we can pull this metal panel out from the trolls prod

That can be set in there

Now that everything's undone we can just pull up on the control panel

And just remove that and set it off to the side

Now I'm just going to push this plastic tab here and push it through

Alright, now we're just going to undo this wiring harness here

And now you can just slide the screwdriver, right between the clips

And pull it apart

Now, I want to just remove the filter here

We don't need that in there right now

Just going to get in our way

And now I'm going to undo the two screws up here

And now, we're going to remove the screws off of this

Should be four in total

As your removing this last screw, just make sure your holding onto the panel so it doesn't fall on you

Now we're going to remove these screws here

Now we can lift up on the bulk head

And we're going to pull it right off here

We're going to set this gently down

We have one more wiring harness to undo

Now with our screwdriver again, we'll push down on this clip

And you should be able to pull it apart

The next thing we're going to do is going to reach back in here and take off the belt

And in order to get the belt off

We're going to have to push up on the lever to release the tension

Reach in with our other hand, and now we can just take that right off

Now that the belt is off

Take the drum out

Set that off to the side

So this piece right here is our natural gas limiter

What we can do is, use a flat screwdriver

And unscrew that

Just a little bit

And then once we got it loose we can get it by hand

There we go

Now, you can grab your new OEM replacement natural gas limiter

If you don't have one already, you can find one on our online store

Now we'll just put this on here and hand tighten it as much as we can

There we go, and we'll take our short screwdriver again

And just turn it a little bit

Tighten it the rest of the way

Then we can put everything back together again

Set it all the way back on the wheels there

And drop the belt down, and we'll put the belt back on

Now to put the drum back on

We're going to take the belt

We're going to go

On the other side of the wheel here

Just like this

And we're going to lift it up

And then, loop the belt around the shaft here

And make sure everything's on straight

There we go

And then everything should be able to spin freely now

Just like that

Now we're going to get our bulk head

And we're going to set that right back up on top of

These clips

And just make sure that everything's clipped in

Now we're going to do the top two screws again

Now we're going to get the bottom two screws

Now that we've got those tightened up

We'll plug in this wire harness again

Now we'll put the fan cover back on

And just make sure you line up these holes

Screw it all back in

Now, you can grab your lower access panel, and we'll put that back into place

There we go

And no we can screw that all back in

Now we're going to go ahead and plug these wires back in together

And we can also, put this clip right back in here

Next we're going to put the control board back on

Slide that in there

There we go

And now we can screw it back on

Now we're going to grab this metal panel

With the control board on it

Slide that back into the slot

And then we can screw it back in

Now we're going to plug in the wires for the control board again

Lastly, we're going to turn the dryer back around

WP697770 Replacing Your Dryer's Blower Cover Plate Seal - AP6010626 PS11743810 - Duration: 5:37.

Hi, my name is Bill and today I am going to show you how to replace your dryer blower cover

plate seal.

The reason you may need to replace this part is if you seal is damaged or warn and you

are getting hot air and lint coming out of the drum.

For this repair, you will need a 1/4 inch nut driver and a putty knife.

Warning, please do not forget to unplug from your power source.

This is our dryer model.

It is a Kenmore.

Keep in mind it might be a little different from what you have at home but the same techniques

should still apply.

The first thing we are going to do is remove the two screws holding the lower access panel on.

Once those screws are off take your panel pull down on it just a little bit and it comes

right out.

Now I just want to remove the filter here you do not need that in there right now.

Now remove the screws off of this should be four in total.

As you are removing the last screw make sure you are holding on to the panel so it doesn't

fall on you.

This is the seal we are going to replace.

You got a couple of bad spots on it so you are going to want to replace that.

Start by peeling this off here.

And to make it a little bit easier I got a putty knife and I am just going to scrape

it all off.

Now we got everything scraped off and cleaned off as best as we can so we are going to grab

our new part.

This is our new OEM replacement seal if you do not have one already you can get one on

our online store.

Now we are just going to undo the backing for this.

We can just start right in here.

then just go right around.

Overlap right here then just press down on everything.

make sure it is stuck real good.

As long as you are sure everything is on there good and tight we can put our housing back on there.

Now put the fan cover back on.

Make sure you line up the holes.

Screw it all back in.

Now you can grab your lower accent panel and put that back into place.

Screw it all back in.

Now we can put the filter back in.

Close the door and your repair is complete.

Finally, do not forget to plug in your appliance.

it's tickets so long the main thing that's taking the longest

is collecting enough wood because the stuff has to respawn yeah I haven't

want to run through area and do something then not recorded it turns out

real neat and cuz I know this area had a hunter I'm pretty I'm we're gonna be

clearing out the rest of this little air small area over here this time hopefully

hopefully I don't have to deal with the hunter those hunters are I guess are

technically not stronger than the Crushers but they're fast really really

they actually went out

hopefully they get done a lot of times they do taking a break I think they do

that the tainted wood was done drop my mic and it's just a reprint and repeat

situation every time something is done you go back and sleep and then you think

it wouldn't take that long but a lot of times they'll stop doing this stuff

taking a break that's the thing that makes it take the longest is the them

taking a break I understand they're trying to be realistic but come on okay

that's enough of me complaining about the construction and that's kind of why

I don't show it off that much because it's just a bunch of monotonous stuff

you can't really reliably go out explore and come back and have liked it ten

The Untold Truth Of Black Adam - Duration: 6:15.

Almost every superhero has an evil opposite.

Spider-Man has Venom, Superman has Bizarro, and Shazam the hero formerly known as Captain

Marvel has the deadliest of them all: Black Adam.

Powered by the same mystical lightning that makes his nemesis so formidable, Adam has

all of Shazam's powers, and is far more ruthless in using them.

He's easily one of DC's most popular villains, but that wasn't always the case.

Here's the untold truth of Black Adam!

Black Adam appears

To say that Captain Marvel was popular in the '40s might be the biggest understatement

in superhero history.

Captain Marvel Adventures legendarily outsold Superman, and in 1945, Fawcett launched yet

another comic for Cap and his sidekicks that would run for 89 issues: The Marvel Family.

For the launch of a new magazine, Otto Binder and C.C.

Beck knew they needed a pretty big story, so they put a new spin on an idea they'd

already tried with a villain named IBAC who was powered by history's greatest evils.

In "The Mighty Marvels Join Forces," they revealed that Billy Batson wasn't the first

mortal to wield the power of Shazam.

The original was Teth-Adam, an Egyptian man who lived 5,000 years ago, and who was chosen

for what the wizard saw as the purity of his soul.

Unfortunately, power corrupts, and being the most powerful person on Earth quickly went

to Adam's head.

After snapping a Pharaoh's neck a bit of violence that's pretty shocking by Shazam standards

Adam was exiled by the wizard to "the farthest star," from which it coincidentally took him

about 5,000 years to return.

When the Marvel Family tricked him into saying "Shazam," all that time caught up with him,

and Teth-Adam quickly aged so fast that he turned to dust before their eyes.

And believe it or not, that's how he stayed for the next 30 years.

Back in Black

After crumbling to dust in 1945, Black Adam wasn't seen again until DC started publishing

Shazam in the '70s with the title changed because Marvel Comics had snapped up "Captain

Marvel" in 1967 for their own cosmic hero.

In Shazam #28, Dr. Sivana (with an assist from Otto Binder and legendary Superman artist

Kurt Schaffenberger) employed a "Reincarnation Machine" to bring Adam back to life and set

him loose to destroy Boston.

Unfortunately for Adam, his second outing wound up going exactly the same way as his

first one, right down to being tricked into saying "Shazam."

This time, though, he stuck around long enough to cement himself as one of the Shazam family's

greatest foes.

What's in a (magic) name?

If you're up on your comics trivia, you're probably aware that Shazam's magic word gave

him the attributes of six mythological patrons: the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules,

the courage of Achilles, the power of Zeus, the stamina of Atlas, and the speed of Mercury.

Considering how similar they are, you might assume that Black Adam drew from the same

sources for his own powers, but that turned out to not be the case.

When Billy realized that being 5,000 years old put Black Adam squarely before the time

of wise King Solomon, the wizard explained that he was powered by Egyptian deities, with

the stamina of Shu, the strength of Hershef, the power of Amon, the wisdom of Zehuti, the

speed of Anpu, and the courage of Menthu.

If a few of those don't sound too familiar, well, that's because Binder fudged it a

little, using lesser-known names for a few of the gods.

Zehuti and Anpu, for instance, are definitely more well known as Thoth and Anubis.

As for why he bothered to change Anubis, when it already fit the acronym, your guess is

as good as ours.

Theo Adam and the Power of Shazam

In 1987, the Shazam Family was formally inducted into the DC Universe following Crisis on Infinite

Earths, but with all his similarities to Superman, it didn't really work until writer/artist

Jerry Ordway relaunched The Power of Shazam in 1994.

One of Ordway's biggest changes in updating Captain Marvel for the '90s came from the

way he reimagined Black Adam.

He was the first creator to make Adam into the book's primary villain from the start

not just for Captain Marvel, but for Billy Batson, too.

Rather than just being an ancient Egyptian warrior, Ordway's take gave the villain a

modern-day secret identity: Theo Adam, a greedy archaeologist who accompanied Billy's parents

on a dig, and eliminated them in a fit of rage in order to get his hands on a priceless

artifact.

Even worse?

That artifact allowed him to transform into Black Adam, becoming Captain Marvel's first

and greatest arch-nemesis.

Not only was he his evil opposite, he was also the guy who took his parents from him,

mixing a touch of Batman into Billy's origin.

In 1999, Ordway would add another interesting twist when Adam started saving people, and

even turned himself into the Justice League, claiming to be innocent of Theo Adam's crimes.

In both an earthly courtroom and a mystical trial, he proved that Theo Adam and Teth-Adam

were actually two different people who happened to share a body due to the wizard's magic,

and that every evil act had been done under Theo's influence before Teth-Adam had been

able to regain control.

With that, Adam was reformed… more or less.

While he still occasionally found himself operating as a supervillain due to Theo's

lingering influence, Adam was heroic enough that he even joined the Justice Society of

America.

The ultra-violent king of Kahndaq

Remember how Black Adam's very first appearance in 1945 started off with him snapping a dude's

neck and taking over his country?

Despite his seeming reformation, that tendency towards shocking on-panel violence was something

that remained a part of Adam's character all the way through the modern age and in the

21st century, it was ramped up to the extreme.

His most famous act of ridiculously over-the-top brutality came when he shoved the Psycho Pirate's

eyes through the back of his head, but he also vanquished Terra from the Teen Titans

by punching through her torso, and at one point, after being stripped of his powers,

even resorted to cannibalism.

The idea, it seems, was to make him as dark as Shazam was bright, but it's easy to argue

that creators of that era went too far.

When Black Adam was rebooted once again in 2011, he was still undeniably villainous,

but that level of blood and gore was apparently left behind.

If you smell what Black Adam's cookin'

The biggest piece of Black Adam news to come along… well, ever, has undoubtedly been

the casting of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in DC's cinematic universe.

In 2014, after years of speculation, it was revealed that Johnson will be taking on the

role of Teth-Adam, perhaps making his first appearance in the sequel to Suicide Squad.

As exciting as that is, it's also pretty surprising for Johnson to be cast as the villain.

Shazam is based on the childhood power fantasy of a kid who can transform into the coolest

adult he can imagine.

With that in mind, he seems like a much more natural fit for the hero what kid wouldn't

want to say a magic word and turn into the Rock?

Why Taylor Swift Fans Are Over Her - Duration: 4:52.

Taylor Swift has achieved massive success since releasing her self-titled debut album

in 2006.

Hits like "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me" shot her to superstardom, and critically

acclaimed albums like 2012's Red and 2014's 1989 only confirmed her solid-gold future

in the industry.

But along with the Grammy and Billboard award-winning singer-songwriter's success came controversy.

From rifts with some of the industry's most popular acts, to poorly received music, these

days, Swift may be attracting the wrong kind of attention.

So what's going on?

Here's why fans aren't listening to Taylor Swift anymore.

'Famous' made her infamous

The Taylor Swift-Kanye West feud can be traced back to 2009, when the rapper interrupted

her acceptance speech at the MTV VMA's.

But the pair's bad blood boiled over in 2016 when West released his song "Famous", which

featured the line:

"I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.

Why?

I made that bitch famous."

The rapper was blasted for the lyrics, with many people deeming them misogynistic.

But he maintained that Swift had approved the song long before its release.

Swift, however, claimed otherwise and slammed West for the line in a fiery speech at the

2016 Grammy Awards.

"There are going to be people along the way, who will try to undercut your success, or

take credit for your accomplishments."

That's when West's wife, Kim Kardashian, released the alleged footage of the singer speaking

to West about the song.

Needless to say, the incident subjected Swift to major backlash, with social media users,

including Kim, trolling her with snake emojis.

The trouble with September

There are few cover songs that can top the originals, especially when it comes to R&B.

Some might say Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" and Aretha Franklin's "Respect"

are honorable mentions, but others, like Earth, Wind & Fire's classic hit "September" can

never be outdone, no matter who tries to do it.

Unfortunately, Swift found that out the hard way after sharing her cover of "September"

in April 2018, as fans took to Twitter to express their extreme displeasure with her

version of the tune.

Even Allee Willis, who co-wrote the song said it was:

"...[A] very calm and somewhat boring take of one of the peppiest, happiest, most popular

songs in history."

Yikes.

There's a new act in town

Cardi B took the world by storm when she released her chart-topping single "Bodak Yellow" in

2017, and there's a good chance she poached lot of fans from more than a few entertainers.

In fact, by the time Cardi's debut album Invasion of Privacy rolled around in April 2018, she

was surpassing records that were only held by Swift with her LP.

According to People, the album garnered 100 million streams on Apple Music in just over

a week.

And it's the platform's fifth most-streamed album of all time.

That's reportedly more than double the amount of streams held by Swift for her Reputation

album.

But there aren't any harsh feelings between the two, as Swift sent Cardi flowers in 2017

to congratulate the rapper on her success.

Additionally, Cardi later raved about her love for the singer in an interview with People.

Swift might even be able to grab some of those fans back with a future collab.

Skipping the tunes for the app

Who needs to stream Swift's music when you can actually interact with her in real life?

Perhaps that's the idea the singer had in mind when she partnered up with Glu Mobile,

the same company that created the hugely successful games Kim Kardashian: Hollywood and Nicki

Minaj: Empire, to design her app The Swift Life, which was released in December 2017.

The app gives her fans exclusive access to her very own social network, where they get

photos, videos, and news updates directly from the singer herself.

Missing in action

Swift mysteriously disappeared from the public eye in the middle of 2017, purging traces

of herself from several of her social media accounts and her website, which left fans

guessing, regarding her whereabouts.

By the time the fall rolled around, Swift was still MIA and had only released one single,

"Look What You Made Me Do," from her then-upcoming album, Reputation.

Elvis Duran, host of Z100's Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, attempted to clarify Swift's

retreat, explaining:

"[In the past,] she's been out there giving away pieces of her life, and people have run

with it, and maybe taken advantage of it.

I think it might have burned her to a degree."

Luckily, Swift later returned to the public eye, but, considering she reportedly hadn't

done any promotion for her project around its release, it's safe to say many people

just didn't know she was releasing any music.

Locking it down

Swift has had major rifts with streaming giants, including Apple Music and Spotify.

After pulling her music from the platforms, she opened up about her issues with them in

a 2014 op-ed for the Wall Street Journal.

She wrote,

"Music is art, and art is important and rare.

[...] It's my opinion that music should not be free, and my prediction is that individual

artists and their labels will someday decide what an album's price point is.

I hope they don't underestimate themselves or undervalue their art."

She went to blows with Apple Music the following year as well, expressing her dissatisfaction

that the platform wouldn't pay artists for music that users listened to during their

free trials.

She eventually mended fences with both streaming services, but the short absence may have hurt

her in the long run.

How Air Conditioning Works - Duration: 4:39.

If you're feeling the summer heat, you might be tempted to switch on the machine that makes

all the problems go away: your air conditioner.

And the source of that sweet relief?

Well, of course it's chemistry.

Air conditioners pull off the seemingly magical feat of making the air inside a home, car,

or shopping mall deliciously chilly.

Air conditioning -- and refrigeration, which is the same thing just in a slightly smaller

box -- rely on the laws of physical chemistry.

And p-chem tells us that as a liquid evaporates into a gas, it absorbs heat.

The molecules in a liquid are held together by weak intermolecular interactions.

Not quite chemical bonds, just enough passing attraction to keep them from flying apart.

Some of the molecules absorb enough heat energy -- in other words, they get moving fast enough

-- to overcome these intermolecular attractions, ESCAAAAPE and take gaseous form.

That's the reason you feel chilly getting out of the shower, and why we sweat to stay

cool.

The water has to absorb heat to evaporate.

And it carries that heat away from you.

An air conditioner's basic job, then, is to use a fluid called a refrigerant that constantly

changes from a liquid to a gas and back to a liquid again to move heat from one place

(your sweaty bedroom) to another (outside, where it's already hot and miserable anyway,

so who cares.)

Here's a admittedly very schematic-ified version of how most a/c units work.

The liquid refrigerant flows through a series of coils exposed to the air in your home.

The refrigerant has a low boiling point, so the heat from the interior air is enough to

make it turn into a gas.

Which means there's now more heat in the refrigerant, and less in the air.

A fan blows that colder air into your room.

Or straight into your face, we're not judging.

So now your A/C has to do two things: dump the heat absorbed by the refrigerant outside,

and two, it has to condense the refrigerant back into a liquid so it can be used again.

And to do those things it uses a compressor to ramp up the pressure on the gaseous refrigerant

-- so much that it can condense into a liquid again, even though it's at the warmer outside

temperature.

As it condenses, the refrigerant loses heat to the air around it, which another fan blows

outside, where it's already all sticky anyway.

Which is a neat trick, boiling something at a low temperature and then condensing it at

a high one.

Nothing in thermodynamics is free, and the compressor needs energy to do the work of

compressing the refrigerant.

Which may explain your power bills in July.

After the refrigerant condenses, the air conditioner backs off the pressure with an expansion valve,

so that the refrigerant can boil at the lower temperature again.

Which it does, in a loop, over and over until your home reaches the temperature you set

the thermostat to, or your housemates complain and switch it off.

While the refrigerant could be practically any substance, there are some chemicals that

do the job better than others, and these refrigerants have a checkered history.

A refrigerant needs to have a pretty low boiling point, and one that can be adjusted to where

you want it by changing the pressure on it.

It should also be pretty good at conducting heat, be able to absorb a lot of heat as it

boils.

AND THEN it needs to be cheap, widely available, and as non-flammable and non-toxic as possible.

That kinda narrows your choices of chemical.

Scientists thought they'd found the perfect refrigerant with Freon, the trade name of

a group of chemicals called chlorofluorocarbons.

But CFCs are actual murder to the ozone layer.

They've been largely replaced with hydrofluorocarbons, or HFCs.

HFCs don't damage the ozone layer, which is good!

But they have a different problem...they're greenhouse gases.

So the search is on to phase out HFCs too.

Some alternatives?

Simple hydrocarbons like these have been approved in the USA.

Hydrofluoroolefins like this one are less rough on the climate than HFCs, but also more

expensive.

The most surprising potential replacement is CO2.

CO2 totally works as a refrigerant, and even though it is the literal poster child for

greenhouse gases, it's also way less potent than HFCs.

Whatever we use in the future, it doesn't seem likely that we'll give up on AC altogether.

Not in a scorching summer like this one.

Why the wars America starts are unwinnable | Danny Sjursen - Duration: 5:49.

Iraq and Afghanistan are very different wars.

They've been equally ill-advised in my opinion.

Iraq, what I saw in Iraq was a civil war, a straight forward civil war.

And I remember a moment in 2007, three of my soldiers were already dead, about eight

had them wounded in a unit of just 20 soldiers, so we were pretty battered, we were pretty

beaten up.

And there was a moment when we were retrieving bodies, quite frankly, because in the night

the two militias would just kill these teenagers and attack each other and in the morning the

bodies would be there for us to find.

And so I was recovering bodies as we often did, and on the way back from the recovery

of these bodies we were hit with an IED, and so I realized: not only am I policing a civil

war that only started because of the American invasion, but I'm being attacked by both

sides in the civil war because of my presence, because of the American occupation.

So America's occupation had unleashed a civil war.

I don't think it was on purpose, but it was an ill-advised invasion.

We didn't understand Iraq or its inner dynamics, its ethno-sectarian milieu, we did not understand

that.

So I think for Iraq what turned me off was watching the civil war unfold and America's

helplessness to truly respond.

Afghanistan I would call "the unwinnable war," and again, that's my opinion, but

if you look at Soviet record in Afghanistan or the British record in Afghanistan it has

gone poorly for ANY occupier over the course of several hundreds of years of history.

It would take more soldiers than we are capable of providing; it would take more money than

we could afford.

And what we've done instead is we've sort of muddled our way through an ongoing insurgency

with the Taliban.

And here's the problem in both in Iraq and Afghanistan: the governments we put in place,

the governments that we—instead of democratically elected but America creates the conditions

for these governments—We back certain parties.

The governments that we've put in place are generally considered illegitimate, corrupt

only marginally effective in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

So what we have in Afghanistan is the unwinnable war, 17 years after the war starts.

And the Taliban is stronger today, in control of more provinces today—and there is nothing

that 15,000 Americans soldiers can do, besides die of course, they can do that—but there's

nothing that 15,000 American soldiers can do besides muddle along and keep the insurgency

going and just keep everything at sort of a stasis.

We're not winning.

And so if we're not winning then I think that we have to take a hard look at our interventions

in Iraq in Afghanistan.

And if we're going to take a hard look at Iraq and Afghanistan we ought to take a very

hard look at our other undeclared wars in Yemen, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, and everywhere

else that we're currently either bombing or flying drones over.

So when you talk about why we're there, because this is an important question, what

are we doing, if not winning?

I wish it was as simple as what some sort of conspiracy theorists or certain parties

think, it's all about the oil or it's all about the money.

And all of that is a part, but I think it's much more complex.

I think there are two major threads that told us in these wars: Number one is that there's

a lot of profits being made in the military industrial complex.

Quite frankly the war—selling arms—is one of the last American industries that's

left.

It's one of the last things the United States does well, that we're still number one at—number

one at dealing arms in the world.

Number one at supporting our military budget.

Our military budget is eight or ten times Russia's.

It's three times China's.

It's more than the next nine or so in a row.

So that's one thread.

And the other one is we've got sunken costs.

It's a sunken cost dilemma.

We've lost all these soldiers.

We've spent all this money.

We're fighting "terrorism."

That's a tactic, that's a very strange thing to declare war on.

We're fighting "Islamist extremists," we say, in the Middle East.

When we do that, if we pull out there's a portion of the American electorate, I would

say probably a majority, that would say, "We can't leave, because if we leave there will

be more terrorist attacks on us!

We can't leave, we've already spent 7000 lives and $2.2 trillion."

And so I think this sunken cost fallacy steps in.

So what do we have now?

We have the inertia of a military industrial complex, which makes a lot of money for a

lot of people and keeps a lot of people employed, on one end, and then we have the sunken cost

fallacy on the other side, where we say "We've committed so much we can't possibly leave."

No president wants to be the president that "lost the war on terror."

Instead we're on our third administration now, President Bush he just wanted to leave

without losing.

Barack Obama, totally different figure, he wanted to leave without losing.

He didn't want to be the president that lost the war on terror.

And I would argue that it is very unlikely that President Trump will be the president

who ends the war on terror.

So that means we're looking at potentially up to seven more years of war with no end

in sight, and no one even talking about final victory anymore.

And that's interesting because soldiers will join the army next year who were born

after 9/11.

And we need to think on that for a second and what that says about our republic, what

that says about the nature of service and the nature of warfare, of perpetual warfare

in the American psyche.

How do you tell a child, how do I tell my teenager what peace even looks like?

He's never lived it.

He's never seen it.

He was born in 2002.

I think we have a lot of—These are things where we're going to have to grapple with

as a society.

It's more than just the military, it's more than just the defense industry or the

politicians.

We have to grapple with what it means when a republic—an ostensible democracy—goes

to war and stays at war for decades.

By the time I turned 30, I was still kind of a mess,

I certainly did not find much writing success in my 20's,

but I kept writing anyway.

against me, as one does.

I would read about all these book deals

that people were getting and just think,

"Where's my book deal?"

And then I had to realize, "Oh, I haven't written a book."

But I was always writing.

Before I was publishing, I was submitting my work

and getting rejected and getting deep in my feelings

about that rejection.

Then just sending more work out.

But I was still working and putting in the time

and putting in the effort to become better.

Games You'll Want To Buy In August 2018 - Duration: 6:16.

While the summer used to be a slow time for video games, August has turned into a gateway

to the holiday gaming season.

This August promises to be one of the biggest yet.

You'll be able to jump into a whole new adventure in the land of Azeroth, take one last stand

against the walker horde, and make your way into the wild to hunt down the fiercest monsters

you can find.

And that's just the beginning of the explosive lineup of new releases.

Here are the games you'll definitely want to buy in August 2018.

Overcooked 2

The chaotic local co-op cooking simulator Overcooked hit the indie scene in 2016 and

became an immediate critical darling.

Pitting up to four players in perilous kitchens full of obstacles and a long line of backed

up orders, Overcooked provides one of the most interesting co-op experiences that doesn't

involve shooting zombies.

It's no wonder that developer Ghost Town Games is back at it with Overcooked 2.

This sequel brings more of the fast-paced co-op action you know and love, but but the

biggest addition to Overcooked 2 is an online multiplayer mode that allows you to team up

with other players from around the world.

Overcooked 2 is out on August 7th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth

Blizzard has been steadily releasing expansion packs for its MMO phenomenon, World of Warcraft,

for the last decade and change.

The last expansion, Legion, arrived in 2016, which means it's about time we get to see

what's next for the land of Azeroth.

Well, if you've been sitting around waiting for something to do in the game since hitting

level 110, August is going to be a very big month for you.

Battle for Azeroth goes back to World of Warcraft's roots, focusing on the battle between the

Alliance and the Horde, the game's central conflict.

Along with a new story, the expansion adds two new modes that should keep players busy

until the next expansion: the strategic PvE mode Warfronts and the fast-paced Islands,

which emphasizes replayability.

On top of all that, the expansion also raises the level cap from 110 to 120, so it's time

to get grinding again!

You can enlist in the Battle for Azeroth on August 14th.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season

Clementine faces the zombie horde one last time in The Walking Dead: The Final Season.

After spending six years with the young hero as she grew from from helpless little girl

to hardened survivor, we'll finally say goodbye to one of Telltale Game's most beloved characters.

What should you expect?

According to the official synopsis, things have come full circle for Clementine, who

has been on the road for a few years since the first season.

While she depended on the kindness of strangers in the early seasons, Clem has now stepped

into the role of protector.

Tasked with watching over an orphaned boy named A.J., Clem might have finally found

refuge at an abandoned school.

Will this be enough to ensure Clem and A.J. a happy ending?

Find out when The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode 1 premieres on August 14th

for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate

While Nintendo Switch owners didn't get to play the excellent Monster Hunter: World,

they can at least rejoice that Capcom is still releasing another Monster Hunter title for

the console.

Yes, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is a port of a 3DS title, but it's a port of

the expanded version that released exclusively in Japan last year.

Western fans will be able to play this new version for the very first time.

You can pick up Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate on August 28th on the Nintendo Switch.

Strange Brigade

Quite a few co-op shooters have popped up in the last few months, but the weirdest and

most stylish one of all is Rebellion's Strange Brigade.

Oozing inspiration from the golden age of monster movies and adventure films, Strange

Brigade sends an unlikely group of heroes into Egypt to stop an evil Witch Queen from

unleashing an army of mummies on the world.

"I say!

They're coming out the ruddy walls now!"

Mummies won't be the only danger you'll face either.

The Strange Brigade will also have to fight minotaurs, "fire-breathing assassins," and

other supernatural threats.

Luckily, these warriors are armed with plenty of guns and even a few magic powers.

This truly sounds like the right team for the job.

You can get Strange Brigade on August 28th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Dead Cells

Despite being an indie title from a relatively small developer, Motion Twin's Dead Cells

might be the most highly anticipated game of August, well, the final version, at least.

Dead Cells has been in Steam Early Access since 2017 and sold 730,000 copies in its

first year out to the public.

Now, the game is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Switch, which means that console fans

will finally get to experience what makes this Castlevania-meets-Dark Souls side-scroller

so special.

Its mix of addicting gameplay and tough-as-nails enemies and bosses make this one ride you

won't want to miss.

Dead Cells arrives on August 7.

Yakuza Kiwami 2

Hot on the heels of the critically acclaimed Yakuza 6 comes Yakuza Kiwami 2, a remake of

2008's Yakuza 2 for the PlayStation 2.

You play as a former gangster who wants to get away from his life of crime for a more

peaceful life.

Unfortunately, he's dragged back into the criminal underworld following an assassination.

This remake runs on the Dragon Engine, the same engine used for Yakuza 6.

It also features a whole new story scenario that bridges the gap between the first Yakuza

game and the second.

You can return to the Yakuza on August 28th on the PlayStation 4.

We Happy Few

Compulsion Games' We Happy Few is an interactive exploration of dystopia unlike any other.

Set in an alternate 1960s England, this indie survival game shows a terrifying world where

conformity and reality-altering drugs are the law.

"Soon you'll be frolicking in the village again.

Happiness is a choice."

With a drug called Joy, everything around you seems much brighter and happier.

But when you stop taking your Joy pill, you begin to see the grim world for what it truly

is.

One of the truly unique survival titles of recent years, you play as one of three characters

as you traverse Wellington Wells, while completing tasks and blending in with the Joy-addicted

citizens of the city.

We Happy Few is out on August 10th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Death's Gambit

While this game may look similar to Dead Cells in terms of basic gameplay, Death's Gambit

is a more straightforward affair, skipping the roguelike elements for challenging level

design and enemies.

But what really catches your eye is the beautiful, pixelated art style.

The gorgeous visuals almost make you forget that everyone is out to stab you.

Luckily, you're armed with a full array of weapons, including swords, bows, spears, and

much more.

And with an expansive world, there's plenty to see and do in this action-RPG platformer.

Death's Gambit is out on PlayStation 4 and PC on August 14.
